Thank you soooooo! much for you column regarding the cheaters. It is really disheartening when you have trained so hard for this race.
Who do they think they are fooling except themselves.
Why doesn't the Atlanta Track Club just sell shirts saying "I just wanted the shirt I cant't really walk or run a 10K!"

Absolutely agree re: the cheating. The individual consciences of the guilty parties should surface and state what should have been obvious from the outset. And if it doesn't work that way then being guilty of cheating in the Peachtree Road Race is just the tip of a mammoth iceberg.
Even more irritating to this participant is the practice of the few "elite" (read: faster) runners that show the new T-shirts to all of the people still working towards their goal of being surprised when they open their own hard-earned goodie bag.
Those vents having been released and dissipated, I still look forward to next year already when my son and other friends and I will celebrate our collective approximately 80 years of the Peachtree.

I just finished my 30th Peachtree. I saw a young lady at the 5 mile mark without a hint of sweat getting a cup of water; it took everything in my soul not to ask her...when did you start running? I realize after 3 decades of running this is now an event not a Race but try STARTING WITH EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!
