This is a potential game-changer. From the Associated Press:
Texas Gov. Rick Perry will abandon his presidential bid and endorse Newt Gingrich, two Republican officials said Thursday, a move coming just two days before the pivotal South Carolina primary as Republican front-runner Mitt Romney struggles to fend off a challenge from the former House speaker.
Not because Perry commands a huge segment of the GOP electorate at this point — if he did, he wouldn’t be dropping out — but because it means the consolidation of the Not Romneys is truly in full swing. And with Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain already long gone, Perry is in the best position to signal which Not Romney has the best chance of beating Romney. Apparently, Rick Santorum isn’t getting the nod. (Ron Paul never stood a chance of getting Perry’s support imo.)
If anyone has a chance of beating Romney now, it’s Gingrich.

HDB….your biased opinions have to merit. The economy has worsened in nearly 4 years under Obama. HE EVEN ADMITS IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE.
So what about the other 1,999,999,999 that have lost their jobs under Obama?

The political atmosphere makes a BIG difference!! When Democrats are in power, ALL candidates are to be considered; when Republicans are in power, only the privileged FEW are considered!! THAT’S the difference!! I was told by many hiring managers during the Reagan Years: “We don’t have to worry about abiding by Affirmative Action any more; we can hire who we want now!”
That is still a prevalent attitude amongst Republicans….even though a qualified minority has applied for a job! The phrase “overqualified” did not pertain to many white candidates — until RECENTLY…whereas many qualified minorities have heard that they were “overqualified”…..
IT DOES HAPPEN!!!

Ask those 44,000 people at United Airlines who LOST jobs under Bush in one WEEK!
Ask those 3M IT professionals who couldn’t FIND jobs from 2001-2003 under Bush…..
BLS also showed that under Bush, we were LOSING 750K job monthly from 2007-2009!!
There’s more behind it than you think!!

Ron Paul will beat Romney. Romney will beat Romney for there is no better argument against Romney than his own record. Gingrich is the clown the media are trying to prop up to help destroy Romney but in no way does he have a chance in hell of the nomination. What exactly is wrong with republicans? They want an “electable” candidate and all they can drag out and support are liberal losers like Romney and Gingrich.

Obama is going to roll over whichever of the Angry Rich Old White Guys is left standing. This general election will be, thankfully, the last hurrah of the 1990’s Republicans. Time for some new blood and a move back to the center. I’m thinking Hunstman will look pretty good in 2016, and I don’t see the Dems having anybody strong on deck after Obama finishes his second term.

There are two million fewer jobs today than when Failboy took office. On the other hand, jobs increased by four million under our President Bush.
Don’t fear facts, Democrats. Join with America and demand an end to the job-destroying scheming of Obozo.

As one who supports our President, I had resigned myself to the fact that he probably would not be re-elected if the republicans nominate Governor Romney. I had even begun to think that Governor Romney’s pragmatic politics and business expertise may be a better choice.
Now, it looks that the thrice married, self confessed adulterer running for the republican nomination may be making a comeback!
Other than the former governor of Alaska who quit in order to make money or the pizza salesman who briefly ran for the nomination, I could not be more pleased with the republican’s new choice!!!

While I admire Ron Paul and think he is a good guy, if he got elected do you know what would happen in Washington? Nothing! Just like now with Oblamer. The dem and repub insiders would gridlock his ideas, and nothing would happen. Too much money from military companies floats around for him to be pulling troops home from all over the world, which I actually like. Newt’s my hero, because any guy that looks like him shouldn’t be having ho problems, but dude can score!

Totally agree with one poster who said that if Ron Paul pulls out, his voters will go to no one. Those are die hard Ron Paul supporters and true Libertarians. They will vote Gary Johnson of the LP Party if Paul doesn’t run as their candidate. Ron Paul also will not endorse anyone. So it’s a losing proposition for Republicans if Romney wins the nomination. Ron Paul has a better chance of beating Obama only because Republicans will vote Republican no matter who the candidate just to beat Obama.

Rick Perry’s campaign was over the second it was disclosed at one of the earlier debates that he promoted subsidized state university tuition for illegal aliens in Texas. It was like a switch had been turned off, you knew at that very instant he was done.
Memo to Rick: if you want to be President of the United States the last thing conservatives and Republicans want to hear is special privileges for border jumpers. What an idiot.
