I'm thinking a Phillies sweep!! You guys have solid pitching but a putrid lineup. We took out JJ and thats who I was most concerned about.

Hey fair weather Braves fans and uninformed Braves beat writers, get ready to get blown up by the Defending World Champs. Keep talking smack about your pitching advantage.

Cox is a fool. He is the one always in love with the lefty/righty thing, yet he starts the 9th with the righty Soriano (who has been serving up homers like hashbrowns at the Waffle House) to pitch to the lefty slugger Howard? Wha?...

I am a Braves fan since going to high school in Marietta and watching Glenn Hubbard play 2nd base and I have been a Bobby Cox supporter for all the years, despite the criticism. I've lived in Philly for 8 years now but still support the Bravos. But, I've gotta tell ya. I am now off the Bobby Cox bandwagon forever. Bobby Cox lost that game last night against the Phils. Why he insists on yanking, in this case, a 23 year old pitcher who is pitching another great game, in the prime of his career, after just over 100 pitches for absolutely no good reason at all is a mystery. So he brings in his set-up man in a tie game in the 8th?? Then his setup man makes everyone nervous but manages to get off the hook, like he often does, so what does Cox do?? Yank him, for no apparant reason, to bring in his struggling closer in the 9th (did I mention we are NOT ahead in this game, it is tied!!) to face the heart of defending champs batting order?? Result: Braves lose very important ballgame, for no good reason at all. There is no way a true winning manager like LaRussa, Torre, Leyland, etc. would make these dumb@$# moves for no reason at all. They actually try to win the games. I now am convinced that the braves will never win another championship with Bobby "no one will ever be allowed to finish a ballgame no matter how great they are pitching" Cox (a.k.a. Bobby "I will wear out these bullpen arms before September no matter what" Cox) as manager. It is true: he just doesn't get that "you play to win the game"!!

Glad after all those year in the lead you Braves fans have to speculate with desperation about how you can (or think you can) beat or sweep the Phils. You have a good team but let's face it, you are not good enough. For you this year...no wildcard, no division, and no playoffs! Your team will not leapfrog Florida nor will it get past the Rockies or Giants. You'll be respectable...but on outside looking in. I'm glad you’re competitive again but you are up against it and will stay that way for some time.

I realize I am writing this after Friday's game, however:
We are not playing in Philly (Cox and the TV announcers), looks like we have allot of warning track power.
McCann needs to quit trying to hit everything out, he needs to go back to what he does best, hit the ball to all fields.

Does anyone still pay attention? Why does Cox not pay attention? Is he too comfortable in his mediocrity? Because you know, he is really mediocre with pitchers. Nevermind, we must take the game tomorrow, Cox and all. He has his strengths - he does not get the "flow" of baseball.
