Why in the world is the talk about rtading Escobar. I can see trading that broken down Chipper in a heart beat and put Prado over there for the remainder. Chipper can't go a full week without something ailing him, if he runs or swings the bat. Gezzz the Braves had spped in the past and trade it or never re-sign the players and now the talk is the need spped. The guys they have in their line-up couldn't steal from the candy lady. The players don't even look to put any pressure on the opposing pitchers when they get on unless Cox has the hit and run sign called. Trade Johnson or put him back in the outfield he is not an infielder. Stop trading all our talent away regardless of what we have in the farm system for these 2 month projects that don't re-sign with us in the off-season. Better yet you had the opportunity to get Andruw Jones for peanuts and the Braves chose to go with the kid who can't handle the big leagues and a prime example is you go out now and trade for a guy that plays that position so what does that say to him what the Braves think about him now hmmmmmm. The Braves should leave well enough alone and just win with what they got. Bring up Hayward and let him get experience and stop trading prime players to get you over the hump. When you broke camp in Fl. supposedly this was the team you thought could compete so live with it and cut your ties with Bobby Cox and Frank Wren can go with him. He needs to realize he is not John Schurholtz too no where near.

Buster Olney is no better than a pie-in-the-sky fan rosterbating on an internet message board such as this one. Contributing to his column and this one will both make a fan go blind or grow hair on their palms. Of course, I won't deny the extra number of pages on the blog that this seems to create. For some reason, people love doing it. The Braves, however, should not trade Escobar or Vazquez for anything other than a SIGNIFICANT haul. The Dunn suggestion is obnoxious because he makes too much money for us to take on even if you don't believe their GM when he says he won't trade Dunn. Giving up Vazquez for Corey Hart would be an absolute fleecing by the Brewers.

I don't believe that Escobar is disliked by either Bobby or management like some of the baseless speculators out there. We will hold onto him and be better for it. I could see trading Vazquez for a huge haul of prospects if we fall completely out of the race but don't think we would get comparable value if we traded him for a current major leaguer.

May not be able to trade Esco IF he has a bad back. Really wish the Braves would keep both Esco and Vazquez. Trade someone else to get that big bat. Maybe Hudson?

What about the Orioles they have 4 super Of's, Adam Jones 13hrs, L Scott 16 hrs, Markakis 8 hrs, Nolan Reinold 9 hrs, the oldest being Scott 31. the other 3 under 26 years old.

Escobar for one of the above outfielders and Cesar Tzturis ss hitting 264. are Robert Andino SS hitting 250.

Throw in someone else and get Brian Roberts in the deal. Don't trade Javy.

Trading Javier Vazquez would be a dumb move for the Braves to make. He has the right physical tools, and more importantly, the right attitude to become a dominant pitcher in the league. I like the way he's willing to challenge the hitters at the right time rather than try to "paint the corners."
That's the kind of pitcher who'll win playoff games for you with the right coaching.
The Braves will be better off trading Hudson for the Dodgers' Juan Pierre. Enough of the BIg Bat Theory. Get a bonafide Leadoff hitter with speed who can spark an offense and generate runs when the bats are quiet. As I recall, the last time the Braves had that weapon (Otis Nixon 1991) they went from worst to first.

Frenchy moved for Ryan Church. Braves win in this deal, I believe. I just don't understand why Vazquez' name is being thrown around in trade talks. He's been great for the ATL, even if he doesn't have a lot of wins.

If the Braves need relivers so bad, hwy do they have Medlen (28.1 Inn), Logan (4.2 Inn) and Valdez (who is he?) on the roster? Medlen is like Schaffer...not ready for the BIGS!!! Another question is where have all of these wuzzies come from on the team? Guys like Aaron, Murphy, Matthews, Adcock, Spahn, Logan, Torre all played without maing the DL, and didn't make near the money these guys of today make.

Why trade Escobar ? He's doing a fine job and has finally gotten rid of the hot-dog attitude. The Francouer trade is what was needed so lets go forward from here. What pitching do the Braves need at this point ? Huddy will be back soon. The only batting problem has been
Francoeur and lets give the Church trade a chance before we begin to think we're smarter than Wren.

The Braves need to be bystanders here. Wait for the free agent crop this coming offseason. Escobar will get back on track. He doesn't want to become what Andruw Jones did, and why trade vasquez just yet. Wait for Hudson to get back, then we'll have a surplus of pitchers, and barter for a better deal. Frenchy, however, needs to go back to basics i think, or he's gone.
