UGA in an upset? Tech in a blowout? Your thoughts, please

Here's vivid proof Georgia actually did tackle Roddy Jones. Once. (AJC photo by Pouya Dianat)

OK, folks. You know what I think will happen. (Georgia Tech 42, Georgia 27.) You’ve heard my phony-baloney rationale: Tech is the better and more consistent team. Now I’m asking: What do you think will happen?

Tech blowout? Georgia upset? Overtime at Bobby Dodd? (It happened 10 years ago, you’ll recall.) Questionable call proving decisive? (That has happened a time or two, has it not?) Roddy flying past Reshad down the sideline again? A phantom fumble returned for the winning touchdown? A fourth-down throwaway? Tim Wansley with a seal-the-game INT? Tim Jennings with a seal-the-game INT? Gary Lee with a kickoff return through the fog?

I’m fairly certain you’ve had enough of my blather. I’m also certain you have detailed thoughts on the matter. Please feel free to share. Sharing is good. Sharing is cleansing. Sharing is why I’m here.

I leave you with this one factoid: In the Associated Press preseason poll, one of these teams was ranked No. 13; the other was No. 15. Anyone recall which was higher?

Tech by 22.

With 2 mins to play, Jackets are up by 14, and have the ball 4th-and-13 on the Tech 39. CPJ goes for it, Nesbitt scores on the keeper. CPJ goes for two, just because he can!

Tech is so good, UGA should not be on the field with them. This is one special Tech team. Here is what I see though, if UGA can make it past the intital 2 or 3 scores Tech puts up and stay within 2 scores they will beat GT. If UGA can force a couple of turnovers, anywhere on the field, they will beat GT. If UGA can keep from turning over the ball, they will beat GT. If UGA will not commit stupid penalties they will beat GT. The rub is this, UGA has not done that all year. My guess is this, UGA 38 GT 21.

Tiger might be willing to switch places with CWM

Bob Horner stayed hurt, you might find a guy in Orlando who would gladly trade places with CWM, at least for the weekend. Hell hath no fury like a woman scored, unless it’s a woman scorned in full view of the world.

Won’t say Tiger did or didn’t do it, but you can pretty well bet in was a topic of conversation in that Orlando household, that’s for sure. How do you hit a fire hydrant and a tree? And doesn’t it seem like a family as well off as the Wood’s family would have a set of spare keys LOL?

Wonder how many tech savvy tech fans, pun fully intended, will be checking on that story as the story in front of them becomes Tech passes the 200 yard mark in rushing with 3:54 left to go in the first quarter?

My team is SEC but neither Tech or GA. But I hope the Dawgs beat the crap out of Tech. I had the pleasure of working for a Tech Grad in Atlanta who was a VP. What a piece of work!! So full of himself because he went to Tech. Walked around like his crap didn’t stink. May be silly, but for that reason alone, GO DAWGS!!!

GT all the way, how do you expect us to believe that Tech has smart athletes when your star is running around in SC the night before the game? Having said that, he probabally could run over there an back. Just a little light humor now don’t get mad.

Hey Jess: What are you smoking? Must be ganja bud, coz you are dreaming if you think your sorry azz team is beating the Jackets. By the way, UGA is our biatches now and will be as long as coach Johnson is on the Flats. By the way, you won’t get mugged on North Avenue, as you will be leaving after the 1st quarter with all the other dawg fans. GT blows your sorry team into oblivion. Hey, maybe next year you win it all. Also, your basketball team look great against JAX State with a 67-64 win. Now, that’s impressive. UGAG sucks!

thanks for responding….as a dawg fan can you blame me for my lame attempt to change the subject..??..I’ll start drinking early tomorrow and read about the game Sun. morning…..but the Tiger story has my attention….I am very curious what happened…he’s so rich we’ll never know….there’s a “cover up” there…he’s got a temper…which is why backed into a fire hydrant…that’s not rocket science….IMHO

BUT…no way Tiger is switching places wih CWM….unless he was going to meet a dude….LOL I disagree with you there…..

Hey BG: Look at the last 20 years against UF! Now that’s impressive. UF 17 out of 20. By the way, your team has yet to win 8 in a row, which Tech holds the record. You better hope we don’t run up the score and beat your team 222 – 0 like Cumberland College. We won’t score 222, but I think 60 plus is in the making. THWG!

The speculation is Bob Horner stayed hurt, is that may not have sustained his injuries directly as a result of the crash. Of course any speculation that Mrs. Woods has been seen recently training in MMA with Kimbo Slice after news of the alleged affair hit the Internet is reckless speculation, and should be dismissed as such.

Urban’s 4 keys to winning include contorlling turnovers. Georgia has got to get a grip on that. Urban says you have to AT LEAST get 2 1st downs, then punt to their 30 yard line. Turnovers are like a 14 point swing. It’s how the Gators smashed those dogs. If Georgia doesn’t IMPLODE again, they should win. But, as many have said, that’s a big “IF” Georgia usually falls on its own sword. Go Gators!

Georgia should lose, except for that loser guy Dwyer, he only got 7 yards on 5 carries against Miami, is that true? Without him, Tech probabably wins, with Dwyer, they lose this year.
