Attention, ladies: Obama wants to be your ‘first’ (with video)

An intellectually honest feminist would be horrified by this sexualization of women’s suffrage, the reduction of young women to Harlequin Romance voters finding the right man** to give themselves to. Are there any such feminists left?

It’s funny: Democrats tell women to “vote like your lady parts depend on it” — or at least they used to. You had the Code Pink protesters who, at the GOP convention in Tampa, actually got dressed up like vaginas. Now this. I try not to play the “what if Republicans did it” card too often, but seriously: Can you imagine the outrage on the left if the Romney campaign put out an ad like this?

At what point do women decide to turn away from such patronizing, superficial pandering?

Oh, right. Many of them already have.

**Note that this ad pretty much implies women should only vote for male candidates. Or that only a lesbian would vote for a female candidate. Or something. Honestly, this is such an amazing example of sophomoric pandering I’d like to believe they simply didn’t think through it that far. But hey, Democrats can get away with it because, WAR ON WOMEN! Also, Obama evolved on gay marriage. Or something.

Yes there would be outrage…mainly because if Romney put out an ad like this he would be lying once again. He is opposed to everything she said.

BTW…this ad is a great example of why Repugs are losing women, minorities and younger voters…they just don’t get it.

The Romney version of the ad would have to continue on adding that the love child (President) created by the impregnation of the first time vote must be carried through to birth because it was Gods will, that any woman who didn’t want to vote Republican has a natural system to prevent it, and that once the President came into this world, they would be left to their own binders to support it.

This low class appeal to women has to anger and infuriate any mature rational thinking woman. “10 Filthy-Rich, Tax-Dodging Hypocrites Pushing Disastrous Austerity on America”

Is Obama on that list?

Well, Rick, let me answer you short term and long term. In the short term, the good news is that there’s going to be a forcing mechanism to deal with what is the central ideological argument in Washington right now, and that is: How much government do we have and how do we pay for it?

“So when you combine the Bush tax cuts expiring, the sequester in place, the commitment of both myself and my opponent — at least Governor Romney claims that he wants to reduce the deficit — but we’re going to be in a position where I believe in the first six months we are going to solve that big piece of business. ”

The prochoice women voters are the Tea Party Bizzarro world counterparts. The issue of abortion is hardly settled. Does a woman have manifest destiny over her own body? What about the body that’s already there? Tough questions, so why don’t we ask the woman voters in both Tea Parties? I mean, whoever heard of a woman voter who held a grudge against the absence of an ammendment? And remember: most woman voters don’t know nuthin bout birthin no baby, no how, and they don’t know why they lied about it earlier sayin they did and all.

Now, more than ever the votes of fair minded people are essential, and that vote should be for Obama. So go vote. Vote for justice, accountability, a man who says what he means and does what he says. Vote for what is decent and right for America, all of America. Vote for the man who will stand up for women’s rights, for equal rights, for equal pay, and the chance for a good life for all Americans, not just the wealthy. Vote for the future, for technology and education and a decent world for our children. If you think deeply and unselfishly you will see Obama is not only the better choice, but that he is truly special. You likely won’t see the likes of a statesman of Obama’s caliber again in your lifetime. In their own time most of the great presidents from both parties have been tested by events, and many faced a challenging path to election– Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, Kennedy. Obama will be compared by history to such men. Look at his steady hand in foreign policy. Getting the job done with Bin Laden. Ending wars successfully rather than starting them recklessly. Effective and respected when working with world leaders. Look at his courage in taking the difficult path with healthcare—so badly in need of change. Look at his foresight in moving America towards clean energy, and away from dependency on foreign oil, and environmental damage from fossil fuels. Take the long view, the unselfish view, the righteous and patriotic view. Vote for Obama.

What are you going to tell your wife or daughter if they are the victim of a rape? “It’s okay, sweetie, this is what God planned for you.”

Speaking of this, I can’t help but be amused by Mourdock’s feigned indignation over people correctly interpreting his response as saying the rape itself was God’s will. If the pregnancy was God’s will, then how could the rape NOT have been God’s will? God is omnipotent, yes? Nothing occurs without his prescience and blessing, yes? We may not understand it, but it is nonetheless God’s will.

That’s your faith, man–STAND BY IT. I would have more respect for the GOP if, when confronted with the patent ugliness of some of their social positions, they actually stood behind them instead of trying to weasel their way out most of the time.

Kyle, your outrage is overblown! It’s a good ad addressing women’s issues presented by a typical young, slightly silly American woman.

Women can’t vote for a woman candidate: they must choose between two men. One of the men treats women as if they are morally and legally equal to men. The other treats women in the Biblical way, as chattel who must be closely managed.

I’ve always liked Lanny Davis, but with this, I think he’s fooling himself.

So there should be no surprise that Democrats supporting Barack Obama see his second term as an opportunity to emphasize even more his Clintonian-centrist roots. He no longer has to throw red meat to the extremists in the Democratic Party base who use the language of hate and venom on the Internet and on cable TV panels.

I think it was Rahm who called BO’s base effing retards. Lanny is so much nicer than Rahm, although I like both of them. That reminds me, I haven’t checked in on Mayor Emanuel in a while. Gotta see what he’s up to in Chicago.

He no longer has to turn over the keys to domestic initiatives to those who would spend with credit cards, piling up our national debt into more and more trillions of dollars in the whole without regard for the morality of leaving these bills to be paid by our children and our grand-children.

He can finally –as he recently indicated – take leadership to do the Grand Bargain to reduce the debt by specifically embracing the Simpson-Bowles across-the-board approach of spending cuts, corporate tax cuts, elimination of most business tax loopholes, and major Social Security and Medicare reforms.

With all the rhetoric Obama has spewed over the last 3+ years, Lanny would have a hard time convincing me (a Clinton voter).

Deeds carry more weight than words. His words betray any semblance to center.

How long are women going to take this abuse from these misogynous Republicans? Republicans blame the victim of most any crime. It is your fault that Madoff cheated you out of your money because you did not do your due diligence. If you are wearing a hoodie, then you are dangerous and asking to be killed. If you are wearing a short skirt you are enticing the rapist and it is not a legitimate rape. If a rapist sees you buying birth control pills, he knows you are a promiscuous slut as Republicans say and deserves to be raped. And lets say that you have a cold and your body is not working correctly so it does not shut down during a rape and therefore it is a legitimate rape that results in pregnancy. They want the government to force the woman to bear the rapist’s child. Now they are calling the rapist that impregnates you not an instrument of the devil, but instead a messenger of God. Why do Republicans want to protect rapists so the rapist can spread their seed from women to women and force them to raise their children? This creates more single mothers that may never marry and the mother has to bear the significant cost of raising a child. This is not equal opportunity, but two strikes against her. If the government is going to force her to have the child, then we need another welfare program that pays 100% of the child support to the mother.

10 Big Surprises in Store For Tea Partiers Fleeing to Canada if Obama Wins

If there’s one thing we cherish down here, it’s liberty! And part of that liberty is the right, enshrined in our Constitution, to work ourselves like dogs and stay mired in poverty.

So, these good Real Americans are going to be shocked to find that (after December), the lowest minimum wage in Canada is $9.90. Jeez, our highest minimum is 9 bucks in Washington state, but for most of us it’s $7.25. Even worse, there are crazy people up North trying to pass a living wage of $13. Gah – the socialism!

Four years into Barack Obama’s presidency, economic growth is sputtering. Family incomes are down. Poverty is up. Business owners are reluctant to assume risk in the face of unending uncertainty. Many are holding on by their fingernails, desperate for signs of an economic recovery that will help them provide for themselves, their employees, their customers and their communities.

When President Obama came into office in 2009, the economy was in freefall and though untested, he inspired us with his promise of hope and change. Now, four years later, we have little reason to believe he can turn things around.

So while we endorsed Obama in 2008, we recommend voters choose Republican Mitt Romney on Nov. 6.

What is the implication??, that the woman really wants to get it on with a man and has a crush on Obama? Horrors if that is the case, she must be a loose woman or a sl-t.
By the way, last time I checked there were no women running for the presidency.

What a cop out on your part. His daughters aren’t of voting age?
The video was (maybe still is) on the net where anyone could look at it. It’s rubbish and repugnant.
Would you show it to your daughters?
I wouldn’t show it to mine, and I bet that 99% of voters agree with me.
Face it – the President really embarassed himself with this one.

Funny how the Repubs. have a hearing on contraceptives and insurance and did not want a single woman to testify. When Sandra Fluk testified about the need to have birth control covered she gets called a slut for daring as a woman to even talk about birth control. Obama makes an ad about women and has a woman talk about the reasons she is voting for Obama and she gets criticized for talking about the thrill of voting and she gets dumped on by a bunch of right wing guys for stating her feelings. I cannot help seeing a pattern here.

Oh well, desperation seems to have set in with Obama. Nothing too low or too light to snap the public to attention. After almost four years of bad governance, anything goes

After all, Obama IS our “first”. He is the first president to ever raise the debt to an unprecedented sum of sixteen trillion. AND…he wants four more years to increase that amazing figure. When do we get the SIXTEEN TRILLION TRIUMPH video?

From Wikipedia:
“”"”Fluke is a native of Saxton, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Pennsylvania’s Tussey Mountain Junior/Senior High School in 1999. She graduated from Cornell University’s Program in Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies in 2003. She co-founded the New York Statewide Coalition for Fair Access to Family Court, which successfully advocated for legislation granting access to civil orders of protection for unmarried victims of domestic violence, including LGBTQ victims and teens. She was also a member of the Manhattan Borough President’s Taskforce on Domestic Violence and numerous other New York City and New York State coalitions that successfully advocated for policy improvements impacting victims of domestic violence. She worked in New York City for Sanctuary for Families, which aids victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
At Georgetown University Law Center, she was the 2011 recipient of the Women Lawyers of Los Angeles’ Fran Kandel Public Interest Grant,[15] which supported her production of a video on how to take out a restraining order. She also “represented numerous victims of domestic violence and human trafficking” and worked to help “child victims of domestic human trafficking in Kenya”.She served as president of Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice, and graduated cum laude in 2012.”"”"”"”"”"”"”"
Of course to guys like Tiberius she doesn’t have a working brain and just likes to have sex all day. That is what “cum laude” means in her bio right?

What a profound revelation. Obama is “first.” No matter that all the recent presidents were also “first” in this respect:

GWB to 10 trillion
Clinton to 6 trillion
HWB to 4 trillion
Reagan to 2 ½ trillion
Carter to 1 trillion

The entire Obama campaign appears to me to be targeting our less intelligent and gullible voters. It is obvious from comments posted here and on other blogs that his target audience has, in fact, been reached. I don’t believe this will accomplish what he needs, though, and President Romney looks to be on track for the win.

What is necessary to produce a communist muslim going away party? (The White House domestic staff is trying to get up to speed before Obama’s January departure!)

She’s a 31 YEAR OLD college student who can afford $40k/yr tuition but needs you to pay for her $12/mo birth control.

Evidently she isn’t smart enough to walk down to health services to pick up a free condom or have the guy provide his own. Cum laude must mean “not as smart as your average teenager”.

PS: I believe fluke, like the girl in the video, doesn’t even need birth control since she’s a lesbian.

It must be really tough when you realize that your party is an anachronism and that you’re forever stuck in mid-twentieth century ideologies. That you have alienated every single voting bloc except old white people. That your chances of ever winning the presidency are so remote as to be laughable. OWN IT! You made it! Enjoy it! Have you seen or read this lengthy column?

“The letter claims that Obama had a political motivation in rejecting Stevens’ security requests, since the president was eager to show improving conditions in Libya after the U.S.-led international operation that toppled Libya dictator Moamar Gadhafi.
The scandal now has erupted far beyond why our Libyan embassy was left so vulnerable to a jihadi attack on 9/11/12.
Our President chose to let these four men fight for seven hours and die alone in that Benghazi compound. How and why did Obama decide not to help them?”

cc: thanks for the article, lots of info, lots of speculation, but they are not very forthcoming with the timelines, etc, so people speculate.

I can’t buy the Panetta story of they never commit troops to a situation until they are aware of what is happening on the ground. If that were true, we would have lost a great deal of pilots, shot down in Vietnam and Gulf War I. We do send in rescue teams to pull out fighter pilots shot down and we sent in teams to try and free those in Somalia in Blackhawk Down. They were watching the action in real time, so it is hard to say they did not know, the conditions on the ground. I agree with the Article, an F-18 fly over straffing the crowd would have been better than the nothing they provided.

As I said the other day, we need a John Dean to step forward and go on the record with what really happened in the WH situation room. The Libs would shout him down and call him a liar, his life would be ruined, but that is the only way we can get information anytime soon. It will all eventually come out, but it will take a long time, otherwise.
