OK, I admit it: I saw this on Power Line earlier today and was convinced it was really a hoax. Then I finally got the email from the Democratic National Committee, with a link to the latest innovation in bumper-sticker politics:
Yes, this is bound to be a campaign full of substance and thoughtfulness. Yessirree.
Well, if all sides are determined to keep this campaign on the low road, I might finally have to surrender and play along. One can only guess the only slogans that were considered and rejected …
“Democrats: Not to be confused with any other parties”
“Democrats: Alphabetically superior”
“Democrats: Hey, look — George W. Bush!”
“Democrats: Fresh out of short, vapid slogans”
“Democrats: Get our full message on Twitter”
And it’s not even silly season yet. (Sigh.)

For what it’s worth, I happen to agree with Kyle that the “Not a Republican” sticker is kind of stupid. I cringed a bit when I saw it; all I could think was, “the DNC, they sure do stink at provocation.”
But if you’re looking for merch with actual Democratic ideas spelled out clearly, there is this.

So Mr. Wingfield begins his search for serious, issue-driven, intellectual dialogue in the political arena by examining … bumper stickers. Shrewd thinking, sir. Very shrewd.
One can only guess other forms of expression were examined and rejected for not fitting a pre-conceived partisan thesis.

OY, how hard can it be to understand?
Think of federal budget deficits themselves as barometers of economic activity: when economic activity declines, tax revenues plunge and social welfare expenditures rise as more people are thrown out of work. As a consequence, in bad economic times, there are higher deficits; conversely, when prosperity returns, deficits decrease.

Fair enough, but just because you get an email about something doesn’t necessarily mean you have to blog about it. Of course we true Patriots had frightened little cowards back then too—————————April 19——————
.
The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War.They were fought on April 19, 1775, in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy (present-day Arlington), and Cambridge, near Boston. The battles marked the outbreak of open armed conflict between the Kingdom of Great Britain and its thirteen colonies in the mainland of British North America.
.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his “Concord Hymn”, described the first shot fired by the Patriots at the North Bridge as the “shot heard ’round the world.”

In parenthesis is mine———
Percy took the land route across Boston Neck and over the Great Bridge, which some enterprising colonists had stripped of its planking to delay their way. His men then came upon an absent-minded tutor at HARVARD COLLEGE (that place generates nothing but trouble and idiots) and asked him which road would take them to Lexington. The Harvard man, apparently oblivious to the reality of what was happening around him,(typical Harvard graduate, nothing has changed for two hundred years) showed him the proper road without thinking. (He was later compelled to leave the country for inadvertently supporting the enemy.)(GOOD RIDDANCE)…. Percy’s troops arrived in Lexington at about 2:00 pm. They could hear gunfire in the distance as they set up their cannon and lines of regulars on high ground with commanding views of the town. Colonel Smith’s men approached like a fleeing mob with the full complement of colonial militia in close formation pursuing them. Percy ordered his artillery to open fire at extreme range, dispersing the colonial militiamen. Smith’s men collapsed with exhaustion once they reached the safety of Percy’s lines.
Against the advice of his Master of Ordnance, Percy had left Boston without spare ammunition for his men or for the two artillery pieces they brought with them, thinking the extra wagons would slow him down. Each man in Percy’s brigade had only 36 rounds, and each artillery piece was supplied with only a few rounds carried in side-boxes. After Percy had left the city, Gage directed two ammunition wagons guarded by one officer and thirteen men to follow. This convoy was intercepted by a small party of older, former militiamen,(REAL PATRIOTS) still on the “alarm list” who could not join their militia companies because they were well over 60. These men rose up in ambush and demanded the surrender of the wagons, but the regulars ignored them and drove their horses on. The old men opened fire, shot the lead horses, killed two sergeants, and wounded the officer.(h*ll YEAH)…..The survivors ran, (like cowards do)and six of them threw their weapons into a pond before they surrendered.(not unlike Obama/Romney supporters would do).

Percy wrote of the colonial tactics, “The rebels attacked us in a very scattered, irregular manner, but with perseverance and resolution, nor did they ever dare to form into any regular body. Indeed, they knew too well what was proper, to do so. Whoever looks upon them as an irregular mob, will find himself very much mistaken.

In the morning, Boston was surrounded by a huge militia army, numbering over 15,000, which had marched from throughout New England…Unlike the Powder Alarm, the rumors of spilled blood were true, and the Revolutionary War had BEGUN. The militia army continued to grow as surrounding colonies sent men and supplies. The Second Continental Congress adopted these men into the beginnings of the Continental Army. Even now, after open warfare had started, Gage still refused to impose martial law in Boston. He persuaded the town’s selectmen to surrender all PRIVATE WEAPONS(sound familiar?) in return for promising that any inhabitant could leave town.
.
George Washington received the news at Mount Vernon and wrote to a friend, “the once-happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched in blood or inhabited by SLAVES.(probably considered a terrorist today). Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice.

Since this is 4/20, an unofficial day of celebration for most pot smokers under the age of 50 or so, I just wanted to say, “End the War on Drugs!”
It sure hasn’t helped reduce the amount of drugs taken, and when you a regime that says that pot is more dangerous than cocaine then you know something is messed up. We jail young black men (and others, but it hits the black community hardest) who just want to smoke a joint peacably, and by the time these non-violent offenders are let out of jail, they have become hardened criminals. Or they find they’ve missed the chance to gather skills for a decent life, and instead resort to crime since they can’t get hired for anything due to their ex-con status.
End the War on Drugs, it will do far more to help the inner city neighborhoods in our country than any amount of money or “helping hands” or war on poverty programs. More children will get to grow up with fathers, more black women will be able to marry their baby-daddy (oh how I hate that term), jails will be less overcrowded…. Tax the hell out of it, that’s fine.
But don’t you dare tell me pot is really dangerous and worse than alcohol because anyone who has gotten high and gotten drunk knows you are full of bull.
Happy 4/20!

The premise of both parties has become “Hey, vote for us, we aren’t THEM.” The two party monopoly that has destroyed this country and siezed control of liberty and freedom offers nothing in the way of good governance or good ideas. They most either has to offer is fear of the other party and demands for blind faith and support because “the other side is worse.”
We no longer vote FOR candidates but AGAINST the other side. Just look at the GOP this year. The general sentiment is supposedly against liberal candidates and yet Romney was selected early on by the leadership and Goldman Sachs and every stop – including blatant vote switching, caucus corruption, etc. has been done to insure his nomination. He is the most un-supported candidate in many generations and yet the sheep in the GOP will vote for him simply because they actually believe that Obama will be worse. News flash – they are one in the same person. Obama’s policies are those of Bush and there is nothing that Obama supports that Romney will not support once elected either (obviously including a complete government takeover of healthcare).
Don’t single out the Democrats. They have been a worthless party since they abandoned their principles after the Civil War. It is the republicans that talk the talk of small government, low taxes, more freedom and the constitution and then vote for the Patriot Act, bank bailouts, NDAA, and overseas empire.
There is only one party in this country – the warfare/welfare party. Both wings of this party do everything they can to convince the voters there is a difference so that they will vote for them. As soon as the voters finally realize that there is NO fundamental difference we might get our country and our freedom back. Until then the sheeple will continue voting for one over the other simply because they are not them. How truly sad.
The Ron Paul Revolution is finally revealing these truths, and while he is a member of the GOP, he stands alone in representing the principles that both parties only talk about but never deliver on. Sound foreign policy, personal and civil liberties, sound money, small government, etc. The hope in Ron Paul is that the duplicitous one party system we have will come tumbling down and more and more abandone the hollow shells of fear that they both have become.

Tucker Carlson, the conservative commentator and editor-in-chief of the The Daily Caller, said publicly what many on the right are thinking at a speech last week to the Cato Institute.
“There are only two people in world history who have signed laws containing an individual mandate,” said Carlson, according to The Washington Examiner. “One’s the president, the other’s running against him. So somehow, out of 315 million Americans, the Republican Party managed to find the one guy who couldn’t run on Obamacare.”

If Perot was 20 years younger he would win this election in a landslide against either Hussein Oblama or Mitt Romney (Obama Light). This election is about the economy, jobs and reduction of this alarming Fed debt that both parties and the VOTERS are responsible for. With no other choice. the only choice for the economy, jobs and the Fed debt reduction is Obama Light – Mitt Romney. Oblama has shown he can spend. His party won’t vote to reduce the debt. The Fed pumped $7,000,000,000 in to the economy during Oblama’s term and what do we have? More debt and the slowest so called recovery in history.

Allow me to quote Lewis Black: “There’s the Republicans, who are the party of no ideas and the Democrats are the party of bad ideas. So the way it works is a Democrat stands up and yells: ‘I got a really bad idea!’ To which a Republican replies, ‘And I can make it spittier!’”
