Here goes nothing . . .
It’s been a few weeks now since I started putting all comments in moderation (roughly) between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. That has worked out well, I think, and I’m not planning to change that anytime soon. In the spirit of compromise, however, I’m going to experiment with something this weekend: an open thread.
I’ve never done an open thread, which I’ve seen other bloggers use as a way for readers to talk about whatever topic they choose. It would probably make more sense on my blog if I were stricter about keeping comments on-topic, but I do have a reason for doing it: I’d like to keep commenting on-topic for my Sunday print column, which I typically post here on Friday evenings.
So, here’s what I’d like to try: On Friday afternoons, I’ll post the open thread for the weekend, on which y’all can keep talking politics, swap YouTube links, talk sports, whatever — as long as you continue to follow the rules, I don’t care which topics you address. My request from y’all is that you stick to the topic on the Sunday column post.
If it works, I may kick off each week’s open thread with an apolitical topic of my own. It might one day evolve to take on more of a regular theme on my part, a la Jay’s Friday travelin’ music. Or it might not. We’ll have to see how it goes. And if it becomes too much of a magnet for trashy talk that creates too many headaches, I’ll have no qualms about ending it.
That was far too long to be a preamble for something else, so I’ll leave it at that. Without further ado, here is your weekend OPEN THREAD. Enjoy.

Homosexual behavior in animals refers to the documented evidence of homosexual and bisexual behavior in various (non-human) species. Such behaviors include sex, courtship, affection, pair bonding, and parenting among same sex animals. A 1999 review by researcher Bruce Bagemihl shows that homosexual behavior has been observed in close to 1,500 species, ranging from primates to gut worms, and is well documented for 500 of them.
Animal sexual behaviour takes many different forms, even within the same species. The motivations for and implications of these behaviors have yet to be fully understood, since most species have yet to be fully studied. According to Bagemihl, “the animal kingdom [does] it with much greater sexual diversity – including homosexual, bisexual and nonreproductive sex – than the scientific community and society at large have previously been willing to accept.”
Current research indicates that various forms of same-sex sexual behavior are found throughout the animal kingdom.
A new review made in 2009 of existing research showed that same-sex behavior is a nearly universal phenomenon in the animal kingdom, common across species. Homosexual behavior is best known from social species. According to geneticist Simon Levay in 1996, “Although homosexual behavior is very common in the animal world, it seems to be very uncommon that individual animals have a long-lasting predisposition to engage in such behavior to the exclusion of heterosexual activities. Thus, a homosexual orientation, if one can speak of such thing in animals, seems to be a rarity. One species in which exclusive homosexual orientation occurs, however, is that of domesticated sheep (Ovis aries). “About 10% of rams (males) refuse to mate with ewes (females) but do readily mate with other rams.”

If it is unpatriotic for someone to put their own money in over seas banks what is it when someone takes tax payer money that was voted to be used to “stimulate” the U.S. economy and gives it to companies to take it over seas? Obama has sent more jobs over seas personally than any other living human being and used our tax dollars to do it. The examples are many and are well known by the very people accusing Romney of sending jobs over seas. What hypocrites.

Well, hate to approach something serious on the Utube, music blog, however, the Dems have started efforts to, as the Libs so like to call it, “Disenfranchise” the military vote once again.
Obama and company filed suit today to overturn the Ohio Law that allows more time for military people to early vote.
It is not OK, according to Holder, to require people to show an ID, before voting, but it is OK to not allow military people to vote early.

Jobs began going over seas long before Obama was ever heard of. H1B visa workers were being imported (sponsored) by US companies long before Obama. All sectors of American employment are becoming immuned to this. So just what is it that Mitt Romney is going to do?
Okay so you don’t like the health care bill. With what would you replace it? I’ve not heard a single opposing politician discuss what would replace the existing bill. My premiums were going up long before Obama.
