Playing in Jacksonville each year is a big time advantage for the Gators. It would be the same as playing Auburn every year in Birmingham. Guess Auburn would probably go for that? Nobody from UGA would ever sign on for that. I would like to see the game alternate between Jacksonville and Atlanta each year, then neither team would have a true home field advantage.
When we had the high school All-Star Game between Georgia and Florida High School All-Stars, it was a tremendous advantage to have the game played in Florida for the Florida All-Stars. Despite repeated attempts to get the game moved to Atlanta, the Florida people always resisted. When the game was finally moved to Atlanta, Florida got their a$$es kicked about 4 straight years, and guess what...they cancelled the game....didn't want to play anymore...are you worried about 4 days of golf and your social life more than you are worried about the Dawgs competing on a level playing field. I will promise you that the University of Florida would not be continuing to come to Atlanta if the situation were reversed...

This game has been extremely lop-sided for the better part of the last quarter century. I've been a Georgia fan since my family moved there in 81. I've never had the pleasure of being at the world's largest outdoor cocktail party. I'm sure it's a great time. But I'd rather have UGA have a competive balance to their schedule, and I don't know how anybody can say that they don't end up playing another road game and give Florida the home-field advantage with that game.

I completely believe that has been a factor in all those defeats. The fact that Florida was just plain better most of those years is the biggest factor. I still think it is stupid upon stupid to keep this game as is.

Once out of every four years is not enough. They should rotate every other year or if they want a true neutral site, play it in the Superdome in Louisiana. Pretty much equal distance for both schools and fans. I think New Orleans would be a lot more fun for Dawg fans than Jacksonville.

If you "real" Dawg fans like the set up so much, why not throw away all the home games and play all road games at neutral sites. Drink it up. Party all night and watch the Bulldogs start losing more and more frequently.

I don't know where or when this "tradition" first started, but it's dated and needs to either go to a Home and Home schedule or play every other year in the Georgia dome or another site, not in Georgia or Florida.

Play the game in 93,000+ Sanford Stadium every other year, and add Clemson back to the schedule.

Every year that we play Florida in Athens, we could play Clemson at Clemson.

Every year that we play Florida away, we could play Clemson at home.

We would still get Tech home and away each year.

And we could schedule a major power from outside the South home and away every year.

No more Tennessee Tech's and Western Kentuckys.

Mark, Fans of other schools envy the Georgia-Florida tradition. I can't tell you how many Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers, and other school's fans who plan to go to the World's Largest Cocktail Party in Jaxville some day. It is legendary, a holy institution. Leave it alone.

Dear Mark, Does not matter if the game is played in Jacksonville, Atlanta, Tampa, Charlotte, the Polo Grounds or the Moultrie Civitan Field. The Georgia Bulldogs are coached by a puffed up Botoxed face cretin who would rather formulate plans for excursions into Uzbekistan. That is a nobel undertaking, BUT he is paid to coach and defeat the University of Florida anmd once in awhiule win a National Championship Game. The former Boca Raton High School marginal player is 2-7 against Florida. That includes a 2-7 against Ron Zook that should have resulted in an immediate dismissal.

And Brewdawg, I think we can assume from Grant going to Tuscaloosa that Billy Donovan won't be headed to Lexington. The Cats will probably chase Tom Izzo and Rick Barnes, in that order.

I don't know for sure that Georgia didn't approach Grant, but the last I heard was that the Bulldogs hadn't sought permission from VCU.

Now, if you're asking, "Why wouldn't Georgia seek permission?", here's my answer: I have no idea.
