I’ve been working on something that probably won’t materialize today…so, to tide y’all over:
September 17th, 20103:30 pm
If companies don’t hire, taxes will rise to pay for the unemployed.
September 17th, 20103:38 pm
The greatest devastation of American capitalism since the Great Depression and you feign shock at the fallout, Mr. Wingfield?
A 40 year onslaught and in a mere year or two, everything is gonna be okie dokie again?
I have real bad news for ya. Republican, Democrat, whoever, this one is gonna burn American families for a long, long time.
Why? Because the culprits – the banksters, casino capitalists and legalized thieves – will never face justice nor will the fundamental reasons underlying the attempted corporate destruction of capitalism be addressed in any significant way.
That would take a modicum of moral courage that Tom Price, Mitch McConnell, Harry Reid and Barack Obama are utterly lacking…
September 17th, 20104:05 pm
Funny. The Keynesians did not learn from the Roosevelt experience, and they did not learn from the Carter experience. No sign yet that they are learning from the Chauncey experience.
September 17th, 20104:09 pm
For once, I agree with you. I guess hell officially froze over.
September 17th, 20104:14 pm
“…the attempted corporate destruction of capitalism be addressed…
Oh it’s being addressed. The folks in charge are hastening it every day.
September 17th, 20104:24 pm
Kyle – when are you going to point out your candidate for governor in GA is a worthless piece of junk? I guess puns intended.
The guys a crook, he’s being investigated, he’s broke, he’s in debt, he can’t manage his personal finances much less a $20 billion state budget.
If Republicans are for fiscal responsibility – as I am – then why the hell would they vote for a guy like Deal?
I’d vote for a Republican any day of the week these days if he was half decent, reasonably intelligent, and wanted to do a good job. This guy is not the guy. When are you turkeys going to find a Mitch Daniels, Arnold S., or someone of that ilk for us in GA????
September 17th, 20104:29 pm
The Republican party is an embarrassment to this nation and to real conservatives.
September 17th, 20104:36 pm
I don’t care what the label is, I would like to see an honest politician with the interests of the majority of the producing American public in mind. There are those of us who work hard, pay our taxes, never have taken “disability” or child care payments, WIC, or the like, who are treated like dirt because we are the “wealthy”. That is so much bull. But, why do we denigrate the producers and laud those who sit on their butts and grow fat on the taxpayer’s dime? I don’t understand that. There was a time when those who did not work, did not eat. I am all for that returning.
September 17th, 20105:03 pm
How about it Kyle? You supporting your DC insider, corrupt, broke, financially incompetent candidate for governor?
You’re a pretty well reasoned kind of guy. Having any doubts?….
September 17th, 20105:13 pm
“When are you turkeys going to find a Mitch Daniels, Arnold S., or someone of that ilk for us in GA????”
We did. She was outvoted by neo-cons.
September 17th, 20105:14 pm
“The Republican party is an embarrassment to this nation and to real conservatives.”
September 17th, 20105:18 pm
CAIR Bears – you think Handel measures up to Arnold or Mitch? A woman without a college degree? Are you kidding me?
You may be surprised the state of Georgia has a
program that allows companys to use people as
interns while receiving unemployment for 6 weeks.
The intern gets an additional $100 per month for
transportation. At the end of the 6 weeks if both
agree the company may hire the intern. If not the
unemployment continues unaffected. Around
half have been hired.
September 17th, 20105:20 pm
“you think Handel measures up to Arnold or Mitch? ”
Arnold?????? You think he’s great? She is a conservative who did her job well and has isn’t in financial trouble.
“A woman without a college degree?”
There are plenty of people with college degrees that are sitting in prison right now. I’d rather have a person who can do the job well than to have some moron with a degree who ends up bankrupting us.
See B. Hussein Obama
September 17th, 20105:26 pm
CAIR Bears – who would know if she did her job well? She only held each of her political jobs for 2 years at a time.
Hell yes I think Arnold is a great governor. He’s really actually trying to shrink the CA budget. Handel was clean (yeah), but nowhere close to what I would call a great candidate.
If Handel is the best the R’s in GA can do, they you’re sunk. She ranks about a “3″ on a quality candidate scale.
CB – you’re a complete idiot and a disgrace to the R party. You’re ignorance is a display of the neanderthal wing of the R party. You’re math is so bad, apparently you’re not aware that statistically most people are in prison don’t have a college degree. Apparently you think getting a college degree makes a person dumber. I’m sorry, I don’t like to make insults, but you really are retarded.
September 17th, 20105:29 pm
CAIR Bears – by your logic, we should probably put 5 year olds without any schooling in charge of our government.
Kyle, you see what kind of morons your party has to deal with? You guys need to learn to educate your voter base a little…. hell, at least get them into community college. At minimum, you should try to get your candidates some kind of education so they can actually add numbers when it comes to managing the state budget. God forbid they actually get the chance to manage the budget….
At least Sonny and Sarah Palin went to college.
September 17th, 20105:31 pm
“who would know if she did her job well? She only held each of her political jobs for 2 years at a time.”
Because if anyone had dirt on her it would have shown up by now.
“Hell yes I think Arnold is a great governor. He’s really actually trying to shrink the CA budget.”
CA is going bankrupt and he’s part of it.
“Handel was clean (yeah), but nowhere close to what I would call a great candidate.’
Coming from a person who thinks Ahnold is great.
“by your logic, we should probably put 5 year olds without any schooling in charge of our government.”
Because the current crop of children are doing better?
September 17th, 20105:32 pm
“At least Sonny and Sarah Palin went to college.”
What the hell does Palin have to do with GA? Geez, you left wingers are so freaking deranged when it comes to one woman.
September 17th, 20105:37 pm
Cair Bears –
“Because the current crop of children are doing better?” Go complain to your Republican governor, not me about that.
The Republican Party in GA survives out ideological loyalty. When you guys can’t nominate a decent candidate for governor, you know the party’s swirling the toilet.
We’ll see how much Deal raises by the end of the next reporting period. My guess: not much.
CAIR Bears – most folks think I’m a conservative. So I’ll take your accusation that I’m a left winger as a compliment, as it probably means I’m a moderate.
September 17th, 20105:42 pm
CAIR Bears – perhaps you’re not aware Palin was Gov of Alaska. Meaning its germane to the conversation. Meaning even Alaska with a miniscule population found a way to nominate a governor with a college education….
But you seem to think Handel would have been just fine. Congrats, to quote Spencer Tracy’s character in “Inherit the wind”:
“Fanaticism and ignorance is forever busy, and needs feeding. Soon we’ll be marching backward to the 16th century, where bigots burned the man who dared bring enlightenment and intelligence to the human mind. Hooligans of the world, unite! You have nothing to burn but your intellectuals. You’ll be setting man against man, creed against creed, ad nauseum. Darwin was wrong. Man is still an ape, his creed still a totem pole.”
September 17th, 20105:43 pm
“as it probably means I’m a moderate.”
There’s no such thing as a moderate.
September 17th, 20105:45 pm
“perhaps you’re not aware Palin was Gov of Alaska. Meaning its germane to the conversation. Meaning even Alaska with a miniscule population found a way to nominate a governor with a college education….”
Interesting, most left wingers painted her as a total idiot. By the way, there are plenty of college educated governors who have been impeached or are in jail.
A college degree does not equal competence. D’s get degrees.
“But you seem to think Handel would have been just fine. Congrats, to quote Spencer Tracy’s character in “Inherit the wind”:”
She’s a conservative without a corrupt background. You can quote actors all you want.
September 17th, 20105:53 pm
CAIR Bears – you’re right, I do think Palin is an idiot. I’m highlighting – as dumb as Palin is, even she was able to get a college degree.
You’re right, education does not necessarily equate to intelligence. But again your math stinks. Lack of education definitely equates to stupidity.
Well cheerio, your last lineat 5:45 was an excellent, well reasoned, and sound retort. And your 5:43 post is equally well reasoned.
September 17th, 20105:54 pm
CAIR Bears should be exhibit A for why the Republicans don’t deserve power. Thank god all Republicans aren’t as clueless as CB…. I must say, its just shocking.
CAIR Bears, where did you go to school? I have to make sure never to send my kids there….
September 17th, 20106:04 pm
“you’re right, I do think Palin is an idiot. I’m highlighting – as dumb as Palin is, even she was able to get a college degree.”
I doubt she cares what a little person like you thinks.
“But again your math stinks”
“Lack of education definitely equates to stupidity.”
You are living proof of that.
September 17th, 20106:06 pm
“CAIR Bears should be exhibit A for why the Republicans don’t deserve power. Thank god all Republicans aren’t as clueless as CB…. I must say, its just shocking.”
You must be under the false impression that I care what you think, ma’am.
“CAIR Bears, where did you go to school? ”
Somewhere much better than you.
“I have to make sure never to send my kids there….”
I’m shocked that you were actually able to breed.
September 17th, 20106:15 pm
I went into 2009 thinking…O.K., it’s Obama…seems smart enough, and then nothing. Who advised him on his advisers? Either he was lacking good judgment, OR he picked a bunch of losers.
I’ve never wanted to believe he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing…a statist in pursuit of power for the state.
So it’s one or the other. He’s incompetent or a statist. Neither serves our Republic well.
September 17th, 20106:16 pm
September 17th, 20106:29 pm
Get ready for the rematch.
Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who lost in a stunning upset to Tea Party-backed Joe Miller in the Republican Senate primary last month, is planning to pursue a write-in candidacy for the general election in November, a Murkowski ally told Fox News.
I’m embarrassed for Senator Murkowski. It’s almost as though they equate political defeat to death.
Geez! Most Americans make a living outside politics…why can’t they?
