I may as well bow to the reality that y’all will spend the entire weekend talking about the election regardless of what topic I write about, so here it is: Your weekend-before-the-election open thread.
The rules still apply — it’s an open thread, not a no-holds-barred thread — but otherwise, have at it.

If any liberal can explain how Bush’s policies led to our economic crisis, I would be interested.

Same Bureau of Labor. Different Labor Secretary appointed by a different president, one from Texas, one from Chicago.
Job numbers not improving. Went up. Hasn’t created one net job during entire term. Doesn’t want to create a job. Sooooooooooooooo obvious. Not what progressives do. Have no intentions to improve economy.

Democrats refuse to admit the obvious, and they have never heard of Barney Frank or Christopher Dodd.

Collapsing the economy is the path to Marxism/socialism/communism.

Voting for Obama proves liberals don’t love their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, great grandmothers, great grandfathers, etc.
Wonder where the love went. Should be a song written.
The president of the US has 2 jobs: CEO of the US & Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. Do we elect a real, successful CEO or a community organizer?

Unfortunately, a large percentage of citizens have been taught that profit is evil, and that capitalism is for meanies because some folks do better than others in such a system. Guess who teaches such garbage? Democrats and community organizers…rabble rousers. We’ve bred too many intellectual weaklings, and too many folks with poor work ethic. They’re plenty happy just getting their government check. That is Obozo’s base…the weak, the stupid, the ignorant, the aggrieved.
Be better than that.

Obviously gas prices were so low in Jan 2008 because of the optimism the world had in the US finally running the moron in chief out of DC, and not electing McSame/Snowbilly. The world had hope for a few minutes, until the wingnuts started their treasonous campaign of obstruction, and continuing destruction of the world economy.

Nobody?
How about the avowed socialists, such as Van Jones, Valerie Jarrett, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dorhn?
Maybe the OWS movement swine?
Maybe even those who have permanently attached themselves to the government teat and think it will last forever, even after the producers in our society have stopped producing?
Maybe anyone who describes themselves as a “progressive”?

“Actively working to destroy the foundations of America’s economic system.”
Is it lack of incompetence or deliberate?
Obama is America’s fourth consequential progressive president. Poet Archibald MacLeish, FDR’s choice for librarian of Congress, said America has “the abundant means” to create whatever world we have the courage to desire, & the ability to “take this country down” & “build it again as we please,” to “take our cities apart & put them together,” to lead our “rivers where we please to lead them,” etc.
You may call progressives whatever you want to call them, but they are NOT pro-American.

Also, can you explain how Bush destroyed the economy when it was predicted by the NYT before he was even elected, in 9/99 that a govt. rescue would be requited to bail out the banks the GOVERNMENT required to make sub-prime loans?

Obama wrote Dreams From My Father. He also wrote a budget I call Dreams from My Speeches. He incorporated every idea he’s been spouting on the campaign trail for how many years now? 4? 5?
He incorporated raising taxes on those he deems “rich” & not paying “their fair share,” teachers & firemen in expensive areas of the country, & guess what? His budget takes the USA into oblivion. Despair. Bankruptcy. It decimates Social Security & Medicare & Defense.
His budget was as radical as he is.
The votes he received from the House & the Senate were exactly ZERO. Not one Democrat in either body voted with him.
That’s all anyone needs to know about this man.
His intention is to systematically destroy the United States of America. His budget proved it.

For the first time in my life, I’m proud of my country. Would an American chose to be married to someone who said that?
We put a man on the moon, defeated the Nazi’s, the Japanese, the Soviets, overthrew dictators, freed the enslaved, protected the Muslims in Kosovo, and have the greatest standard of living in the world and she has never been proud of her country?
Linda
November 4th, 2012

Obama took our men off the moon & deprived our space exploration, gave in to the Muslim Brotherhood (the political arm of the Islamic radicals), pushed the wrong reset button with the Russians & promised compromise after his “last election,” collaborated with dictators abroad to interrogate captured terrorists, freed terrorists, protected the Muslim terrorists & brought our standard of living to the lowest it’s been for decades.
Who’s proud now?

http://washingtonexaminer.com/november-surprise-epa-planning-major-post-election-anti-coal-regulation/article/2512538#.UJcMym872Ah
More than 50 EPA staff are now crashing to finish greenhouse gas emission standards that would essentially ban all construction of new coal-fired power plants. Never before have so many EPA resources been devoted to a single regulation. The independent and non-partisan Manhattan Institute estimates that the EPA’s greenhouse gas coal regulation will cost the U.S. economy $700 billion.
The rush is a major sign of panic by environmentalists inside the Obama administration. If Obama wins, the EPA would have another four full years to implement their anti-fossil fuel agenda. But if Romney wins, regulators will have a very narrow window to enact a select few costly regulations that would then be very hard for a President Romney to undo.
He doesn’t quit in his efforts to bring the country to its knees. 700 billion more damage to our economy.

Unless those regulations are in the form of law and subject to the whelm of the courts, executive orders should be able to handle that situation. After all, look at what Hussein has been able to do via executive order!
The communists found their home in the environmental movement. It was and is a perfect place to handle redistribution of wealth on a global scale. Cap and Trade is a perfect example of that attempt. Hussein has had to proceed without that single piece of legislation, but he has been effective.

How many times did Obama or someone from his administration go on TV in the days following the murders and say, “the best information we have is that it was a spontaneous demonstration” brought on by that idiotic video, MarkV?
Answer: DOZENS of times.
Except we now know that the CIA Chief of Station reported that it was a coordinated attack less than 24 hours following the murders.
We now know that the ambassador himself sent cables to the State Dept. (and directly to SOS Clinton) 3 weeks beforehand, stating his belief that his Libyan “protectors” were likely infiltrated and that the consulate was under surveillance.
We now know that the murdered ambassador identified at LEAST 10 terrorist cells operating in the Benghazi area weeks before he was killed.
Continue to stick you head (and other orifices) in the sand and deny the FACTS that only one news organization has had the wherewithal to ferret out, but you cannot change the REALITY of the FACTS, MarkV.
He may be the most incompetent boob to ever reside in the Oval Office, but regardless of that opinion I have of him, there is NO denying he and his administration has lied about Benghazi.
Unless your IQ has dropped below 30, or if you’re a liberal, which is about the same thing these days.

You, Tiberius, and the other moral cowards, cc, Lambeau and others, stop pour weaseling and squirming, and man up! You have accused the President of lying. If you stand by that, it should be obvious what to do:
1. Quote the President word by word (Provide a link or accurate information, so that it can be checked. If his is an answer to a question, make sure you include the question.)
2. Provide evidence, that the statement was a falsehood.
If you cannot do that, take the accusation back. Not that I expect that from people like you, who have only the “courage” to insult and accuse, not to admit, they were wrong.

OBAMA WINS – Stock Market predicts winner on Tuesday (absent Republican shenanigans)-
“”"”"”"”"There is a 94% chance you’re going to read that headline on Wednesday morning.
That’s because the direction of stocks has been a solidly reliable predictor of prior presidential elections.
For Mitt Romney, this is grim news indeed.
Though I’ve discussed the market’s ability to predict elections before, here’s a quick review:
When the stock market sported gains in the two months before the election, the incumbent was re-elected 15 of 16 times. Conversely, when the stock market declined during that time, the opposition won 10 of 12 races. The combined data, which InvesTech Research compiled, shows that the stock market predicted the next president a mind-blowing 25 of 28 times (89.2%).”"”"”"”"”"”"”
