Attention, ladies: Obama wants to be your ‘first’ (with video)
An intellectually honest feminist would be horrified by this sexualization of women’s suffrage, the reduction of young women to Harlequin Romance voters finding the right man** to give themselves to. Are there any such feminists left?
It’s funny: Democrats tell women to “vote like your lady parts depend on it” — or at least they used to. You had the Code Pink protesters who, at the GOP convention in Tampa, actually got dressed up like vaginas. Now this. I try not to play the “what if Republicans did it” card too often, but seriously: Can you imagine the outrage on the left if the Romney campaign put out an ad like this?
At what point do women decide to turn away from such patronizing, superficial pandering?
Oh, right. Many of them already have.
**Note that this ad pretty much implies women should only vote for male candidates. Or that only a lesbian would vote for a female candidate. Or something. Honestly, this is such an amazing example of sophomoric pandering I’d like to believe they simply didn’t think through it that far. But hey, Democrats can get away with it because, WAR ON WOMEN! Also, Obama evolved on gay marriage. Or something.

I know it’s hard to believe, but obama is against slave reparations. Not that he is against the redistribution of wealth and anti-racism. He says if you attach a dollar amount to it, blacks would lose their ability to whine about how they are mistreated and the ability to receive additional reparations in the future.
We wouldn’t want to put Rev Al and Jesse out of business would we?

I’ve always liked Lanny Davis, but with this, I think he’s fooling himself.
So there should be no surprise that Democrats supporting Barack Obama see his second term as an opportunity to emphasize even more his Clintonian-centrist roots. He no longer has to throw red meat to the extremists in the Democratic Party base who use the language of hate and venom on the Internet and on cable TV panels.
I think it was Rahm who called BO’s base effing retards. Lanny is so much nicer than Rahm, although I like both of them. That reminds me, I haven’t checked in on Mayor Emanuel in a while. Gotta see what he’s up to in Chicago.
He no longer has to turn over the keys to domestic initiatives to those who would spend with credit cards, piling up our national debt into more and more trillions of dollars in the whole without regard for the morality of leaving these bills to be paid by our children and our grand-children.
He can finally –as he recently indicated – take leadership to do the Grand Bargain to reduce the debt by specifically embracing the Simpson-Bowles across-the-board approach of spending cuts, corporate tax cuts, elimination of most business tax loopholes, and major Social Security and Medicare reforms.
With all the rhetoric Obama has spewed over the last 3+ years, Lanny would have a hard time convincing me (a Clinton voter).
Deeds carry more weight than words. His words betray any semblance to center.

How long are women going to take this abuse from these misogynous Republicans? Republicans blame the victim of most any crime. It is your fault that Madoff cheated you out of your money because you did not do your due diligence. If you are wearing a hoodie, then you are dangerous and asking to be killed. If you are wearing a short skirt you are enticing the rapist and it is not a legitimate rape. If a rapist sees you buying birth control pills, he knows you are a promiscuous slut as Republicans say and deserves to be raped. And lets say that you have a cold and your body is not working correctly so it does not shut down during a rape and therefore it is a legitimate rape that results in pregnancy. They want the government to force the woman to bear the rapist’s child. Now they are calling the rapist that impregnates you not an instrument of the devil, but instead a messenger of God. Why do Republicans want to protect rapists so the rapist can spread their seed from women to women and force them to raise their children? This creates more single mothers that may never marry and the mother has to bear the significant cost of raising a child. This is not equal opportunity, but two strikes against her. If the government is going to force her to have the child, then we need another welfare program that pays 100% of the child support to the mother.

As Orrin Hatch said, “It doesn’t seem to matter to Senate Democrats that federal law already prevents gender-based pay discrimination.”

I love what June O’Neill, a professor of economics at Baruch College had to say about the act. It’s “insulting to women,” since it establishes a grant to give women salary-negotiation training. O’Neill argued that this element of the “absurd” bill implicitly contradicts its own premise: that gender can have no bearing on people’s ability to do their jobs.
Women need training on how to stand up for themselves. Not me…I was born with the ability. My one and only attempt to negotiate a raise took all of five minutes. The hefty raise came with an apology too.
