Mark, USA Today also ranked the Thrashers as one of the top 10 at the draft this weekend. The general consensus is that the team did very well.

We drafted five skaters ranked in the top 85 North American skaters by Central Scouting (Kane-3, Morin-33, Bubnick-55, Chiarot-79, Koper-84). Klingberg was ranked 7th among European skaters and Pasquale was the 3rd-ranked North American goaltender. Samuels-Thomas and Sol were ranked 190 and 192 respectively among North American skaters. While we reached a bit for Sol as a 5th rounder taken 125th overall, S-T was our last pick at 203.

Overall, Waddell and Co. nailed it. Whether hindsight is still as favorable another 3 or 4 years down the road, we'll just have to cross our fingers and hope so.

I think the Thrashers had the best draft of the two and that's saying something. I believe this is our best draft since we got Kovy. Kane is a legit center who can skate and fight. The Thrashers can never have too much toughness.

In regard to the above, Mark, I like you. I don't like how you threw a black cat into the room last year with your Labor Day prediction of the Braves, but I like you all the same...

MB-it all depends on how much money ASG gives him. There's plenty of talent out there, more being bought out in anticipation of modnight tomorrow, when free agency begins. Should be fun.

Starting lineup:
Bibby(1), Crawford(2)
J Smith (3), Murphy(5), Hortford(4)
Backups: Bigs - Hibbert(1), Zaza(1), S Jones(1,4), Hibbert can play center Murphy PF some which give twin tower look.

Terrell, I have season tickets ( I am not renewing because they didn't get rid of Woody) and went to all but six games at home. I also catch a lot of the road games on T.V. and went to the Chicago/Hawks game this year on the road. So I think I qualify as "watching the games" and I can hear him from my seats and again the N.B.A refs don't take to constant whining. So maybe he needs to learn how to pick and choose his battles and maybe he could win a few. Now ... it just falls on deaf ears! And not just to the refs! Next subject Terrell!

Crawford (nor Teague, from what I've seen of him) is not a distributor, per se, it's true.

But I think you can run a guy like Crawford 60/40 point/shooting guard if your off guard is also able to distribute, which Joe is. He's kind of 40/60 (plenty of times he gave Bibby a break and ran the offense).

If we had, say, Michael Redd at the 2, it wouldn't work. But this might.
