Ain't it sweet! (Georgiadogs.com)
Old memes die hard.
On “SportsCenter” late Saturday night one of ESPN’s talking heads introduced a recap of the Dogs’ big win over the Gators by noting that “Florida has owned this series” since Steve Spurrier arrived in Gainesville.
That’s just the sort of glib commentary we’ve come to expect from the self-proclaimed Worldwide Leader in Sports. Yes, we all know the Gators dominated the Georgia Bulldogs during the Spurrier years, with the former Gator QB going 11-1 against the team he hates above all others.
We also know that during that span University of Florida fans developed an interesting amnesia about all the years that went before, acting as if modern football history began in 1990.
It’s understandable that folks in Gainesville like to cite the Gators winning 18 games against Georgia since that time, but it’s also completely arbitrary.
Why start with 1990? Why not start with 1964, when Vince Dooley arrived in Athens? Oh, yeah, he had a 17-7-1 record against the Gators, which they’d just as soon forget.
But the lazy media penchant for playing along with that Gatorized view of football history should have run its course by now. The Visor has been absent from Gainesville for more than a decade and is no more relevant to the discussion these days than Dooley is.
In the years since Spurrier left, the Georgia-Florida rivalry has become ultra competitive. The past nine years? Florida holds a slim 5-4 edge. Over the past six years, it’s dead even at 3-3.
So let’s put to rest this business of anyone “owning” the battle for the Okefenokee Oar, OK?
Unless, that is, we want to start the count with 2011, the Muschamp Era, during which Georgia has won two in a row, making Coach Boom 0-fer against his alma mater.
How’s that for being owned?
A few other thoughts and observations from the Dogs’ win over the Gators …
Jarvis Jones, named Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, deserves all the plaudits he’s gotten after the Florida game, but let’s give a big woof also to Damian Swann, who forced the fumble that was recovered by Jones on the Gators’ third offensive play of the game, setting up the Dogs’ first score, and also intercepted a Jeff Driskel pass in the third quarter, leading to a Marshall Morgan field goal.
While we’re at it, let’s note that Mike Gilliard, who felt “disrespected” after Shawn Williams essentially called him out earlier in the week by saying Alec Ogletree and Amarlo Herrera should never come out of the game, responded nicely. Gilliard had six tackles against the Gators, which tied him with Williams, Ogletree and Herrera.

Zander Ogletree celebrates with fans after the win over the Gators. (Bob Andres / AJC)
And how about forgotten man Zander Ogletree, who came in at fullback after Merritt Hall got hurt and not only did a good job blocking but caught a pass for a first down on Georgia’s first drive. …
There’s a fine line between inspired play and out of control, and the Dawgs crossed it too many times Saturday, drawing a ridiculous 14 penalties for 132 yards. The challenge for the Georgia coaching staff this week (particularly on defense) is to find a way to keep the players fired up for Ole Miss while getting the penalty situation in hand. …
Georgia hasn’t had very good luck with trick plays this season. Too often, they appear to be successfully completed only to be wiped out by a penalty, as was the case again Saturday with the onside kick. …
Malcolm Mitchell is back where he should be and that produced great results Saturday, with the erstwhile cornerback catching five passes, including the big one for a touchdown. Which prompted one of my favorite postgame quotes from Mark Richt, who shortly before that had pulled Mitchell after an unsportsmanlike conduct call. “I’m glad I put Malcolm back in the game,” said UGA’s master of understatement.

I was shocked and in awe how we won that game. It’s a shame a player had to inspire the team instead of the coaching staff. Oh well , a win is a win, but this one is pretty damn sweet.

We haven’t played a game that physical against a quality opponent in memory. Hopefully Richt and Bobo learned some things from the gutsy performance. If you challenge a group, the Oline, they will respond. I thought they should have used Gurley more given his success in the first half, Murray might not have had two of those picks had we continued to pound the run.
Obviously the defense was spectacular, and the tackling on the special teams was tenacious. Need to channel those emotions, play at a high level but with more discipline. They looked like “Junkyard Dawgs”.

Also @bardawg… We don’t necessarily hear about everything that goes on at practice or in the locker room. We don’t REALLY know everything that the coaches do or don’t do. I LIKE the fact that Richt doesn’t throw his players under the bus. He criticizes privately and praises publicly. That’s how you win the respect of your players.
And this whole thing about not showing emotion on the sideline? I don’t recall Tom Landry being all that emotional, and he did OK. I think it’s just the idea that everyone should be like some of the currently successful coaches, that that is the only way to achieve success. I like the idea of a leader remaining calm. I don’t want a captain on my ship(or commander of my battalion, etc) having to be emotional to get his sailors/soldiers to do what is expected. It is a tactic to be used sparingly. And I think Richt understands that…

Interesting…there was all this talk about Mark Richt just not being able to beat Florida. Is this the beginning of the “Will Muschamp just can’t beat Georgia” era? Thanks for bringing up the history of the UGA/FLA rivalry. So many forget that Georgia leads the series. And isn’t it ironic that despite the fact that Spurrier was able to beat his rival, it’s his former team that may have spoiled his chances of returning to the SEC championship? I really believe that South Carolina expended all of their energy on the Georgia game. Spurrier hatred for Georgia really isn’t healthy, is it?

Great well earned win! I am more proud of this win than I was embarrased by the SC game. What makes so many people think the coaches have not said to the players what Shawn Williams said? Good for Shawn, just wished he did not identify any specific players.
Coach Richt, I am sorry for questioning whether you and the st’aff could get these supremely talented kids ready to play in the biggest games. Let’s win out and get ready for LSU or Bama.

After such a great victory I hate to be negative but Murray just “chokes” in big games. I know some of his throws were dropped by receivers but many of his throws were off the mark. It seems if Murray gets a little heat in the pocket he panics and makes a bad throw. I thought our OL played much better in this game, great to see some running lanes for Gurley. You “win with defense” and we proved that last night. JJ is just a “beast” and the DL played great. I think CMR needs to go back into the market this year for a kicker, this kid we have now is too unreliable, he is going to cost us some close games in the future.
Congratulations to the Defense! Continue to play with the intensity you did last night and we will be hard to beat. We have the players to compete with anybody we proved that last night.

Bill,
Great win for the Dawgs!
You are right about the restoration of the rivalry. Nothing could be sweeter than ruining the gator season, and giving ours a little boost.
I hope the fans will get behind this squad, and not get caught up in criticism of the players or talking about Alabama. We need to focus squarely on an Ole Miss team who has a good football coach who has had success against Georgia. Mississippi is a dangerous team with nothing to lose. They would want nothing more than to ruin it for Georgia. Not to mention Auburn, who by all accounts is AU-awful, but still. Nothing is guaranteed.
I’d like to see Georgia get on a roll against ole miss with the same sort of intensity (minus the flags) and get the talking heads talking about how Georgia is the hottest team in the country by years end.
It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog!

Couple of thoughts….
Snake that comment you made is as ignorant as your monicker!Jones did play and so did the other DAWGS get over it
On Arron Murray he is a gamer period, but he is much like Farve and Romo in that he thinks he can thread the needle too much.He had the one Int get away from him and got a flyer the others were just to tight of throws to make. When he came back out in the 2nd half you could sense he was going to get it done. That last drive was golden and let’s remember Florida is a good defense this wasn’t Tech we were playing.
Gurley and Marshal are studs feed them the ball.Gurley got stronger as the game went on.
Mitchel needs to control his mouth but the guy is a player and took the game over on the last drive. We need to get the tight ends in the game plan more but our passing game is looking better every game.
The Defense played at the level of it’s talent for the first time,we looked like Junkyard Dogs! If our D plays like this the rest of the year we can play with anyone, period. The talent has been but the desire to hit someone just showed up.
So you haters keep hating and you bandwagon hoppers keep at it but this is a good team that can become a great team if they and the coaches stay aggressive.Go DAWGS GATA!!

Don’t start drinking the Kool-Aid. This is still the same coaching staff that has let down their team and fans far too many times. Under coaching or just flat out getting out coached far too often. While I’m happy the team won, that does nothing to solve the undercurrent of problems that have been there over the last 5 years. Team discipline being one for sure. Yes its a big game, but lack of coaching is still evident.

Yeah, Barry B., if only we could be in the top ten of the AP poll, then we would be relevant. Oh, wait…
Well, then, if we could just get in the top 10 of the BCS standings, THEN we would be relevant. Oh, wait…
Well, maybe if we beat Florida twice in a row, THEN we would be relevant. Oh, wait…
Well, maybe if we could just make it to the SEC championship game, THEN we would be relevant. Oh, wait… we did that last year, and are in the driver’s seat this year.
Just not quite getting your definitions of mediocre and relevance, sir! Unless championships are your ONLY definition of success. Then you must consider Auburn relevant and non-mediocre, because they won just 2 years ago. Personally, I’d take our situation over Auburn’s, because we have had success for 11 of the past 12 years. Do I want a championship? Sure I do, but so does EVERY other team in the NCAA. Don’t forget, THEY’RE trying to win, too!

I’m not too worry about the penalty situation for this week. This was a super heated contest. I don’t think we’ll get in a shoving match with Ole Miss in pregame warmups.
Some of those penalties should’ve been no calls — starting with that celebration penalty that still gets applied haphazardly.
But we’ll need to maintain discipline against Auburn and Georgia Tech, who will both be playing with chips on their shoulders.

Another AJC writer stated that Richt was 1-9 since 2008 in such games – he is now 2-11. So I guess the bigger question is now that he is 2-11 in “big games” does that erase all of the negative feelings that the UGA fans have who want a change? The point is you have barely post anything this entire season; now Richt finally wins a big game you’ve posted more today than you’ve posted in several weeks
And no the game did actually work out for me as Ive stated in previous years if we beat FL every year I can deal with 9 win seasons so long as the coach isnt paid a top 10 salary for just winning 9 games and fans having to pay so much for season tickets just for winning 8-10 games against cupcake teams
also
the points I make that have gone over your head for years is the childish posts from moronic people on here talking national title every year and once again after beat FL while looking terrible doing it here we go again with the national title talk
sorry but that ended against SC thanks to your favorite snoozing coaching staff not preparing the team once again to play ball
This coaching staff isnt winning a national title much less playing for one
oh
One more thing; as promised 5 yrs ago I made a change to my name since Richt finally beat FL 2 yrs in a row

What those talking heads usually don’t tell folks is that Florida had a bye-week advantage before the Georiga date during most of that run. Glad the new scedule did away with that. Now we’re equally exhasted when we hit each other.

@ Neutral – Of course there is a connection between the schedule and the record. If you go back before the Spurrier era, Florida always played UGA the week after the UF – Auburn game, while UGA had a bye or patsy the week before the UF-UGA game. That’s why UGA has a great record against UF for decades prior to Spurrier fixing the schedule. Now the schedule advantage has been shifted back in UGA’s favor. Also, during many of those decades of UGA domination, UF played most of its games on artificial turf, while UGA played on natural turf. While the UF-UGA game was on natural turf. Spurrier fixed that handicap as well. These things seem trivial, but history shows that they are as influential as players and coaching. Until the schedules get leveled, UGA can look forward to another run of good times.

Ole Miss will be a tough out, especially if we stink up the joint like we did on offense vs. Florida. That being said, I just don’t think Ole Miss has the horses to pull off the upset. And Auburn is dreadful, as in the worst Auburn team I have ever seen. Dawgs won’t blow these two games.

What’s old? UGA whipped Spurrier when he was a player to the point he will never recover and despite all his success as a coach he can’t make up for that disappointment. If you ever played sports you would know nothing replaces winning as a player. No coaching job in the world makes up for your playing days.

P-Man@10:26pm and KBP…I agree…T Landry and T Dungey are great examples of remaining calm during the battle and still being successful. I question these ‘experts’ saying CMR is ’soft’ or ‘unemotional’. Far as that goes, Muschump and Chizik are pretty emotional on the sidelines. Saying that it’s too bad it takes a player to fire up the team is specious too. Like you said, unless you’re at practice every day and on the sidelines every game, you have no idea who motivates whom; who has fire; who plays hard, etc etc. One of the better ones is the continuing comment that CMR has ‘throttled back’ CTG.
P-Man@8:43am…right on again. Too many ‘expert fans’ expect nothing less than a NC. I believe a team almost has to have a Heisman winner/candidate to win a NC; stars have to align, BCS ranking, etc. There are about 20 or more ‘top programs’ that these ‘fans’ should call out.
Then ya got your perennial, “CMR/Bobo should have_________”; or “They need to__________”
They watch all the games on TV or played a little HS football and seem to know more about play-calling than the coaches. EG, “Should have run Gurley more.” Well, we ran the ball 35 times and passed it 24 times. Should have run more?
And AltamahaDawg…the usual voice of reason. I don’t understand why your ‘main detractor’ hasn’t gone over to Bama…or LSU…or Awbun. Yeah, Awbun has a recent NC; great program…and a very fiery, emotional coach on the sidelines.

When will we get a filter for this blog?
Williams was tied for the team lead in tackles and made a vicous neck tackle in the first half to stop UF from getting a first down. He backed up his talk all game.
Murray tried to force passes into tight spaces in the first half and paid for it with three interceptions. Hopefully he continues to develop and learn. He did a much better job of protecting the pass and managing the offense in the second half.
Both defenses were pounding people and ball hawking. Branden Smith is a name we rarely hear anymore. I thought he was going to have a couple of picks this game but he missed. I’d like to see him in the return game. He never seemed to let the ball bounce away.
I think it was Jones who said after the game that we need to play defense like this for the rest of the season. We also need to respect the opposition, who isn’t going to roll over.

Oh, I get it. The whole piece is homerboy spin.
Hey, it’s a great win, no doubt about it. But the smart fan prays for Death Valley magic, bad gumbo for the Alabama team, or divine intervention this weekend, because there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to suggest Georgia can move the ball well enough to roll with the Tide for more than a half.

I know if we pull off the onside kick Richt looks like a genius, but holy crap. Florida’s offense couldn’t do squat against our defense, and you could see that it was going to be a long game for Driskell & Co. very early on. Why even risk giving them the ball at our 45 yard line?
I think about that and the endzone stomp in ‘07. Georgia under Richt has now won two in a row and has split the last 6 against the Gators. Let’s start acting like we belong on the field with them. No gimmicks needed, just good old-fashioned hardnosed football.
Hopefully winning back-to-back will change the entire program’s outlook on this series for the forseeable future.

Didn’t watch the beginning of the ESPNU college football show this afternoon, but it would appear that that ex Tech – heh, heh, heh – quarterback, Lugy-bill, has decided that Florida will end up as the SEC rep in the Sugar Bowl, with Alabama in the BCS-NC. Guess he’s saying that, and assuming we end up in Atlanta, if we lose to Ala, we’ll have two losses and Florida with only one loss…see? So one year we don’t get picked for something because we didn’t play in the Conference Championship, and this year we get dinged if we play and lose in it. Fact is, we win against Ole Miss and Auburn, and then we upset Alabama, then watch em all squirm. Of course it’ll probably put a K State, or a Notre Dame or an Oregon in the NC and the SEC kicks us out because we cost em all that money…suits me.

Murry did not have a bad game – he had a bad half, then came back in the second half and dug out of a hole against a strong FLA defense. Sure UGA’s defense saved the day, but this is a team sport, not just an offensive showing. Florida was # 2 in the country and ESPN was all up in their shorts telling us how FLA was on the upswing while GA was on the down. But gues what, our team put it all together and beat the rising Gators. We laid an egg against USC. Can’t change it, so let’s stop worrying about it and take care of Ole Miss. But yes, lets do talk about the game of football.
Thats a pretty broad question , Mobile. The defense was out of this world, but really they were as I had said all week, just themselves, and not the imposters that defied explaination. The offense did enough to win, and frankly I thought played a lot better than first impressions, when I saw the replay devoid of the emotion. I thought the special team were solid. We obviously have some issues that only TIME (PK) , or a new player (returner) is going to solve. I thought our coaches had one of thier better game days in that venue.
Be glad to go into more specifics on any of those.

Talk about being glib. The tired refrain that the Dawgs have to play with discipline ignores reality. The officials were clearly rattled by the game’s intensity and called many penalties that would ordinarily not be called. Other than Mitchell’s late game smack talk, I didn’t see undisciplined play. Yep, two pretty realistic statements. You’re right, you don’t insist on a NC.
But, l0-2 an utter failure? Admittedly, 10-2 would not be a “great” year. But utter failure? Again, feel free to become a Saban/Bama fan if that’s your expectation. I think most fans consider it a successful year if we play in the SECC game. In your defense, I also believe most fans expect us to not get blown out by ANY team and to play competitively in a good bowl game (EG beat teams like Mich St).
Realistically, I don’t recall seeing Bobo on the field. I do recall Murray throwing INTs, giving Flawduh a short field on three on them.

Yes its an utter failure with the schedule and talent that we had this year
FL and SC our only 2 toughest games still do not have the talent that we have this year
Next years realist expectations for me is at least 3 losses with the schedule and players lost
but this year come on; there was no excuse in a 35 pt route by SC
Yea Murray was bad in the 1st half but was better in the second; Every saw Murrays confidence was down why are you going to continue throwing the ball over the middle against their D; why not roll him out more in play action or dump passes to build his confidence up
instead bobo in typical big game fashion ran up the middle that they basically shut down in the second half
again Richt and Bobo have created the No QB competition by telling Mason he isnt playing period so here we are with the situation we are in

Yea Murray was bad in the 1st half but was better in the second; Every saw Murrays confidence was down why are you going to continue throwing the ball over the middle against their D; why not roll him out more in play action or dump passes to build his confidence up
instead bobo in typical big game fashion ran up the middle that they basically shut down in the second half
again Richt and Bobo have created the No QB competition by telling Mason he isnt playing period so here we are with the situation we are in
*******************************
Yeah, I wish Richt had put Mason in. Then we would have lost the game and blown Mason’s redshirt year.
But of course it would have been great fuel for flat tire 2 years from now when he would have said, too bad we have a freshman playing QB with our Junior running backs, a senior OL and 9 returning starters on defense.
Yeah, great plan

never demanded a national title in my posts; what I have stated is there is no excuse that a top 10 paid coaching staff with more NFL talent cant win big games
********************************
Liar
All you have talked about is national titles and beating Saban
You said last week that beating florida was not enough and until Richt won the SEC and beat Saban and won the national title, you will continue to bash
Clue for you moron
We just won a big game

You said until Richt beats Saban and wins the SEC, that beating Florida was not enough in your eyes to stop bashing. All you have done today is complain about no big wins yet we just got one.
No I did not post an article about the national title. I said we need to worry about Ole Miss

And BTW sport, this team is ranked 6th in the BCS and is not out of the running to win the SEC East and the SEC and the BCS, all things that you have said are impossible to accomplish with this coaching staff.
I’m not guaranteeing anything either so don’t go there.
But you can’t win it if you don’t even get to play for it.

I did say that winning out this year would change my perception of them
But Ive never demanded this coaching staff win national titles; just make UGA respectable
Good luck on finding where I posted they must win the national title
Also
Its too late for Mason; why would we even bring him in to a game mid season; give me a break

What gets me about you and Altamaha is you two and many of the other kool-aid gang are so quick to come out and defend your Hero instead of looking at where the program is
All Ive ever done is respond to the moronic statements year after year from some of these fans who come on here before the season starts and during the season before we lose about “”We are wining the national title this year blah blah blah
Richt is the best coach; Bobo is the best OC blah blah blah
All ive said is; no we arent wining a National title with a coaching staff that cant win big games but everyone including you and Altamaha is quick to post garbage about how Richt has 100 wins; and the coaching is fine and blah blah blah
100 wins against mostly unranked teams is nice and really not hard to do when 8 games on your schedule are almost sure wins almost every year with the talent that UGA gets compared to their opponents
Chamionship coaches dont have a 1-10 record against the top 10; 1 win in 4 years against the top 20
while having more players go into the NFL than any other SEC school
and with such a poor record against decent teams why should the UGA season ticket holder be forced to pay such high prices for season tickets while a coaching staff that cant get it done against ranked teams is paid a top 10 salary
a national championship isnt happening under this staff and thats all ive said to the kool-aid crowd who think other wise
but I guess that doesnt make me a real UGA fan

All you do is gripe about the past and about things you cannot control.
I support the players and the coaches until they are no longer our coaches.
I believe we are getting better. The rest of the year will determine it.
I think we are saying the same thing honestly in 2 different ways.
You believe it absolutely won’t happen and I believe it might.

Its not griping its called bringing people down to reality with all this NC talk year after year week after week
Richt hasnt ever fielded a NC caliber team and never will; his teams are undisciplined and are never playing at the level they should; I mean seriously every game each year either the D is playing lights out and the offense is playing awful and vice versa;
Rarely do both offense come together as we saw in one game this year Vandy; Aub last year; and many others can be named
And that my friend is the problem with Richt and is why we will never win the NC so I have a problem when people come on here looking stupid by saying this is the year
Just look at AL they play great on both sides of the ball week after week; we stumble around against the likes of KY etc sure bama doesnt win all the time but they dont look like we do
I support the players and the University as for the coaches I dont because they are only there for their job;
they leave for other jobs all the time; me and you will be UGA fans long after they have moved on to other coaching positions;
I mean come on Dooley was about to go to coach at Aub one time remember that

2002 team was pretty darn good and din’t cheat to win the SEC.
2005 injury to DJ hurt the momentum that team had.
We lost to WV but if he stays healthy, Florida and Auburn games might have been different. We might have gotten a shot.
Those 2 teams were in the mix. This team can be in the mix if they stay motivated.
Part of this whole BCS title thing is luck. Florida in 2006? USC crapped the bed against UCLA or Florida is in the Sugar Bowl like us in 2002 and 2005.
I only want them to win what they can control and that is the SEC East and then the SEC.

The only downside I can see is we may end up in Outback bowl again..If we win out and then can’t win at the dome. If Gators win out they will end up above us in the polls due to having only one loss. They end up in Sugar Bowl, LSU more then likely in Capitol One. Tampa is ok but its getting little old… If you go to conf. championship and lose, you’re screwed.

Sorry taking a full 5 class load in college has disrupted my ability to post with any consistancy. I lived and died with the team just like always, its just that Monday through Friday I havent had the time to hop on a blog for an hour and a half a day.
I think AltamahaDawg hit the nail on the head with an earlier post. Putting Mason in is what teams with nothing on the line and no future do. We have a LOT to lose and an actual FUTURE as a program.
Think with this perspective of how things shape up for the next 2 years:
We go into next season with a RS Senior QB with records, division titles, and umpteen SEC games under his belt, to go with a good OL and 2 great RBs to try to hold up a restocking defense. That probably is good enough for 9 wins. Then 2014 comes around with the D restocked, granted not quite as much talent but still formidable, while two veteran RBs, veteran WRs, a (SHOULD be) great OL get to assist a system-savy, RS Senior QB looking to prove something after waiting his turn (shades of DJ Shockley). That could produce another great season.
Mark Richt sees the big picture, some of you are seeing red while trying to watch a football game, which is clearly disrupting your view of reality

the problem is I dont think Florida will run the table because they have to go to Tallahassee and FSU is no joke. If they lose by 10 or 14 there is NO way they get to New Orleans. not over an 11-2 team that BEAT them.

BTW, speaking of the futre, I got o see Brice Ramsey up close Friday night. he probabaly had the worst night of this season, but he still lead them to almost 50 points, threw for 2 TDs. (and actually threw 3 more that should have been caught) . Kid does it all.
Not thatIi expect him to be punting, but he averages over 40 yrds. Not that he will be kicking off, but has booted something like 45/50 out of the end zone. Has kicked a couple of FG too. Sold hotdogs at halftime, played the trumpet in the show, saved a kitten under the stands, and jumped off our team bus with noting more than his personal energy.

No one is saying teach Murray a lesson
Its called put Mason in games when Murray starts the kind of garbage he did last week
and see how the kid does we will never know how Mason will react in game situations
who knows he might end up better than Murray
Tom Brady / for an injured Drew Bledsoe easily is a great example
Its not the stupidest thing in football if you’ve watched the game once which by your comments you never have

Bill, I hate to say this, but Florida does own us during the lifespan of a lot of folks, including the entire student body of both universities that are under 22 years old. Spurrier owned us, Meyer owned us and even Zook owned us, 2 out of 3. Two in a row is great, I’ll take it. It’s a great start, let’s keep it going and get the results back in our favor over a say, ten year period.

Didn’t you get the message? After nearly a quarter of a century, UGA finally beat the Gators two years in a row. Congrats to the players for somehow finding a way to get it done because if it had been left up to St. Markus Rectumus and his over-paid assistants it probably would not have happened.
As Bill’s article states “Welcome to the New Normal” which translated means: every once in a while Murray will turn the ball over fewer times than his opponent and the coaching staff will claim victory in spite of their ineptness. So I guess all is right in the UGA football universe. Right?

I’m just stunned at the sheer immensity of the number of unemployed head coaches that shows up on this blog. Why, if UGA (or any school) hired them, there would never be another loss in the history of the school. All recruiting would go perfectly. All plays would be the perfect play, and there would never, ever, ever be another penalty. Oh, and UGA would win the BCS every year.
Unfortunately, there’s this thing called “reality”…..
