Barack Obama leapt to Big Bird’s defense. Big Bird said, no thanks.
If the first debate between Obama and Mitt Romney winds up being a turning point in the election, the episode involving American children’s tallest, yellowest feathered-est friend may prove to be a symbol of what went wrong for the incumbent.
During the Oct. 3 debate, moderator Jim Lehrer of PBS NewsHour asked the candidates for specifics about how they’d tackle the federal debt and deficit. Romney reiterated the test he said he’d use to decide which spending to cut: “Is the program so critical it’s worth borrowing money from China to pay for it?” For examples, he named Obamacare and then said:
I’m sorry, Jim. I’m going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I’m going to stop other things. I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I actually like you too. But I’m not going to — I’m not going to keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for it.
Obama did not address this remark during the debate, but within days his campaign released a short video ad mocking Romney’s position on PBS by comparing Big Bird to Bernie Madoff and saying, “Mitt Romney knows it’s not Wall Street you have to worry about, it’s Sesame Street.”
Never mind that Romney, during the same debate, said the banking industry needs regulation and accurately described the Dodd-Frank financial “reform” bill as the cementing of Too Big To Fail in federal law and thus an enormous sop to the biggest banks. Never mind that Obama’s response to the same question about debt and deficits included a mention of “18 government programs for education” that he’d cut (cutting education funds? but it’s for teh kidz!). Or that Sesame Street is such a merchandising powerhouse that it easily could survive on its own (take it from a dad whose kids have Elmo on their pajamas and Cookie Monster on their diapers, in addition to probably a dozen or more toys, stuffed animals and books with the furry characters on them).
Never mind all that. The Obama campaign decided to make an issue, albeit a fairly minor one, out of saving Big Bird.
Which probably wouldn’t have been a big deal if the Sesame Street Workshop hadn’t issued this response:
Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.
As the kids on Twitter would say: Obama campaign #FAIL.
Now, normally anything that keeps the Obama campaign from having to talk about the economy can be seen as a good thing for the incumbent. But getting rejected by Big Bird?
Mockery of mockery aside, this strikes me as a pretty apt summary of why the 70 million people who watched last week’s debate overwhelmingly thought Romney came out as the winner. Here was Romney, on a night when Obama attacked him for not being specific about his plans, making a specific statement about a spending cut he’d make — and one not likely to be popular with his intended audience that night, which very clearly was the small but critical group of undecided moderates in the electorate.
The Obama campaign’s response? Ham-fisted pandering that drew a rebuke from the very cause meant to be championed.
The talk throughout this general-election campaign about likeability has been overplayed because it misses the point. If the electorate wanted the most likeable guy available in the White House, Obama would have been running circles around Romney instead of never, for even a single day, leading the Real Clear Politics average of polls by even 6 percentage points (never by even 5 points since Romney effectively clinched the GOP nomination).
The voters aren’t looking for the guy they’d most like to attend a beer summit with. They’re looking for the guy who can run the country more effectively. Muppet panders, from a candidate who has presided over four consecutive $1,000,000,000,000-plus deficits and the surpassing of the $16,000,000,000,000 mark in federal debt, are not likely to resonate with them.
The race is not over by a long shot, but Obama suddenly has to do more than tread water if he’s going to win.

The obama campaign is impossible to take seriously. No serious discussion of the facts, no detailed or even high level solutions to our economic problems.

As POLITICO reported Saturday, NBC News sent a letter to Obama campaign manager Jim Messina last week asking the campaign to stop using network footage in a new 30-second spot, released shortly after Wednesday’s debate, in which Andrea Mitchell is shown on air citing an independent analysis that Mitt Romney’s tax plan would cost $4.8 trillion over 10 years.
Mitchell addressed that complaint on her MSNBC program today, but added that the Obama campaign omitted portions of the clip in which she “pointed out exaggerations and/or misstatements” made by President Barack Obama.
“Some viewers might be understandably confused by the fact that the Obama campaign is airing a commercial right now including a video clip of me fact-checking Gov. Romney after last week’s debate,” Mitchell said. “You should know that NBC News has not granted either campaign permission to use our news material and immediately requested that the campaign refrain from using NBC News material in this and future advertisements.”

I am still amazed at this colossal miscalculation. I almost suspect this might hurt Obama more than even his tepid debate performance. At a time when he REALLY needs to appear presidential, he is talking about Big Bird rather than how to deal with the EXTREMELY serious issue of us being 16T in debt when the ME may be collapsing and Europe is in very dangerous economic straits.

This is one of the worst angles I have ever seen a writer take? Obviously, Sesamee Street does not want to piss off either side because children of both democrats and republicans watch their show. Moreover, brands like Sesame Street do not want their names to be associated with politics in general. It’s standard practice. You know as well as I Kyle, that companies and brands intentionally stay nuetral when it comes to politics. Your attempt to say Big bird has rejected Obama, just shows how much you are reaching to find a way to bash Obama.

The ocean is composed of drops. Enough drops and you have a sizable proposal. The Libs always use this excuse to do nothing. Why stop foreign aid to countries that are working to oppose us, it is just a small insignificant portion of the budget. Why not do away with the inefficient Dept of Energy, why bother it is just a very small agency with a minimum budget.
If it is not an essential function of government it should be on the chopping block when you have a 16.2 T debt. If PBS needs to run one more telethon per year to survive, let them do it, put my $1.35 toward paying off the debt.

Republicans can only concern themselves with the drops cause they don’t have the stones to address the tidal waves.
The entire Republican platform is about gutting social security but, ya know, most Americans really like that program.

Ok, we stop subsidizing PBS since they’re a merchandising powerhouse. How about ending the oil subsidies as well?
As it’s been mentioned several times before, Government shouldn’t be in the business of picking winners and losers. As people criticize the Solyndra investment, let’s level the playing field. No subsidies to oil and let the market decide. That should help reduce the deficit much faster than cutting off Public Television.

Welcome back Kyle…I see from this one you are a bit jet lagged.
The real point is that Romney is trying to solve large problems with small thinking, reserving his “big guns for big tax cuts”. As I said earlier he did a great job making a bad story sound palatable…of course he had to lie to do it.
For example…”Never mind that Romney, during the same debate, said the banking industry needs regulation and accurately described the Dodd-Frank financial “reform” bill as the cementing of Too Big To Fail in federal law and thus an enormous sop to the biggest banks. ”
First off that is a huge flip or is it a flop from his heretofore position, but since he mentions Dodd Frank… not so much as CNN points out
“The argument that some people make is that designating the biggest banks as “systemically important financial institutions,” as Dodd-Frank requires, makes it much cheaper for them to borrow, since no one thinks the government will allow them to fail. The result is higher profits and a big advantage that will allow the mega banks to run everyone else out of town. But it doesn’t appear to be turning out that way.”
http://finance.fortune.cnn.com/2012/10/04/obama-romney-debate-dodd-frank/
And as you well know this is flat out false…”from a candidate who has presided over four consecutive $1,000,000,000,000-plus deficits” The first and the one that set the bar came courtesy of the Republicans and Duhbya…Obama has reduced the run rate which is a far cry from having caused it.

Do you Cons even know what percentage of our debt is owned by China? It’s like $.08 cents of every dollar. While China is the largest nation state owning us, it’s by far the biggest owner.
About 32 cents for every dollar of U.S. debt, or $4.6 trillion, is owned by the federal government in trust funds, for Social Security and other programs such as retirement accounts, according to the U.S. Department of Treasury.
The largest portion of U.S. debt, 68 cents for every dollar or about $10 trillion, is owned by individual investors, corporations, state and local governments and, yes, even foreign governments such as China that hold Treasury bills, notes and bonds.

Romney’s foreign policy speech on Monday was another example of his tendency to lie on minor stuff as well as weighty issues. For instance, he claimed that President Barack Obama “has not signed one new free trade agreement in the past four years” though Obama secured passage of agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama and signed them in October 2011.

@Kyle, “they aren’t criticizing the $5 trillion tax-cut figure that you and Obama keep repeating.”
They seem to want to give Romney the doubt of smoke and mirrors…fact is, as they agree, Romeny wants to cut taxes by $5 trillion…what they point out is that he claims he will pay for that.
“To be clear, Romney has proposed cutting personal federal income tax rates across the board by 20 percent, in addition to extending the tax cuts enacted early in the Bush administration. He also proposes to eliminate the estate tax permanently, repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax, and eliminate taxes on interest, capital gains and dividends for taxpayers making under $200,000 a year in adjusted gross income.
By themselves, those cuts would, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, lower federal tax liability by “about $480 billion in calendar year 2015” compared with current tax policy, with Bush cuts left in place. The Obama campaign has extrapolated that figure out over 10 years, coming up with a $5 trillion figure over a decade.
However, Romney always has said he planned to offset that massive cut with equally massive reductions in tax preferences to broaden the tax base, thus losing no revenue and not increasing the deficit. So to that extent, the president is incorrect: Romney is not proposing a $5 trillion reduction in taxes.”
http://factcheck.org/2012/10/dubious-denver-debate-declarations/
My point is that it is a $5 trillion dollar tax cut…even if he pays for it and makes it revenue neutral, which BTW won’t spur the growth he is claiming. The whole thing is a sham and it doesn’t add up…even if Romney claims it does.
Until he comes out with a specific way of paying for the decrease it remains a proposed $5 trillion tax cut.

China managed to lift a billion people out of dire poverty and utter despair in only two decades. The progress is spotty still, but it shows what free enterprise can do in a business environment without corporate monopolies and obstructive politicians.
The Chinese government maintains order and builds infrastructure. Private business flourishes, people have jobs, and both consumer demand and capital grow around 8% each year. And they started from nothing!
Just think what we could accomplish for ourselves and our children if we had the presence of mind and the guts to throw off the shackles of financial manipulators, monopolistic Big Business practices, and obstructive politicians! Oops, that’s getting political, isn’t it?

Did Jim Henson and his Muppets (Big Bird, et. al.) make PBS successful or did PBS and taxpayer subsidies make Big Bird a financial success? I don’t know the background of the financial arrangements but it seems that royalties from Jim Henson’s characters and spin offs should have accrued to PBS, if the venue was his ticket to success. That could have removed any need for taxpayer subsidies.
Also, every time Bill O’Reilly or any other ‘news personality’ or program guest uses a program to hawk their books, videos, or tickets to appearance venues, they should receive a 1099 for the advertising value of that air time for promotion. You can bet they deduct their expenses associated with the same events.

Obama’s economic policies are encouraging mental illness.
As extended unemployment benefits finally expired, large numbers of out-of-work people have applied for Social Security disability benefits.
Stephen Goss, Chief Actuary of the Social Security Administration acknowledged that “when people become unemployed, they seek a way to continue having income. So, we had an increase in the number of applications and the number of people receiving benefits.”
The Social Security Administration reported that in May 2012, the latest period for which statistics are available, more than 10 million people were receiving disability benefits at an annual rate of about $130 billion. These people, incidentally, aren’t counted among the unemployed – another way the unemployment rate under-states the severity of our current crisis.
Reportedly many of the applications for disability benefits have been based on claimed mental illness. It’s difficult to independently verify such claims. Even when a claim is about a physical condition, there is no medical test for pain – doctors must rely on what patients report. During the last calendar year, there were 2.9 million applications, and about 35 percent were awarded benefits.
To the extent that disability benefits create incentives to exaggerate real or imagined problems like mental illness, they’re surely making people even less employable than they were before.

Counted among the many things I DID NOT know.
in his 2010 book “No Apology; The Case for American Greatness” Mitt Romney specifically wrote about garbage collectors, including a line about them being invisible to the suits:
“During my campaign for governor, I decided to spend a day every few weeks doing the jobs of other people in Massachusetts. Among other jobs, I cooked sausages at Fenway Park, worked on asphalt paving crew, stacked bales of hay on a farm, volunteered in an emergency room, served food at anursing home, and worked as a child-care assistant. I’m often asked which was the hardest job – it’schild care, by a mile.
“One day I gathered trash as a garbage collector. I stood on that little platform at the back of the truck, holding on as the driver navigated his way
through the narrow streets of Boston. As we pulled up to traffic lights, I noticed that the shoppers and businesspeople who were standing only a few feet from me didn’t even see me. It was as if I was invisible. Perhaps it was because a lot of us don’t think garbage men are worthy of notice; I disagree – anyone who works that hard deserves our respect. – I wasn’t a particularly good garbage collector: at one point, after filling the trough at the back of the truck, I pulled the wrong hydraulic lever. Instead of pushing the load into the truck, I dumped it onto the street. Maybe the suits didn’t notice me, but the guys at the construction site sure did…” (251)

Killing the non-profit PBS enhances the Party of Stupid’s anti-intellectual, anti-science and anti-environment positions. The tiny amount of money allowed to counter their zillions of dollars has nothing to do with it.
The corporate stooges in the GOP don’t want American citizens, especially American children, to be highly informed and passionate about this country. Thus they loathe Frontline, Nova, American Experience, Nature, American Masters, independent journalism and amazingly documentaries, great performances and dramatic masterpieces of all kinds
And Austin City Limits!
The slick guys on snake-oil lined Madison Avenue certainly don’t want ANY competition. Especially the kind that puts out more excellent programming in a week than they do in a year.
So they use their nitwit McCarthyite proxies in the Republican Party to wage war on the “competition”.
Not insignificantly because public broadcasting and collective ownership makes them look like the filth purveyors they are. And the HUGE money for keeping people uninformed, culturally illiterate, dumbed down, happy dolts is simply too great to create an equally high quality product.

The main issue regarding Romney’s comment about Sesame Street is that Romney, when he had a chance to say something substantial about his plan to cut programs “so critical it’s worth borrowing money from China to pay for it,” chose two examples of those that, in his opinion, were not in that category: PBS and the Affordable Care Act. Elimination of one (PBS) woud be a saving completely trivial in budget terms. The other example shows that for Romney a program providing health coverage to millions of Americans and improved health coverage to more millions, a program based on the one he is proud of, is just not critical enough.

Project much, MarkV?
First, as was pointed out months ago, the “model” being used for Obamacare is false at it’s core. It will cost a company less money to pay a fine for NOT providing healthcare than it will to provide the actual healthcare – about 3-4 times less, in fact. It will also cost the average family less to pay the “tax” for not having insurance than it would be to pay for the insurance – as much as 5-6 times less.
So Obamacare won’t provide healthcare to more people; it will ultimately provide less. It doesn’t reduce the cost of healthcare and it adds to our deficit.
Why wouldn’t anyone want to get rid of it?

There’s a simple solution to this whole problem. Just eliminate anything in the federal budget that is not military industrial complex spending. Since spending on the military industrial complex consumes all of our non-social security and non-medicare tax revenues will have a balanced budget overnight!

Obamacare summed up in one sentence:
“We’re going to be gifted with a healthcare plan we are forced to purchase, and fined if we don’t, which puportedly covers at least 10 million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted social security and medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that’s broke.”
“So, what the blank could possibly go wrong?”

MarkV, you should really keep track of your own words, son: “The other example shows that for Romney a program providing health coverage to millions of Americans and improved health coverage to more millions, a program based on the one he is proud of,”
“Second, in spite of all the hot air talk from the right about state vs. federal , nobody has ever presented a cogent argument why the type of this program that is successful (according to Romney) in a state would be wrong for the nation.”

Simple stuff, MarkV, even for you.
Take the amount of the fine an employer is going to pay per person for not providing health care. Then take the per person average contribution to health care each employer makes. Subtract the lower number from the higher number to get your amount that companies will save by dumping health care coverage.
Now, take the “tax” that individuals are going to pay if they do not carry insurance under Obamacare. Subtract that from the total cost of health care per person per year they now pay or will pay. The difference is the amount that family will save by not buying health care.
In EVERY case, the fine/”tax” is smaller than the cost to provide healthcare.

What does that say about the Obama record. His major accomplishment “Obamacare” is disliked by the voters, and everyone is tired of hearing about “Osama is dead”, so he has nothing to tell the American people as a reason he should be reelected other than “that Romney is going to do away with Big Bird”. He has tried to “define” Romney as a mean spirited money grubbing out of touch rich guy, but America is not buying it. Romney defined himself and shocked Barry, so now he is left with Big Bird, Elmo, and the Cookie Monster. How could any self respecting person, respect this great Mistake.

Odd@6:08, etc. I feel very sorry for you, both for your being misinformed about Romney, but mostly for your inability to see the big picture.
The fed. govt. is broke. All the programs you mentioned are in jeopardy. Obama has done NOTHING to address one problem. His budget was voted down in House 414 to 0 & in the Senate 99 to 0. It included raising all the taxes in his dreams & speeches, on everything & everyone, & would have taken us into oblivion. There is no hope & no change.
Our routine for years was coming home from work & watching the local & natl. news. We are mad as #%$ that we were deceived. You are, too. If you are not seeing what is happening in Europe right now, you are in the dark. It’s the future of America because we are doing the same things they did. Some of the Democratic states are in worse shape than the fed. govt.
There is no way that a flashy career politician can get us out of this trouble. Only a professional businessman like Romney can do it. This is his specialty: taking over companies that are in such bad shape that no bank will loan them a dime & turning about 80% of them into successful companies. He did the same thing to the state of Mass. & for the Olympics. He is allergic to red ink. We are lucky he is willing to take on such a massive job.

Here is something for all you libs to think about when you go to the ballot box.
“Now, the economy is falling apart and people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn’t. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed 42 years of my life for. Yes, business ownership has its benefits, but the price I’ve paid is steep and not without wounds. Unfortunately, the costs of running a business have gotten out of control, and let me tell you why: We are being taxed to death and the government thinks we don’t pay enough. We pay state taxes, federal taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, payroll taxes, workers compensation taxes and unemployment taxes. I even have to hire an entire department to manage all these taxes. The question I have is this: Who is really stimulating the economy? Is it the Government that wants to take money from those who have earned it and give it to those who have not, or is it people like me who built a company out of his garage and directly employs over 7000 people and hosts over 3 million people per year with a great vacation?
Obviously, our present government believes that taking my money is the right economic stimulus for this country. The fact is, if I deducted 50% of your paycheck you’d quit and you wouldn’t work here. I mean, why should you? Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, that’s what happens to me. [...]”
“Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate business, not kill it. However, the power brokers in Washington believe redistributing wealth is the essential driver of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change they want.
So where am I going with all this? It’s quite simple. If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company. Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone.
So, when you make your decision to vote, ask yourself, which candidate understands the economics of business ownership and who doesn’t? Whose policies will endanger your job? Answer those questions and you should know who might be the one capable of protecting and saving your job. While the media wants to tell you to believe the “1 percenters” are bad, I’m telling you they are not. They create most of the jobs. If you lose your job, it won’t be at the hands of the “1%”; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country.
You see, I can no longer support a system that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, so will your opportunities. If that happens, you can find me in the Caribbean sitting on the beach, under a palm tree, retired, and with no employees to worry about.
Signed, your boss,
David Siegel

The problem with Obama is that is doesn’t want to BE the president. He likes to campaign to BE the president & likes to pretend to BE the president.
Obama is a great delegater, getting other people to do the work. He hates meetings, even the daily natl. security briefings. He doesn’t meet with his jobs council or his cabinet members, or members of congress, even the Dem. leadership. He hates making tough decisions & taking tough questions. He hates meeting with the press, except for controlled one-on-on interviews.
Obama loves campaigning, giving speeches with his teleprompter to screaming fans in a controlled crowd, spreading propaganda, dining with the rich Hollywood crowd paying $50,000 per plate to watch him eat.
Obama loves to pretend to be the president. He loves the perks, the White House, the plane, the helicopter, the motorcade, the Secret Service, the trips abroad, the state dinners, the cameras, the lights, the action.

I think Obama is beginning to realize that being President requires mass quantities of intelligence along with hard work, common sense, long hours, negotiating skills and that its not all fun, parties and playtime.
This being the case he wants out. Obama knows he is a slacker and that community organizing is his thing. Yes a job with zero accountability would suit him much better.

Why is not extending the Obama tax cuts for the rich so important to Obama. Only raises something like 70 B a year. How many hours of Pentagon spending will that take care of? Insignificant amount, it will not even fund his “green energy boondoggles” that he spent $90B on.

Unfortunately, our government simply prints $1,000,000,000,000.00 a year to cover the costs.

Without a teleprompter, with words written by someone else Obama is lost while thinking his Muslim bubble is going to bust. The guy does not have the United States at heart. He is following the 1930’s Roosevelt doctrine that was failing right and left, including trying to stack the supreme court until World War II came long. I was there and the current erepopulation does not know what hardship is. There were no food stamps, no unemployment checks or social security checks. We lived by the railraod tracks and I watched my grandmother feed alot of hobo’s with our food scraps. Our country needs an attitude adjustment. 9 Things That Show Mitt Romney Is Morally Bankrupt
1. The smug non-smoker took big bucks to push smoking on Russians.
2. Slams government economic investment despite having taken government contracts.
3. Opposes abortion, but invested in company that disposes of aborted fetuses.
4. Decries corruption in other countries but facilitated it in his own.
5. Insults low-income Americans for not paying federal income tax, while not paying federal income tax on almost all of his income.
6. Calls for more transparency from his opponent while hiding his own tax returns, squirreling millions offshore and using accounting tricks to lower his tax rate.
7. Painted his opponent as a fibbing child while building an entire campaign on lies.
8. Claims to have the “best interests of the African American community” in his heart while running a race-baiting campaign.
9. Wears the mantle of protectionist, China-battling job creator after having put thousands of U.S. workers out of jobs and bought into a giant Chinese sweatshop.

Linda @11:50 pm
“MarkV@11:35, You didn’t “HER stupid.” What is that?”
There are people who have the intelligence to understand the difference between calling a person stupid (lacking in common sense, perception, or normal intelligence) and calling a statement stupid (pointless; worthless) [Dictionary], and some who don’t. There are also those who simply lie, such as when they charge that I call people stupid for not agreeing with me.
(For those, who have the necessary intelligence, but have not applied it yet to this subject, I offer an example: What Mitt Romney said about the “47%” was a stupid statement (one may argue whether it was stupid because of the substance, or because it was semi-publicly stated, or both). But that does NOT mean that Mitt Romney is a stupid person.)
Linda: “You used the word stupid in its various forms 5 times within 4 sentences.”
When dealing with such a conglomerate of stupidities, as the quoted statement by Dr. Barbara Bellar, candidate, Ill. State Senate (Linda, October 9th, 2012 @6:21 pm), is using it 5-times in various forms too much?
(For those, who have not read the statement in question, Dr. Bellar was quoted as attacking a piece of legislation (Affordable Care Act) on the basis of such arguments as that it was “signed by a president who smokes,” that its funding will be “administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes,” that is “to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,” etc.)
But, perhaps I could be accused on stylistic grounds, using the same word more than once? Should I have mixed the characterization, and replace some of the “stupid” with “dumb,” “idiotic,” “asinine,” fatuous?” Would that help?
Linda: “Has anyone ever called you a narcissist?”
And then there are people who have the knowledge and intelligence to know what “narcissist” means, and those who don’t.

“There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda,” he told the Des Moines Register on Tuesday 10/09/12 . Not long afterwards, there was an apparent reversal, with his campaign spokeswoman telling the National Review’s Katrina Trinko that Romney would “of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life.”

We should call him by his real name, Barack Hussein Obama!! It is obvious he is very proud of his Muslim middle name.
This is what im talking about.

It’s easy to debate when you have no backbone and refuse to take a stand on a position.
If that indicates success in a debate, Obama must have won. Four years of flip flopping and blaming, he should have the experience necessary to win all the debates. Hard to hold him accountable, when everything that happened on his watch was either someone else’s fault or has been misunderstood. Did he say that the attack on the Consulate was because of a video or was he misinformed by those liars in the State Dept?

One can only “evolve” TO the pre-approved politically correct position. Moving FROM such a position is not allowed by the Cheshire cats here in Wonderland who define such words as “evolve.”

“first, people who buy stuff are paying taxes.”
Yes, but at a far lower rate than those who pay actual income taxes, and usually for very specific purposes (SPLOST) and not much towards the general welfare.
“second, you can work two or three jobs and still not earn enough to pay income taxes.”
Huge stretch there. Yeah, you can, but you’d have to be incredibly unskilled at everything (except finding work so low-paid) in order for that to happen. Otherwise, you pay income taxes once the revenues are all totaled up.
“third, do you have a problem with people not paying taxes or with people taking advantage of entitlements?”
Both. Everybody should have skin in the game as far as paying taxes, and entitlements should be a last, not first, resort.

I would call Barry a chameleon but he has more colors than a chameleon. Is he the peace maker that won the Nobel Prize, the Warrior that took out Osama and launched all those drones, the black preacher we saw in the Hampton 2007 video, the post racial President we elected, the marvelous orator that reads from the teleprompter, or the stumbling bumbling inarticulate debater? Is he the Professor or the ignorant pupil?
Barry/Hussein- He is what you want him to be, get on board!

“Is it not morally wrong that people with so much pay half the rate I do ?”
they don’t…..but it is morally bankrupt to suggest they do. The rates are the same for EVERYBODY……….unless one compares apples to oranges.
