Is there any chance that Bobby Cox would get fired because he has made some terrible decisions this year.

Just another example of Booby's game judgement. He leaves pitches in to long, usues the same guys in the bullpen, While other pitchers on the roster just sit and watch and the announcers on braves tv talk about how tired the bullpen is. Some havent pitched in a week. Cox needs to get thrown out of some games sooner so the right players might be used. Norton is useless as a pinchhitter, he comes in needing a fly ball and David Ross its because hes a backup catcher. If the Braves arent going to use these guys in the bullpen why keep them on the roster.

I have said this before that this Braves team is good enough to make the playoffs but won"t because of bad manager and coaching decisions, Norton is an embarrasement and Cox is worse for not getting rid of him( Corky Miller last season) there is no use trying to improve this team when you have sub-par coaching , our defensive positioning is a joke, 3rd base coaching really bad, our Mgr. makes bad decisions or waits too long to make a decision, we have completely turned over our roster and now it is time to turnover our coaching staff.

Mark,

Did you see Carroll's article on Greg Norton? (Bobby Cox says he still has confidence in Greg Norton, and how Norton is still hitting the ball good, and he is contributing in other ways).

What did you think about the article?

cox has lost it, plain & simple. his stubborn refusal to see the obvious (schafer, kelly, francoeur, norton, bennett, etc) has cost us 10 games at least this year. it's cost us the season. brutal to watch. absolutely brutal. eg--medlen last night. why is it joe simpson knows more about kris medlen than bobby cox does?

It comes down to this: one of Bobby's weaknesses is that he is loyal to a fault to his veterans. There are so many examples over the years--like putting Brian Jordan on the playoff roster in "05 when he was clearly washed-up.
His other big weakness is as an in-game strategist. I believe a manager weak in that area can cost his team 3 or 4 games a year. And that can make all the difference in a tight pennant race.
Bobby will make it into the Hall of Fame when his mananging career is done. However, he is not even in the top three managers of his time.
La Russa, Torre and Leyland are all better managers that Cox

Is there any chance that Bobby is wagering on games? It is the only explaination I can think of to explain his continuing to pinch hit Norton

Norton makes a miilion per year. Thats $100,000 per hit. A switch hitter that can't hit is like having ocean front property in Arizona.
I have always rationalized Bobby Cox decisions but this is not spring training. this is suicidal . Cox brain is fried. Fire Cox and release Norton
