Here's vivid proof Georgia actually did tackle Roddy Jones. Once. (AJC photo by Pouya Dianat)
OK, folks. You know what I think will happen. (Georgia Tech 42, Georgia 27.) You’ve heard my phony-baloney rationale: Tech is the better and more consistent team. Now I’m asking: What do you think will happen?
Tech blowout? Georgia upset? Overtime at Bobby Dodd? (It happened 10 years ago, you’ll recall.) Questionable call proving decisive? (That has happened a time or two, has it not?) Roddy flying past Reshad down the sideline again? A phantom fumble returned for the winning touchdown? A fourth-down throwaway? Tim Wansley with a seal-the-game INT? Tim Jennings with a seal-the-game INT? Gary Lee with a kickoff return through the fog?
I’m fairly certain you’ve had enough of my blather. I’m also certain you have detailed thoughts on the matter. Please feel free to share. Sharing is good. Sharing is cleansing. Sharing is why I’m here.
I leave you with this one factoid: In the Associated Press preseason poll, one of these teams was ranked No. 13; the other was No. 15. Anyone recall which was higher?
The AJC sports columnist is a blogging fool. But you knew that already

You lost to KENSUCKY and think you can beat Tech? Better pull a little harder on your wishbone. Tech runs for 400+ (again) and Nesbitt has a decent 150 yards in the air. Joe Cox in ther NFL? No I think he will be the red headed kid workin’ the drive thru at Taco Bell.
Tech is going to the Orange Bowl. UGA-less is going to the Outhouse.

This bama and auburn game is very evident that UGA can beat Tech tomorrow. 4-5 years Tech and UGA have been 7 or less. I sure hope Tech knows what is at state.

I think UGA will play GT tough for at least 3 quarters, then the ghost of interception past will show with Joe (I can play in the NFL) Cox and turn the game into a route.
UGA fans why don’t you have a better quarterback? When are you going to produce an offensive lineman who can play in the NFL?

Hey willie martinez,
Tech can’t lose as long as you spend all your time on these blogs making up nursery rhymes. Sorry buddy but your mutts are going dooooooooown big time. Enjoy your last 24 hours before reality sinks in that UGA is simply not a good team this year. Everyone knows it and everyone is talking about it. Time for you and (some) of your fellow pups to accept reality for a change.

Wow! Tomorrow friends, cousin & some brothers meet on the Flats for braggng rights in an old Grudge Match!
This year started of with so much promise for both teams. Georgia was ranked 13 and Georgia Tech 15. Four months later… One team is 6-5 and the other 10-1. All the being said, the record doesn’t matter. Georgia will play hard with lights out passion. Georgia Tech will do the same. It should be a helluva nite on the Flats. I’m going with the Jackets in a close one. I hope both teams come away injury free. GO Jackets!

Jess, Tech fans are so cocky, whats the old saying “thats the POT calling the KETTLE black”. Do you ever read the blogs about the beloved pups. All the statistics over the past years BRAGGING about how great the mutts have been. You’ve got the DA’s on your side too. Be honest and admit it.And whoever the big bad azz was that said he was going to the game and if any nerd mouths off at him he’s gonna bust him in the mouth. My big bad bulldog friend, the first thing you’re gonna do is spend a few days in jail, then my lawyer and I are gonna see how much money ya got.

if Georgia eliminates turnovers and stupid penalties they are a great team… just look at the Oklahoma State and Kentucky games… we don’t turn the ball over in those games and we win… even the florida game, if joe cox doesn’t through that pick to start the second half, we have chance to make it a one possession game… BOTTOM LINE IS THIS…Georgia is a very undisciplined team with poor defensive coaching, BUT you can never count the dawgs out because of the level of talent out on the field… player for player Georgia is a more talented and athletic football team than Tech, and there is no disputing this… Tech executes better and plays more as a unit, which will consistently win you football games… however, in a rivalry game where bragging rights are on the line… don’t count out anyone… especially Georgia

Boy, there sure are some desperate dawg band-wagon fans on this blog, but I’d expect no less from these fair-weather groupies considering they have been going through this season with blinders on and pirate patches on both eyes. Your team is not that good this year. Let me repeat that tidbit. Your team is not that good this year! You lost your top 3 offensive players to the NFL and you just don’t have the experience to play at the level that your unrealistic expectations have deluded you into thinking that were there this year. And by the way, lay off CMR for crying out loud! He’s a great coach and a great person and you are quite lucky to have him at your redneck school. Grow up, and bring your hankies to the game tomorrow because it could be worse than ugly for you and your penalty-laden, fumbling, interception happy team. I think what really hurts you most is not the fact that you didn’t beat FL, didn’t beat TN or KY. I think your underwear is in a wad because GT is having a better year than you are and you cant handle the circumstances. As much as CPJ is having a banner year with his hard-nosed football schemes, your coach is great too and you’ll unfortunately bounce back with another good year for your barking fans. It’s just that this year you’re barking up the wrong tree. And it’s a good thing you’re bringing a replacement dawg because you don’t want to start the next line of UGA’s with a traumatic defeat!
Oh and my prediction for the score is….a new record in the books for GT in all of college football.
223-0 Tech humiliates ug-hah!
We set the first record in 1916 and we should be the ones to set the new one.

Both Mark and Jeff covering the game . . . let’s hope they is no ham throwing or eye-gouging. Clusters don’t usually pick games in public but they has been so much talk on the blogs about Tech and Georgia that we was thinking of picking this time. When we was playing ball it was always fun when other teams’ fans would pick against us even when they had no chance. Cobb County schools was especially bad at that. They’d pick themselves then we’d wear ‘em out and send ‘em home with a L. Cheerleading may play a big part in tomorrow’s game and maybe mascoting. Georgia will be going with a temporary mascot with no game experience. Tech will be going with Buzz and the Ramblin’ Wreck (a Ford) and now Richt has infiltrated Tech by being named Ford spokesman. They is some cunning things going on in this bitter rivalry. We predict the East stands will be quiet tomorrow. That don’t have anything to do with the game, though. They is some very polite Tech fans that sit over there and they don’t make much noise except for some polite clapping. They do quite a bit of clapping, though.

Because the two Athletic Directors cared most about
getting maximum TV bucks, the teams are having to play
in bitter cold tommorrow night. When weather makes
the players uncomfortable it is a great equalizer.
That’s all Georgia needs to win. Thanks Radakovich.

Mr Great GT DNA: How are you going to get on this blog and talk about Georgia fans being fair weather? Even in a year where we are really struggling, we care enough about our team to still stand up and defend our program… Where were you Jacket fans during that 7 year losing streak to Georgia? Tech fans are finally filling up their stadium and making some noise in the media, but only because of their recent success…. so if you want to talk about bandwagon… I will through that right back in your face sir.. last week against Kentucky, our demoralized, three loss football team still played in front of a sold out crowd, because we as fans still care about our team in a bad year…as soon as Tech slides back off into mediocrity again, attendance will drop and enthusiasm for the program will subside… you just watch………………didn’t mean to get us off topic here but that just really upsets me when you Tech fans question our commitment to our team
Meanwhile...Meanwhile hires a PR firm to lobby Mark

You won’t have to worry about being attacked at the game. All the crimanals will be on your sideline. You can’t never say anything about how long it’s been since you won something. You won 1 championship 30 years ago cause Hershel or at least 1 of his personalities came to ga.

Tech wins in a blowout, unless UGA plays flawlessly. That is to say that they must have no turnovers and under 50 yards of penalties. Then it could be close. If they do all of that, and Tech has two turnovers, then UGA wins.
