UGA to Penn State players: Come on down!

Mark Richt was unusually open about his interest in Penn State players. (David Tulis / AJC special)

Mark Richt was unusually open about his interest in Penn State players. (David Tulis / AJC special)

While Mark Richt has perhaps been the most up-front about his interest in picking up some of the Penn State players who are free to leave the NCAA-hammered program and play immediately elsewhere, Georgia certainly isn’t the only SEC school looking at that possibility.

In terms of players currently on the Nittany Lions roster, this is likely to play out rather quickly, as most schools will be starting preseason camp soon — UGA on Aug. 2 — and in order to have a realistic shot at anything close to immediate playing time a transfer would need to be on campus by then.

It’s not surprising that Richt is interested, but what did widen a few eyes among college football observers was how he wasn’t at all coy about it when addressing the subject at Monday night’s UGA Day fan gathering. In fact, he volunteered the news that as soon as they heard about the NCAA sanctions against PSU, the Georgia coaching staff went over Penn State’s two-deep roster to identify players the Bulldogs might be interested in.

The fact that Richt offered that tidbit up in public is an indication that, yes, Georgia is really interested. And why not, the Dogs have a depleted roster that numbers less than Southern Cal, which is on probation!

Penn State players apparently would be welcomed by the UGA team as well. All-American Jarvis Jones tweeted: “Penn State players feel free to b a Part of BullDogs Nation!!!”

While you can bet Nick Saban and other SEC coaches are moving just as quickly as Richt, if more quietly, Georgia does have what appears to be a couple of built-in advantages: Georgia has plenty of room on its roster and also has on staff John Thomas, who until recently was Penn State’s strength and conditioning coordinator for 20 years.

As for which players Georgia might talk with, early speculation has centered on defensive end Deion Barnes and linebacker Khairi Fortt, both of whom considered Georgia out of high school and reportedly took recruiting visits to Athens. And UGA has at least somewhat of a relationship with two Penn State commitments — defensive end Garrett Sickels and tight end Adam Breneman — since both were offered scholarships by Georgia.

Beyond that, the most obvious need the Dogs have is experienced offensive linemen, so I imagine that’s where the Georgia coaches looked hardest when they examined the PSU roster at their retreat Monday. But the Dogs also are in need of additional depth in the defensive secondary.

Of course, we don’t know that Penn State players will bail on the program en masse, though it certainly would be understandable if they did, and Georgia may wind up not picking up any of the school’s current players.

It’s quite likely, however, that Pennsylvania — which proved very fruitful territory for the Bulldogs in past generations with names like Sinkwich, Trippi and Rissmiller — is likely to get increased recruiting attention in the future from a lot of schools, including Georgia. And in addition to Thomas, secondary coach Scott Lakatos is very familiar with the area.

Aunt Pittypat might have been aghast at more Yankees in Georgia, but this is one case where they’re entirely welcome!

What’s not being said is that there’s a line – fine or not – between letting kids know that you’re available should they be interested in exploring options and looting the place in the midst of a disaster. And the difference says a lot about who we are.

And the Big 10 only allowed the winners of the conference play in a bowl (Rose) until the 1970s.

Bama did play Penn State several times before the Lions joined the Big 10, so I didn’t count those.

Allowing any of the players to join our team would be doing them a big favor as well as helping our team. Richt is not being a vulture, he is offering an opportunity to players from a decimated and embarrassed football program to play competitive ball, increase their chances of success and possible make it to the NFL. You obviously need to “move fast” in this situation for all practical reasons.

The Georgia Media Guide and several sites say he was born in Pennsylvania but new research and Wikipedia say he was actually born in Croatia during World War I, where his mother was a refugee.

If anyone has something firm on this, I am curious. Doesn’t change his being a great player, just that there is no Pennsylvania connection like we were taught. Nick Saban has some Croatian origin too, but he was born in West Virginia.

Whoa. Dawgs do have a few roster spots available and there are opportunities to play between the hedges. But let’s back up a moment there Jack.

Let’s think about it from other than the Dawg’s roster and needs.

Let’s think about the needs of those young men at PSU. I’m sure they want to play, but juniors and seniors are moving toward a degree and I would think they have a great deal of loyalty to the Nittany Lions. They may not go to a bowl but they are not barred from wins and a conference champsionship or national rankings. I did not see any prohibition on that by the NCAA. I would think any movement would be incoming freshman and sophomores. Those young men will short of play [letter in 2011]. And they may wait to transfer after this season and cherry pick. Again, I did not see time frame on when they could transfer.

But let’s stop all the “as usual” recruitment that the Dawg Nation falls into each year. If my son was there this would be just a few of the considerations that would come into play for him rather than the fans at Georgia, Tech, or any other school / program with the mindset ” sign-them-up-now”.

We have a short roster because of the number of kids kicked off the team or the ones who decided to transfer. This roster stuff is a bunch of nonsense. The is a list out there on oversigning of all BCS schools that shows the number of kids signed from 10 and 5 years ago.UGA has won more games than 95 percent of the list.Stanford for instance has avg 18 recruits each signing class going back 10 years and they don’t seem all that affected.USC was the best team in the PAC-10 with the smallest roster to boot.It is an overrated issue.

This notion that somehow the 70th and on guy on your roster is somehow going to have a big impact on the field is dubious at best.Take our RB situation, folks whined about our “lack of depth” at RB last year while overlooking the fact that Ealey and King were expected to play in 2011.Brandon Harton and Carlton Thomas were not expected to get much PT,but we had to play them. The results are pretty much what you would expect from the 5th-6th guy on the depth chart.

Those extra 15 scholarship players must mean something, SOUTHGADAWG88.

Else, why would the NCAA take that many scholarships from the cheating programs?

Bad luck, or poor roster management (or both), we are in the boat, scholarship-wise, of a football program on NCAA Probation.

Good news is, we CAN sign a bunch for next year, but we are short-handed for ‘12. If you aren’t counting on a half-dozen or more injuries at fall camp, major and minor, then you better steel yourself.

@ Logical, UGA is fine at wide receiver. We have Mitchell, Conley, Michael Bennett, King and Scott-Wesley and even Wooten. Georgia doesn’t need safeties this season once Rambo comes back. We picked up a solid placekicker in last recruiting class. So your information is incorrect.

Look out this season for T.J. Stripling because he was already vying for playing time before a serious knee injury his freshman year. He’s got a chance to be really good, along with Harvey-Clemons, Ramik Wilson and Garrison Smith. Smith already was solid last season. Our defense (especially after the first two games) should be fine. Our offensive line is what I’m worried about. Marshall, Malcome and Samuel need to have decent blocking.

SOUTHGADAWG88

Joey I think taking scholarships, banning bowl games and championship eligibility do hurt a program.A program can survive scholarship reductions by signing high level recruits though.USC has done it recently,as I said earlier Stanford avg 18 recruits a year.
When you look at our team, what positions are we hurting at due to undersigning?OL maybe? The thing about the OL .. we don’t know if that extra 3rd or 4th guy would pan out any better than the guys we already had.The secondary looks a little light, but Sanders and Marshall were expected to by major contributors,and..we still had guys leave the team due to lack of playing time in the secondary.
This also points out how hard it is to get 6 or 7 high quality guys at the same position.Somebody is always going to leave due to lack of playing time. The other thing here is that when you look around the SEC,the top teams are not rotating a bunch of players. The better teams are taking more of an NFL approach, the starters play almost all the minutes.

If kids leave Penn State for Georgia or anywhere else, it won’t be because another program is stealing players. If a kid winds up anywhere, it will be because he realizes that the Penn State program is going to be in shambles and it would be no fault of his.

However, realize the trouble Penn State finds Itself in is not due to the actions of any outsiders either. OSU and Urban Meyer, Nick Saban and Alabama, Richt and Georgia; none of these people or programs have anything to do with the circumstance Penn State finds Itself in. First of all, WHY ALL THE GLOOM AND DOOM? UGA is picked to WIN THE EAST “AGAIN”!!! WE HAD LSU 28 NOTHING LAST YEAR AT HALFTIME, that is if our nervouse recievers didn’t drop sure touchdowns right in there hands and a few other SCREWUPS!!!! LSU DID NOT SHUT US DOWN OR BEAT US, “WE BEAT OURSELVES!!! South Carolina was OUT PLAYED in every part of the game and WON BY PURE LUCK!!!!!! WE BEAT THE GATORS!!!!!! DESTROYED AUBURN!!!!!! BEAT A GOOD GT TEAM!!!!!!! Go look at some of the final scores last year. MICH STATE ONCE AGAIN WAS DESTROYED IN THE FIRST HALF!!!! A young team again blew a SURE WIN!!!!!!! NOW PUT ALL THAT TOGETHER AND WHAT DOES IT SPELL FOR AN EVEN BETTER DEFENSE AND BETTER UGA TEAM THIS YEAR????? BOISE STATE IS SOOOOO GLAD THEY GOT THAT YOUNG UGA TEAM FIRST GAME OF THE YEAR. WE PLAYED SOOOOO BAD!!!!! Either way, UGA WON THE EAST LAST YEAR, AND IF NOT FOR BEATING THEMSELVES SHOULD BE SEC CHAMPS!!!! Now what if UGA had not beat themselves in the sec title game? What if they didn’t throw away 28 sure points FIRST HALF ALONE? DIFFRENT GAME FOR CERTAIN!!!! MAYBE UGA 45 LSU 10 MAYBE? DIFFERENT BOWL GAME, WITH A MORE MOTIVATED UGA FOR SURE. All these very real facts would have equaled a very different season. The same kind of season that earned BAMA AND THE GATORS NATIONAL TITLES BOTH WITH 2 LOSS SEASONS!!!! Also crowell was hurt the whole year mostly. He was not much against LSU because of enjory. Did he even play? I forgot loo. HAVE NO FEAR UGA FANS, THIS YEARS RUNNING BACK IS AGAIN THE #1 HIGHSCHOOL BACK AND BY THE WAY, HE PUTS CROWELL TO SHAME!!!!!!! I am glad he is not being over hyped. By far better than Crowell and played in a more traditional offense UNLIKE CROWELL WHO WAS A PRODUCT OF A SYSTEM. He was ok but nothing like this years running sensation!!!!!!! LETS KEEP HIS FEET ON THE GROUND PLEASE, NO HERSHELL COMPARESONS ALTHOUGH HE HAS AS GOOD A CHANCE AS ANYONE IN YEARS!!! DEFENSE WILL BE BETTER THAN LAST YEARS TOP 5 D COMPARED TO LSU AND BAMA BOTH!!! WE WILL HAVE THE BEST SEC D THIS YEAR ONCE THEY ALL GET ON THE FIELD IF THEY STAY HEALTHY!!!!! TALK BIG NOW BAMA AND LSU, ONCE AGAIN IT WILL BE UGA REPRESENTING THE EAST AND A BETTER VASTLY BETTER TEAM THAN DEFEATED LSU LAST SEASON MINUS ALL THOSE DROPS AND SCREWUPS IN THE FIRST HALF AND SECOND HALF MELTDOWN!!!! Less Miles and the LSU tigers know exactly how lucky they truly were. They know they were dominated in the first half. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER, UGA BEAT UGA LSU WAS LUCKY PERIOD!!!!!! AS FOR THE BAMA FANS RUNNING THERE MOUTH ON HERE, HMMM HOW MANY POINTS DID AUBURN SCORE IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE BAMA VS AUBURN NATIONAL TITLE TEAM???? BAMA ALMOST BEAT CAM NEWTON LOL BAHAHAHA WHAT WAS THAT FINAL SCORE BAMA FANS? REMIND ME, I FORGOT. LOL I personally believe UGA is about to have there dream season. Bama fans, you better look at the records the last 10 years. UGA AND LSU ARE ALMOST TIED. Around 2 games or so difference, both Florida and bama ARE WAY BEHIND UGA!!!!!!! LSU AND UGA ARE ALONE AT THE TOP IN WINS BY A LONG SHOT!!!!! If not for bama ’s 2 nc in the last 10 years UGA would be considered the far more successful program in these last 10 years alone. In the 80s we beat bama like a drum plenty of times. As soon as UGA has a couple of good years that end in NC then UGA not bama will be Top program in all the SEC the best conferance by far. PENN STATE ROYALTY WELCOME TO AN HONEST PROGRAM UGA THAT IS BUILT TO DOMINATE NOW!!!!!!! WITH YOUR HELP THE 2012 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS UGA COULD BECOME A DYNUSTY FOR YEARS TO COME!!!!! WITH UGA YOULL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT NCAA JUDGEMENT DAY AGAIN!!! SABON WILL BE GONE IN A YEAR OR SO WHEN THE NCAA CATCHES UP TO HIS CRIMES. THEM BAMA PLAYERS WILL BE PLAYING FOR UGA. SO PLEASE COME ON NOW, AND SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE. UGA IS NOW THE FUTURE’!!!!!!! AS WELL AS THE CLASS OF THE EAST NOW!!!!! UGA 2012 SEC CHAMPS NO DOUBT!!!!!!!! HUGE BAMA FAN

Who? I think you just made my point. Out of this bunch there are 3 intramural starters and two average SEC WRs. Geez, nobody in that group is scaring any DC around the country.

As for secondary, UGA will not have their entire returning starters together until the middle of the season and that is if, a big if, there are no injuries. The starters are decent but the backups are virtually nonexistant, hence the move to take one of the only SEC quality WRs and shuffle him over to CB.

The desperate cry for Penn State players to come to UGA shows the failure of recruiting the last two years – for OL and DL . This year is more of the same. All the top DL / OL are going out of state. UGA recruiters know that winning BIG games is the key to getting the top players and this year is crucial – UGA must win the SEC to regain their footing in recruiting in the state of Georgia.

The active recruiting / solicitation of current Penn State players speaks to the total lack of character many of our institutions display today. It reminds me of the vultures circling the wounded wildebeast. First what does this say to the guys you already have on your roster. It says hey we think some of you guys are not good enough so we are going to go find some better players somewhere else. Second you are telling the world that winning football is a higher priority than being respectful of your fellow competitors.

These guys at Penn State are able to initiate a request to leave on their own. Things are bad enough for the school without having Georgia coming in and robbing the cupboard. The whole thing just speaks to the lack of character and intergrity with the current UGA coaching staff and administration.

Jerry – In response to your post, it is evident that you did not read the article. Coach Richt said we would welcome any player where we might have a need and who wanted to transfer. No one would make a player transfer. I also would guess that it is alright for Saban or Kiffen to get players but not for Georgia. As far as robbing the cupboard, I think the NCAA busted the cupboard all to hell last Monday with their sanctions.

Your sentence about character and integrity only shows how you lack the sense to know the difference.

Doug Dawg,

You are right. I hate seeing everybody turn their back on our team. Last year when I was at the Mississippi State game, there just wasn’t any enthusaism, and people were booing. No wonder the dawgs don’t win, there is no desire too. They are too nervous and afraid, because the entire season is all hot seat talk. I’ve played sports, and I can tell you the positiive effects your fans cheering for you can have. It’s like artifical adrineline.

This is very similar to what happened to the Braves in the 90’s. People started saying the sucked cause they kept losing the World Series….um they got there a lot. That should say something for the team. That’s what sucked the life out of Chipper….every once in a while he shows up again, and jacks one, but for the most part he’s just on cruise control.

As for the 2 recent NATIONAL TITLES UGA NEEDS TO BE THE TOP SCHOOL RECORD WISE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS IN THE SEC? How about the 1 loss season where we lost the national title shot by loseing to Florida by a point or so late in the season? Why did we lose that game? Well maybe because a 3rd string QB that would not even be 4th most placed replaced our STAR QB DJ SHOCKLEY who went on to play well in the NFL until injuries finally put him down. Joe T had heart but NO SKILL AT ALL!!!!! EVERYONE KNOWS IF SHOCKLEY PLAYED, UGA WINS THE NATIONAL TITLE THAT YEAR WITH AN UNDEFEATED SEASON IN THE SEC. WE OFCOU RSE WON THE SEC, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER NATIONAL TITLE!!!!!!!!! Now what about the more recent 2 loss season? 2 early stupid losses caused by enjury and stupidity. Either way by seasons end we WON THE SEC BY DEFEATING LSU IN THE TITLE GAME SOMETHING LIKE UGA 45 LSU 10!!!!!! IT WAS TOTAL DOMINATION!!! WE GOT PLENTY OF VOTES TO PLAY IN THE NATIONAL TITLE GAME WE WOULD HAVE EASILY WON!!!!!!! Instead we played UNDEFEATED HAWAII WITH THE #1 OFFENSE IN THE COUNTRY AVERAGING 50 OR 60 PER GAME WITH A FEW 70 AND 80 POINT GAMES I BELIEVE. And a good defence to compliment the oftener with HIESMAN CANDIDATE COLT BRENNON. Yep UGA was going down right? UGA FINISHED THE GAME BY KNEELING DOWN 3 TIMES DEEP INSIDE HAWAII’S. 5 YARD LINE. FINAL SCORE SOMETHING LIKE UGA 50 HAWAII 3, I cant remember exactly. I just know it was a total massacre. Hawaii couldn’t wait to get off the feild. I believe there coach stated we were heated by the best team in the country. 2 Losses is why we didn’t deserve #1 right? WE ENEDED UP #2. Both FLORIDA and BAMA played in the national title game a combined 4 times RECENTLY with 2 losses on there record just based on winning the SEC!!!!!!!!!!! SO WHY NOT UGA WITH 2 LOSSES AND DOMINATING IN THE SEC TITLE GAME? OR HOW ABOUT OUR 1 LOSS SEASON, LOSEING ONLY BY ENJURY??????? I GUESS IF ITS UGA THEY HAVE TO BE UNDEFEATED TO BE CONSIDERED!!!!! HMMMMM WONDER WHY?????? IF LIFE OR THE NCAA WERE FAIR UGA WOULD HAVE 2 RECENT NATIONAL TITLES “MAKING UGA THE TEAM WITH THE TOP RECORD AND WINNING PERCENTAGE IN THE SEC, SECOND TO NONE, FIRST TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!” PENN STATE ROYALTY come on down to the truly best sec program, with the MOST INTEGRITY!!!!!!!!!!

Doubt we will get anyone from Penn State. Sort of tough for a player to put all this together on short notice. I am not sure someone who chose Penn State would want to move all the way to Athens. Most have friends and family near by who already have tickets to watch them play. While it is a nice thought to fill some of our vacanies, not sure this is the way to do it. They will still play on TV and most bowl games Penn State would play in this year would not be that much of a loss to their players. I do not think they were expecting a BCS invite. I know the dawgs are thin, but the team will just have to make do with what they have.

Let those players decide for themselves if they want to go somewhere else or stick together through this and have the most important bonding experience of their lives. It also says a lot that your star player sees the diffiencies in recruiting and spouts off trying to lure players.

MY APOLOGIES, UGA DID NOT WIN THE SEC IN THE 2 LOSS SEASON. TENN won the east that year. Yet by years end EVERYONE AGREED UGA WAS THE CLASS OF THE EAST AND DESERVING TO PLAY IN THE NATIONAL TITLE GAME. Many felt UGA not LSU should have met Ohio State in the 2007 NATIONAL TITLE GAME. At seasons end, many of the bulldogs expressed there belief THEY WERE INDEED #1, HAWAII TOTALLY AGREED AFTER THERE UNDEFEATED BCS RANKED TEAM FELL 41 TO 10. It could have been far worse as UGA pulled there starters very early!!!! I WAS GOING BY MEMORY, MY MEMORY IS BAD BUT MY POINT IS CORRECT!!!!!!!!!! UGA is the fictom of NCAA PREJUDICE PERIOD!!!!!!! If not, UGA would have the top ranked program in the SEC in the last 10 years. ACTUALLY FAR, FAR AHEAD OF BAMA AND FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!! UGA is way ahead of both in wins in the last 10 years!!!!! IF NOT FOR THE 2 NATIONAL TITLES UGA WAS SCREWED OUT OF BAMA COULDNT TALK AT ALL!!! I wonder how many recruits would have come to UGA with those 2 STOLEN TITELS?????? MAYBE THERE COULD HAVE BEEN 2 OR 3 MORE!!!!! PENN STATE ROYALTY, DONT LISTEN TO THE LIES. UGA HAS BEEN AND IS THE CLASS SCHOOL OF THE SEC FOR THE LAST 10 STRAIGHT YEARS!!!!!!!!! INTEGRITY IS WHAT WE ARE KNOWN FOR AS WELL AS GREATNESS!!!!!!!! UGA HAS THE BEST CONNECTION TO THIS GREAT SCHOOL CALLED PENN STATE. We hired a 20 year connection. If people believe the bama LSU HypeI feel sorry for them. BOTH COACHES ARE SCANDEL RIDDEN AND THE NCAA IS ON ITS WAY, JUDGEMENT IS COMING!!!!!!!!! THEY CANT COME DOWN HARD ON JO PA AND PENN STATE LIKE THEY DID AND LET SABON KEEP PAYING HIS PLAYERS AND COVERING UP CRIMES!!!!!!!!!!! I PREDICT LSU AND BAMA INVESTIGATED IN NEXT 2 OR 3 YEARS IF NOT SOONER. They might be stripped of there national titles, either way SABON WILL RUN LIKE ALWAYS!!!!!!! LESS MILES WILL CRY LIKE ALWAYS, BOTH SCHOOLS GET PROBATION FOR WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS THEY DID!!!!!!!! LESS MILES GETS FIRED OR LEAVES FIRST. BAMA AND LSU FALL DOWN WHERE VANDY AND TENN HAVE BEEN WHILE THOSE SCHOOLS RISE ABOVE THEM BOTH!!!! Meanwhile UGA becomes the class of the sec and nation many years to come!!!!!!! CHOIR BOY MARK R AS THEY CALL HIM SURVIVES THE NCAA JUDGEMENTS BECAUSE OF INTEGRITY!!!!!!!!!! PENN STATE ROYALTY, YOUR ALL VERY SMART. IS THERE REALLY ANOTHER CHOICE HERE??? Its UGA who is built to win NOW and in the future, OR ITS MORE OF THE SAME OF WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH NOW!!!!!!! CAN YOU REALLY TRUST SABON OR MILES? GREAT COACHES MAYBE, BUT HOW CAN WE REALLY KNOW? THEY PAID EVERY GREAT PLAYER TO PLAY FOR THEM!! THE PAYING PLAYER DAYS ARE OVER!!!!!!! NCAA IS GOING TO CRUSH THOSE CONCEPTS!!!!!! If you go to bama or LSU you will have NO RESPECT AND NO FUTURE AND NO COACH I GUARANTEE IT!!!! ALSO UGA SENDS LOTS OF PLAYERS TO THE PRO ‘S EVERY YEAR WITH INTEGRITY, BE ONE OF THEM!!!!!! At least Choir boy Mark R will survive the coming NCAA JUDGEMENT DAY, and just look at his record and UGA ‘S WINNING in the last 10 years. PRACTICALLY IN A DEADLOCK WITH LSU AT THE TOP!!!!! BAMA IS FAR BIHIND UGA!!!!!!!!! BAMA IS ALL TALK, HYPE. AND FULL OF NCAA VIOLATIONS THAT MUST BE PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!!!! TRENT RICHARDSON ADMITTED IT RECENTLY!!!!!! PENN STATE ROYALTY COME ON TO UGA, WE WANT AND NEED YOU!!!!!!!! UGA IS THE NOW AND FUTURE DREAM TEAM!!!!!! Just research the words UGA DREAM TEAM to see why bama and LSU ARE TERRIFIED!!!!!!!!!!

Good article the other day regarding UGA and kids getting in trouble. Will you or anyone at the AJC be writing about the AP article out now regarding Tyler Bray at UT and the two valdalism incidents he won’t be charged for? Another example of why you don’t hear of trouble at other schools. A few threats and couple of season tickets and folks just want to drop charges. Amazing that Dooley just lets this stuff slide simply because Bray says he will pay for damages in one of the incidents. Kid would be expelled at UGA and won’t even have to run laps at UT and the media, except for you and the AP, just seems to ignore it.

You don’t know the half of it Altamaha. It’s sad. If I booked her trip, and paid her expenses, government could save about 60%. But I don’t make the rules. It’s kinda like the Navy wrench that costs $200.

It’s ironic, the purpose of her trip is to learn to spend your money more efficiently.

First of all ! Let’s get some thing straight ! To pursue & to explore are two different things! You can’t blame a youg man for wanting a chance to play for a championship, have national exposure ETC It’s ashame these young men have top pay the penalty for something they had nothing to do with !But this was the worst thing thats ever happened to my knowlege in college sports. So if UGA could open the door for some one WHY NOT ! Meyer didn’t waste any time jumping on this. AT least Richt was open honest & up front with this. For those who thing no one wanted to come to UGA BELONEY. It’s so close to the start of the season It would hard to bring in players now that would have a chance of competing. But PURSUING for the future would be a smart move ! LET THE BIG DOG EAT
