Keep talking Dawgs!
A personal note: Many of you will recall my writing about my Dad, who raised me as a Georgia Bulldog from as early as I can remember, sent all three of his sons to the University of Georgia, and who, even at the age of 89, has continued to wear his collection of UGA caps proudly.
Well, I’m sorry to report that Dad is in failing health in Athens and I’m shuttling back and forth between there and Atlanta, so my blogging this week may be less frequent. I appreciate your understanding and your good thoughts and prayers.
Even if there isn’t a new posting here, feel free to continue discussing the Dawgs in the comments, but please keep it clean and civil. Thanks.

If it comes to he can’t hunker down one more time here, then it’s ok, he will see the face of God and you can rest assure he will be just fine and the day will come when you will reunite. If God grants him more time on this earth, just remember to tell him how much you love him.

Looks like the most UGA is going to sign is 20 or 21 kids this year which is horrible! You can expect the normal 2-3 to not qualify. This is so frustrating to me because there is NO excuse for this. NONE! A complete change from the top is needed in Athens my friends and it starts with Mike Adams. Write Gov Deal and request a change in leadership at UGA. Laziness should not be tolerated.

So out of that group, 10 of them havent even coached 100 games, 3 of them are first year head coaches, and dont know where you got Gene Chiziks stats from bc he is 35 and 29 as a head coach for a whopping 547 win %! Also 2 of them barely are over 100 (Pete Carroll at 102 and Petrino at 101)

Chip Kelly- 40 games
David Shaw- 13 games
Les Miles- 92 games
Larry Coker- 85 games and now coaching FCS
David Doeren- 14 games
Dana Holgorsen- 13 games
Hugh Freeze- 37 games

So once account for that your list just shows how good a coach CMR is.

Read on ESPN the list of Heisman candidates for next year. Did I really read that Murray is #2 n that list? I would love to know what ESPN sees in him that I don’t.
I hope this LeMay gets more of a chance next year. I use to be high on Murray, but he committed the same mistakes at the end of the year that he had at the beginning of the year. Not a sign of maturity.
Ouch on the O-Line recruit decommit. CMR needs to some how pull in at least 3 more big uglies before the end of signing day.

Avery Young and Brandon greene will most likely be dawgs, more so Avery than Brandon.
Also plenty of JUCO talent out there for OL and 2013 OL class out of this state is the best in decades so we will be fine with the OL. Not to mention a few top instate OL have us as the leader or top 3. And the best in the country has already pledge to go where derrick henry goes, which is UGA!

@TDF – My posts seem to be getting blocked for what ever reason. Thanks for the update. I felt Murray just did not perform up to his capabilities this past year. He has a world of talent, but just did not mature throughout the year.
I hope better blocking and a running game will help him next year. Still, I would like to see what this LeMay kid can do!

A lady who lives not too far fom me had the good fortune of being 75 and having both of her parents alive and healthy at 95 and 96. Her dad passed, and then is often the case her mom passed a month later. When asked if she felt lucky to have them that long, she said yes, but also remarked that whether you are 25 or 75, they’re still your mom and dad and it hurts. My wife (whose dad played for Georgia, by the way) went through a rough time with her dad’s failing health and passing. I wish you all the best….I’ll jump in on the blog about ball later, as this takes priority.

I lost both my parents in 2010, they also resided in Athens. They were blessed to send 4 kids to UGA.
I hope your Dad lives to see UGA win another National Championship in the upcoming years.

@ TDF – my blood has been boiling since yesterday with that piece of crap article that Chip posted. How about doing some actual investigating and finding out if that was Commings first arrest or if their were in fact other incidents before you post that drivel about it “may” not be his first arrest for domestic violence. The woman checked the box that said 1-5, well it “may” have been the first time she had to do that. I don’t condone hitting women and if Commings did what was alleged he should be punished, but that article by Chip was crap and he knows it. Find the facts before you go to print!!!

@ UGA Insider – I share some of your frustration, but I am calculating more like 23 – 24. The speculation about CMR’s job hurt us, but if we get the guys I think we are getting we should be ok and be ranked pretty high by most recruiting services.

All of a sudden they didn’t want to play for him after beating 8 ranked teams, going 13-0 in the regular season and being the first team ever to beat the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl in the same season?

@bucket I simply posted Danny Sheridan’s tweet about his odds for the NC next season. UGA was listed in his top 7 which I believe most Dawg fans, but obviously not you and TDF, would find interesting.
TDF attacked me when I said nothing about LSU except they were listed by Sheridan.

Are you serious??? If you dont know about what happened before the NCG go read the LSU boards. Its not a very well kept secret that Les had a meltdown when the OC, several OL and several key players like Shepard approached him to try and get Lee to start over Jefferson. Les told the OC to go find a new job and called the plays during the game, and benched all the players that confronted him.
Also it was easy to spot that the lineman werent blocking for Jefferson. They gave a half arse effort to send a message to Les that the players are more important than the coaches.
But go ahead and believe what you want, its not my team headed for a firey crash!
FYI thanks for bringing up the score of the game. Would you like me to break it down for you??
2 dropped TD passes, missed FG, pick 6, fumble in UGA redzone by Murray while litterally 1 inch above the ground, a punt return to the 25 of UGA, punt return for a TD. So yea Im real hurt from that beating hahahahahahaha. LSU had maybe 2 long drives ALL game long which isnt very dominating. Nor is getting 0 first downs and under 30 yards in the first half. More luck than skill in that W sorry.

Be thankful that you and your dad have the UGA fan connection. My father has pulled for Tech since 1981 after meeting Coach Dooley. I’ve always been a UGA fan and have always said that one coach or player didn’t make the program. I have had the better thanksgiving ever since. GO DAWGS!!
Bill, when you get time one question… Can you update us on the status of the “DAWG” new UGA? or has Russ proved himself to carry the title.

I wonder if we are losing out on the top OL guys other than Theus because of the problems with our strength and conditioning program. I wish UGA would go out and hire a “state of the art” consultant to setup the program. I don’t think the strength and conditioning isn’t up to an acceptable level. There isn’t an emphasis on “explosion” and that’s a major flaw. Joe T. can administer a given program but I don’t think he can create the program. UGA still ran out of gas in the second half of several games including the first two and last two which were the 4 losses.
