Poll: Tea party trumps OWS

If a recent opinion survey by Public Policy Polling is any indication, the end of the full Occupation of Wall Street might have been the best thing that could have happened to the movement. Not because it will earn them public sympathy, but because the occupation itself had become the least sympathetic thing about the group.

From PPP’s write-up of its poll:

The Occupy Wall Street movement is not wearing well with voters across the country. Only 33% now say that they are supportive of its goals, compared to 45% who say they oppose them. That represents an 11 point shift in the wrong direction for the movement’s support compared to a month ago when 35% of voters said they supported it and 36% were opposed. Most notably independents have gone from supporting Occupy Wall Street’s goals 39/34, to opposing them 34/42. … what the downturn in Occupy Wall Street’s image suggests is that voters are seeing the movement as more about the ‘Occupy’ than the ‘Wall Street.’ The controversy over the protests is starting to drown out the actual message.

The author, PPP’s Tom Jensen, says he believes this turnaround is not because Americans are not concerned about inequality; to support that opinion, he cites three earlier polls (done, let’s note, for very a couple of very left-wing organizations). But those results don’t exactly square with the contrast between support for OWS’s goals and those of the tea party, which he mentions in the same post:

Voters don’t care for the Tea Party either, with 42% saying they support its goals to 45% opposed. But asked whether they have a higher opinion of the Tea Party or Occupy Wall Street movement the Tea Party wins out 43-37, representing a flip from last month when Occupy Wall Street won out 40-37 on that question. Again the movement with independents is notable- from preferring Occupy Wall Street 43-34, to siding with the Tea Party 44-40.

I don’t think one can equate 42-45 approval/disapproval ratings, within the poll’s margin of error (3.5 percent), with a 33-45 split. And the rest of the numbers, particularly the ones for independent voters, speak for themselves.

To the degree that the tea party and OWS have identified some of the same problems — e.g., bailouts and other examples of crony capitalism — it would appear the tea partyers are better spokespeople. If the Occupiers want to change that, they’ll have to figure out how to do something other than form dirty, crime-ridden squatters’ encampments. That wasn’t working.

I’ve been trying for weeks to get a response from a lib on Oscama’s dirty dealings, but usually nothing. I did get a response from Bookman saying it was poor administrative oversight or some horsesh!t but the libs are always the ones bringing up corruption. That type of blind loyalty is probably what enables thugs to gain power like Hitler. Maybe they don’t mention them on the lib shows like the Ded Show or Sh!t Matthews?

Let’s see, the tea party, weapons, hate, protesting AGAINST their own interests, they get a pass.

OWS, peaceful, against wall street and the ri-donk-ulous profits they are making at the expense of ALL of us. Considered by the Masters that own the government that they are “dangerous mobs” removed forcibly for no legitimate or lawful reason.

Hmmm, sounds like Tinamen Square, Bejing, China.

Lets see, the liberal party, demonstrations, hate, longing for a totalitarian government against their best interests, longing to be taken care of by the government, too dumb and trusting of government to know. Tea party, peaceful, hard working, industrious, educated, wanting freedom over government intrusion and handouts, opportunities for us to achieve through hard work and discipline, believing that neighbors and churches help those who need a hand up, not the federal government. What we earn we keep, and give extra through charity. You want the government to take from me and give it to you. You lefties truly make me sick!

The best way out for the occupy wall street protesters is to organize the movement using following steps: (i)Should have central organization with at least 20 office bearers of good standing and clean honest career including President Carter and so on; (ii) Divide the groups based on their grievances like homeless, mortgage foreclosures, unemployed, medical issues, graduates unemployed, unemployed due to outsource, large bank greediness, stock market greediness, political corruption, lobbies terrors, capitalists greediness; millionaires greediness and so many others (iii) each specified group should be directed to join hands together and stage demonstration during the working hours at location of their head offices through out America on daily basis. The protesters can meet at the central place but divide in groups to demonstrate at different locations peacefully keeping good manner and following rules and regulation using non-violence means distributing and shouting meaningful slogans and hand over write-up to the media, press and who ever is visiting these buildings. Unless the movement is planed and projected in a organized way, nothing will happen. The 1% interested party is waiting for the early demise of the movement. They think it is almost at the last stage and burial is closer than they thought.

TRUTH: “wall street and the ri-donk-ulous profits they are making at the expense of ALL of us”
————————

Wall Street makes profits by providing services to people who pay for them, mostly the wealthy. They don’t make squat off poor and middle class schlubs.

If you have a problem with their profits, don’t use their services. Problem solved.

Like Fannie and Freddie, the housing collapse hit FHA hard. The difference is that the FHA has since become the political class’s main substitute for the private subprime lending it once encouraged. As subprime lending vanished after the crash, FHA became the major lender for marginal borrowers. The share of new mortgages it insures has risen to 24% in July, the latest data available, from 6% in 2007.

Desperately trying to reinflate the housing bubble, gee, I wonder why the dummycrats didn’t learn their lesson? Oh yeah, because their dimwit voters will blame “Wall Street.”

idiots.

Dear Puss Perot

YOU SAY -Tea party, peaceful, hard working, industrious, educated. What we earn we keep, and give extra through charity.

YOU MEANT – Tea Party, gun carrying hate mongers, factory workers, can re-build an old car, high school graduates. Shop at Walmart and K-Mart and donate at the Salvation Army Kettle at Christmas :) .

YOU SAY – You want the government to take from me and give it to you. You lefties truly make me sick!

I SAY – The Republicans are taking from you by blocking Obama’s Jobs Bill with their balanced budget amendment. That will eliminate 15 million jobs, cut social security for your mama, and cut medicare for your daddy.

AND WE MAKE YOU SICK? You ain’t seen nothing yet! When your republicans get through hating Obama you better not get sick because you won’t have any Obamacare! :)

I SAY – DONT BLAME THE DEMOCRATS. Blame yo boy Newt Ging-Rich who took $1.6 million from Freddie Mac to lobby on their behalf. And Newt had the gall to blast Obama about Freddie Mac when he was taking $1.6 million under the table.

Remember? Newt was fined $300,00 when he was speaker of the house for unethical behavior!

Newt says that he told ‘em that the housing market was a bubble that was about to burst. He told them that they were making a mistake handing out loans to people who couldn’t afford them. Newt says he told them what they were doing wrong and what they needed to fix it and he did get his consultancy fee for it. If all that’s true it’s a shame they didn’t listen to him.
