This is a remarkable slide show depicting the growth of unemployment in the U.S. in just two and a half years. In January 2007, before the credit and financial crises and the subsequent recession, the counties in purple or black — representing unemployment of 7 percent or more — were restricted to a handful of states.
Move forward to September of this year, and the whole map looks bruised.
I don’t intend this as a “blame Obama” post. The recession and the rise in unemployment started before he took office. But even “Saturday Night Live” understands that what the administration has been trying so far — namely, spending more money and piling up even more debt that will have to be repaid — isn’t working.

That’s correct Linda……you don’t increase the Minimum wage to poor folks…….
Bush didn’t do it for almost his entire 8 years……yet each year the Congress, and House got raises…….and they were not the pennies the minimum wage went up either !
Each year of the Bush administration, the IRS told us the Poor got Poorer, the Rich got Richer, and the Middle class got smaller.
Keep Poor People Poor Please !
Heck there are WARS to MAKE UP !

yet each year the Congress, and House got raises
And it’s my understanding that those raises are automatic annual raises; they don’t even have to vote on them anymore.

Hey David Axelfraud…..Great BS……Bottom Line: Clinton did nothing to help prevent 911…….
Clinton told Little Bush all about Bin Ladden, but Little Bush was too busy allowing the Bilking of California, and saying we were in an energy crises, to bother.
Plus Little Bush needed a WAR…….He and Cheney had too much money to earn for their respective families….WAR was very Important to not have happen !

- Under Clinton, concerning the four times we were
attacked, only one attack (the first World Trade bombing)
was on U.S. soil. Six people died. The others (the Khobar
Towers Bombing, The USS Cole Bombing, and the African
Bombings in Kenya (U.S. Embassy) and Dar-es-Salaam,
Tanzania) were overseas – where security was breached at
a distance. Osama was a new threat – we were containing
Saddam at the time using no-fly zoning on and around
the 36th parallel. I do not make a career out of bashing
Bush43, and UNTIL you walk a mile in the shoes of the
POTUS, you should pause and reflect on absolute
judgement about the person the voters hired to do the job.

dewstarpath, I don’t make a career out of Clinton. Just like to point out to people that he was a huge cause in the build up to 911. No one will argue that taking out Saddam was a bad thing. Every single democrat who signed on to the war said the same thing.

Peter @ 3:18, Raising the min. wage is great when times are good. Raising it during the worst recession in decades was stupid. It affects the lowest paid workers, the “poor” & our youth. There are millions of Americans who would work for the old min. wage if they could just find a JOB. Businesses were already operating in the red. Raising their expenses caused more job loses. The poor became unemployed. It was not in their best interests.

Kyle is a little testy today because his reason for existence, newspapers, are in much worse shape than thought. Turns out the few papers that have increasing circulation, thus giving hope to losers like the ajc, are actually double counting some subscriptions. Kyle’s old rag, the wsj, under that crooked clown from down under, was actually counting both the print and the internet subscription to the same person as two separate subscriptions. This matters to advertisers who pay for ads based on the number of subscribers. Old Rube was giving away the internet subscription if one purchased a print subscription not long ago, I know because I was a subscriber then and got both dirt cheap. But I sure did not read the paper or look at the ads twice, once on paper, and once on screen. If you really disagree with Kyle, just cancel your print subscription, it will hurt Kyle and the Urinal more that way.
