From The Fix at the Washington Post (headline: “Seniors [heart] Paul Ryan”), a result that cannot be received well at Obama 2012 headquarters:
Grandma isn’t scared of Paul Ryan.
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows 41 percent of Americans view the new GOP vice presidential nominee favorably, while 37 percent rate him unfavorably — slightly improved from last week’s polling.
Among seniors, though, the numbers are even better for Ryan: 50 percent favorable and 35 percent unfavorable. Fully one-third of seniors say they have a strongly favorable view of the Wisconsin congressman, while one-quarter have a strongly unfavorable view.
In fact, those seniors whose view of Ryan is “strongly favorable” virtually tie all those who view him unfavorably to any degree, 33 percent to 35 percent. This suggests seniors don’t buy Democrats’ false attacks that Ryan and Mitt Romney would change the deal for current retirees.
For the record, that “slightly improved” standing for Ryan among all age groups is a move from a net minus-3 to a net plus-4. Meanwhile, the ranks of the undecided fell by 17 percentage points. That means more than two-thirds of those who settled on an opinion of Ryan during the past week now view him favorably. (No breakdown of seniors’ opinion in the earlier poll is available, so we have no trend for their views.)
More broadly, President Obama’s lead over Romney in the Real Clear Politics average of polls has fallen from 4.7 percentage points the day after Romney introduced Ryan as his running mate to 1.5 points today.

GARY JOHNSON 2012. At least I can look at myself in the mirror with that vote.
Yep, go ahead and vote for Obama, it is GA, which is going for Romney, so you can vote for Al Franken if you want, it will not matter. 13 electoral votes for Romney is all that matters.

It amazes me that America can’t see what scum the democrats really are.
We got a “president” that hangs out with drug dealers and rap stars that sing about raping their hoes, while he says Republicans wage war on women because they don’t want to pay 10 bucks for their birth control scrip.
We got commenters on a blog wishing that people would die so they can get hooked up with some more freebies.

@Lil Barry Bailout,
I keep seeing the absolutely stupid things you say in many of these postings. Are you really not bright or do you just listen only to people like Limbaugh, Hannity, Fox News, etc. who tell you what you should think and say. They may not be called to account on this earth for the damage they have done to America with their spewing of hate but there will be an accounting some day.
And before you go blasting off about the ‘libertards’, I don’t listen to the ones on the left either who do the same thing. It’s all evil. But people like you seem to believe every hateful and untrue word that comes out of their mouths.
Do everyone a favor (this can go for Kyle as well), do some real research before you put out stuff like this.

You do get a few discounts with AARP but mainly you get come-ons to sell you term life insurance, Medicare supplemental insurance and about every other kind of insurance under the sun. In my opinion, the AARP has basically just become a clearing house to sell insurance.

Your comment seems to assume that doctors that make more money are, by your definition, greedier. Is that what you are implying? Or can we agree that doctors who as a result of their skills improve more lives in more significant ways are possibly worth more than their peers?
If I’m better at getting people well, shouldn’t I be rewarded for my diligence and skills? Inquiring minds want to know.

From hope and change to fear and smear, Kyle. obumer even went so far as to chide Romney by accusing him of the very tactics obumer is using: Throwing anything and everything against the wall in hopes that something will stick.
Only problem is, something has stuck… to obumer shoes, cause he done stepped in it!

“Your comment seems to assume that doctors that make more money are, by your definition, greedier. ”
Not at all. A previous poster have implied, wrongly I believe, that “the best and the brightest” medical students are motivated by money to enter the field of medicine, and that any reduction in the amount of compensation medical professional receive would result in a decline in the caliber of med. school applicants. As someone who deals with young people on a daily basis, I just don’t see it. I’ve never had a kid tell me he wants to go to med school so he can make a lot of money.
I have no problem with medical professionals being paid well for what they do. But I would worry about a medical professional who was more worried about his portfolio than with his patient’s well-being.

The Ryan plan to save Medicare was originally proposed by Democrats. Clearly, the only reason Dems oppose it now is because they’re determined to obstruct any Republican proposal in hopes of benefitting politically.
Democrats: Party first, every time, and to hell with America.

Del is right. The Democrats just keep cutting payments to doctors. Its already hard for people on medicare to find doctors in rural America. Doctors just opt not to take those patients. But rural America is overwhelmingly Republican and so the Democrats don’t understand what they are doing. And it will eventually drive people out of medicine. Its simple economics, which Democratic leaders seem to be ignorant of. Medicare can’t be balanced on the backs of doctors.
