Bro,

Without government spending, we will go back to a recession like the EU.

I think we will add 12 million jobs if the gop do not screw it up like economists predicted.

Slow steady job growth is the best you can get after a financial collapse.

The key to help middle class spending is 12 million good paying jobs.

Economy is going to limp along for sometime.

Considering there was a net 0% increase in new jobs in the 2000’s, limping along is an understatement.

It has come down to voting for the lesser of 2 evils. Obama did not live up to all his 2008 promises but did a good job on national security and foreign affairs. Also Obama kept us from entering a deep economic depression but created a massive amount of debt. Romney initially appeared as a solid alternative but his changing positions on almost every issue – gun control; Roe vs Wade; mandated health care; spending; etc – rules him out for me since I have no idea now of where he really stands and what kind of policies he will pursue.

And once again get, the private sector has to generate the capital to pay for those gov’t jobs……and right now it looks as if they are going backwards……..hardly the time to ask them to shell out even more……….so your answer is to add how much to the credit card balance of 16 trillion??

Bro

I have mentioned before that we have been limping for sometime now. While history is what it is, take away the military build up and technology push in the 80s, internet bubble of the 90s and housing / construction bubble of 2000s and we might have been in trouble for sometime.

Granted many people made some good money during those “bubbles”, but many individuals and businesses also saw and are seeing the downside now.

Our President recovered 5 million of the 9 million w lost.

Add 12 million in the next four years and we are still behind.

The w disaster has consequences.

We screwed up.

Don’t do it again.

Maybe you should read up on what HE says vs relying on the talking points from the media.

R v W……says his personal opinion is that abortion is wrong, but also says he will offer no legislation to change the law…….simple enough.

Mandated healthcare……….another simple concept, as he believes it should be up to each State, NOT shoved down our throats by the Feds………..

Without government spending, we will go back to a recession like the EU.

Well, that idea has been analyzed, and I don’t think many people would agree with the results.

http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2012/07/31/government-cutbacks-separate-this-expansion-from-others/

The recoveries and expansions that occurred in the Bush, Clinton and Reagan eras all saw government spending increase along with most other major drivers of growth. But in the current Obama recovery, which began in 2009, total public outlays have decreased at an annualized rate of 1.5%, according to a Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal analysis of newly revised government data.

In the previous five expansions, dating back to 1975, government spending grew a yearly average of 1.9%.

The current pull back in government spending, which is most pronounced at the state and local level, helps explain why on annualized basis, the gross domestic product has grown by just 2.2% since the recovery began. By that measure, the current rebound is the weakest of the post World War II era.

Actually Romney does have some “flip flops” on positions via his own words. He also has some positions were the Democrats say he changed but he didn’t.

Might be best for you to look them up an dnot rely on talking points yourself.

Granted I doubt there have been many running for Presidnet who didn’t “flip” on this or that issue, but Romney has been no differnt

Take a few minutes and look it up. Google can lead the way for you.

And he’s also said he’d be delighted to sign a law that will surely be offered to him if there’s a majority in both Houses.

so… vote for Romney, because he probably won’t get a chance to do what he’d personally like to do? Ain’t working for me.

Don’t be selective in your research. The information is out there and will not take long to locate.

You are welcome to defend it all you like. Say he meant this or that, however it will not change the facts that he has “flip flopped” on several issues.

Obama has done the same and it can also be located for easily.

Don’t let your rose colored glasses deter you from seeing the truth.

Not saying this in any effort to change your vote. Do not care who you vote for, but I am saying it because it is fact, regardless if you wish to admit and acknowledge it. It will not change either way.

Oops! Sorry for the delay. It’s Tuesday after one of my difficult Mondays. The parents of my little charges aren’t as engaged as those I’ve had in the past. I am determined to get them engaged.

You have only to look at “Solutions” offered by Gingrich to see his innovative thought processes.

Socially moderate? Immigration…climate change to name a few.

It was, afterall, Gingrich who said this during his effort to establish a notable GOP majority in Congress:

“The Republican Party has to be the conservative party if it is to mobilize the 61 percent of the country which calls itself more conservative than liberal. However, this conservatism has to be moderate if the party is not to be isolated from the bulk of the population which rejects either extreme.”

Now you COULD say his enthusiasm (ego?) got the best of him in the end. That’s not to say his moderate approach to solve problems did.

My position is this… let them (the GOP) do what they want to do. If they’re right, the country will improve and hopefully so will the lives of everyone here. If they’re wrong, the country will crash and those ideas will go the way of the dodo bird. Sometimes, you have to actually let people fail in order for them to realize the mistakes in their thinking. I’ve had people teach me lessons that way, and I’ve done the same thing to others. However, if they’re right, then those who think the GOP is wrong will have to rethink their own thought process.

Also thought he recommended to Obama to use the Massachuetts law for healthcare.

He knows the best way to build the economy is to bomb Iran at the first suggestion of his Bush defense experts. WW3 will either get us to full employment or a few nukes from Russia will reduce the labor pool.

If government spending kept recessions at bay, European economies would never shrink.

I don’t think it’s simply blanket spending, but I think it has more to do what or where the spending is done. Republicans have typically funded the increased spending into defense spending, which does create some jobs and it puts money back into the economy. The faster money circulates and the more of it there is to circulate will determine how fast the recovery comes.

Our economy isn’t influenced as much by manufacturing as it is by consumption. The more we spend, the better the economy does. I haven’t found anything to date that shows a difference in whether the money comes from the private or public sector. If the private sector isn’t spending/consuming, then somebody has to pick up the slack or we’ll never pick up out of a recession.

Yes, they did, and it is doing a fine job of scaring off businesses:

http://www.france24.com/en/20121007-rich-businessmen-pulling-out-france-tax-hit-looms

How about we do it here too? What say you Will Smith:

“Smith explained why he supported the idea of paying higher taxes, saying, “I have no issue with paying taxes and whatever needs to be done for my country to grow. I believe very firmly that my ability to sit here — I’m a black man who didn’t go to college, yet I get to travel around the world and sell my movies, and I believe very firmly that America is the only place on Earth that I could exist. So I will pay anything that I need to pay to keep my country growing.”

The interviewer then said, “Do you know how much in France you would have to pay on earnings above 1 million euros [French President Francois Hollande's proposal]? Not 30 percent – 75 percent.”

At that point, Smith said, “75? Yeah, that’s different, that’s different. Yeah, 75. Well, you know, God bless America.””

When it comes to climate change, Newt’s only deviance from his original position was that it’s unproven that man in the sole contributor. In light of “Climategate” that’s true.

Cue the sofa ad where Pelosi said: “We need cleaner forms of energy…” In response, Newt had this to say: “If enough of us demand action from our leaders, we can spark the INNOVATION we need.” Nothing about Cap & Trade.

Alternative energy remains on his list of things to pursue.
