Vick to the Vikes? If the Vikes have any sense, absolutely

The Minnesota Vikings were willing to wait all summer on a 39-year-old prima donna who has nothing left. So yeah, they could do worse than a 29-year-old who has a point to prove. Yeah, I’m thinking Michael Dwayne Vick would look just dandy in purple.

The Vikings have no quarterback unless you count Tarvaris Jackson, which even the Vikings don’t. If they had a quarterback, they wouldn’t have prostrated themselves before the latest whims of Brett Favre. Michael Vick needs a job and is free to look for NFL work. (Perhaps you’d heard something about this.) So if you’re the Vikes, here’s what you do:

You tell your fans, “We know Vick comes with more baggage than Louis Vuitton, but we’ve got no choice. We’ve got a decent team that’s lacking at the most important position. We know some of you might have some reservations about his character, but would you rather us hire the nearest Eagle scout and do a Detroit? (Meaning: Go 0-16?) Or would you want us to take a chance on a guy who we absolutely know will want to play, as opposed to the fossil who just strung us along who never knows what the heck he wants?

“Would you? Thought you might.”

I’m thinking the notion of Michael Vick and Adrian Peterson in the same backfield might influence a few Viking backers to choose forgiveness over PETA-like lifelong wrath. (Shoot, I wouldn’t mind seeing that tandem myself.) I’m thinking folks in the Land of 10,000 Lakes recall what happened when last Mr. Vick played in the Twin Cities. And in case they’d forgotten … well, here you go.

The indignation about Vick being back in the NFL will last about as long as it takes him to score his first spectacular TD. If he has a big year, virtually all will be forgiven. It’s the nature of professional sport in America.

Vick to the vikings would be a good look for both. Vick needs to get on the field and start doing the things that made him special to begin with so people will barely remember what he did a la Kobe, Ray Lewis. On a related note PETA are a bunch of idiots, you got what you wanted, he was severely punished for what he did, leave him alone.

Given that they play on turf in a domed stadium, already have AP on the team and therefore an offensive line that knows how to block, given the troubles of TJ as a starter, and the fact that they considered the decrepit Favre, it certainly makes sense for the Vikings to consider MV. I don’t know if their coach has the mental toughness and the will to withstand the criticism that will explode to the surface at the first opportunity if he goes that route (especially given the football players behaving badly incident they had on that infamous birthday “booze/stripper” cruise a few years back). The hardest thing with deciding to go this route is the reality that with AP, all Minnesota needs is a quarterback who won’t hurt you with turnovers — something MV struggled with for awhile in terms of fumbles and interceptions. Think Trent Dilfer with the Ravens in 2000. Dilfer was basically awful so that minimized what he was expected to do—mainly hand off to Jamal Lewis and occasionally throw the ball to Shannon Sharpe. (You saw the same thing last year with the Ravens and their rookie QB by the way.). So all in all, MV is a risk that Minnesota doesn’t need to take.

The best hope for MV is someone brings him on board to run their Wildcat formation and he should hope and pray that a strong minded coach/GM with a track record to withstand criticism about the veracity of his decision making decides to bring MV on board with the best candidates being either Belichick [sp.] in NE (burned by Wildcat last year) or Parcells (his coach already uses Wildcat in Miami) as clearly both have the track record and the Super Bowls to do it no matter what anyone else things (and with Tony Dungy working with MV, they may both have a comfort level to try it).

Bradley, will the protest be as bad as we invision? He is working with the Humane Society and I believe the ASPCA (not sure if the acronym is correct) sent out a release that they hope he make enough of his second chance. The only group to be concerned about is PETA and they have lost a lot of credibilty with a lot of people the brain scan and calling out the President for killing a fly. Seriously for all of those who say they will “boycott” the NFL if Vick returns is absurb. Can anyone stay away from this game?

Vick was too stupid to learn the Falcons playbook, no matter how much they “dumbed it down,” simplified it and scapegoated intelligent offensive coordinators for his benefit.

It’s not up to any of us as to whether or not a team is willing to withstand the likes of PETA and others in signing Michael Vick. Only time will tell if his “remorse” is real. Surely he has been humbled but I can say that most Falcons fans are not sorry to see him gone, not glad because he got himself into trouble, but it just wasn’t happening in Atlanta – coaching and playing did not equal wins. Matthew Ryan has given the Falcons a new start, the Falcons have released Vick so if another team (surprisingly the Cowboys don’t want him but then they are married to Tony Romo and don’t want an ugly divorce) wants him, so be it. Michael Vick proved that if you hang around with dogs, you get fleas and that cost him pretty much everything to this point.

Vick to shock the world??? Puleeeze. Anyone who thinks he’s going to be as good (?) as he was before his incarceration, is either delusional or stupid. Vick will be a project at QB for whoever takes a chance on him. It’s not like he was Tom Effing Brady as a passer. His greatest attribute was always his elusiveness, and who knows how long it will take him to get his instincts back, or if he even has anything close to what he had in physical ability.

He had better start thinking about Canada…..Or maybe he could be the savior for the Arena Football League….yeah, that’s it ! A 50 yard field, a bunch of guys who couldn’t play major college football, and a chaotic pace to the games…Vick’s perfect environment.

It’s going to be difficult to maintain the homeboys, the “ho’s”, fancy cars, and mansions on an AFL salary, but it’s a start.

The reason the Vikings went after Farve was because of his throwing ability. The NFL is way past the stage of the running QB of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. As much ability as Vick has as a runner, his passing abilities are not good. He has an arm, but cannot hit a target. In the most simple offense under Mora, he could only complete 50% of his passes.

Yes, he paid...

I’m not sure why any team would want Vick as a QB? And honestly I don’t think there are any teams interested. He’s the most overrated QB ever to play the game. Check out the stats. He can’t complete passes in the pocket. He had 1 good season where he took us to the playoffs but other than that, he can’t win games in the NFL. Once teams starting to realize all he could do was run, they just kept LB’s in the box and spyed on him the entire time. He was completely inaffective. And now that he’s been out of the league for 2 years, he can’t be any better than he was before. He’s no doubt one of the most athletic players I’ve ever seen but he can’t play the QB position. I think he can help a team in some fashion, whether it be lining up in the slot or maybe in the wildcat formation for a couple plays a game. At this point, he’s not worth paying over the league min.

If I remember correctly this is America and our justice system is the best in the world, it’s not perfect, but the best. Michael Vick was convicted of a crime and did his time in prison. He is now out of prison having fulfilled his duties. If you or I were convicted of the same thing I can promise you we would not have gone to prison, he has been made a scapegoat for all to us. Mind you, I am not defending him personally, it is what it is. A crime is a crime and consequences should be paid. He has paid them. Now on the other hand, all he knows is football and being a Falcon fan I will miss some of his spectacular plays. He needs to be picked up by someone, even possibly as a tailback or running back. He has way too much talent to be dismissed. Remember all the other thugs being paid millions out there in the NFL, why should he be treated differently. We need to send this article and all comments to the Minnesota Vikings and to all of the news outlets in Minnesota to help Mike’s Back To NFL Football campaign. Michael Vick is a perfect fit for the Vikings. Let’s be supportive and pray that he will have the strength and stamina needed to move past the mess and go on to have an outstanding NFL career and a wonderful life. Much love to you MV7. You were bamboozled, and the Falcons Organization were the ring leaders of the bamboozlement and left you twisting in the wind like a used candy wrapper. The NFL’s hands aren’t clean on this either, but you have to work and your occupation is NFL Football player. Obviously, every owner in the league has or is doing a risk/reward analysis on MV.

I think teams like the Vikes (borderline playoff teams with iffy QB’s) have the biggest risk with him.

Signing Vick today would affect the locker room on many levels. First, you’d have the ridiculous media frenzy – the first question to every player is going to be about their ex-con back up QB. You know some players already think Tavaris Jackson sucks – the first conversation in the lockerroom where someone says they can’t wait till MV starts, you have division in the locker room.

If Tavaris Jackson plays well this year, you’ve brought on undue stress in the locker room.

If TJ doesn’t, at some point MV gets in. If MV plays great, all is well.

If, and this is the big if, MV hits the field and stinks, the organization could feel the effects for years. And I don’t think we’ll ever see a team be so lucky in bouncing back the way the Falcons did.

Risk/reward.

Still too many questions to know whether the Vikings’ signing Vick would be beneficial. Can he resolve his deficiencies as a passer that he displayed during his six seasons in Atlanta? Can he stay out of trouble? (He would be wise to embrace thoroughly the proposed mentoring from SB-winning coach Tony Dungy.) How much have what skills he had been adversely affected from not playing or training in the NFL for over two full seasons? Would the talent that this liar, convict and sadistic dog killer brings to the Vikes sufficiently offset the negative publicity that having him on the roster would surely generate? Too many key questions to get too excited about having the reinstated Vick in Minnesota or on any other team, for that matter.

He should be made to go to Utah and help rehabilitate the poor dogs he caused so much mental damage to . While he was cooling it in Fed Pen the people at Best Friends were trying to give the dogs a second chance to enjoy life. Anyone who hurts an animal does not deserve anything. I saw noting he did for Falcons. Its like Michael Jackson, no one stood by him till his famous comeback and now his friends are coming out of the wood work.We tend to forget and forgive sick, perverted people. I’m sure Michael Vick will go somewhere; I’m just glad he’s not back in Atlanta. He does carry a lot of baggage with him, but making a team a winner will cause everyone to forget all. I am a dog lover, big time, but he did serve his time and he is entitled to make/earn a living. I just don’t have to watch him, and I won’t. I won’t even watch Baltimore and Ray Lewis. Anyhow, I think the biggest problem with the NFL Commissioner, as it probably was with Arthur Blank, is that he just flat out lied to them — and to their face. Making Tony Dungy his mentor is, I think, a really good idea and maybe now Michael Vick realizes that it is, indeed, a privilege to work for and with the NFL.

The Vikings just said they have no interest in him . The more I think about it , the team that makes the most sense is Tampa . I’m sure Tony Dungy still has his share of friends in Tampa that would be willing to give him a look . To start he would only have to beat out Byron Leftwich . As I recall Leftwich couldn’t replace Chris Redman as Falcons starter a couple years back. Denver & Buffalo make sense to . Both organizations could use a spark & have iffy qb’s .

The Falcons should re-sign him, once everyone takes a pass, for the league minimum to do only two things: return punts and kickoffs. Hey Y’all:

I think Vick’s move to Minnesota would be great!!. Minnesota appears to be a “competitive team” that Vick would not have to do it alone. I would hate to see him go to a trashed, losing team where he would be left to the wolves of the NFL to get hurt. None of us Falcon fans want that due to Vick is a Falcon legend and we care for him. It is unfortunate that “his decisions” made him no longer a Falcon, but I know in Vicks heart it was not the Falcons fault but his that cause his departure from the Atlanta Falcons. Nevertheless, we Falcons Fans do care Vick’s success and hope he get’s with a good team so we can see him in the playoffs. But as a “Local Falcon Fan”, I more than believe that our Falcons will win out right. We will win in “ONE HEARTBEAT!!!!” as a TEAM. Therefore, I hope Vick gets with a good team so we can greet our “Falcon legend” with open arms when he reurns to Atlanta. In the name of “SPORTSMANSHIP”: I am glad he is back in the leauge, but sorry he will have to deal with the Atlanta Falcons. It will be a love and hate thing in wanting to defeat the team he is on where you hate the team but love the player.

Good luck Vick. You will always be a Falcon legend to me and many other fans, and to the Falcon organization.

I’ve been thinking this was the best option for Mike Vick and the Vikings for weeks. I also think the Commissioner handled this the right way. Vick did serve time for his crime, however; the NFL suspension was necessary as a punishment for lying to both the Commissioner and Arthur Blank. That is a totally separate offense. It will be interesting seeing Vick perform again. I’m just glad it won’t be with the Falcons. Matt Ryan is going to be incredible.

I love the blind assumptions that Vick can do something other than play QB, like return punts and kickoffs or play receiver. To my knowledge, the man has never caught a pass or kick in his professional or college career. Besides, low 4 second 40’s receivers/return men are a dime a dozen. What would make Vick special in that role?

What I am dying to know is if there is any way Vick is still the same player he was when he left? Even if we forget that his numbers were slipping and defenses seemed to have figured him (and the Bird’s offense) out, will he still have the same physical gifts that made him so fun to watch the first time around?

The farce we call a government let’s, hell pay’s these thieves to continue bending society over a barrel and American’s all over turn a blind eye and say, “Thank you, May I have another!” This is how truly ignorant America is. Getting robbed daily by Washington and they complain about a man who may never again get to perform his job. There are much larger problems with America Vick in the NFL and worse men in the game currently than he is. At least he served his time.

MV shouldn’t have been suspended for the 4-6 games he’s missing on top of everything in my opinion. But, at least he’ll have a chance to try and get a job again and that’s all he deserves. If they don’t hire him that’s his fault for what he did. No one made him make poor choices but he at least deserves the opportunity to try and get work again in his chosen profession.

Back in the 70’s Chuck Noll allowed the general public to vote for the Steeler’s starting QB. Joe Jefferson was playing very well. One problem, he was black. There are some who believe as Jimmy the Greek in that blacks lack the necessities to play QB. There are others who STILL believe that QB should be reserved for whites. The position itself is the most glamorous. Enter Mike Vike…He became the very first reason for people to denegrate a black QB. He gave you exactly what you wanted all along. This crusade of hatred doesn’t involve cruelty to dogs. It’s just your chance to say: I told you so.

Sex with animals? It’s not uncommon

By Alexis Stevens
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Two men, two animals in two different states. And two separate arrests within the last week for having sex with four-legged animals.

Clayton County Police Edwin Robles, 53, of Jonesboro, faces a felony bestiality charge.

No one’s really counting, but probably more people than you realize, according to an Atlanta psychiatrist.

Last week, Edwin Robles of Jonesboro was arrested by Clayton County police for allegedly having sex with his dog. Bestiality is a felony in Georgia, and Robles could face up to five years in prison if convicted.

On Wednesday, South Carolina police said Rodell Vereen was arrested for the second time for having sex with the same horse. He could face up to five years in prison for the latest buggery charge.

“It’s not as uncommon as one would think,” said Tracey Marks, a forensic psychiatrist who practices in Atlanta. “Dogs and farm animals are probably the most common occurrences.”

Like most sexually deviant behaviors, “zoophilia” is more common in men, Marks said. And now more than ever, it’s easier for the curious to explore sexual options.

“Just as people consider marijuana to be a gateway to other things, the Internet has been a gateway for [bestiality] to becoming more ordinary,” Marks said.

But having sex with animals isn’t just a freakish fetish. Many consider it to be animal abuse.

Laws preventing sex with animals differ from state to state, according to animallaw.info. At least a dozen states don’t have laws at all.

“It is shocking. It should be illegal in every state,” said Stephanie Bell with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. “It’s not a laughing matter. Even in cases where physical harm doesn’t occur to the animal, it’s still cruel.”

Because human sex with animals is not a topic many people are comfortable discussing, sometimes it takes a high-profile case to raise public awareness, Bell said.

In 2005, a Washington state man died after having sex with a horse. The 45-year-old suffered a perforated colon after being penetrated, according to police.

“It piqued the attention of the legislators,” Bell said.

The state now has a law making sex with an animal a felony.

In the current Georgia case, Robles has been accused of sexually assaulting two family members, according to Twis Lizasuain with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Robles previously lived in the Kissimmee, Fla., area.

During the investigation into those allegations, one of Robles’ relatives gave Florida police information that led the agency to contact Clayton County police.

“She also made reference to the fact that there may have been videos of him having sex with an animal,” Lizasuain said Wednesday. “She gave them the videotape.”

Robles has a previous 1999 fraud charge in Florida, according to Lizasuain. In February 2003, he was charged with two leash law violations in Clayton County. And on Wednesday, he was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian, according to the Clayton County courts docket.

It’s up to the state prosecutor’s office in Florida to determine if Robles will face charges in that state. But after posting $6,600 bond last week, Robles is out of jail. He’s expected to appear in Clayton County Magistrate Court for the bestiality charge on Aug. 11 at 8 a.m.

In addition to the legal problems, a person such as Robles would likely need treatment to avoid repeated similar behavior, Marks said.

“Typically the people who are involved with bestiality will have a difficult time being aroused by regular sex,” Marks said. “Many people will be very ashamed of it.”

Because of that shame, it is usually an outside force that will lead someone to seek treatment, such as a spouse’s demand or an incident with law enforcement.

“The treatment is behavioral therapy, which in generally involves decreasing the level of the arousal that people would have to this,” Marks said. “It’s hard not to laugh, but it’s a serious condition.”

If any of us went to jail for 2 years, how many of us would get our old jobs back? I say none. So there is no “right” to going back to the NFL either.

That said, I really do not care if someone takes a flyer on him. I do wonder about his mental makeup – how many times have we read about some demented individual, only to find as a child they mistreated animals? The man may be mentally ill.

Vick should NEVER be allowed to come back to the NFL. Vick has basically three choices of where to play football. 1) Arena Football League 2) Canadian Football League or 3) USFL Vick should be banned from playing football in the NFL. Because the same way that sex offenders and child molesters are banned from being around other citizens and children; the same way a dog killer should be banned from being around other people. Vick brought this upon himself and no one will ever trust him again. Its not so much that Vick lied to Arthur Blank, Falcons management, Roger Goddell, Vick lied to everyone who was in his path. Vick is a pathological liar and someone like that doesnt have respect for humanity. I think the best place for Mike Vick at this time would be to be put in a cage at the Bronx Zoo or some Zoo in Virginia. Vick should not be turned loose on society where he is a menace to society.

I agree with Justice 4 All. I too was surprised this week by the hideous behavior of the two gentlemen who had sex with animals (beastiability and buggery; dog and horse respectively). I was completely stunned when I heard about it but at the same time I said to myself this sounds like something Michael Vick would do. Keep Vick out of the NFL until he has been thoroughly cleansed.

Bad Knewz Kennels. That is sick and I do NOT have to forgive him.

You know, you can make this about race people, but that is hiding your head in the sand. It is your problem not ours. I can dislike the man because of his lack character you know.

He was our team leader, the Big Man on The Team, and what did he do?

He let you down, me down, his team down and his family down knowing he was committing a crime.

Hey, let the man earn a living I agree! I do, he paid his debt.

But I do not like the man because he is a jerk, and sick and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

Some of you are too young to remember the cop show in the ’70s Baretta, staring Robert Blake. Baretta used to say “Dont do the crime if you cant to the time”, Yeah, Dont Do It! Vick has certainly done the time, but he is not remorseful for doing the crime. Vick hasnt said one word since he’s been released from jail. The first story I heard about Vick after his release is that he was spotted in a nightclub with Alan Iverson. Vick denied it, but I bet Vick was at the nightclub. Vick is a jerk and although I dont see this as a race problem, many folks have made it to be a race problem. Its certainly not race because remember when Jose Canseco wanted to continue playing baseball, he was banned from baseball and he was white. Had Jose been allowed to play baseball for another five or six years, he would have eclipsed 500 home runs for his career and would have compiled HOF numbers. Vick messed up and I think Vick will continue messing up time after time. I hope thats not true, but that is how I see it. Like I said earlier, there are certain guys who make a living blowing opportunities and screwing up their lives. Vick is one of those guys who just cant help himself and he will screw up again. Vick should be drowned, electrocuted or burned alive. Vick should receive the same treatment as those poor innocent dogs that he willfully and viciously killed.

Vick is a vicious and inhumane animal who should not be given an opportunity to work anywhere. While he’s “paid his debt” as his fawning, lemming fans point out, he’s inherently and grotesquely evil and he deserves nothing but the very same treatment he afforded his dogs.

Everybody deserves a second chance! When a dog attacks, it should be put to sleep. When a human mistreats animals they should be punished but not thrown under the table. Just imagine if someone you cared about was mistreating animals. Wouldn’t you want them to have a second chance or would you want the animals to ruin your loved ones life? I think PETA is a joke! Animals are not above humans and should never be treated like they are. I wish people would protest against PETA for not leaving MV alone. MV has paid his dept to society. He has been punished more severly than anyone I have ever heard of for mistreating animals. People all over the country are treating animals the same or worse than MV, but we never hear about that because it’s not that big of an issue compared to the problems people face everyday. I especially have no sympathy for Pit Bulls! Pit Bulls attack children an a regular basis. I think for every one Pitt Bull attack on a child 100 Pitt Bulls should be put down. So if you think about it, what MV did to those dogs doen’t compare to what one Pitt Bull as done to a child.

I remember the Minnisota play. Thought he was great and very exciting to watch. Then, the next couple of years after being hit a few times, he quit cutting upfield. Several 8 to 12 yard runs to the sidelines, but no long runs cutting up the middle. You can fool yourself that Vick is an NFL passer but look how bad the receivers were in Atlanta and how much better they are now that Vick is gone. Receivers run routes that require timing. If Vick is dodging and running in circles in the backfield, that disrupts the route.

Vick would be a great fit with the running game he can produce, especially with the speed he must have used to get away from the cops and PETA before heading to prison. I have been a die hard Vikings fan my whole life (lived in MN too damn long – residing in AK now), and it seems that getting a descent QB is always are biggest problem. I guess what would it hurt-let the man play and prove he may still have a worth in society.

Lets all assume for one minute that Mike Vick is truly remorseful for his crimes and he is really sorry that he committed dogfighting. Roger Goddell gives Vick a 6 game suspension as a slap in the face just to make an example out of Vick, really just piling on. So what, big deal. Now Vick all of a sudden comes back, tears up the league again becomes the league MVP, beating out Tom Brady and Peyton Manning AND guides his team (maybe the Detroit Lions) to a superbowl Vick-tory. Will we all forget that Vick committed the heinous act of dogfighting? No we will torture Mike Vick until the day he dies. So Vick is absolutely in a no win situation. It would be something if Vick did all of this and then he was busted again, this time for bankrolling a pig fighting ring. He ended up having about 190 pigs stored in his basement, fighting them in weekly fights. My whole point of all this is not to make fun of Vick, but dont just assume that Vick will screw up again. Vick may have learned his lesson and will be a model citizen for now on. Just give him a chance to prove himself. Thats all I have to say.

Well considering rapists get less time for what they do in our justice system in some states compared to what Vick served for hurting animals I believe the man has paid his debt to society…let him play and let him play in the NFL..Vikes make a good choice Mark and I think he would help them under the tutalege of Brad Childress who seems to be a patient coach who would hopefully tutor Vick into becoming a better thrower. He already has the legs to still compete and be one of the best. What he did was wrong and he’s paid the debt- lets move on..and give him at least the chance to play football again.

I really dont care that Vick served time in the federal penitentiary. He should have had a life sentence with no chance for parole. Every time I think about Michael Vick I want to go to the bathroom and throw up; and to think that this disgusting, grotesque, inhumane, vicious, savage beast is going to be allowed to play football on Sunday afternoons. Wow! The stars must have lined up in heaven for Vick to get this opportunity to come back after the unforgivable, disgusting crimes that he committed so viciously with absolutely no regard for the law whatsoever.

I didn’t even know that is how you spelled “Louis Vuitton”. Bravo.

One issue I had with Vick in the latter years of his Falcons career is his desire to be better (playing wise, not character). In the early days he dazzled, then the league seemed to get better and more equipped to handle him, but he stayed the same, thus a drop-off in the dazzle. Remember, it took him quite a while to throw a pick his first starting QB season. There was a pick he threw in, maybe ‘05 or ‘06, (may have been a fumble, not sure) and he made a half-hearted effort in trying to bring the interceptor down (if he made one at all). The commentator on TV mentioned his lack of effort in that play in light of his speed and athleticism.

Am I alone with this?

I am amazed at how the NFL community and sports fans in general have treated Michael Vick. Vick engaged in dogfighting (a misdemeaner) and certainly not something considered that severe. This crime is NOT in the category of rape, murder, child molestation or even armed robbery and burglary. Yet people are treating Vick as if he is a serial killer. He was a serial killer of dogs but that’s about it. And I dont know what all the venem and hatred that is directed towards him. I remember when Kobe Bryant was accused of rape, I lost respect for Kobe and never was the same fan towards him. I still like Kobe today and think he is one of the five greatest NBA players of all times. But when Kobe was exonerated from his rape trial, he was completely embraced by the sports world again and his standing in the NBA and with endorsements were restored 150%. When Ben Rothesberger was accused of rape, for the first few days ESPN wouldnt even cover the story because they didn’t want to damage Ben’s reputation and they were protecting him. If Ben is exonerated he will lose no endorsements and will keep his standing in the community and in the NFL. Vick is being used an example for a rags to riches story and then someone who had it all was at the pinnacle of success; was filthy rich and then lost it all and become incredibally broke and lost his reputation as well. Now Vick has to start over again from scratch and I don’t believe he will get a job in the NFL. The owners are colluding against him and they have blackballed him from getting a job with any of the NFL clubs. Vicks only alternative now would be a garbage truck driver, if he is lucky enough to snag that job.

Vick has paid his debt to society…he should be allowed back in and i hope he’s a great ‘comeback’ story in the end…. sadly, no, the dogs that were vicimized and killed because of Vick’s twisted view on morals didn’t get a second chance, but how could you NOT want MV to succeed? If he has repented, then he should get the chance. PETA got what they wanted when he went to prison…if they continue to badger this man, then they’ll see a backlash that they might not recover…not many take them seriously anymore, anyway!

Now that Brett Farve has decided to stay out in retirement, maybe Vick can sign with the Minnesota Vikings. With the NFLs best rusher Adrian Peterson already there, coupled with Vick potentially winning the starting quarterback job in preseason, the Minnesota Vickings with the acquisition of Mike Vick would have the MOST LETHAL running game in NFL history. Peterson would get his thousand yards rushing, Vick would get his thousand yards rushing plus Vick would probably pass for 4000 to 5000 yards as well. Wouldnt it be amazing for Vick to prove all the haters wrong by going out and winning the superbowl this year with the Minnesota Vikings after being slammed and treated so harshly by hateful fans, doubting thomases and an NFL commissioner who has piled on unnecessary punishment. The Vikings should contact Vicks agent immediately following the posting of this BLOG.

Vick deserves a chance to play football in the NFL. Ray Lewis was accused of murder and still is playing football in the league. Ben Rothisburger was accused recently of rape and he is still allowed to play football. Kobe Bryant in the NBA was accused of rape in a Colorado hotel and still lived to win an NBA championship this past season. Athletes have slipped up in the past and made mistakes and they have ALL been given second chances. The only person who has been denied a second chance has been Michael Vick and that is because people out there hate Vick because of primarily two reasons and two reasons only and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with dogfighting. One, Vick is a gifted BLACK athlete and blacks are still hated very much in our society. Secondly, Vick is better than 28 of the 32 starting quarterbacks in the league so people are jealous of his incredible skills and they want to keep him down. These are the only two reasons why Vick has been blackballed and it has absolutely nothing to do with dogfighting and Vick paying his debt to society. If Vick were white he would have been allowed to come back and would have been praised for being such a well behaved prisoner.

Freakin Idiots!!! I’m sick of hearing the phrase “he committed a felon”! Dog fighting shouldn’t be a felony, period. What should be a felony is a hockey player (Danny Heatley) killing a teammate while driving foolishly. what should be a felon is admitting to slapping your wife around (Bobby Cox). If every imaginable crime against another HUMAN is not a felony, then there’s no way in the HELL that breeding dogs to fight, and killing the less capable dogs, should be a felony. You idiots that continue to DOG Vick are the same ones that would get down on your knees to pray for your pedophile priest for raping little boys, asking for him to receive forgiveness. Do you think they picket the company that makes RAID. MV deserves a shot anywhere but in Atlanta. He burned too many bridges here. I would like for him to play in Tampa. I enjoy watching his pure athletic ability. I do not have to like the person to love his ability. I believe that I understand why the comish does not want him to be the lead story on opening day. I also believe that if he has the freedom and does not abuse it again he could make a couple of dollars in the next few years. Maybe he could pay the Falcons back the Money that he owes them. To all the fans who don’t know, Vick has been reinstated in the NFL. That means, if all things being equal, Vick should have several jobs lined up ready for him to choose one. Unfortunately, people simply have not forgiven Vick and therefore Vick may not get a chance to play in the NFL. Its ok, however, because there is always the Arena Footbal League, the Canadian Football Leagues, the USFL and may other legaues for Vick to play football in. If Vick gets stranded without any team at all, I think Vick should retire and go home to Virginia to bag groceries at the local Kroger there. Its no shame to do that, Kurt Warner used to do something like that. Vick was wrong to fight dogs, but he was even more wrong to cover it up and lie about it. Vick should give up his search to play in the NFL and take a visit to the unemployment line. Collecting welfare never hurt anyone especially someone whose life will soon depend upon it.
