Message to the bumble bee alumni. The blue chip players do not attend Tech for an engineering degree. They come because of coach Hewitt and the ACC exposure. Tech is a feeder for the NBA. Favors and Lawal will be gone after two years just as some of the other Tech blue chippers from the past. They are not going to wait around the flats for injuries to void hopes for a million dollar contract in the NBA just to satisfy the Tech alumni. That would be totally stupid. Maybe Tech should follow the Duke program where they get good players looking for an education and not an NBA career. Coach Hewitt is a victim of the system and not his ability to coach. If he could keep the blue chippers for four years, Tech would be going to the big dance often. Of course, I believe that Tech has more players in the NBA than Duke. That is a big positive in my opinion. Money talks while bulls... walks. IT IS WHAT IT IS.

They won, so that is good. But at the end of the game, the offense was once again in disarray. More than 40 of their points came in transition. That looks great, and is a lot of fun, but those points will not be available against UNC, Duke, and other highly ranked schools. Someone needs to teach someone how to get the ball to Gawal and Favors inside. For the most part they either score on rebounds or on the break. We see never to be able to get the ball to them in the offense (no matter the defense, man or zone). And again I ask, has anyone ever seen a team so bad at simply inbounding the basketball. If an official ever starts counting to 5 immediately, they will never get it in. That is beyond my comprehension.

BravesFan79, we have had one winning season (9-7) under Phewitt.

WE ARE NOT A TOP LEVEL ACC HOOPS PROGRAM.

We will be 9-7 at best under Phewitt.

but not enough (imho). Favors took about six shots and made all.....FEED THAT GUY.

PS...#0 may be something one day, but he surely needs much more coaching and much much more time practicing free throws.

I have got to pile-on with those who are complaining about Paul Hewitt - since the final four season, he has done nothing but disappoint. To be honest, I don't have very high hopes for this year, no matter how good the recruits are - the problem is the leader. At this point, Hewitt needs to show us some significant changes for the better, or he needs to hit the road and let someone else take over. It has been too long since Tech was competitive in the ACC, much less nationally (though competitive in the ACC is pretty much the same thing as competitive nationally).
