I used to say that Bobby Cox was the best regular season manager in baseball and one of the worst in the post-season. I used to only half-kiddingly say the Braves should bring in a "relief manager" once the playoffs started. But since the Braves have not been to the playoffs in four (five?) seasons, he has lost his edge in the regular season. Norton is a prime example. What on earth is Bobby thinking? The guy is a horrible major league hitter and yet Bobby still uses him in anything but a blowout!!! And now he wants to give Kelly Johnson more chances?! It is definitely time for Bobby to step away from the field.

Let's have Norton cloned and play him at every position. He ought to be a great pitcher. Nobody knows more about what gets a batter out!

I could use a little humour after that 6-game losing streak to end the season, Mark. Norton was great in 08, but a disaster in 09 as everbody knows. I think Freddie Freeman will take his spot on the roster in 10, but hopefully LaRoche is signed and starts at 1B.

Why not keep Norton? Bobby Cox has already spoke about giving the .225 hitting Kelly Johnson 2nd base next year. Cox hasn't learned a thing this year. Sort of like when he boasted he knew how to handle Dwight Howard of the Phillies, only to continue to pitch to him the next two games - - - and allowing Howard to homer in EIGHT STRAIGHT against the Braves.

BOBBY, GO NOW. Don't wait. I can't stand yet another year of your Alzheimer's logic.

Keep Norton, Johnson, Carlyle, Choker, Soriano, Lowe, Kawakami and the rest of the non performers.

Trade Vasquez, JJ, Escobar, LaRoche, Diaz, Hansen, Infante, Prado and the rest of the players who got you 86 wins this year, IN SPITE of your managerial decisions.

YOU MAKE A LOT OF SENSE, BOBBY!

(P.S. Trade Vasquez and you should get the IDIOT OF THE YEAR AWARD !)

Agreed on Chip Caray. Tigers-Twins was one of the best games of the year, and we got stuck with the worst play-by-play call.
