Any so-called pro football pundit who doesn't have Knowshon Moreno as a first round draft choice - especially if such opinion is based on Moreno's 4.5 - 4.6 40 yard dash time - should submit themselves to mental evaluation and treatment. In fact, if Moreno is still on the board when the Falcon's pick, I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta scooped him up as he would no doubt be the "best player available" at the time and you can never have enough stud running backs in the NFL with all the injuries.

Seems like it took all 14 years for the national sports folk to finally accept the fact that if they kept betting against the Braves, they would lose. So much so they kept picking us in '06 and '07, only to find out that the magic had worn thin...and hardly any bothered to pick us last year. Now they've reverted to the 'pre-14 run' attitude and won't believe that 'weerrr back' until we're up by a half dozen at the All-Star Break. Maybe we won't make the playoffs this year, but I've enjoyed these first two games about as much as any ever, and I'm confident that we'll be enjoying baseball in September again this season.

Mitchell... RIGHT ON concerning the Dylan tribute concert at MSG... all of those that you mentioned were spot on, and for good measure I'll throw that backing band in on that too. Simply, they are talented and awesome in their own right.

I have saved the MTV version of that and have seen and heard the raw version, sans post production and repairs. On Dylan's featured verse you can't audibly distinguish two words sung, but still it's great stuff and just part of who Dylan is. (Kinda like pointing out that Bob Hope had a big nose... who cares, it's part of his being and personna.) Watched it again earlier tonight and I get chills every time... so much talent on one stage doing one tune! Young & Clapton's guitar work is simply classic Young & Clapton and that's indescribable IMO.

To stay on topic here... the Braves just finished off the world champs for the second straight game, and a shut out to boot. I know it's early and it's a long time 'til October 1st, but I have a very good feeling about this team.

And MB... about the Leyritz comment... how could you?!? My hard drive nearly had it expelled...

Skeezix, the Leyritz game happened to air one night while I was at spring training. I watched it for about the 10th time. Still can't believe it. (And I was sitting in the auxiliary press box the night in question.)

Mark: It should be against all rules to bring up the Leyritz nightmare. It is too painful for this Braves fan to endure. Got to go now and call the shrink.

Jason I agree with your statement on their lack of knowledge and research. Jon Miller said something Sunday along the lines of "where did the Braves get all this power?" My brother and I, who have literally been lifelong Braves fans, just sat there and laughed.

The Braves have never really had a problem with power. A few years ago the team was what... first or second in HRs in the league? These last 4 drought years were because of unreliable pitching and this year that's been rectified. When you start Glavine as your 5th man, you're pretty stout.

Miller's comment just shows they don't know anything that's not BoSox and Yanks. If they would've done their jobs this offseason they would've seen the Braves will be good this year. To steal a line from Major League II: "They're a powderkeg."

I tend to take what the so called "experts" pick with a grain of salt. There's nobody that can accurately decide a winner based upon science or a "hunch". Games still have to be played on the field. In 1996, the high school team I played for was ranked #1 to start the season. We lost that first game and never got back to that so called spot we were picked to be.

I think in football, it's easier to predict the winners, but you will get surprised(USC losing to a Pac-10 team comes to mind), because in baseball, you can have all the talent in the world, but if a pitcher is on, that talent doesn't matter anymore, and that weaker team suddenly becomes their equal.

So I say let them keep picking the NE teams year after year. It will only show their lack of actual research and/or knowledge about every team they are supposed to cover.

And as far as Michael Vick goes, I'm pretty tired of it already. Who knows if that judge acted unbiased in the situation, can never know for sure. I really just wish that they could say okay, this is what you owe, i don't care how you get the money as long as it's legal, here's the time frame, and if it's not done, well it's time to pay again in time served
