OK, Falcons fans: Would you take DeAngelo back?

He was overrated and overstated, but he still made the Pro Bowl and made some plays. Which leads us to today’s fanciful question, directed toward Falcons fans:

Were DeAngelo Hall available, would you take him back?

I ask because the Falcons, as you’ve observed, aren’t aswarm  in cornerbacks. Brian Williams is out and Tye Hill didn’t last long in his delayed debut, leaving with cramps, and Chris Houston has this thing about not turning to play the ball and Brent Grimes is 5-foot-3. (OK, I exaggerate about that last part. Grimes is taller than 5-3. And he can, as we saw in the Superdome, really jump.)

D-Hall comes to the Dome for Sunday’s game as a Redskin, having worked his way out of Oakland in record time last season. (And if you can’t stick with the Raiders, that’s about as bad a sign as there is.) And he popped up in the pregame blather, as D-Hall was wont to do, by saying Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff “lied to me several times.” (No word on whether the alleged lie went along these lines: “DeAngelo, we think you’re a great player.”)

So that got me to thinking: Were Hall again unemployed, would I sign him? I welcome your thoughts on this weighty non-issue, but first I offer mine.

No. Heck no. Not in a million years. I’d rather re-sign Charles Dimry than DeAngelo Hall. I’d rather have Annie Hall play for me than DeAngelo Hall. I’d rather make a deal with Monty Hall than DeAngelo Hall.

But maybe that’s just me. Your feelings are not only welcome but encouraged.

No way. Absolutely not, I would not bring him back even though we desperately need a DB. Not a good influence in the clubhouse….

Absolutely not!!! Most egotistical, cocky and arrogant person in the NFL. He embodied everything that was wrong with the Falcons during the Mora Era. I wouldn’t even trade him for Chris Houston…LOL!!!

The only difference between D Hall when he was a Falcon and now is that when he was a Falcon he was OVERRATED! Now everyone knows how bad he is

No, we need him on other teams so Roddy and Jenkins can burn him for more touchdowns like last year in Oakland.

Second chances to players that was traded away or went away to another team is always appreciated. Say, a player is a hometown boy and always wanted to play here and did for awhile and then got stubborn and wouldn’t take coaching and wouldn’t take a pitch and then got traded and went to the big city and found out they was no Dairy Queens there and realized taking a pitch and putting the ball in play was worth being home and close to the Dairy Queen action. That would deserve a second chance. DeAngelo? No way.

Most egotistical, dispicable, self centered indivdual in the NFL. He disgraced the Falcon logo and he embodies everything that was wrong with the Mora Era. I wouldn’t even trade Chris Houston for him… HaHa!!

Let’s say it was a Clusters. What if a Clusters was traded and went to another team and then the team chemistry was all messed up because they was no Clusters? Wouldn’t having that Clusters back and having a Clusters on the team be important? Yes, Clusters on a team is like coffee in a cup. So, if it was a Clusters (or a close Clusters friend) we would say, “bring him back”, but since it isn’t a Clusters or a close Clusters friend and it is DeAngelo we would say again, “no way”.

No way…I believe his nickname with the “Two Live Stews” was “Toast” Hall, because he got burned so many times…He’ll go to the list of Falcons made up of Pickens, Dimry, Lawrence…
No more VT players, ever, on this team…

Personally I have no issue with him. He’s generally a nice guy. Very cool in person. As a football player? Absolutely positively not. He’s been outplayed by Brent Grimes at far less salary.

He’s got loads of talent and ability but he isn’t humble or team oriented enough to use it effectively and that leads to the moments he has like the dual personal fouls on Steve Smith that cost the Falcons a game, the interception try vs New Orleans that cost the Falcons a game. He gets out run by Hines Ward in sock feet… then after he’s traded and paid boatloads of money he gets abused by a rookie on simple go routes.

It’s not that he’s untalented he’s just not a very good football player. His agent… that guy is brilliant. Deangelo Hall is a creature of potential. All Pro talent but entirely uncoachable.

He’s just not the type of guy you want around you on the football team because he won’t play within the scheme. At least he didn’t when he was here.

It’s just unfortunate really. He should be an All Pro… he could be one of the best but he’s not self aware enough to understand that he’s not a great player. He’s a hero in his own mind.

Hall’s a joke, a wasted draft pick. DeAngelo Hall is the only person on the planet that thinks DeAngelo Hall is good. I bet Steve Smith of the Panthers would love to see back in Atlanta. In 06 & 07 DeAngelo Hall had a cameo in almost every play from Steve Smith’s highlight film.

LONGTIME SEASON TICKET HOLDER

There is a reason Dimitroff didn’t want “Me Hall” on the team. He would rather look for cornerbacks anywhere than have a “me first” player like Hall on his team. That is one reason I like our GM. Hall is exactly the type of player the Falcons have shunned since Dimitroff’s arrival.

Dirtybird3228

Not if you want my season ticket money, and that goes for Keith Brooking as well after his little stunt a few weeks ago. I can’t wait to see Roddy go off on him. I was there a few years ago when he lost it and cost us 45 yards, people were taking off thier #21 jerseys and throwing them away right there in the Dome.

Yes. In the same way NE Pats brought in Moss and were successful. D-Hall would be an improvement in a serious area of need. But he would need to be kept on a short leash with his on/off field antics.

I think the consensus here is that D. Hall is not wanted……The Atlanta Falcons have/need players who project a positive image and are a good role model……hall is/has neither. To put it in simple terms…….he’s an idiot.
