At least we won’t have any Grantham-on-the-hot-seat talk next season!

Todd Grantham is on his way to Louisville. (AJC file)

Todd Grantham is on his way to Louisville. (AJC file)

You’ve probably seen that UGA has confirmed reports that Todd Grantham is leaving to take the defensive coordinator’s job under Bobby Petrino at Louisville. The words “getting while the getting’s good” immediately come to mind.

Lots of speculation on possible replacements, with former Texas DC Manny Diaz mentioned by a lot of folks. I just hope the search doesn’t drag out like it did when Grantham was hired. With signing day for recruits less than a month away, having someone already on board would be a big plus.

And at least other schools won’t be able to continue telling recruits, “Well, you know Grantham’s likely to be gone next year anyway.”

So, feel free to celebrate, vent, speculate, whatever …

Richt MO is to be a hero ( he may feel he’s on the bubble also) and he will give Coach Chris Wilson a once in a life time opportunity. Watch. And He might be Ok, But Richt’s is easy…and not to hire someone on staff who the fans would holler for to take the head job. Richt will settle and think the hire is not that important, because he was mad about being told to fire Martinez. Until Richt is gone, it really doesn’t matter who he hires. It won’t be boot shaking. 8-4 in 14. Sorry I feel that way. I live in realville.

I think Chris Wilson will be promoted. Richt will try to bring in a few good coordinators but they will want to bring in their guys. Richt want let the current staff be unemployed. Remember continuity is a good thing for Georgia.

Winners go find the best their is, employed or not. They hire them. They won’t let them say no. Richt will place an ad in the paper for all the unemployed DC’s. Again, winners go GET their man. Won’t see that out of Athens. Football just not that important anymore over there.

This is the chance to clean house on defense and bring in a big name that will pick their own assistants – and potentially sway some good defensive recruits before signing. This is the chance to make a game changing event to convert the team into a contender. The offense is fine. Make the right decision in this hire, and it could change things for years to come.

This is a NO brainer – N A R D U Z Z I should be the next DC at UGA.

Some say he won’t leave Michigan State for less than a HC job but that is not what he said in his recent interview. He said ” I am happy here but I am willing to listen to a better opportunity.” UGA is a better opportunity.

Narduzzi interviewed for Louisville HC job four days ago but Petrino was rehired for the position. That shows he has a willingness to leave on short notice.

That Grantham is unloyal to Dawgs then god riddances. We need DC that committed to Dawgs like Erk was to make Junkyard D. Then we have team that smash mouths and shut down sorry offenses like that Lame Kitten clown at Bammer. Best team D comes from loading talents and attacks all the time. Then that blows up offenses like Awful Burn by putting Marshall on his tail. Dawgs need new DC that make players play hard and unloading on bad teams.

I’d like to see Smart come in, but I’m not sure we can make that happen.

Wish Grantham the best, he did his best here. It wasn’t good enough, but he did his best. I guess when they go out and hire a new DC, the question has to be “why not the best”? Go out and get the best available and bring him here. It is ironic that the DC and SC are both gone within 3 days of the appraisal by AD. I guess you have to hope that CTG learns to ride a motorcycle. He should flourish in the ACC, and at Louisville. Now they just need to have a fishing license to get into school.

Kriby Smart make $1.3 mil per year. DOUBLE Narduzzi’s salary and put in a $2 mil buy out clause to keep him around for a while. He should jump at it.

So Lakatos and Grantham are gone. This is a positive for GA in many ways. However, I think this is Richts biggest coaching decision of his career. When Vangorder left he promoted his best friend and college roommate Willy Marrinez. That decision in itself should indicate that Richt’s instincts and “process” for hiring assistants is wrong and deeply flawed. With Willy and Grantham at the helm we have seen a huge drop off and haven’t recovered. So here we are. Richt is solely responsible for where we’ve been and where we will go next. Pay attention fans. This hire will tell you all you need to know about where Richt’s head is, his ability to elevate this program, and turn the tide back toward being a true national championship contender.

I don’t know who the “right” guy is but he damn well better be the “right” guy or Richt won’t get another chance. This is it for him.

BankerDawg – “When Vangorder left he promoted his best friend and college roommate Willy Marrinez. That decision in itself should indicate that Richt’s instincts and “process” for hiring assistants is wrong and deeply flawed.” Then how in the world did he hire Van Gorder in the first place? BVG was a damned good DC for us. Seems like Richt got that one right didn’t he?

Ever wonder if he just thought that Martinez was actually ready for the job? It’s nearly impossible to tell until somebody is actually doing the job. Has anybody ever given any thought to the fact that perhaps the real problem was Damn Evans might have been too tight with the purse strings and Richt knew he couldn’t get any one else without being able to pay them?

We got turned down by Smart, Foster and Chavis…all because they got raises to stay put. It was only after those fell through for obvious low ball bids that he hired Grantham for more than what they had been offering those 3.

We’ll see what happens in the following days.

DawgInColorado: It’s hard for be to fathom that the reason Richt promoted Willy was because Damon Evans (former GA player) was too right with the purse strings. I guess it could have happened that way, but I don’t think it’s likely. My contention has always been that Richt was trying to build his legacy in the mold of Bowden, but doing it with his friends and family around. Martinez was proven yet. I think that is poor decision making. The same principle can be applied to the Bobo promotion. Bobo has gotten better over the years but to me, he still lacks the skill set necessary to coach in the SEC.

I think having to fire Willy was the end of Richt. I truly believe he harbors resentment over that or guilt for the whole situation. Couple that with his wife having medical issues here and there and his priorities have shifted. I’m not saying that is a bad thing for him personally, but it hasn’t bode well for UGA football. 3MM a year demands that you give it your best. I don’t think we have gotten Richts best since 2005. If we have, it’s not good enough.

Richt is totally dependent on the DC to take care of that side of the ball. He is clueless about everything but offense. I’m still amazed that a HC, DC, and the entire defensive staff can call a timeout, huddle with their defense, and not mention to KNOCK THE BALL DOWN, on 4th and freaking 18 in the Auburn game. This, after using the excuse of young defenders for the previous 10 GAMES!

What established DC is going to take a job and have no say about his staff other than DB coach? We will be looking at the mid-majors for a replacement. Someone that would come to UGA under any circumstances if he can double his salary.

Ok, so there was an NFL playoff game (NE/Indy)on TV yesterday…guess what…two defensive (not rookie) leaped in the air to defend…could have fought the ball…but because they did not see each other, after the deflection and non-intercept, the ball fell to the turf. Ok,..b/c the way the ball “bounced” the receiver did not catch it.

My point…even million dollar DBs collide into each other…even when one has a seemingly secure interception…and guess what…the ball / blind side intervened. This hire will tell the tale on whether Richt really wants to continue to coach at UGA. Hiring a Manny Diaz because he’s “out of work” will say that Richt only plans to coach in 2014 and retire. I know for an absolute fact that there was a no nonsense meeting between several elite boosters and McGarity before his “Choppy waters” speech. Now I was told that the boosters were NOT going in demanding coaches be fired, but insisted that lingering problems on defense and special teams be fixed, whatever it takes. They held the notion that just as McGarity said in article that “It is Mark’s job to get it fixed”. I have no way of knowing anything about what is going on at Bama, but I have never seen Saban make the mistakes that he is making now. Kiffin will blow up the Bama program just like he has everything else he has ever touched, you can bet on it. Nobody wants anything to do with that P.O.S. He WILL cause unsettled waters, and now word is Ed O. is going there as well. Nobody knows more about Bama than Finebaum, so his sideways endorsement for Smart leaving Bama may have merit. I could see Diaz as an assistant but if Richt hires him as DC, he will more than likely be gone himself after 2014. That said, I have a feeling that the old home place UGA looks pretty good to Smart about now.

CTG could not get it done here. He may at Louisville, who knows? Sometimes, a person/system just is not a fit at a certain place, and CTG and UGA seem to fit that bill. Our guys were lost too much of the time, and although there was the occasional good play there were way too many “twilight-zone” moments, when nobody on the field or at the game knew what was going on with our defense. We need to get back to hard-nosed SEC defense, and we need a system that we can recruit, teach, and play.

Even the gnome St. Nicks’ and his “, go-fer” Kirby Smart, saw their over hyped “D” go down the crapper – giving up 79 points to Aubarn & Okie.

The big problem with Grantham’s “D” after mid season was that they gave up big plays at inopportune times. They held Nebraska to under 300 yards until that awful 99 yard TD blunder that cost them the game.

They held AuBarn down in the 4th until they got the unlucky bounce. Grantham did some good and some bad…. sometimes you have to lay the broken plays at the feet of the players.

I would hire Kirk O. From a coordinator perspective, he is very experienced and knows what it takes to succeed in the NFL. He has a great pedigree, with a Dad who wears a SuperBowl ring as a D-Coordinator with the Giants
From a recruiting perspective, he will hold on to what we currently have. The kids like him, and he has done a great job with the current linebackers – taking above average SEC talent and making them NFL draft picks.
If UGA needs to make the big splash, I would go with Orgeron. He is a rah-rah guy who would do an incredible job of recruiting and is a proven coordinator.

Grantham wasn’t forced out as some have implied. Richt fully expected him back in 2014. He left for two reasons:
#1 His contract was not extended and it runs out in 2015

Narduzzi @ $850,000 per year and a 5 year contract. He will want his own staff but might retain the current LB & DL coaches if they fit in. One thing though, at Michigan State his primary “D” is 4-3 not Grantham’s 3-4. It could be argued that the current UGA roster favors a 4-3 defense. UGA played both 4-3 and 3-4 at times.

Narduzzi would be everyone’s first choice, but it ain’t happening folks. Michigan State just won the Big 10 basically because of their defense. Narduzzi’s stock is sky high right now. I hope I am proved wrong but it’s not likely. We need someone that has ties in to HS football coaches in both Atlanta and S GA. Orgeron has coached in the SEC before and is a great game day coach. Simplfying the D for these young kids is an absolute must.

Big plays cost you games irregardless of when they happen. Had that “lucky” play in the Auburn game occurred in the 1st quarter it would have had the same impact on the scoreboard as it did at the end of the game.

Todd Ghrantham was an absolute JOKE!!!!! one of the worst defensive coordinators I have ever seen, his players dont grow in his system, make the same bonehead mistakes, VERY MEDIOCRE. He makes Willy Martinez look like Kirby Smart!!!! Thank God he is gone, lets go back to the 4-3 Defense, lets get our players to play sound, fast, disciplined football. dawgfan did you watch the UGA /Auburn game this year? We got the ball back with less than a minute left and Aaron Murray still almost moved us down the field and scored…if we had had another 1-2 minutes the game might have had a very different outcome…really you think a go ahead touchdown with a minute or less has the same impact on a game as one in the first quarter does ? If you were anymore dense you’d be Stone Mountain.

May seem like conspiracy theory, but seems like a big coincidence that both Grantham and Lakatos, the two coaches most under fire have left the program voluntarily. I would imagine that Richt told them they would be fired and should seek opportunities elsewhere.

Why would Louisville hire Grantham at $1M per? Seems like they could have gotten a much better coach. They can’t have been that impressed by what he has done at UGA the last two years.

Flo- Ri- Duh

No conspiracy theory – coincidence. Lakatos does have a personal reason for leaving – health. Grantham is a “climber” . Before he even signed his contract with UGA he knew he wouldn’t be there long if a higher paying opportunity came along and he openly admitted as much. Grantham, in his 4 years in Athens, never even bought a house – he rented.

I’m split on this news. I personally liked Grantham: yeah, he may not have been statistically that much better (if any) than Martinez, but his defenses generally excelled at sacks and takeaways, excepting this year.

But still, I can’t say I’m not excited about the possibility of fresh blood.

Smart? Heck no, I think he knows that Saban’s the real mind behind their defense, and he doesn’t want to get exposed. Besides, They got thrashed by A&M, Auburn and Oklahoma this year: not sold on him doing well. He also burned his bridge when we went after him last time.

I may be crazy, but why don’t we go after Van Gorder again? I don’t know what all went on last time to cause him to leave, but couldn’t we throw a buncha money at him to get things cleaned up? Other than him and the Michigan State guy, I’m not sure what other kind of “big names” are available.

I just hope it doesn’t take as long as it did last time. Gotta keep those recruits on board!

Go Dawgs!

Bear Bryant always said the two most important things in football have not changed: blocking and tackling.
They still have not changed; both are just as important. Both areas are our weakest. Remember, folks, while we are (rightfully) glad CTG is gone, our o-line is middle-of-the-pack on a good day. We need to address that situation as well, and it starts with recruiting. We have fallen behind our SEC breatheren in recruiting o-linemen, and it has shown. Nebraska definitely showed us. We put those points on the board this season by fair at best o-line play and extremely good (at times) skill-player play.
We need a fresh start on defense. We need better recruits on the o-line. Per B.Bryant: “Blocking and tackling!” That part ain’t changed, folks!

old dog January 13th, 2014 5:08 pm – I am curious as to why people keep saying that both of our lines are the weak spots on our team. The O-line was not very consistent… that is obvious. But our D-line played very well this year and we had lots of different guys playing. They were the strength of the defense. So why the criticism of the D-line?

The o-line

2012, Georgia gave up 29 sacks, ranking it ninth in the SEC in pass protection.
2011, Georgia gave up 33 sacks, ranking eighth in the SEC and 85th nationally.
2010, Georgia gave up 24 sacks, ranking seventh in the SEC and 62nd nationally.”

Mason was sacked 3 times in the Nebraska game; he was sacked 8 times in the 2 1/2 games he played

The d-line did play better I will say

DawginColorado

January 13th, 2014

I wouldn’t say the O-line is bad. They were inconsistent… how do you go from dominating SC for the final 8 1/2 minutes of the game to getting harried mercilessly by Vandy? And then turn around and do the same thing to UF for the final 8 1/2+ minutes of that game? Our LT has to be shored up and our backs have to attack incoming rushers instead of trying to just get in their way. Lynch whiffed a couple of times too.

DawginColorado

Remember, Richt’s job is on the line. Yes, his future was in doubt when he ended up with Grantham but he did fire Martinez which is what the fan base wanted. The appeasement factor was there and the fact that his first 3 choices all entertained the offers and accepted counter offers to stay put bought some mercy. At the time getting “the NFL guy” was not viewed as bad as it turned out to be. This time somebody has to be reeled in.

I think we Dawg fans know what this hirer and for Richt. I don’t agree with Gutrake’s assumption in one regard, Richt cannot afford to “miss” this time. The interesting dynamic is that this is McGarity’s first go round, he wasn’t here for the Willy debacle. He proclaims he is not involved in coaching decisions. I call BS on that. GA atheletics are his responsibility and as he puts it, “we are in choppy waters”.

Allot of names have been passed around. Smart, Orgeron, Olivardti, Wilson, Narduzzi, etc. I may be naive, but most managers already have a “bench” of people or a short list of replacements if things get sideways. I heard somewhere that UGA has 142M in the coffers. Basically, we can get the best money can buy. I’d love to see Richt’s leadership here. If love to read the Bill King interview where Richt accepts responsibility for the state of the program, vows to turn it around and get back on track, and voluntarily gives up some of his 3MM a year salary to procure the best DC we can get. That’s the type of commitment I want to see. It will never happen, of course I knows that. But something like that would go a long way to restoring “focus” in this program. Richt owns this. This is his chance to prove he can elevate the program and make us a true contender again.

We’re getting slaughtered in recruitng right now. The clock is ticking and time is running out.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Richt will just promote someone already on the staff. It’s the “safe” pick and, most importantly, he won’t have to do too much work. When predicting a Mark Richt move that’s the #1 thing you always have to keep in mind. If it will require him to get up off his azz and work he probably won’t do it.

We’ll get a bunch of crap about how the new DC already knows the system, the players love him, he’s a great family man, yadda, yadda, yadda. You know, the usual Mark Richt fare.

I think it’ll be about the same. It doesn’t matter who our DC is really. Richt doesn’t expect the best out of anyone so we don’t get the best. There’s a reason all those guys turned us down last time. They don’t want to get dragged down into the culture of mediocrity that Richt has created. The best want to work with the best. Someone once asked Kirby Smart if Saban is demanding. His response: “He expects us to do our job. If that’s demanding then I guess he’s demanding.”

The best assistant coaches don’t respect Richt on a professional level. That’s why we’ll have to settle for some no name 2nd tier hack at DC for the 3rd time in Richt’s tenure.

Continuity is a good thing.

Bulldawg35, agree about S&C. Coach T’s methods are old and outdated. I remember watching a segment on Bama’s S&C earlier in the year on gameday and he is firey, innovative, and conditions the h*ll out his guys. You can see it even in the eye test.

Richt/McGarrity have to hit a homerun with this next hire, and they seriously need to take a look at the S&C as well. Our guys simply don’t pass the eye test. Remember when Richt first got here, and brought VanHalenger with him? Our guys were setting and breaking all sorts of strength records. Then DVH went on cruise control because he was getting close to retiring. When’s the last time we’ve heard of anyone doing anything spectacular in the weight room?

Geoff Collins (DC) coached under your highness The Gnome Saban at Alabama. Last year Miss State was 5th in scoring defense (23 points a game) and 4th in total defense 349 yards a game. Collins is also known as a strong recruiter. This was done in the SEC West – Bama, Aubarn, LSU, A&M, etc. Collins is a native of Georgia. He has been at Miss State 3 years. Saban has spoken highly of Collins and you could bet that if Smart were to go to UGA that Collins would be on Saban’s short list of DC’s.

There could be something to this rumor.

I think Georgia has a better chance of getting Jeremy Pruitt. Pruitt has such a great resume I would pay out over 1 Million to get him away from Florida State. He also could Coach Defensive Backs. Collins does look good but not as good as Pruitt.

Jeremy Pruitt – DC’s against the ACC – Collins DC’s against the SEC. Both are good and I would be satisfied with either if I can’t pry away Pat Narduzzi who is without a doubt the best. I don’t want Smart – to much money – over rated. I do like his recruiting though could he do it if he didn’t have Saban behind him?

Geoff Collins…hmmmm. The Bullpups have been playing good defense for a while but I’m not sure if this is fills the “splash” requirement. I’ll have to do some research here. The secondary coach has to be a first class teacher no matter what. Those poor kids have to be retrained

756DAWG – BS35 (aka Milk Dud) claims to know the law…. which is dubious. Any way Dud says they have to wait two week after the DC signing and interview 3 people for it to be legal.. think he has this corn fused with the NFL policy on hiring “minority” coaches.

Pruitt still gave up 31 points and a bunch of yards to Aubarn but I guess he is a little better than Grantham? this is not bad I guess but I would like to see what Narduzzi could have done with these guys. Pruitt is a good recruiter and knows the Florida market – that’s a plus. Bet that the whole UGA staff (except Richt) will get a raise now as Pruitt didn’t come cheap. 7576,

You’re right…the 3-4 is the base. UGA played 4 down at least 50% of the time. It’s just the appeal of the base that makes recruits feel that it is preparing them for the NFL…

DawginColorado

We played a 4-2 5 most of the time… more than likely we will have 1 bull rusher on one end and a OLB on the other. The LB corps will be shaken up a bit. I wonder if Tramel Terry will stay on defense now?

Jeremy Pruitt & Kirby Smart have one thing in common. They were both great recruiters but consider this fact- Saban is the closer. Can they close without Saban?

Pruitt was only at FSU one year? That means the talent was there before he arrived.
I do like the fact that his background is that he was a DB in the NFL and his specialty is DB’s – same as Saban.

Not sure that Richt will be welcome at FSU after this poaching of their DC!
Bobby Bowden is chuckling about this one somewhere.

If this hire go’s through, after the back ground check, this will change everything at Georgia. The amount of money it took to get Pruitt just about guarantees Bobo being bumped up to $750,000. Glad to see McGarity getting off some money. Indoor practice facility should be announce soon.

Trey Matthews is a safety – period. UGA is loaded at LB – need safeties. That is why Tramel Terry was moved. I don’t know that I like this move either. He was primarily a WR and QB in high school and won’t be starting at safety any time soon ’cause he has a huge learning curve to overcome.

Very few true freshmen ever start at safety in the SEC and this should have been a learning year for Trey matthews but unfortunately he was forced to start – even with all the injuries he had. He will be much improved in 2014.

It seems likely that this was all done before Grantham took the Cardinals job. I can’t imagine that a search was conducted and a new guy hired if they started this on Sunday night after getting the news from Grantham that he was moving on. Richt must have had this in place prior to the weekend.

I don’t know much about Pruitt, but this seems like a good hire to me on the surface. I understand he only has had one year as a D coordinator, but I like his high school experience, and the d backs coaching experience he had at BAMA as well. Seems like he has won about 90% of his games everywhere he has been the last 5-6 years.

This has completely changed my outlook for the future of the Dawgs. Richt and Company are serious about winning and willing to make changes to bring that about. Next thing you know, we will have changed our approach to special teams and maybe even offensive line and strength and conditioning.

You know what I call this? A DAMN GOOD START!

We can’t worry about good assistants leaving. It is the way that things go in the business and who know what may happen at any given time. The key here is getting the ball rolling in the right direction…you know the physics thing. Georgia built on the defensive side until VanGorder left. Then Willie slowly sapped that momentum and it has wallowed in the stye ever since.

I won’t like it if Pruitt builds our defense back to where it should be and then gets lured away but that is how the game is now. If he gets the momentum moving in the right direction, the Dawgs should have their pick of new DCs if that day comes.

I agree that the o-line and special teams still have to be fixed. But if Richt played it right with the hire he now can hire a special teams coach. Pruitt can call the defense and still coach the db’s allowing Richt to hire a special teams coach. Richt made his own bed by not getting rid of any coach and doesn’t have a defensive coach to blame anymore. No more excuses. Go Dawgs!!!

Mac…

I hope he can fix the issues….I mean he has to hire a special teams coach! I don’t know any other way he can fix it…of course I’m not a coach though.lol. I’m just not sold on Huston mason yet. I think he has a long ways to go before he is sec caliber…..the o-line losing 3 starters is pretty scary!

Richt may of missed his chance to win the national title….because Murray was great for UGA and it’s going to be hard to replace him! I still think next year the SEC will be an offensive league! We will still have to out score people….not because our defense will be bad…it’s because I think our league is trending toward that era.

Agree 35 on OL issues and young Mason taking the helm!….D better give up much less points this yr and not rely on Mason.

The whole feel of the off season just changed. Instead of going into next year wondering if our secondary would be 3 steps late getting to a receiver and how long Richt would wait to fire Grantham if the defense sucked again, we have hope.

Jeremy Pruitt would not have come here if he thought that Richt was a bad coach people. Sorry, he has seen good coaches up close and personal. He may provide the necessary counter balance to Richt’s always under control demeanor. There is a distinct difference between intensity and just yelling. Van Gorder was the counter balance in the early years. He was intense and didn’t just yell because that was how he expressed himself. Both are needed. A calm, cool head is good. A fiery second in command is essential. The chemistry may finally be right again.

The rest of the recruiting season has changed complexion and spring practice will be very interesting. Since we essentially played a 4-2-5 most of the time…it will be interesting to see if we go with 3 true D-line and a pass rush specialist or if he brings in packages for certain situations.

Next season Gurley will split carries with Marshall, Michel and Chubb. Which freshman plays the most will depend on how quickly they take up pass blocking. Something tells me Chubb will be the better blocker.

Don’t get down because Mason looked bad in the rain folks. He still almost won the game for us and would have if Lynch holds onto that pass. He is as good as Murray was heading into 2012 and maybe better. Getting Mitchell and JSW back will open up the passing game. And it could be that one of our lesser known receivers blossoms to add even more firepower.

A good defense gets your offense more opportunities as well. I can see developing JJ Greene as a slot receiver to take short passes and get lots of yards after catch.

That’s true….having JSW and Mitchell back will help stretch the field…I wish we would of gotten josh Malone but oh well we can’t get them all! I like the other 2 WR’s we have commited though.

Richt may continue to do ST his way but go back to when we had a staff member sewing it all toether like Fabris did back in the VanGorder days. Our STs were special back then. And we need to identify and develop a punt returner. I think we have a couple of guys to do kickoffs. I would not be at all surprsied if Tramel Terry ends up being the punt returner. He has Boykin written all over him.

Great hire-somewhat uncertain but the intangibles, ie recruiting and stabilizing the Defense is a plus. Dawg in Col–not only does the Offense get a few more chances but there is also a large burden off their shoulders knowing they do not have to out score everyone because now they can rely on the D.
Flo(i think said this)–yes, that is the danger of being a good coordinator–other teams come looking for you as HC–hope he works out well and we have him for a while. This, however, proves that CMR is serious about this team–he did what he had to do to make us better; for that i am thankful.

35, the fire may be back in CMR–i hope so. Because good or bad i am a DAWG!!!

It all starts with our O- line….. We have to be able to run block better in the red zone! The past sec champions have ran the ball well….it’s true the past sec champions have usually led the league in rushing like auburn this year. I just don’t think Richt will ever have us run more than pass….I can only think of one year he did and that was 2007. I think next year we should run more just to take the pressure off of Hutson mason.
