The Los Angeles Times reports that Michael Vick will star in a reality series on BET, only it really won’t be a reality series. Writes Greg Braxton:
“Producers of the Vick series emphasized the program should be considered a docu-series — not a typical reality show like VH-1’s ‘The T.O. Show,’ which revels in the excesses of its flamboyant star, wide receiver Terrell Owens. The tone of Vick’s show, say producers, will be serious and somber as it focuses on his personal struggles since his release, including the strains on his relationships with his fiancée, Kijafa Frink, and his children. It will also revisit the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan., where Vick spent 1 1/2 years behind bars and the Virginia property where he ran and financed a dogfighting ring.”
The eight-part series, Braxton reports, is scheduled to air next year and is being financed in part by MV7, Vick’s production company. And it has, you should know, already drawn the boilerplate complaint from our pals at PETA. From a spokesman: “People who abuse animals don’t deserve to be rewarded.”
But I say everyone should just hold his/her figurative horses. (”Figurative” because I don’t want PETA mad at me.) I have a prediction, and we know how good I am at predicting, don’t we?
My prediction: Nobody will watch it.
Nobody will watch because — let’s face it — we don’t want to see “serious and somber” in our reality TV. We want to see pseudo-celebrities do silly things. We want to see the Kardashians go shopping . We want to see Kate humiliate Jon on-camera. (Though that rat deserves it.) We don’t want real reality; we want to escape our own personal too-real reality.
Vick to Braxton: “What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”
Not to be totally insensitive, but that sounds far too educational and perhaps even uplifting to make for what is known as Good TV. Because Good TV is fluff. Good TV is junk. Good TV is worthless.
I am, as you might have gathered, not a fan of TV in any manifestation. Except for Kate. I like Kate.

Are you serious?
I love watching the show “Shouldn’t be alive” on the Animal Planet. It’s hilarius watching lion, bears, sharks, cougars, etc attacking humans who are out in the wilderness, where the animals live.
It’s funny because all the victims are always white people. Now the first thing that they do, when attacked, is hunt down the defenseless “wild” animal because all of a sudden it is a “man eater”.
How can it be a man eater, if man invaded where they live. To me that animal is probably thinking “I was just hunting and I would eat the meat”.
When white people don’t understand something or can’t get their way, they take or kill and create bogus documents or laws to fit their needs. Case in point Native Americans!
White people came here, stole, raped, killed and tortured and called the Native Americans salvages. That’s hilarius.

Let’s be honest, would you rather have Mike Vick’s current status or yours, earning millions or working a 9-5?
Now before you answer, remember it’s a sin to lie.

@Reality check. Of course I’d love to have Vick’s salary. Who would not want that type of income? That said, if your implying that my motive here is jealousy. Sadly for you, the answer is a resounding ” No Sir.” Once again, what I find appalling is that he is given celebrity status given his past transgressions.

Of course, unlike Vick. I have never gone to prison. I have never had my home foreclosed on by the bank. I have never been bankrupt. I pay my bills. I don’t fight dogs. But hey, that’s just me.

Just because someone (not necessary you) has not been to prison does not mean they are without sin or not guilty of breaking the law.
None of us should judge anyone unless we are sin free and that is nobody on this Earth.
I am a Veteran and in my opinion, just like yours, anyone who has not served their country should not be allowed to complain about another person making a living.
The way I look at it, there are always someone that thinks they are better than someone else who may not be perfect in their eyes, but are too selfish or cowardly to protect the rights that they claim should not go to a certain individual, but I don’t judge people for their bad choices.
Who are you to judge. That man has a family just like everyone else.

Unfortunately, Vick will prevail largely due to the fact the bulk of the African American community will dismiss his criminal endeavors no matter how heinous. If Vick had cared for the African American community he would have been a mentor from the start. Now, we find him being a reluctant role model in order to rebuild his stalled career. A whole population supports him solely on skin color instead of his merit. How sad. That said, I am checking out. No need to tell me good riddance as I will not engage in this blog further.

Uncle Toms like you deserve everything you get.
Stop hating that man because you have no life and his fortunes.
If you have kids, be a positive role model and stop looking for celebrities and pro athletes to raise your kids.
Take responsibility for your life.
What really have you done for this country – nothing but complain about what you don’t have.
That is the reality.

Vick’s crimes were horrid and incomprehensible to many….however he paid his debt to society. We are a forgiving country for the most part normally after the bashing and loathing. I think its that time. Let it go folks. He did something wrong……and so have each and everyone of US.

By the way, the best way to secure yourself from spy devices and annoying calls is to use Phone blocker. Jam mobiles around you.

I hope those of you who admit to loving Michael Vick realize that enjoyment and absence of remorse while torturing living things are attributes of serial killers. These are the exact same qualities found in every serial killer in history because it hints that the person finds joy in being able to manipulate life, regardless if it’s human or animal. Taking this into account it’s fair to say Michael Vick is not mentally stable, and most likely harbors an Antisocial Personality Disorder. Is this the kind of person you want to look up to? I hope, for your sake, you get better idols.
