Keep talking Dawgs!
A personal note: Many of you will recall my writing about my Dad, who raised me as a Georgia Bulldog from as early as I can remember, sent all three of his sons to the University of Georgia, and who, even at the age of 89, has continued to wear his collection of UGA caps proudly.
Well, I’m sorry to report that Dad is in failing health in Athens and I’m shuttling back and forth between there and Atlanta, so my blogging this week may be less frequent. I appreciate your understanding and your good thoughts and prayers.
Even if there isn’t a new posting here, feel free to continue discussing the Dawgs in the comments, but please keep it clean and civil. Thanks.

Did everyone see where Mel Kiper has Abry Jones as the 4th best defensive end for the 2013 draft. I see great things from him and the entire defense next year.

IF A TEAM IS RANKED WHEN THE GAME KICKS OFF AND WE HAVE MORE POINTS THAN THAT RANKED TEAM WHEN THE 4TH QUARTER HITS 00 THEN YES THAT IS BEATING A RANKED TEAM.
Dont care if they went 6-6 or whatever that season, at game time they were ranked.

“the people that bash bobo on here are either A. tech fans or any other teams fans pretending to be UGA fans and are trying to start trouble or B. they are just not football people just casual fans of UGA that never really learned how to play football. anybody that played at the college level or higher will tell you bob knows what he is doing. I love Bobos offennse and when he has the right personel is truly beautiful to watch. every play the call is setting up the next play or a pay later on in the game. he is smart and has played the qb position forever… i for one will never question what he calls as he knows more football than any blogger on here.”

UGA since Dr. Terry Knapp’s era and even before with Dr. Fred Davidson at the helm as UGA President, has been less enthusiastic for the so called MNC than Alabama and LSU and lately, Florida. Yes, Mark Richt was hired to win the SEC but never was he told to go after the MNC. Simply wrong is that suggestion. Sorry.
UGA alumni argue that “we should always be ( now) in the hunt just about every year or so for the SEC East”, then go on from there and on rare ocassions, win the SEC CG. THAT scenario is what UGA leaders and $$ contributors expect. If UGA were to win the EAST again in 2012 and win the SEC CG, then all else CAN fall into place. If we are competitive in 2013 again for the SEC EAST, then the alumni are about 89% happy.
UGA has gone beyond the old south prescription for state pride based totally rooted in football. Alabama, LSU are STILL that way ………………….fine. Florida? only in the last 20 years have they even been a factor. They are a very fine school too ……..U of F.
UGA being close to Atlanta and being able to be academically selective and therefore superior to many if not all SEC schools BUTclose to Vandy on test scores ………………………wants to win the SEC East 3 time over maybe 5 or 6 years. THAT, to the alumni is the new benchmark for success.
It is what it is ………………….UGA will never try to be Alabama. They are a fine program and a fine school. We do our thing and they do their thing. Same with LSU.

When we all reach the day of meeting our maker,who will care what kid we signed or didn’t sign or how many National Championships we won.Some people need to get a life and worry about the things that are really important in life. I love the Dawgs as much as any true fan does, but I try to put things in order and worry about the things I can control. No one can control the minds and decisions of these 17 year old kids.Coach Ritch is a good man win or lose and life guidance is much greater than a win or two. Go Dawgs

Mark Richt just go out there, play around at some football and have fun. Don’t worry about 25 Losses over the last 6 years. We are 89. 99 percent happy with beating not 1 team who ends in the top 10 since beating Auburn in 2006 who ended up # 9.
Fine that we have Lost 7 games in a row, since against teams who ended up in the top 10.
Don’t worry about you have Lost 9 games in a row against teams who ended up in the top 25.
Ever since beating Georgia tek in 2009, not one team who finishes up in the top 25 has Mark Richt beat.

Now there are several observations about this.
(1) Saban out-recruits in this state, Georgia tek. How sad is that?
(2) Saban nearly out-recruits Mark Richt in this state, too.
(3) Saban dominates the state of Alabama, too.
(4) 7 in-state Georgia tek vs 9 in-state UGA is NO WHERE NEAR THE HISTORICAL AVERAGE WE DOMINATED THIS STATE WITH WHEN MARK RICHT HAD A PROPER
EXTENSION
We’ve lost in-state commitments to Georgia tek this 2012 signing date tomorrow, the likes of which have NEVER BEEN SEEN.
