The players are back in Athens, students are preparing to move into the dorms next week, and the AP and coaches’ preseason rankings are just around the corner.
In the meantime, a couple of fresh rankings are out: CBSsports.com is sticking to what most have predicted by having UGA in its Top 10, ranked No. 6. However, the Sporting News differs a bit, putting Georgia at No. 14, noting that while there’s “a lot to like about the Bulldogs,” Mark Richt’s program still needs to “put it together for a whole season … easier said than done in the SEC,” and establish “some consistency at the tailback position.”
Update: The USA Today coaches’ poll came out Thursday, with Georgia ranked No. 6.
