OK, folks. You know what I think will happen. (Georgia Tech 42, Georgia 27.) You’ve heard my phony-baloney rationale: Tech is the better and more consistent team. Now I’m asking: What do you think will happen?
Tech blowout? Georgia upset? Overtime at Bobby Dodd? (It happened 10 years ago, you’ll recall.) Questionable call proving decisive? (That has happened a time or two, has it not?) Roddy flying past Reshad down the sideline again? A phantom fumble returned for the winning touchdown? A fourth-down throwaway? Tim Wansley with a seal-the-game INT? Tim Jennings with a seal-the-game INT? Gary Lee with a kickoff return through the fog?
I’m fairly certain you’ve had enough of my blather. I’m also certain you have detailed thoughts on the matter. Please feel free to share. Sharing is good. Sharing is cleansing. Sharing is why I’m here.
I leave you with this one factoid: In the Associated Press preseason poll, one of these teams was ranked No. 13; the other was No. 15. Anyone recall which was higher?

Go ahead Pup humpers, put 8 in the box. Stack up the middle. Then watch CPJ call for one of two things: He will fire up the passing game, which none of you inbreds even are considering even exists for Tech and burn your hairy hides with TD catches all day long. Or, the triple option will burn you on the corners cause you haven’t defended the edges all year.
Martinez and his not so vaulted defense is going to be taken to the woodshed tonight if they don’t play disciplined assignment football for 60 minutes. They didn’t do it last year and they won’t do it tonight.

Yeah, eight in the box is a great defensive strategy! I hope UGA uses that all night long. I don’t think the scoreboard is set up to handle triple digit scores, but they better do some mods on it before the game starts, at least for the HOME side of the score.

Yeah 8 in the box is a wonderful defensive strategy. I hope Willie plays it all night long! Tech hasn’t scored in the triple digits since the years 1914 and 1916 when John Heisman was coaching. (Yep, they did it twice!) We might see that again if Willie goes with the eight in the box defense.

Dawgbite ….. and how many teams with winning records did Navy beat in the 6 years prior (’96-’01) to PJ’s head coaching tenure? FYI … when you get the answer, and notice if/how many there were in 1996, don’t forget that it was PJ who was Navy’s OC in ‘96. But good try on your part thinking PJ isn’t one of the best coaches in college football.
Maybe you should take the time to reasearch his entire OC & HC career beginning with GA Southern way back in ‘85.

Take the Jackets tonight in a high scoring game if they can protect the ball & stay healthy. GT’s D-liine needs to put pressure on Joe Cox, and limit GA’s running game. And when B. Smith is in to run the wildcat offense make sure the back of his jersey gets a few grass stains on it!

I think one thing CPJ has done is put Tech above this game. It is not a win or lose the season game. It certainly is sweet when we beat them, but this will not remove the taste of this season from Georgia’s mouth or stop the train that is moving at Tech. Tech is doing this with a team not just one or two players, this is a good program at Tech. Georgia loses players and goes into the tank every 4 or 5 years. The difference with this team and situation is the SEC won’t let them back in the ring this time. I don’t see a space for them in that conference and beating Tech is not going to solve that. And losing to Tech is not going to solve anything either. This is pure entertainment tonight.

WE don’t want to just beat Georgia tonight, we want to hang-half-a-hundred on your hairy, fugly azz and then listen to you blame it on someone else!

Georgia has been bad but not back to back bad—–they had a close game with LSU–and then got blown out by Tenn—-they beat Vandy and got blown out by Florida—–then an easy game an beat Auburn and then lost to Kentucky–which was a gimmie—-I think Georgia plays a good game today——they havent really stunk 2 games in a row this year—-but if they turn the ball over more than twice–they lose—-

The most exciting news ( even if UGA were to win 180-0 ) is that maybe Richt and for sure MOST of the UGA staff will be gone and with that mass exodus, will be the beginning of another great 5-8 year UGA run of glory. History proves this scenario time and time again.
History is in the makings tonight post game with Rich’t usual, dismal, sullen, shocking pathtic comments with Chuck Dowdle.

Let’s call this game what it really is to the Yellow Jackets: an annoyance, really nothing more than a fly that has to be swatted in order to enjoy the picnic.
Tech has bigger fish to fry. We’re above that team in Athens and the entire free world has no choice but to recognize it. The sad little pups can cling to their little illusions (which IS cute) but the fact is UGA is a an afterthought on the national landscape, or more aptly, the team that proves that there might indeed be too many bowl games.

All that talent on the UGA sidelines is probably stewing hearing all this GT talk. I will venture to say that Rambo and AJ will play – this is all part of CMR’s P.T. Barnum streak .. may be more goofiness in store since it is a night game. The breaks will go UGA’s way tonight as UGA squeeks it out 28 to 24. Last year, Moreno was averaging 5.5 ypc, when Bobo starting passing the ball. The result was that Georgia only got 5 minute of possession in the 3rd and 4th qrtrts. We threw the ball 65% against Ga Tech. Why? I have no idea when you had Moreno getting 5.5 ypc. Why ony 17 touches instead of 30 touches for Moreno? I have no idea.
Note:
When a guy is averaging 5.5 ypc, and you’re playing a team who RUNS THE BALL 84% of the time, RUN THE BALL.

History always repeats itself. Especially when you are Georgia Tech. As sure as the sun rises in the east at some point in every season Tech lays a gigantic egg at the most inopportune time. Tonight’s the night. GT has never ever been able to deal with success. After UGA beats them in a game they think they can’t lose, ala LSU, Clemson runs them out of Raymond James Stadium. By the time GT gets to their disappointment bowl they will be ready to over like 5 dollar who$es and embarrass themselves in front of the entire nation. That is Tech’s history. And history will repeat itself.
