This is Bobby Cox's worst job as a manager. When you send a .140 hitter up as a pinch hitter in every clutch situation is this bad judgement? When you over use your bullpen, pitching Sariano in a fourth straight game after he had thrown more than 60 pitches in the previous three. The same can be said for his use of Peter Moylan, Mike Gonzalez, Chris Medlin, et.al. And Garrett Anderson has to be the worst defensive outfielder the Braves have had since Jeff Burroughs, and worse than Burroughs he doesn't hustle. He looks like he's in another world in the outfield.Maybe it's time for somebody else as manager.

I just hear Greg Norton was charged with the Kennedy assassination.
I think we are dumping on the guy a bit much. He fringe player the Braves picked him up last year after he was RELEASED by Seattle. He has been in the league for 12 years but only has more than 300 abs once. He basically has no defensive position. What exactly are we expecting.

He had a career year pinch hitting but it does not take a genus to see he is having trouble catching up to hard throwers this year. Joe and Boog litterally take turns, it really looks like Norton a little late on that fast ball. Do they do get cable in the dugout.
So the bigger question is why in the world has he been called upon to pinch hit so many times? Did I hear it was a bad year for Bobby Cox?

2010 Message from a Season Ticket Holder

1. Thank you Bobby for all that you have done, and goodbye!
2. Will the third base heir apparent please stand up?
3. Can I get a sledge hammer on first, because the tack hammer does not work?
4. Could we have the same 8 players in the field twice, and in the same batting order? Woopedeedoo...
5. Can you get me an admin to find the game on TV?
6. Does Arthur Blank like baseball - please - pretty please? No Liberty for all!
7. I would like to replace Derek Lowe beating himself up on camera with me beating him up on camera. Sell pay per view tickets to it, and fund a better outfield.
8. Can we get an order of enthusiasm, excuse me - super size it ENTHUSIASM, with some poise sauce, and a side of passion fries and 25 orders of HEART?
9. Medical order for 60 game tourniquets ready to replace pitching members after they have given up enough runs to tie the game, but have not given up enough runs to lose the game.
10. Permanent housing in the outfield for qualified mortgagees, instead of the mobile home trailer park we have enjoyed during our post 14 period.
11. The money back for the rest of my tickets which are hard to give away at this point.

For all the people saying that the offense lost the game last night, that had nothing to do with it. The score could have been 5 to 1, and Cox would have still let Soriana blow it.

Worst Brave ever? Let's keep it from about 1980 to present. In no particular order: Andres Thomas (SS), Ed Olwine (P), Greg Norton (??), Quilvio Veras (2B), and Derek Lilliquist (P).

You need to understand that I took him out because I didn't want to risk him getting hurt. In my opinion it was not a bad decision and I would do it again.

In 1995 Bobby Cox was 13 years younger and Wohlers was a great pitcher, then.

MARK: You could write ten more reasons, because since the beginning as you pointed the position players gamble didn't work.
Any respected team has to be built based on a solid defensive central line which includes the center field the second base and the catcher. We obviously had a big hole in second base (I pointed many times that KJ was not a good second baseman), actually Schafer was not bad with the glove but his total lack of offensive was too much for what we got from his glove, then Escobar and Mc Cann they were acceptable this year.
If we look at the left corner, we probably have the worst in both leagues, neither Anderson or Chipper supplied the necessary offensive to compensate for their poor defensive (not only the errors but field coverage).
The only good defensive line we had was the right corner.
With a team like that behind them the pitchers couldn't do much more, they are all worn.
Still, in my opinion after the all star brake we had a good chance to win the wild-card, but turning points were the bad decision of sending Conrad back to the minors over Norton, the Mc Clouth injure and Chipper's worst slump of his career, for me if none of the above happened we were at this moment in fist place of the wild-card race.
Bobby, the front office and the scouts all of them are doing a terrible job selecting the players (looks like they are driving the car using the low beam in a very dark night!), they have lost the magic touch and are gambling in mediocre players, the formula of having 10 mediocre and cheap players is not working for more than 5 years, so I hope they move to another plan, for me is better to dump all those mediocre players, and replace them with at least one all star and fill the rest positions with rookies, take the Marlins scout advice if necessary , they are doing better with less money.
