Here's the first of Joe Cox's several interceptions. (AJC photo by Bob Andres)
1. With Georgia within 14 points and still 10 minutes to play, some 10,000 Georgia backers up and left. Think about that. You’ve paid for tickets, parking, food, hotel and gas/airfare to come watch your team, and your team still has a theoretical chance. (One tipped pass and it’s a one-score game.) And you have so little faith in your team that you walk out. And your program has won 10 or more games six times in the past seven seasons. This would seem to say, at least to me, that Mark Richt is losing his constituency.
2. When Georgia pulled within 14-10, it did its huddle-up-and-jump-around thing on the sideline, and I typed on the live chat, “I smell a late hit coming.” It came on the kickoff. Michael Gilliard, late hit. It is uncanny how this team cannot play by the rules.
3. Florida scored 41 points without doing anything extraordinary. No Gator rushed for 100 yards. No Gator had 100 yards receiving. Tim Tebow’s longest completion was for 29 yards. Not until the game’s final drive did Florida gain 30 yards on a scrimmage play. And the Gators didn’t throw a fourth-quarter pass (though Tebow was sacked once). And a merciful Urban Meyer had John Brantley take a knee with the ball on the Georgia 20. Think Spurrier would have?
4. Joe Cox was supposed to be a game manager. Instead the fifth-year senior has been wilder than Matthew Stafford was as a freshman. Stafford had 13 interceptions in 2006 and didn’t start every game. Cox has 12 interceptions in eight games. And the second interception Saturday was just sad: Pressured, Cox tried to throw the ball out of bounds but couldn’t sling it far enough. The exact same thing had happened in Knoxville. Which brings us to …
5. Tennessee. It’s coming fast. If Georgia didn’t figure to finish ahead of Florida in 2009, neither did it seem any other SEC East school posed an imminent threat to the Bulldogs’ hold on second place. South Carolina is ensconced as a 7-5 or 8-4 team, and Kentucky and Vandy are Kentucky and Vandy. But Tennessee has now beaten Georgia and South Carolina and has played Florida and Alabama close, and that’s a scary sign. Because if Tennessee in Year 1 under Kiffin can have the same overall record as Georgia in Year 9 under Richt, what happens in 2010?
6. The black helmets. Just embarrassing.

I LOVED watching the UGA players Jawing and shoving after every play. Even when down by 2 TD’s UGA was celebrating expected plays and doing the Gator Chomp. Too Funny!
As for Spikes, that was dirty. However, perhaps if Ealy wasn’t talking and shoving after every play it may not have happened.
KEEP MARK RICHT! I love him and his cute “child sized” sunglasses! Also, love the stupid penalties!
Same old, same old.

Richt is now exposed as the coach wearing no uniform. What an idiot!!!!!!! Has he been living in reality since he lost the Sugar bowl in 2005 to WVA?? Its been an inconsistent ride from hell for all of our fans. Is he in total denial about just how bad and how many HUGE SEC match ups HIS coaching has lost on the big national media stage?? He has been made to look like a high school coach in over his head at least 3-5 games a year now. Folks that is Ray Goofball territory in my book. In the early years Richt’s team was disciplined, tenacious, solid D mated with solid O!!! WTF happened Coach?!?!?!?! Its like the super rich Gayturds paid for an alien ship to take you away and put some spray tanned idiot in your place. Since then you haven’t seen an SEC champ game in Atlanta (and prob won’t for the rest of your brief career at UGA) your teams play like there is no practicing during the weak just fun scrimmages, and diving board days too!!! Your assistants would be lucky to find a job at my local private high school footabll teams and STILL might get outcoached. Your supposed top 10 recruiting classes are turning out to be handpicked thugs that can learn how to play the game. This unfortunately means that your program is SO FAR OUT OF THE TOP TWENTY RIGHT NOW ITS SAD. Coach your too old to grow a pair so I might ask if you could just resign please so the rich UGA program can go and get a winner (Cincinnati, TCU, BSU…….) so many other coaches that would outperform you in NCAA college ball right now its pathetic. Coach I liked you at first and you did well but I never seen such a sorry excuse and over paid govt employee now a days until I watched my favorite team this season vanish in a puff of poorly coached/prepped smoke. UGA plan on some rebuilding years ahead. CMR gonna go and join his 10th church and adopt a few more kids AFTER he resigns from coaching casue its just gotten too hard now that the SEC is loaded with ball cutting basterds ( Saban,Meyer,Kiffen, Miles, Spurrier ) Coach I am real proud of you for resigning so soon. I wouldn’t want to assocaite or coach against that rabid bunch of freaks either, Lotta work you know??? God speed coach on your contributions to charity and of your adopting more kids. Oh yeah and thanks for letting my DAWGS go back to finding a coach that will GET ER DONE, cause you are clearly just lazy and worried about your spray tan week in and out. See ya CMR!!!!!!!

Mutt H8r … now that’s the most intelligent comment I have seen on a UGA post. GT appreciates a great coach, a winning record and doesn’t EXPECT a national championship. Just so happen we got one 20 years ago and UGA hasn’t had in 30. Will get another one before UGA too. UGA won’t get a bowl bid this year, will run off CMR, and CMR will come back to haunt you unappreciative fans. Don’t realize what you got. That’s what makes this so fun. Still wondering where Bud is from yesterday’s post. Oh Bud, where are youuuuuuu?

Click on this link of Ealey getting his eyes gouged out by Brandon “THE THUG” Spikes. There is no way this guy should not be charged with an Assault for what he did. CMR should request from SEC league office to carry guns next year to protect themselves against the FLA thug players. This is not the first incident ….remember spikes lying on top of Knowshon last year and kidney punching him several times. Why can’t the media expose these guys for what a THUG program that they are.
UGA players get charged with driving without a license and UF players are charged with RAPE, GRAND THEFT, ASSULT with deadly weapons. I will take UGA athletes any day…THEY HAVE CLASS!…..If a UGA player would have gouged Tebows eyes it would be all over ESPN!

First of all!! I hope we lose all the sorry ass bandwagon jumpers now. Second All the Wussy Tech and Bamer fans come out of the woodwork now that they don’t suck like they have since Stallings and who knows who at Tech? They have always sucked since Bobby Dodd and 1 lucky season in 90.
As for Georgia They haven’t been able to field a team that can compete in Jax since Dooley left. They let a little ego Maniac Spurrier who UGA kicked around like a little Biatch when he played, start a momentum trend that Richt, Donnan or Goff have been powerless against. The state of Georgia produces some of the best football players in the country and some of the sorriest coaches. Why we can’t even compete down there is beyond explanation. Send down the local Girl Scouts from Watkinsville or something next year at least they could teach this bunch a little about discipline.

21 steps
1-Play Aaron Murray
2-Play King and Ealey more
3-Play Marlon Brown (are we burning a redshirt for a handful of plays?)
4-Play Orson Charles more
5-Play Rantavious Wooten more
6-Play AJ Greene every play, throw to him often
7-Play Branden Smith more
8-Play Tavarres King more
9-Move Samuel to LB (see Brandon Miller and Kiante Tripp)
10-DEMAND discipline, cut the hair, treat them like the freaking army, if they don’t like it, hit the road, kids NEED discipline, they need to focus on the little things
11-Red jerseys and helmets at home, white jerseys and read helmets on the road—that’s it
12-If you make a physical error, there will be discipline in practice, repeated mistakes you are benched
13-If you make a mental error, penalty late hits, dancing after making a tackle etc… you are immediateley benched, repeated mistakes, benched for the year
14-DEMAND perfection, repeat plays until all 11 players execute properly, reward good performance
15-Bobo takes new position elsewhere
16-Fabris ditto
17-Martinez ditto
18-Hire the best strength and conditioning coach in the country, move VH to head of player development/mentoring
19-Have your former WR (Bryan McLendon) coach wide receivers instead of running backs and have your former running back (Tony Ball) coach running backs instead of WRs
20-Go after the best OC, DC and ST coaches in the country, pay them well, demand accountability
21-Recruit playmakers AND leaders, not just pure speed. This team has NO leaders.
It’s not that difficult

As a Tech fan for a long time , I know what this type of losing that UGA is going through feels like. It’s easy to blame all the losses on the coach(es). However, I feel like the players have given up on the coaches this year. The undisciplined play with stupid penalties, missed assignments, etc. shows a lack of concentration and also a lack of discipline. In other words the coaches have lost control of the team. In a lot of ways I think it goes back to the type of student/athlete you sign. I’ve thought Georgia has recently stopped recruiting athletes with CHARACTER AND DISCIPLINE and has instead looked more at times in the 40 or yards gained. I really don’t think Richt has “his” players anymore, but has tried to coach the players that the recruiting coordinator has chosen to go after….just a thought.

Why is anyone surprised that ‘Dawgs are now in the same class as ‘Thugs’?? Does anyone remember a kicker at FSU–who could NOT speak or write English well enough to truly be counted ’student’ or made to attend classes–by the name of Jankowski, who helped Bowden/Richt win games?? In which IF any police officer arrested Jankowski for ANY offense found his, the officers job/career in jeopardy! What goes around COMES around….how is UGA being ‘honored’ with any of these tactics? Keep UP the pressure to get UGA, not just ‘Dawg’s football’ back ON TRACK!!

I have been a Dawg fan for over 40 years. This program is reminding me of Nebraska’s: once a dominating force, it is now behind the times and doomed to get worse. The thug mentality has to go – it is embarrassing and insulting. My son goes to UGA and had one of the offensive players in his class. He asked the player about the trip back to Athens after the UT game, “Richt must have ripped into you guys” … the player responded, “nope, actually we listened to music and he was pretty low key and nice”. WTF?
I went to the Arizona State game and actually watched Curran on the big screen dancing to rap music as he and the other defenders were in position waiting for the snap. I would expect this from Miami, but if this is the future of UGA, I’m outta here. Get rid of Damon Evans and bring back Dooley and some class to the program.

The fair-weather University of Georgia t Atherns fans who are whinning like babies should be ashamed. If you were real fans of the UGA Football Team you would keep your complaints to yourself and rally around the UGA Football Team. I look at players like Rennie Curran who put a big hit on that overrated Tim Tebow and I applaud his effort. Yes UGA is really down this year, (2009), but I see positives everywhere. Georgia is stealing Florida High School players based on the commitment that have been announced, Urban Meyer will eventually move on the Notre Dame job in South bend and then UGA will take the series back from Florida. Thus I ask that UGA fans be patient. 2009 iis a loss year. Next year the overated Tim Tebow will be seating on a NFL practice squad and soon Meyer will be at will at his Dream Job.
Also Georgia every year recuits Top Ten players to the Football Team. We will eventually win the SEC down the road in a few year. Just cut your silly pathetic whinning and accept that the University of Florida is a better Football Team in 2009 and 17 of the last 20 years. Adios Amigos!!!

I don’t see a true East rival for UF for at least a couple of years, don’t forget that Tenn will have a new QB and O Line next year and no Eric Berry. They will be better THIS year than they will next year. It will be another battle for second place next year. Florida and Bama have built championship programs that will be around awhile…

Charlie Strong or Kirby Smart. Both would be a great defensive minded coach that knows the inner workings of their respected top ranked programs. Not only would we have a strongly developed program, but we would also have a leg up on the team that whichever one comes from. You know Saban is always gonna have a very good defense so his DC should very much understand the way the man works. With the type of players we have, Strongs 3-3-5 scheme would fit pretty well. We recruit very similar to UF on defense, just not quite as good.
Both of these coaches would be great recruiters. Smart is a homegrown guy who would take pride in coaching his alma mater. Remember Spurrier at UF?
We need a defense, special teams, and ball control minded head coach at UGA. We can always get an OC that can put points on the board. The issue is can either of these guys bring in a full staff to work with them as a HC. I think both will get a shot at HC somewhere soon. Do they need to prove themselves as an HC on a smaller stage first? Do we gamble and wait? Do we look to the NFL for a current DC to be our HC. As far as Im concerned, I don’t care what kind of offense we run but we damn well need a defensive minded HC. Do you really think CMR knows that much about how to scheme a defense? He obviously doesn’t because if he did then whatever changes were made during the offseason just made us worse.
Maybe BVG could be our head coach, Im not sure that’s the best option though. I’m not sure he’s head coach material, look at what happened at GSU a few years back.
We gotta get somebody new dammit!
