Newt rising, Cain stalling as bumpy GOP ride takes latest turn

OK, everyone who, back in May, had Herman Cain clinging to a lead in the polls and Newt Gingrich surging into a three-man GOP primary race in mid-November, raise your hands.

Looking … looking … looking … yeah, that’s what I thought. Join the club.

So far, the most reliable quality to the contest to become the Republican opponent for President Barack Obama next year has been its unpredictability.

Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Mitch Daniels did not run. Rick Santorum, last seen losing his bid for re-election to the Senate, and Jon Huntsman, who worked for Obama before seeking to replace him, did.

Yet both of them, along with Gary Johnson and Buddy Roemer, made it onto Georgia’s presidential primary ballot — while Tim Pawlenty, at one point endorsed by former Gov. Sonny Perdue, did not.

To say it’s been a volatile race is to say Atlanta gets warm in the summertime.

Since Cain entered it May 21, 10 days after Gingrich officially declared, six different candidates have ranked second in the Real Clear Politics average of major national polls (this and the figures that follow do not include data for Pawlenty, who dropped out Aug. 14).

Guess who’s spent the most time in second, with 63 days: Mitt Romney, the supposedly inevitable GOP nominee. Of course, Romney has also spent more days since then in first place, 112, than the other two front-runners, Cain and Rick Perry, combined.

On the other hand, both Cain and Perry have higher peaks in that average of the polls than does Romney, who still hasn’t touched 26 percent.

On the other-other hand, Romney’s the only one of the six contenders not to spend any of that time in fifth place or lower on average. Second is the lowest he’s fallen.

So far. In this race, you can’t forget to say, “so far.”

But the volatility does not yet signal that the Republicans are handing the race to Obama.

It’s clear that GOP voters feel they have a real chance to unseat the president. But their lack of decisiveness about Romney — so far — reflects both nervousness and confidence.

Nervousness, because Romney is the “safe” choice as far as persuading independent voters to turn against the president they helped elect in 2008. They’re keeping him near the top.

Confidence, because they also think there’s reason to believe even a more — how to put it? — ideologically consistent candidate could beat the rigidly liberal Obama. A less confident GOP would have thrown itself into Romney’s arms by now.

It still might do so. In the meantime, there’s a chance one of the candidates with Georgia connections could land in the top or second slot on the Republican ticket in 2012.

Gingrich is running a campaign described by national pundits as “substantive,” “wonkish” and “unconventional.” That last adjective also applies to Cain’s bid, which rose above most people’s expectations thanks to his status as a political outsider and, of course, his popular 9-9-9 plan to replace the federal tax code.

Gingrich must overcome his well-known baggage. Cain must squash past allegations of sexual harassment and, more important, show he has answers besides 9-9-9: In Wednesday’s debate, he went to that well a few times too many.

Gingrich is rising even though everyone has long known about his problems. Cain is stalling because his are still fresh. But in this race, there’s no reason to dismiss either of their candidacies.

So far.

Kyle,
They are all nerds, and fatally flawed. Too bad you could not convince Jeb to run; he is extremely talented, and very likable. If he had ran, instead of George, it is hard to imagine where we might be today, so much has happened, but likely a much better place.

I think a-lot of conservatives are willing to put aside character flaws at this juncture and look for a candidate with fresh ideas and problem solving capabilities. Mitt Romney would be a Bush like candidate, whereas Newt or Cain might actually have the stones to address the tough issues that face this country. Liberals are happy with a guy that looks presidential and delivers vague plans in the form of sound bites from a teleprompter.

Change? Lil’ Barry Bailout, well I finally allowed access to health care insurance because of “ObamaCare”. Georgia was one of the few remaining states that had bothered not set up a high risk pool for those able to pay for their own health insurance, but were blocked/locked out by the private insurance industry (for the lamest of reasons, probably just excuses to not cover those over 50 years of age, in this state). My nephews and nieces, in their early 20s, don’t have professional jobs yet having just graduated from college, but they have access to health care insurance, because “ObamaCare” extended their parent’s policies to them, until they are 26 years old. Those same kids, will be able to consolidate their college loans, so they can better able to establish themselves to be productive Americans. And, very soon, our son will be coming home. The war is over!!!

It is going to be the best Christmas ever, because President Obama can get the job done. Yes, we can!!!

I do love the way the media continues to try an pump suspense into a “cut n dry” decision that most likely has already been made by the GOP establishment. Then again Kyle and the rest got empty space and air time to fill with something, anything or anybody other than a clear winner this early (too early for their liking) now don’t they?

Albeit, I’m content to support any one of the three (Romney, Cain or Gingrich) despite facts being what they are, given that we will have a harder task ahead of us with either one of the two of them. That said, each of them has strong points and weak points as well; on that we argue, agree or agree to disagree but what should be an easy to conclude is that our opposition has narrowed this race down to one by now, despite the media’s need to feed and our emotional driven bickering amongst ourselves.

I guess so long as the media, including Kyle, only give any legitimate attention to the status quo candidates like Romney, Cain, Gingrich, Bachmann, Perry, and Huntsman, they won’t have to worry about the steadily climbing poll numbers of the only candidate that is actually offering something different from just another 4 years of Bush/Obama. But then Ron Paul threatens everything that Cox Media and the rest have a vested financial interest in, so there is little hope that they will ever give him a fair shake.

You would think that with the new PM of Greece being a former Federal Reserve economist and Trilateral Commission member, the new PM of Italy being a former Goldman Sachs guy, Cain being a former Fed director from the KC bank, Romney getting more money from Goldman Sachs this campaign than any other single contributor, the Fed being responsible for all of our economic woes that a staunch opponent of the Fed – Ron Paul, might get some air time, but no.

Oh well, he is the only candidate anyone should be talking about and any vote for anyone else is a wasted vote for america’s future, but you keep ignorning him and see if any of these other clowns will actually do the right thing for america.

Kyle:

If we go back to May, then I can honestly say that I expected Gingrich to be among the contenders.

If we go back to Oct 5 and since, then I have been predicting that Gingrich would end up the nominee. This prediction made before anyone outside of Politico knew what was about to occur.

My perspective was that Cain had peaked a bit too early and would likely struggle under the lights of “front-runner” status. Gingrich, in third at that point, would be poised to take his lead in early December in preparation for Iowa.

As I said in the post then, whether this was planned, providence, or unadulterated blind luck, the stars were setting up almost perfectly for Gingrich to take the lead at the opportune time, coalesce his support in the early primaries / caucuses, and move solidly toward his nomination as the Republican Party’s candidate.

Nothing has happened to dissuade me of that prediction (save the possibility that Cain faltered too early). However, it is equally likely that this will serve to drive some of the other candidates from the race even before Iowa which would all, but guarantee my prediction!

Character counts. It did when President Clinton created a hositle work environment in the White House via his immorality and it did when Newt Gingrich carried on an immoral affair while married.

Republicans cannot excuse the immoral lapses of people like Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain by saying that democrats excused the immorality of President Clinton.

If you want to take back the White House, you have a pro business candidate that consistently polls at or above the President. Mitt Romney has the executive experience and proven record to lead this country.

If republicans want to give away a golden opportunity to retake the White House, they will nominate Newt Gingrich or Herman Cain. If they want to win, they will nominate Mitt Romney.

Lil Barry, you are so full of it. Repeating the MF Global rant repeated from the talk show dimwits. Being a donor to President Obama’s campaign doesn’t make them cronies. And this seems to bother you mindless Repugs. It didn’t bother y’all too much when Dubya the Dumb put his best friend, Ken Lay, on his secretive Enegy Commission which decided energy policy, and deregulated a lot of the pipeline/energy business. These very same policies led to Enron being able to do their dirty work. The fact that Enron cheated, lied, cooked their books, etc. didn’t bother Dubya the Dumb and his puppet master, Dick Cheney. NOW you blather about croneyism, complain about his about face on the Keystone Pipeline–it’s about fracking time somebody tried to stop this insanity with dirty, environmentally destructive fossil fuel. Speaking of fracking…ask someone who can no longer can drink their water or sell their home because of the destruction these energy companies have caused what they think about deregulation. Yet you mimic the talking fat white guys on radio. You make fun of the fact that this administration is doing its best to foster the growth of clean energy. You are all being manipulated by the oil companies, the gas pipeline companies, the utilities that refuse to modernize their plants. The overactive libidos of Cain and Newt don’t show nearly as much “lack of character” as Dubya the Dumb, Cheney, Condoleeza Rice (who was on the board of a major oil company–which has a tanker named after her). Follow the money, dimwits. These people are not your friends, but love you because you are so gullible and stupid.

Glad I don’t met your qualifications as a mindless Repug and I hope you’re not of the empty-headed belief that the demwit democraps are any less hypocritically supportive dirty energy?

I mean doing the same exact dirty things in someone else’s backyard on their side of the planet, not our’s and having to use a military to do it, isn’t quite something to come on a blog ranting about with an ad hominem diatribe that could be seen as more of a defense than efforts to promote a genuine cleaner difference.

Stopping the dirty fossil fuel insanity is where we would agree. Where we would disagree is on the means, methods and likely final strategic sustainable energy initiative that will deliver on the promise energy independence.

Perry wants to abolish three departments of government; no particular reason, any three will do, just his version of a smaller government. Cain wants to tax wage-earners at the same rate as Big Business CEOs and derivatives traders. Gingrich has moments of intelligence, but a long history of petulance and deceit that makes him unsuitable for public office. Bachmann is nutty as a fruitcake. Romney will tell you what you want to hear, which is drivel.

There’s a real nation out here, and it’s hurting. How about tackling some real issues: a failed economy that cannot provide jobs for 20% of the working age population; 30 million or so poor, ignorant, unneeded, hopeless people; 2 million working age people living miserably in prison at great public expense; money damned up at the top instead of circulating; a runaway military arming for a Cold War that no longer exists; a federal government sabotaged by the same politicians who are obstructing the cleanup efforts.

@DeborahinAthens– That’s telling the truth. There’s a lot more that could be said. The problem is that no one on this blog is open minded enough to acknowledge the ideas or thoughts of someone who doesn’t buy the “party line” in toto. None of these people are focused on ideas, only the people or personalities. It just escalates the polarization that has dragged our government into the total dysfunctionality.
Try putting some ideas out for discussion, examination and analysis. For instance DeborahinAthens offers a perfect foundation for regulation and ethics discussion. Regulation is necessary to protect the people citizens (not the corporate citizens) from the predations and deprivations of the large corporates and multinationals. Cost benefit analysis should be done to insure against over regulation (any regulation is not over-regulation!). The corporations and multinationals should not be left to police themselves or their industries. That has never worked out to protect the ordinary citizens, whether it be professionals, small or large business entities. Anyone care to comment on these ideas?

Gingrich does have a lot of pinkos in his closet but he isn’t afraid to tee one up and blast them, especially some whiny lib debate moderator. While it is highly entertaining, it is not something that should make him stand out. liberals are feeble, lame and deserve to be ridiculed, all of these Republicans should be mocking the likes of Karen Tumulty, if they weren’t so skeered or squishy (see Romney.)

Cain is the one who stands the best chance, by far. I would really love to see iman obozo bring up Chinese nukes after he’s given the entire Middle East and all of it’s oil resources to al Qaida, Let sheik barakkk giggle at Herman about 9-9-9 after he’s put 9-9-9-0-0-0-0-0-0 people on food stamps. Let Teleprompter Barry tell Cain he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

And without the race card, emperor obozo has no clothes.

So don’t get behind Cain, pass up your chance to severely damage the lib smear factory, don’t take this once in a lifetime opportunity to forever destroy the goony lib myth of Republican bigotry, no, let’s trot out another squish like McBushie and let the libs complete their destruction of America.

Yeah, you are mostly wrong. Regulations should have to stand up to a cost benefit analysis. Regulations should be voted on by the congress before they can be enacted.

I don’t think you understand the subject of regulations based on the content of your comment. Where do these regulators come from that write these regulations? Would it surprise you know that many of them were former employees of these corporations and multinationals in your complaint?

Furthermore , as a result, you will probably fine that regulations too often are actually carve-out favors done for the protection of corporation interest by politicians in return for election support.

Only a very few regulations are needed.

Even though some of my Democratic friends can’t stand Obama and say they will vote Republican in 2012. If Obama is elected for a second term, everything will stay the same until 2016; high unemployment, high number of people on food stamps, etc. We must keep the Republicans in control of the House and possibly the Senate to curtail any socialist program(s) Obama will try to pass in the future.

Either Mr. Cain or Mr. Speaker would be VASTLY better than Mr. Romney.
The arguments for Romney in 2012 are almost exactly those used for McCain in 2008 and they originate from the same source (Republican establishment operatives and pundits and Democrats) and they will produce the same results – the election of Barack Obama.
Romney’s agreement with “global warming” leftists; his one-time approval of homosexual marriage, abortion, healthcare mandates, government regulations and taxation will keep at least 20% of the Republican base from voting for Romney.
The other Republican candidates are flawed but I rather see any of them (except Huntsman) get the nomination than Romney.
If conservatives let the MSM, Republican establishment and media pundits select their candidate, Obama WILL be re-elected.

I’m beginning to think it may be possible that the Republican convention will be an open one with no clear certainty at the outset as to who the nominee will be. If so, it will be very interesting to see all the posturing, positioning, maneuvering and back room deals that will surely be happening. If the nomination is up for grabs at the start of the convention, look for a knock down drag out fight for power.

Three weeks ago, Rasmussen’s poll of likely voters showed Speaker Newt Gingrich trailing President Barack Obama by a whopping 27 percentage points (51 to 24 percent) among independent voters. Now, Rasmussen shows, Obama’s lead over Gingrich has shrunk to just 6 points (41 to 35 percent) among independents. Obama also leads Gingrich by 6 points (44 to 38 percent) among all likely voters.

The majority of voters aren’t watching the primary debates. It’s the one on one (general)…Gingrich vs Obama debate that’ll clinch the deal.

You know, hearing that Newt has “too much baggage” is really getting old. I’m tired of hearing about his divorces, as if his poor judgment in choosing wives has anything to do with his proven intelligence, experience and knowledge. I’m sure every one of you has your own “baggage,” and yet all you can say against Newt is that he divorced two wives. O-blah-blah had a history of radical associations, long attendance at a racist, anti-America church, drug use, and proven socialist philosophy, but it didn’t matter, did it? Why? Because he was black. Not because he did anything extraordinary in his life, and not because he had any proven experience in managing anything. I hate to say this, but Hillary would have been a much better president. Obama looks down his nose at you while he speaks condescendingly at the audience. He really does think he’s smarter than you, and for those of you who voted for him, he was right. I sure don’t want four more years of skyrocketing debt, millions more on government handouts, and an actual unemployment rate approaching 20%. Forget talking about Newt’s love life and Herman’s alleged sexual harassment. Either of them would be 100 times better than the bum who lives in the White House right now.

Cain must squash past allegations of sexual harassment and, more important, show he has answers besides 9-9-9: In Wednesday’s debate, he went to that well a few times too many.

Squash them? Really? Why not “come to terms with them” or “seriously address them” instead?

His identity rests on being perceived as not a standard politician, yet when that means stonewalling in the face of accusations of misdeeds and using attorneys to bully possible additional victims from coming forward, one has to wonder what we gain from all these “non-traditional politicians”.

By the way, doesn’t it suggest a certain crisis in the political order when the best way for a politician to get a hearing is to present themselves as an atypical politician, as a non-politician?

How about instead of a pseudo-non-politician (and that includes the pseudo-non-partisan / post-partisan Barack Obama) we start learning to look for genuine politicians, people willing to put their neck on the line in the name of a universal, as opposed to particular, truth.

I will support Newt despite his moral lapses simply because, in case you haven’t heard, “its all about the economy stupid”. The funniest line in the piece: “a more — how to put it? — ideologically consistent candidate could beat the rigidly liberal Obama.” This would be which Obama? One the American public has heard of? The writer can’t be addressing the one who continued to bail out the greedy of Wall St. Not the one who sent in the Seals to kill bin Laden. Or the one who is going to get more money for his campaign from the financial industry than any other candidate. Maybe it’s the one who has been annoyingly wishy-washy in dealing with conservatives in the Congress. That Obama is hardly describable as liberal and anything but rigid, unless rigidly caving to the opposition is a new definition of “rigid”. Is this someone named Sherman Obama or Fiannula Obama we’re talking about, who is running for president this cycle? There are so many candidates to keep track of. So, in 2008 the people voted for and elected a man who promised change. Well got it and now we are trying to survive it. Let’s not do the same thing over again.

But, back to the subject. Newt was a history professor, and is still a history student. Reasonable people know that in order to achieve future success we must have in depth knowledge of our past, thereby guarding against making the same mistakes again and again. That does not guarantee total success in the future, but it does keeping us from making the same stupid mistake was made in 2008.

Transcript
“Nightly Business Report”–PBS

TOM HUDSON: As oil prices move close to $100 per barrel, it will still be several more years before energy from Canadian oil sands will be piped into the United States. The State Department this week delayed construction of the Keystone X-L pipeline as it reviews its route through an environmentally sensitive area in Nebraska. Andrew Schneider reports tonight from our bureau at Houston PBS.

ANDREW SCHNEIDER, HOUSTON, TX: The proposed Keystone X-L pipeline would be used to transport crude oil 1700 miles from Canada`s Alberta tar sands across six states to the gulf coast of Texas. At peak capacity the pipeline would transport more than 800,000 barrels per day. TransCanada, the pipeline`s builder, estimates the construction of the pipeline alone would create more than 20,000 manufacturing and construction jobs and inject $20 billion in new spending into the U.S. economy.

According to a source, Syrian President Bashar al Assad has instructed the Republican Guard to take necessary measures to “finish off” the uprising in Homs by the end of next week. Republican Guard commanders have also been instructed to spare the Al Nuzha and al Zahra sections of Homs from shelling, as these areas are populated predominantly by Alawites.

As an observer rather than partisan, I find the current slate of Republican candidates interesting to watch. Enough has been said about Mitt Romney’s flip-flopping, which is quite extraordinary. From the general view of welfare of the country, if the disaster happened and Obama was not elected, Romney would be one of the three least damaging candidates (Romney, Gingrich and Huntsman) because of his total lack of principles.

The fall from grace of Rick Perry is another extraordinary occurrence, because he seemed to fit so well in the mood of the more extreme and influential parts of the Republican electorate. By the same token, he would hardly have a chance in general elections. The same might be said about Herman Cain, who seems to appeal mainly to those who prefer slogans to thoughts and consider ignorance a plus.

Rick Santorum is so much out of mainstream on social issues that he is hardly worth mentioning. Even less is Michele Bachmann, who has become more of a joke than a serious challenge. John Huntsman is clearly one of the three most capable of the bunch, but apparently he had made a conscious decision to give appearance of adhering to extreme positions on some issues while keeping common sense on others; it has not worked.

There is some fascinating, albeit superficial similarity between Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich. Paul has some views regarding the foreign policy that are attractive even to liberals, while having such outlandish positions on other issues that one must wonder if he is able to distinguish between reality and fantasy. Gingrich is also fascinating because of his contradictions, but on a different sphere. It is amazing how a clearly educated and experienced person can make so many completely false and stupid statements. That may not harm him too much when a constant stream of lies and demagoguery has desensitized the electorate, but his moral failings may sink him.

Anyone want to bet how long the Gingriches will stay together if Newt does not get the nomination? I think he has met his match on gold-digging. Newt isn’t half as smart as he thinks, and he has no morals. It is okay to divorce, but his modus operandi is completely smarmy.

Herman Cain is at the other end of the intelligence spectrum. It would be another “absentee President,” as Reagan was at the end.

Romney isn’t trusted by anyone.

It would help the country if the Republicans could search high and low and find a thoughtful, moral person to run–one who can think for himself, and honestly debate policy.

Charles Krauthammer’s piece in today’s AJC states the Republican whirlwind of Nov 2010 has subsided to a strong wind (my words, not his) and that we will have to work to defeat Obama. For sure nothing is sure in politicis, but I suggest there are certain failures voters should not forgive and Obama has several. To list a few….

Putting auto worker unions ahead of secured bond holders in the auto industry bailouts.

Putting political supporter investors ahead of the American tax payers in the Solyndra bankruptcty.

Spending more than a year pushing Obamacare through congress when he should have been working on the economy. A wasted year on a law rejected by more than a majority of Americans.

Using stimulus funds as little more than a political slush fund to repay his supporters.

Basically doing everything possible to keep energy prices high such as delaying issue of oil drilling permits, etc.

And the latest, delaying the new oil pipeline which would provide jobs and drive down energy prices. The delay of course means he has bowed to his tree hugger supporters.

Will America be stupid again by keeping a man in the oval office that does not have a clue that his ideology is wrong for America? I don’t know, but I sure hope not.

4200 New Regulations in Obama Pipeline- so far

Cass Sunstein, the Regulation Czar, says the regulation relief he announced yesterday will save business $10 billion over five years. But, the latest analysis by the Small Business Administration (SBA) calculates that compliance with federal regulation costs a staggering $1.75 trillion annually – and, that is a 2008 pre-Obama Administration estimate.

That does not include the 75 new major rules generated by Obama in just his first 26 months at an additional burden of $40 billion according to a study by the Heritage Foundation.

Worse, still to come are the impending clean air rules from the EPA, new derivative rules, net neutrality rules, the new CAFE fuel mandates, and the avalanche of rules mandated by ObamaCare and the Dodd-Frank legislation.

The government admits there are 4200 new rules or revisions already in the pipeline.

Sunstein’s announcement is like finding a man drowning under Niagara Falls and “saving” him by removing a cup of water. It is further evidence of the complete detachment from reality by this Administration, and an insult to the intelligence of working people and employers alike to pretend that this is the sum total of outdated, duplicitous, needless regulation that in Obama’s own words, “stifles job creation.”

Twenty-eight percent of Republicans backed the former Massachusetts governor, giving him a lead of 8 percentage points over his nearest challenger Herman Cain in the poll, taken November 10-11.

Romney was 5 percentage points ahead in a survey November 7-8.

Court: School can ban American flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo
By Valerie Strauss
A federal court judge ruled that officials at a California high school had a legal right to send home students wearing shirts showing the American flag on Cinco de Mayo because there was a reasonable fear that the images could lead to violence.

Chief U.S. District Judge James Ware of San Francisco ruled last week that it was not a violation of the freedom of speech for students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill to be ordered to turn their shirts with the American flag inside out or go home on May 5, 2010, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Two students were sent home.

Ware cited past clashes between Mexican-American and Anglo students over clothing on the holiday, which is a celebration of Mexican heritage and in Mexico commemorates a Mexican army victory over the French in 1862. (It is not Mexican Independence Day.)

Students wearing the shirts had sued the Morgan Hill Unified School District on the grounds that their right to free expression had been violated as well as on discrimination because students wearing Mexican flag colors were not censored. Ware rejected both issues………………

Seriously!!??!!

Schumer said most states limit credit card interest at 16 to 35 percent, but layaway plans can end up costing more in borrowing costs for consumers who often have a lot of credit card debt.

“These layaway programs are nothing more than hideaways for sky-high interest rates that consumers would never tolerate with a credit card,” Schumer said. “The holiday season is supposed to be about giving and not taking, but these layaway programs are taking advantage of people and charging them outrageous interest rates, under the guise of making it easier and more affordable to shop.”

Newt is a joke. No way he will EVER win the election. Arrogant hypocrite . Cain is even more arrogant; a mean spirited , self absorbed moron who doe not have ANY chance of winning the WH. The silent majority will decide this race, not the 8 idiots that were on TV last night. CSI was better TV anyway.

It’s not our role to try to help or hurt any candidate. We take seriously the job of helping voters make their own decisions. We’ll continue to look for compelling stories about Herman Cain, so you can decide for yourself if he deserves your vote. -Urinal

My Lord, does it get any more ridiculous?

The problem is that when the Democrats say something on this blog that the Republicans/Tea Party do not agree with the Republicans/Tea Party start to berate them instead of saying something of substance.

For Example these bloggers ( I Report (You Whine), Lil Barry Bailout, Ross Perot and others) find it amusing to berate others on this blog. They have nothing of substance to contribute but racism and hatred.

Still feeling all pious and picked on. Still stuck on hatred, huh? Naww, I got over that a long time ago. I realized that liberals hearts were in the right place but they didn’t have the mind to go with it.

If they did, they would not enjoy huge debt, high taxes and big lies. But other than that, they do like to give other people’s money to those without it.

I just don’t think that is practical. In fact, lotsa people have noticed that we are in debt.. Haven’t you heard?

Welcome to the Occupation: Germany has done well during this crisis — vastly better than the US
———————

Germans are, on average, smarter than Americans. And they don’t mind working for a living. The US is saddled with a huge parasite class that games the system to avoid having to take a job, and produces millions of illegitimate future drug dealers and gang bangers, while their brood mares get checks from the government.

If Newt is the nominee he will be fine. All it will take is some debates with this president that all the anti-Americans love and he will show him up and the independents that are not sure will see. Most of them already see their businesses and investments going down the tubes and are not lining up behind him as it is. The media is never going to let you think that any GOP stands a chance. I remember in the Governors race here they were saying at best it would be a run off between Deal and Roy Barnes and Deal beat that guy by 55 to 45.

“Republicans cannot excuse the immoral lapses of people like Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain ”

WHAT “immoral laspses” of “people like . . . Herman Cain”? When there is some evidence, THEN you have room to speak. Until then, wise you mind the Golden Rule. It is within your LEGAL right to cast these dispersions on a public figure, but in doing so you are speaking more about yourself than others.

Obozo, on international companies wanting to establish a presence in the U.S.: “We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades. Little Barry Bailout: “Everyone knows it’s our high taxes, stifling regulations, and (of late) your business-bashing and criminalization of profit.”

Taxes are already terribly low. I wouldn’t mind lowering them. If we attack the very concept of concentrated wealth and redistribute it.

Stifling regulations? Really? Like the ones that obviously were so stifling they allowed one of our rapacious mega-corporations to blow a giant hole in the Gulf of Mexico? Regs are already phenomenally low. Corporate sponsored lobbyists practically write them themselves. I’d be fine with doing away with most of them — if we abolish the rapacious profit system first.

Business bashing? Who needs business bashing when business does its own bashing, coming within a hair of burning down the world economy?

Free enterprise was buried in a shallow grave in ‘08 for good when its errand boy Paulson was on his knees practically pi$$ing himself as he begged members of Congress to save him from the disaster his banker buddies had wrought. That was the death knell for your beloved free enterprise as religion.

I’ve seen the light, WTTO. Businesses aren’t locating in the US, and existing businesses are leaving, because they’re in search of higher taxes, more regulation, and the privilege of putting their capital at risk only to have a big-eared fascist nationalize it. How did I miss that?

Wingfield joins with the rest of the MSM including the leftist rag Politico in trying to eliminate Herman Cain from the race. It’s mostly because of his plan to eliminate the Marxist income tax system that brings the resistance from the Democrats and establishment Republicans (they both game the present system to benefit their friends and donors) but how ridiculous can they get? Look at these headlines appearing on the same “home page” at the leftist rag:
Battleground (GOP): Cain 27, Romney 25, Gingrich 14, Perry 14, Paul 5
Politico: Cain’s Support Plummets

Because lord knows he’s been nationalizing industries right and left. What with Wall St facing its worst crisis in nearly a century, he not only props it up, he’s the enabler while banks return to soaring profitability under his Treasury department. Health care? His health care plan — a product of the right wing Heritage Foundation — sets up a veritable gravy train for the health insurance execs as far into the future as they eye can see? Guaranteed customer base for the next century, anyone? Nice work if you can get it. Yeah, he’s a nationalizer all right.
