For your weekend entertainment pleasure — at least if you’re a nerd like me — I present:
Feels like it needs a bit more, huh? How about:
That’s better.
All joking aside, this is a pretty neat interactive site created by Christine Ries, an economist at Georgia Tech and member of the special council on tax reform which the Legislature created three years ago to produce reform recommendations. Reform recommendations it largely went on to ignore, that is.
But, had those recommendations not largely been ignored, there would be no reason for Tax Reform: The Game. In it, Ries has included several of the recommendations the council made. Players can mix and match them — and see how their choices would affect state revenues.
Here’s a preview of what it looks like, though you’ll have to click through one of the links above to actually play the game:
And if fiscal fun isn’t your idea of a good time this weekend, feel free to use the thread below to discuss other topics.
(H/t to, and more information about the game available at the site of, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.)

Dick Cheney, a Wyoming native, said it was vital to the nation’s national security that “good folks” hold the positions of secretary of state, CIA director and secretary of defense.
“Frankly, what he has appointed are second-rate people,” he said.
He forgot “president.”

Cheney said Hagel, a former Nebraska U.S. senator, was chosen because Obama “wants to have a Republican that he can use to take the heat for what he plans to do to the Department of Defense.”
And makes obozo a moral coward. You can’t put it more succinctly than that. The dude wants to form the Department of Peace and throw all the nukes in the garbage but he knows the only people that will approve of that will be the Chinese. So then we’ll have this pos obozo “I had no idea he gave all our nukes to egypt” or “I didn’t listen to the sermons.”

I guess Barry wants to use the money from DOD cuts to fund his “healthy Home for everyone” initiative. First they feed, provide welfare and unemployment compensation, then provide housing assistance, then insure, provide free phones and internet, and now a nice house, and we are left to wonder what wonderful thing the big government Obamanist will come up with next, now that the “basics” are covered.
I’m guessing fashion. I am sure they see the need to keep everyone up to date fashion wise, it not being fair that a child has to go to school with a pair of generic tennie runners on, while the affluent sport the latest Nike’s. If they want to make everyone alike and equal it would be cheaper to emulate the old PRC model. Give everyone a little blue coolie suit, hat, bicycle and assign us to a filing cabinet styled apartment, but hey we are America, we can do better than that. Our grandchildren can afford it.

Hagel said at the confirmation hearings that he didn’t see himself occupying a policy making position. Obama had already told him who makes the decisions for the Obama regime. Hagel just wants to be the gofer.
After 2008, Obama kept talking about a cabinet of equals, like Lincoln had. I guess he couldn’t find any equals, to his own imagined brilliance; so he is just giving up the pretense this time, sycophants only need apply.
