Mark,
What is the status of Jorge Campillo? He was a quiet plus in the Braves arsenal last season, and I had the sense that they expected him to have a significant role in the pen this year. Maybe he is part of the September callups that will give the Bravos that much more of a chance.

BTW: I still think Wild Card is more likely than the East.

This turn around didn't just happen. It is not some random event. This team is starting to believe and has developed heart. Why? Bobby Cox. To go to LA and take down the mighty Dodgers like they did-that was amazing. Cox is flat out managing his butt off and his players are responding.
We are watching one of his greatest coaching performances in what has been a long, stellar, and hall of fame career. ........Now if we could get Huddy back and one more good arm in the bullpen-it could get real interesting in Sept.

It's not 1 player that makes a team a winner.
Chipper is not the back bone of the team, maybe five year ago, he could carry the team, now he should be bench every couple of days.
The Braves can make a run for the pennant, only and if they want it bad enough, and Bobby Cox's uses common sense, over wise, another empty and fruitless year and another wait until next year.

Bradley,
Since you mentioned Bobby Cox's daughter, is she your wife? That would be the only logical explanation why you stick up for that buffoon.

I see that many of you on the blog are excited about Hudson in the starting lineup or the pen, but how has he been doing in his rehab assinments, and how can we expect him to perform so soon coming of major surgery. I may not be as optimistic as many here seems to be.

Don your 11.19am post is right on the Mark so I don't see how anyone in their right mind, who has been watching the games, could try to refute what you have stated. JF has gone but Matt Diaz is still playing and swings at everything, even Chipper recently had three outs on three pitches in a game. We have seen opposing pitchers retire three Braves middle of the order players on 5 and 6 pitches on a few occasions. Church has shown great patience at the plate and Chipper, Escobar and Prado usually do. However we wish to see the others in the lineup display more discipline.
