I may as well bow to the reality that y’all will spend the entire weekend talking about the election regardless of what topic I write about, so here it is: Your weekend-before-the-election open thread.
The rules still apply — it’s an open thread, not a no-holds-barred thread — but otherwise, have at it.

“For most of my life, I’ve been an active Democrat. I am proud to have worked for President Bill Clinton and then-Senator Hillary Clinton, and, during that time, I saw firsthand what can be accomplished by strong, bipartisan leadership. I know what it means to work across the aisle on issues that are important to the American people. And that’s why I am supporting Mitt Romney. Governor Romney has a plan to restore the prosperity this country deserves and expects. He will work with people of good will no matter what their party, and he will pursue the policies that are in the best interest of our country, no matter who proposes them. That’s what President Obama promised to do four years ago. But like so many of his promises, bipartisan cooperation is just another one he has broken. We can’t have four more years of failed policies and two parties that can’t work together. We need the change Mitt Romney is offering.” Gigi Georges

The largest changes in the composition of the electorate compared with the last presidential election concern the partisan affiliation of voters. Currently, 46% of likely voters identify as Democrats or lean Democratic, compared with 54% in 2008. But in 2008, Democrats enjoyed a wide 12-point advantage in party affiliation among national adults, the largest Gallup had seen in at least two decades. More recently, Americans have been about as likely to identify as or lean Republican as to identify as or lean Democratic.

This is Saturday before THE Tuesday, and I’m feeling very confident in a win for Romney and America! It’s time to get our country back on track after this very HUGE mistake. Although it may take decades to repair the damage done to America, at least we will be on the road to recovery. I earnestly hope that all my fellow conservatives share the optimism I feel today!

Dusty,
Either you do not understand the word obnoxious, or you have a very different concept of ethics than I have. Whenever Tiberius is shown to be wrong, or does not have answers to an argument, he resorts to insults and bullying. This goes well beyond any disagreements about politics. Those are methods of someone intellectually inferior and a moral coward. The notion that you would defend such a character is incomprehensible to me.
As for LBB, the above applies even more strongly. Here are some of his “clever ‘ comments (according to Dusty)
“How many times does Obozo have to lie to you chumps”
“Nothing is the Idiot Messiah’s fault.”
“Bend over, Dr. Pangloss, Obozo has more government intrusion coming your way.”
“Stupid receptacles.”
“Obviously, Obozo is no American.”
“Obozo and his receptacles: Idiots.”
Dusty, you certainly deserve Barry’s thanks.

Don’t despair Cons; the Romney folks control many of the voting machines across the country-particularly Ohio. Strange investment for a candidate’s family and top supporters isn’t it? We’ll have another of those unxeplainable variances from exit polls of a couple hundred thousand votes in Ohio just like in 2004 with the GOP in control there and same in Florida. Then we will see Karl Rove boasting that he predicted Romney would take those states. If that doesn’t work Scalia is ready to select Romney by finding any vote challenge violates Romney’s civil rights provided Scalia’s son is on Romney’s legal team and is guaranteed a job in the administration- just like ocurred in 2000 with George W..

“”"”"”"”"”While the last Democratic president, Bill Clinton, is on the campaign trail speaking at rallies on behalf of Barack Obama, the last Republican president, George W. Bush, has been missing in action totally this election. He surfaced Friday , however, in the Cayman Islands where he is delivering the keynote address at a private “investment” conference.
The press is locked out. A spokesman for the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit says the speech is totally closed to all journalists. Spokesman Dan Kneipp says he is not even permitted to discuss the subject of Bush’s speech scheduled for Thursday evening at the Ritz-Carlton. Attendees are paying $4,000 each to get advice at this “investment” seminar. Sponsors include KPMG, a company that provides tax advisory services, and Deutsche Bank.
What is the conference about? It is about the benefits of using the Cayman Islands to shelter income in order to avoid paying U.S. taxes. How did George Bush become an expert on the subject? Perhaps Mitt Romney gave him some tips.”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”

I’m sure that is very reliable information and a credible source can be cited?
Let’s forget all the DOCUMENTED evidence from the ‘08 election with all the bogus voter registrations handled by ACORN. Don’t even try to assert that ACORN doesn’t exist anymore because it has resurfaced under different names and is still functioning as it always has. I can’t help but wonder how many of the thug Black Panthers will be gracing poll sites this year?
In Ohio, one voter voted for Romney three different times before the machine would register her vote correctly. For some strange reason, every time she selected Romney, the vote appeared for Hussein.
This election may have attempts to steal it, but it will be the dimocraps and Obama’s handiwork and not Romney’s and the Republicans.

Here’s why the romneys will not disclose their 2009 tax return:
“”"”"”"”"”"”A trust in Ann Romney’s name listed “more than $1 million” invested with Elliott Management, run by hedge fund guru and GOP mega-donor Paul Singer. (That’s the minimum amount of disclosure required by law, so it could have been much more than $1 million.) Singer subsequently snapped up large amounts of stock in Delphi at pennies on the dollar, and then, along with other hedge funds, demanded that the government assume pension responsibilities and bail the company out—or they would shut it down, thus crushing General Motors as well.
The government acceded, Delphi became lucrative again and then went public, and Elliott Management and its investors—including Romney—reaped enormous rewards.
Under any rational interpretation of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, these are holdings that a presidential candidate would need to disclose, because they can be affected by government action. The Romney campaign doesn’t argue that they are not, but rather that, since Ann Romney’s trust is “blind,” there is no disclosure requirement.
Ann Romney’s trust is blind in name only. Romney himself has said that “the blind trust is an age-old ruse, if you will. Which is to say you can always tell a blind trust what it can and cannot do.” Moreover, this is not a federally recognized blind trust of the sort Romney would be forced to create if he won the White House. If it was, he would have never been able to reap his windfall from Delphi”"”"”"”"”"”"

“Actually, Bush and Cheney, with their lies and two credit card wars, are the ones that have damaged America. And, it will take Obama at least another term to make some reasonable dent in this damage.”
You may well be right, in whole or part, about Bush and Cheney. As a conservative I certainly had my problems with them; it was BUSH (not Obama) who effectively spawned the Tea Party. But the Democrats and their media mouthpieces are taking us over the cliff economically, socially, politically, and in foreign relations. This election is about ideological direction, core values, and liberty.
The AP article in the Saturday AJC on Benghazi and the CIA timeline was as blantly biased a “news story” as anything I’ve read in years. Utterly disgusting piece of propaganda.
roswell mom

I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but, since the Benghazi dead horse continues to be pounded, let’s note that nother was done wrong there other than trying to get the information out as soon as possible. The GOP wouldn’t pass a budget bill until the security for our embassies was cut, so we didn’t have enough people on the ground. It was the anniversary of 9/11 and some nut had released an anti Islamic video. The CIA still doesn’t know whether the attackers decided to attack then in order to take advantage of the chaos. Oh, and there was chaos at American embassies all over the ME, so, where do you send your GOP limited resources? It is most unfortunate that four people were killed, but, at least they were working for the government and knew that was a risk. The Bush Administration had intel presented to them months before 9/11/2001 that Al Queda was going to fly planes into our buildings. Bush was even friends with some of the Bin Laden clan from his oil days, so he could have asked them what brother Osama was up to. The people at risk weren’t government employees who signed on knowing they were taking risks, they were civilians working office jobs. Over 3000 Americans were killed (and thousands more in the ensuing wars) because Bush couldn’t figure out how to address this intel. I don’t blame Bush – you can’t protect thousands of airports and millions of buildings with limited resources, but, nevertheless, he was the head man on duty. Anybody who tries to say what Obama did or didn’t do is somehow worse than what Bush did or didn’t do is either a) just dumb or b) just playing politics, pure and simple. That’s why it’s not a story – because, just like Reagan got over 200 Marines killed in Lebanon and Bush got over 3000 killed on 9/11/2001 and more soldiers died in Viet Nam under Nixon than under Johnson and Kennedy combined, people understand that when America exerts its power overseas, it’s risky and there are people who don’t want us in their countries. Those people will try to kill us and sometimes they succeed. People who want to believe ancient aliens built the pyramids, the world will end in 2012 and there was a shooter on the grassy knoll in Dallas will never believe the truth about things, but normal people ought to process facts.

Roswell mom, that malarkey about so-called GOP budget cuts for embassy security was dismissed by the State dept in testimony before Congress. Just days following the murders.
The crap about the video spawning this attack was debunked by the CIA’s Chief of Station within 24 hours of the attack.
You may not like it, but Fox news has proven without a shadow of a doubt with the administrations own emails and state department cables that the administration lied to the American people from the first weekend following the murders and continues to cover up their mistakes even now. This is no longer speculation.
They lied and they’re covering up their mistakes and lies that got their ambassador and three other brave heroes killed.
