Losing Isaiah Crowell made life difficult for Mike Bobo Saturday. (Brant Sanderlin / AJC)
You can make a pretty convincing case that Georgia won the 2011 SEC East Championship in large part because of the terrific turnaround in its defense this season.
Certainly, on a day when the Dogs’ offense was again missing its top two running backs, its offensive line regressed and its quarterback at times looked like he was throwing with his eyes closed, the defense was definitely the difference in clinching the division title against Kentucky.
Time after time Saturday against Big Blue Georgia’s sputtering offense put the ball game in the defense’s hands, and that proved to be the difference, as Todd Grantham’s troops held the Wildcats to just 165 yards of offense, almost completely shutting them down in the scoreless third quarter. The Cats didn’t get a second-half first down until late in the fourth quarter.
Georgia may not have gotten many style points, at least offensively, in a game where most of their scoring came on field goals, but at the end of the day it was enough, and the Dogs are on their way to the conference championship game for the fourth time in the Mark Richt era.
Now, admittedly, Mike Bobo was dealt a pretty lousy hand when Isaiah Crowell went out for the game with a banged up ankle. With chief backup Carlton Thomas also unavailable, third-stringer Brandon Harton (with an assist from fourth-stringer Ken Malcome) had to step into the fray, and he discovered quickly that even a mediocre SEC defense like Kentucky’s is a whole lot more challenging than New Mexico State. Both Harton and Malcome coughed up the ball to derail Georgia drives.
Unfortunately, it didn’t help matters that when Crowell went to the locker room in the first half Bobo’s playbook also appeared to have gone missing, resulting in one of the more predictable (and least successful) halves the UGA offensive coordinator has had in a while. The low point came at the end of the first quarter and start of the second when three straight runs by Harton were stuffed thanks to the OL letting themselves be dominated.
But the defense persevered (in spite of at least one ridiculously blown call by the officials), and eventually, Bobo started getting a little more creative in getting Harton to the outside (hello, toss sweep!) and the tiny back finally got his 100-yard game as a Bulldog.
And Aaron Murray, who was wildly off-target at times and had a middling day overall throwing the ball, did make a really nice play when he stepped up into the pocket before finding Marlon Brown open in the back of the end zone to open the fourth quarter with Georgia’s lone touchdown.
Still, it was the shutting down of the Kentucky offense in the second half and the turnovers forced by Dog defenders that won the day for Georgia.
They’re not all going to be pretty in a nine-game winning streak, but when a team that started out 0-2 earns its way to the Dec. 3 game at the Georgia Dome, that doesn’t matter a whole lot.
This has turned into a surprisingly good season for the Dogs. They have three games left in which they have the chance to make it a great season that might be talked about for the ages.
One step at a time, though. The SEC can wait a week. First, Georgia needs to focus on the Jackets.
Feel free to share your views on Georgia’s win over Kentucky for the SEC East title.

It was a frustrating nail biter at times, but at least it’s a win…
Hats off to Harton, who was impressive, except for the fumbles. Look out, Crowell….Harton hits the line better than you! Kudos to Jarvis Jones, Baccari Rambo and Marlon Brown.
Walsh looked more confident. Murray was off, but hung in there. Russ is a DGD.
Shout out to UK’s Trevathan, who was a tackling animal.
Congrats DAWGS! SEC East Division Champs!

Bill, you and I both know that Bobo still has to TRY to establish the run, and that’s what he was trying to do.. Now, that 3rd and10 call clearly shows me he has very little confidence in Murray…
We’re going to have score more than 20 points to beat Tech..They’ll puts points on the board, even against our D. Let’s hope we score some points. We’re only as good as our QB, which is UP and DOWN..

28 touchdown passes, and counting. Great leader. Gritty runner. Tough. Talented. Sure, he’s still making a lot of youthful mistakes…but you’ve got to be kidding me, jack bull.

Murray was terrible and we need to find a replacement
A QB who was as constantly bad as he was all day needs to be replaced
If Mason isn’t good enough, let LeMay or Nick Marshall step in there
By the 3rd quarter, I was ready to see Orson Charles run the wildcat (Murray would not throw it to him and he was wide open on almost every play)
seemed like Murray was locked on to #12 all day long and he couldn’t even get it to him
BoBo has got to go! He was awful today also. #11 and Bobo definitely had money on today’s game – they could not have been that bad, only if it was on purpose
What was the over and under on today’s game?

Defense saved the day, Offensive line should have been required to buy tickets since they stood around and watched most of the game, Murray looked like he did the first two games and Bobo called a very poor game, If they play like this in Atlanta they will lose their next two games. Running back situation has become critical, Lets hope Crowell will return for Tech.

Perfectly accurate, Bill. Even though I wish it wasn’t. D played fantastic. However, with Clemson being blown out by NC State, and Ok St. losing to I St., we need to remember we will have flat games occasionally. GT’s D is probably tougher than KY’s, so we have to do better on offense. If they won’t play Malcome, then so be it. But, don’t run a 160# back up the middle without holes. Maybe screens, reverses, passes, some other way to get our little playmakers in space. Adjustments on O have never been our strength recently. But big congrats to all the Dawgs and staff. Go Dawgs.

Michael, I beg to differ. If you think A Murray is the man, I’m just not sure what games your watching, my friend…He has the ‘deer in the headlight look’ at all times… I never saw D Greene, DJ Shockley, M Stafford having to look over to the sideline to get his plays.
And we’ve totally abandoned the screen pass and down the seam to the tight-end, which were staples of our offense, because of Murray..It’s really simple to see that..

jack bull — he threw to Orson a few times today. He missed him a few times too when he was open but it’s not like he hasn’t looked his direction. A White got a catch today too. Also, why run the screen when you have no fear of the opposing team’s ability to bring pressure? If UK had a blitz that was something to worry about I could see why a screen would make sense but I never saw an opportunity today for that play.

i guess we just look at it differently. i saw Murray being pressured quite a bit today…and yes, he hit Charles a few times, on crossing routes, not the 25 yarder down the seam that we use to do.. He throws a nice ‘out pattern’, I’ll give him that. but i still think his height hinders him on some throws..that’s all…and when we sputter, like we did today, i’m all for giving Mason a series or two to see what happens..
Good win today!

Murray is our QB…He is maturing and doing a great job. The few mistakes he made today could be attributed to missed routes in the face of a rush. That is what I watched. The defense was solid which is what you need when the the offense has a bad day. I have to admit I am a Bobo hater and think he has to trust more in the tools he has at his disposal than he has in the past. It is a big “W’…that is all that counts. On to Tech and then after that…lets enjoy some Sugar and get the win.

Personally, I am very impressed with Murray. He’s the best QB in the SEC…hands down. He doesn’t even have a star receiver to work with…yet. I think we need a big RB to sign with us in this recruiting class. Maybe a JUCO or something. About 6′1, and about 220. We need a big’un because Crowell gets hurt too often, Thomas isn’t big enough, Harton is a pip squeak…etc. We need a big body in there.
If Samuel can come back for the SECCG that would be perfect. He’s 6′2, about 240 and can work that LSU defense. I just don’t think Crowell will be able to handle that LSU defense on his own. We need a big back to truck it through. I hate that Samuel got hurt on the last play of the FL game.

People need to lay off the fact we beat Kentucky 19-10…ever occur to you that Kentucky came to play? They were fighting for something too, a bowl game. They have a team too. They did come to play but we shut them down in the 2nd half. Us going to the title game didn’t rest on whether we beat them by 50 or not. We’re going beating them 19-10 as we would have beating them 55-0. Either way, we won, and we’re going to the title game….people need to get off Murray. As for our Offense, we need multiple game plans especially if our top rusher can not return. Curious to know exactly what’s wrong with his ankle, just hope he gets a speedy recovery because we will need him. And I just read that Carlton Thomas was suspeneded for this game, if that’s true. Like I said, our defense is ready. You cannot run on them…and you may pass on them for a while but CTG will make adjustments and shut you down in the 2nd half. LSU does not have an elite passing attack. They rely on the running game which we rank top 5 in the country against. I think we can take them. It’ll be tough as heck, and it’ll take our best effort of the season, but we CAN do it.
I think our defense is ready. Beyond ready. It’s the O-line that I’m worried about vs. LSU. We cannot get whipped vs. those guys or we will not win. Our O-line will need to play big boy football like they did vs. Auburn if we want to have a chance. Hopefully Samuel can return and give us that big physical back that we lack. I think we can take them.

jack bull,
I would like to assume that you are just trying to get a rise out of people (like me), but I’m worried you might be seriously believing in the comments you are making.
Do you know why Murray looks to the sideline for the plays? Care to venture a guess? Maybe because we run a NO HUDDLE OFFENSE for the first time this year. He looks to the sideline for plays at the line of scrimmage instead of at the huddle (which the other QB’s you mention did), but they all looked to the sideline for plays! Did you think Greene, Shockley, and Stafford called their own plays or something? And you don’t remember seeing us throw a TOUCHDOWN to the fullback out of the backfield last weekend against Auburn? Do you have amnesia? The only thing I can agree with is that Murray is one of the worst screen passers I have ever seen, but I’ll take all of the positive attributes he has in a QB any day. He didn’t have a great day (with his top 3 RB’s out) but he lead us to a win and that’s all we really want anyway.

@Phillip…I agree. The key against LSU will be if Samuel is healthy or not. He is a beast of a running back and makes Crowell look even better than he is when Samuel is blocking. Sad that he was injured on a play that meant nothing in the long run of things.

In reality they don’t for title implications…but you still wanna beat your In-State rival. Georgia Tech gave up 31 points to Duke. That defense is porous. Their offense will be shut down as well. Todd Grantham will have his boys ready to punch you in the mouth….last season was his first season going against Tech’s offense…well he knows what to expect now. Bobdog, I could not agree more. I thought the same thing in the BSU game. They need to occasionally do rollouts; with Murray’s wheels, that gets him away from the pressure and gives the routes time to develop. Screens in different spots would help. Quick halfback flares would be nice, too. Anything that negates poor line blocking. LSU’s D is unlike anything we have seen.

Happy day Bill! Hi Mark. First I wish to congratulate the Dawgs and Russ on reaching the SEC championship showdown. Nine wins in a row are nine wins regardless of who the opponents were. That being said. If the Dawgs play like this at the Georgia Dome they may as well RSVP out right now. For most of the game it was difficult to determine which team was competing for a playoff berth and which one was primping for next season. My wife asked me what was wrong with the Dawg offense to which I replied they must have been hungover from partying the night before. It was the only thing I could think of which made sense. Aaron Murray was awful. That tiny runner was okay but the fumbles were not. The Dawg FG kicker resurrected back into one of the best in the game. Thankfully since Mark Richt is a big believer in FGs. Terrible playcaller Mike Bobo was on a roll for several games but fell back into a rut with inexplicable inept play calls which left those at Sanford Stadium in a justifiable booing mood. I could not be prouder of the Dawg defense. I could tell after the Wildcats put up their 10th point that the proud Dawgs were determined to close the door at that point. They did. The biggest takeaway of the contest took place right before intermission when a fumble recovery allowed the Dawgs to go into the lockerrom with a 12-10 lead at instead of in a 10-9 hole. Those four FGs were important. The lone Dawg TD ensured the margin was more than a single score. The Dawg offense was not mentally prepared to play against a totally inferior opponent. That is on Richt and Bobo. I have nothing but praise for the defensive coach. The Dawgs are a Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde act this season. I only hope Dr Jekyll shows up in Atlanta. No matter who the opponent is!

I get it, our offense was pretty bad today. Thats why there are 3 phases to a team offense, defense, and special teams. Our offense did suck today but that doesn’t mean they’ll suck next week or in 2 weeks. Let be more supportive. Thank God we only sucked enough to still go to the dome in 2 weeks. Im glad we have a team good enough to win games in which we don’t play well. Now lets take over Atl the next 2 weeks. Happy Thanksgiving Dawg Fans im out!

@ Still@thebar….yes I said Houston. Case Keenum is the all-time passer in CFB history. That would make for a great matchup. However, I wouldn’t want to play them because I think it would be too much like Hawaii. Hawaii got thrashed by us, and so would Houston because Houston’s O-line couldn’t block Jarvis Jones or anybody else in our front 7.
Well, going to go watch the LSU vs. Ole Miss game to view how our (potential) opponent looks.

Dawgs O did not look pretty today. Too many fumbles (ball must be heavy). Sorry, I don’t see us being in the top ten. SECCG could be entertaining or a total disaster. It will be LSU. If the O is still slipping (no running game) we will be like the leftover mincemeat pie and LSU will be the champs.

Nice analysis Stendek.
I didn’t like Harton’s loose grip on the rock, either, but you have to give it to the kid. He gained over 100 yards and often appeared to hit the hole better than Crowell. He almost busted it wide open a couple of times….something Crowell hasn’t done all year.
Hats off to Harton and the 2011 SEC East Champs, the mighty Georgia Bulldogs!

If Crowell goes down and we’re forced to use a 5′ 2″ running back, why not use Brandon Smith more on offense. Bobo came up with a good game plan for NMS when we were down to our midget backfield, so why not quickly adapt back to that plan? Well I’ll tell you why… Mike Bobo can’t think on his feet. In the 4th Qtr. he went back into this insane run, run, run mode with Kentucky only a TD and an onside kick away from winning.
Memo to Bobo: Play to win son, not play to hand on to a game.
Memo to Richt: Stop putting the Governor on the offensive throttle. Put some bloody points on the board and show you’ve got a pair!

The dogs won the East due to the lack of LSU, Alabama or Arkansas on their schedule. The defense has not played a top offense yet. I, and the nation will believe if they can beat LSU. Their ‘best’ games were losses. Safe to say they would have two or three additional losses if they played the ‘big’ boys of the SEC. Seriously over rated….

First of all, gotta be happy winning the East (something we never did with Stafford, Moreno, AJ and company). However, after a really impressive outing against Auburn, the offense completely regressed. Yes, losing Crowell and not having Thomas (for experience, if nothing else) hurt, but Bobo completely regressed into conservative, predictable play-calling. Couple that with the accuracy struggles of Murray and the O-line struggling with protection at times equals a subpar offensive performance and a few years off my life. And I’ve gotta give credit to Kentucky’s Trevathan, that kid is a gamer and was a nightmare for us all day. Defense is without a doubt the strength of this team, but we can’t keep relying on them to pull Bobo and the offense’s tail outta the fire, need more offensive consistency, or the next 2 weeks will be very stressful. Just hope the Dawgs don’t forget that we still have a game to play against Tech, I could stomach a loss in the SECCG much more than a loss to Tech.

I don’t think it pays to put too much into one game, whether we win or lose. Obviously, the last two games show that we can be really good or really average. Overall, our defense it getting better. But our offense is inconsistent. When it clicks, like with Auburn, it’s great. But like CMR says, it’s the turnovers stupid! Today, we just got sloppy with the ball again. This is why CMR doesn’t play Malcombe. He’s said so in previous interviews.
Regarding Tech… truth is, who knows? We could play great, keep the triple option at bay and win big. Or… we could cough it up, fall for the gadget plays and lose big too.
Thus is life watching 18-24 year olds play the game of football.

Completely off-subject, but I’ve got a few Bama friends who are already predicting their return to the NC game. I know the SEC West has still got to get completely shaken out, but if Bama doesn’t make it to the SECCG, I DO NOT think they deserve a shot at the national championship, BCS be damned. Just like the Dawgs were told in 2007: if you don’t win your conference, you don’t get a national title shot. As aggravated as I was at the time, I completely agree with the logic; you shouldn’t be able to leapfrog your conference title game into the national championship. You had your chance in the regular season and you were unsuccessful, end of story.

Warnell Dawg… I wouldn’t beat up on Bobo too bad. Losing our backs like that is going to having a major impact on our offense. We don’t play Harton and Malcombe as much because they have a tendency to fumble. And they did! I don’t like the “run the half out” offense either, but hey… 9 in a row and SEC East champs! Hard to argue.

Anybody think that if we couldn’t get in the end zone against KY, that LSU will let us score. Our D gave us setup after setup, and we couldn’t score 6 but once. Poor execution isn’t Bobo’s fault. They wouldn’t put Malcome in the game, so we get to a point where we really need him, and he is as green as an Oregon Duck. They should have played him earlier. They should have had Mason in earlier against NMST and AU. The backups need to get practice, so they don’t mess up when we need them. CMB could roll Murray out to get him away from the rush. There are many other things the coaches can do. Remember he wouldn’t throw it last year against SC because they played Cox the whole year instead of pulling Murray’s RS and getting him some experience.

I SUSPECT…………You forgot WILLIAMS, RAMBO, SMITH, BOYKIN…….The most talented and well coached defense UGA has had in almost 30 years….hands down. If they beat LSU (and I pesonally think they will), it will be because their defense is better than the Tigers. I know the ESPN SPIN DOCTORS think that LSU and ALABAMA are the be-all, end-all of the SEC. But they have always….and I mean always failed to recognize the fact that young teams improve throughout the year and UGA is a much better team now than they were in August. Not just because they are winning….that’s the obvious indicator, but because they have learned to play as a team….a very talented TEAM. The playbook is wide open when all the pieces are in place. On defense they are as deep as any team I can remember. Offensively they are thin, but if no one else gets hurt, they are a a force to be reconned with. Don’t let the performance against UK foo you. Regardless of the team they are playing, they will rise to the occasion and compete.
About Murray…….I can’t think of a single quarterback in the history of football, that didn’t have an off day. Not one. Even the great Mathew Stafford had similar days. One against UF. If I was picking a team from all the players in SEC to play for me, Aaron Murray would be my top quarterback pick. BTW, any of the defensive players would do.

Our offense looked pretty much how it has all season up until 2 games ago. Murray either has a good game or a bad game, it’s like there’s no in between with him. He’s either hot or cold. Plus, it seems Bobo still doesn’t know how to make adjustments whenever his orginal gameplan isn’t going to work. He just grinds it out like a stubborn child who only sees what he want’s to see.

UGA man here, no troll, honestly think that Aaron Murray sucks as a QB. He locks on receivers, pats the ball before throwing, has happy feet and loves to throw into double or triple teams. The system is fine, but the quarterback is not sound.

Our O-line had trouble blocking KY today
That will be the difference as LSU has a 2 deep D-line that everyone of them will be playing on Sundays
Plus someone has to make sure Bobo isnt busy giving Bill a counseling session during the game that would keep him from calling plays
Today he was working the concession stand
Im hoping George Jefferson has one of his typical INT games that will be the only way I see us winning

Nothing wrong with Murray that a good QB coach can’t fix. Sometimes I wonder if Bobo is watching the same game I am. It appears that he has the game/plays prescripted and calls them regardless of what the defense is showing. And, what the heck is all that “stop and look to the sidelines” crap? Why not just let Murray react to what he sees?He IS a D1 QB, isn’t he? Oh, they saw that in the pros and like long hair out of the helmet, just gotta be cool! I think it has to do with the OLIne in the beginning of the year Murray ran for his life!
The past few weeks been getting good protection and last week our OLine knocked auburn off the line the whole night and Murray looked great and so did bobo…. I went back and watched the game (cause I missed it today) my thinking we looked tired OLine did not open holes and not having crowell or a thamas or a samuels effected our offense Kentucky went after the run game and made Murray beat them threw the air. ( we were one demential ) and our offense needs to be balanced to work.

Not very pretty but the Dawgs are going back to the Dome for the SECCG. If we play like we did today, it will definitely be a low scoring affair like the AL/LSU game was. Still 12 points would have beat either one. Hopefully our offense will return to its look during the Auburn game. Of course, the first matter is to beat Tech – the Dawg’s D will shut ‘em down. Herschel played more than half of the Sugar Bowl with a separated shoulder, and when asked how he did it, he famously replied, “well the ball, it ain’t too heavy”. At this point I can’t even imagine Crowell doing anything even remotely like this. The guy is either as fragile as a case of fine china or is just a p***y – one or the other. Also it really hurt’s when your #1 Tailback get’s hurt on the 3rd running play and your 2nd string running back get suspended for some more dumb s###. When I saw who was going to be our running back’s today I said I sure hope we can overcome 2 to 4 fumbles. These little guy’s can not get pounded on by SEC defenses without fumbling the ball.
Dooley lived with just enough offense , a shut down defense and a accurate field goal kicker and that exactly what won our game today. Great job Grantham, we are lucky to have you on our sideline.

Herschel was far tougher and able to fight through pain an injuires. All the great UGA backs had similar duability: Lars Tate, Robert Edwards, Terrel Davis, etc. Hell, Marcus Lattimore has been tough as nails over his first couple years, playing through all kinds of sprains and stuff, until he actually had a complete tear of his ACL.I just don’t see Crowell being that durable. Crowell is an athlete who, in high school, was gaining two hundred yards in the first half and has had to adjust to a brand new type of athletisism, being the SEC….The ball game he is playing today is a huge adjustment from Carver columbus High!……..although he still needs to grow up, he has the tallent, and has shown it to be a great one………I truly believe that he will pay off in the end…….He wants himself to be great the same as we all want to see him be just that!….After watching Burnette roll up on his ankle today I thought it was an unfortunate, legitimate injury…..Watch him run people and tell me he is’nt giving it 100 percent!…..He knows himself he has all the tallent in the world and I promise, In knowing him that he won’t blow this oppurtunity to make the Bulldog faithful proud……Back off people!

@RAID: fair enough, the “adjustment thing” and all. But that means some folks are far better at making such adjustments than others, and Crowell is not in the upper echelon of this group. Trent Richardson made the adjustment rather well. So did Marcus Lattimore. And Tim Tebow. Etc. Also, he needs to make “adjustments” in other areas of his life. If Murray’s the SEC’s best, the SEC is in big-time trouble. His accuracy is suspect; how many long completions were underthrown and completed only because of poor defending ? He locks on his receiver and makes too many poor decisions on when/where to throw and when to throw it away. Can’t argue with his record this year, but he will be exposed when he plays a top-calibre defense, which hasn’t happened yet this year.

It was a sloppy game. There were a couple of crappy calls in the first half. Kentucky came to play and played the best they could. there coaching staff did a good job. UGA thought they would manhandle them and break all the records. Ultimately the D got it done and the O ate the clock up. No big sin there… It is hard to be emotionally ready for a game after a big win like the Auburn game. But, Tech will upset Georgia If the Dawgs don’t practice full tilt and take them seriously.
UK double covered the long routes. I don’t know why they didn’t stick to the shorter passing routes. Murray did hit his tight ends, and Orson caught 3 balls. I don’t know where some people are getting that Murray didn’t throw to Charles enough. Murray threw a couple of bad passes, one in particular was that awful interception. But he hasn’t thrown a lot of picks this year. Looking over to the sidelines is a new thing. Other teams do it as well. It is part of the no huddle. Murray is still a sophomore.
Hartman (sp?) runs with heart. You have to love that kid despite the fumbles. I completely understand why the coaches were impressed with him last spring. Malcome shows some promise despite the fumbles. The O-line didn’t look so hot at times, especially in the first half.
I hate announcers. CALL THE GAME. I didn’t like them gushing about Georgia the whole game anymore than I liked them gushing about UF or Auburn. Also, I really don’t think that it is an announcer’s job to reprimand players or talk about coaching for that matter. JUST CALL THE GAME!
Tech will beat Georgia if everyone is focused on whether or not we can beat LSU or Alabama and what player can break what record. One game at a time. UGA got another W. Good. Tech is next. Be ready.

Murray made at least 2 throws to receivers that were covered when he had Orson Charles running wide open – 1st time if he hit Charles in the 1st quarter, would have been a TD. In the 3rd quarter he had Brandon Smith out of the backfield and with no one closer to 15 yards from him. Maybe the game was going a little fast for AM then as O line took a while to get warmed up..

Coach Erk Russell used to say 19 is more than 10 so we will take it! The game was not pretty but the win is all that matters to be East Champs. After taking 10 members of my family including 4 to their first UGA game in ‘09 when we gave the gifted turnovers to UK, I was glad we won by any margin. One of my nieces and brother in law were almost as disappointed as me, back then. Everyone knew they would play tough trying to get to a bowl. Considering all the upsets this past weekend, just focus on GT and then we will see who our opponent is in ATL. Anybody hurting in CU, OKS, UO or the other UO? NCS, ISU, BU and USC(West) happy? I have been a Coach Paul Johnson fan since his days at GSU and wish him and his team well except when they play us. I hope the season does not end in a boring rematch of LSU and UA so please give us a playoff like the FCS has or at least 8 teams! 4 top ten teams were upset this weekend. Yes UGA only beat one ranked opponent. Yeah, georgia got the easy draw from the west this season and UF and Ut are down. But, no one talked that crap about UF when they had the easy draw and beat a down Georgia team. Georgia is a very young team coming through some pretty major adjustments over the past couple of years.
I’ll take the nine in a row. Would anyone give them back? Should we decline going to the SEC because our schedule was too easy? NO. No other team in the world would. So, you don’t have a point. Shut up. Get on the bus.

Flat tire, I don’t agree with you often. I do think it is a legitimate criticism of Bobo about not being able to adjust. He is so married to stretching the field long that UK was sending two D backs ahead of every receiver.
I will say though that King had a TD if not for a UK guys getting away with pass interference. I will also say that if Hartmon and Malome hadn’t coughed up fumbles, the running game would have generated better passing opportunities.
In the end, they got it done, but they had best have their arses ready for Tech next week. I think Richt’s seat is still a little warm. The old faithful want to see UGA defeat UF, Auburn, and Tech in the same season more than they want an unlikely SEC victory.

You can also make a case that UGA won the East because Lattimore was injured and Garcia is a lush. You can make a lot of cases, but what is your point? UGA won the East. We aren’t giving it back. No one had these types of discussions about UF. That is the game. That is why college football is so much fun.
UGA won nine straight. That’s awesome. I don’t care who they played. It aint over yet, though. Best get focused for Tech.
Another plus no one seems to mention. UK players were talking a lot of smack trying to get UGA players to foul. They were successful once. UK tried to take advantage of UGA’s special team woes. They were not successful.

Murray bashers….so, is the mighty SEC the toughest division in college ball or not? There are two QB’s in the top 20…Bray of UT and Murray…Bray is ranked 14th and Murray 20th…Bray has missed part of the Ga. game, and didn’t face LSU, Bama, South Carolina, Vandy, and ARK, so it is possible that he would have fallen out of the Top 20…now to be fair, Murray also didn’t face LSU, Bama, and Ark, but will have the opportunity to do so in Atlanta.
Murray has been sacked 23 times (28 td’s/302 pass attempts) and the great QB’s that some of you so covet: Houston’s QB (sacked 11 times/38td’s/421 attempts), Boise’s (6 sacks/35 td’s/337 attempts), Stanford’s (sacked 9 times/31 td’s/343 attempts), OKSt’s (11 sacks/34 td’s/486 attempts), Southern Cal’s (7 sacks/33td’s 404 attempts), Okie (5 sacks/28 td’s/444 attempts…and even Baylor with 22 sacks/33 td’s/336 attempts is protected better than Murray…
Many of these teams don’t even try to establish a running game, but just get big bodies and concentrate on keeping their QB upright…
As far as the upcoming Tech game, well we’ll see how good of a DC CTG is, because the3-4 defense doesn’t match up too well against the triple option…remember last year? CPJ was one step ahead of CTG the entire game…sure we won, but it wasn’t a walk in the park that all you goobers think it was…get off Murray and enjoy the trip; this team may win ugly, but they win as a team…

But, why the assumption that it is all Mike Bobo’s fault? The offense is comprised of underclassmen at the skill positions, we lost our big playmaker last year in AJ, and the offense has still been productive. The two games we lost, UGA scored enough points to win. Time for the bashers to come clean-Bobo can do no right!

BOBO is at fault because when our three best running backs are out and our O-line is off, he runs three runs up the middle w/ our tiny fourth stringer (for a three and out) and then runs our fifth stringer up the middle (for a fumble that leads to a TD for KY). Whoever said that Georgia wasn’t held out of the Championship in ‘07 because they didn’t win the SEC championship doesn’t know what their talking about. Herbstreet and several other were saying that GA couldn’t go because they weren’t SEC champs even though they were ranked ahead of LSU before the SEC championship and LSU had lost their last game of the regular season to a mediocre Arkansas team. Now their all talking about Alabama being in the BCS championship even though they probably won’t be SEC champs. OH YEA it’s ALABAMA! Another mess when it comes to deciding the real champ. If the same criteria is used that was used for GA in ‘07 then Alabama should not go to the BCS cahmpionship if they are not SEC champs. Don’t tell me I’m whining when Les Miles whined his way into the championship that year. Georgia finished #2 in the country with no chance to prove they were #1. Darrell Royal, the great coach at Texas in the 60s and 70s once said, “You never have to explain a win, and you can never justify a loss.” Yesterday was a win that had some warts on it, but it’s mission accomplished, win the East and ticket is punched to the Georgia Dome in two weeks. How many of you that are critical of this team not winning with enough ’style points’ wouldn’t have taken 9-2, 7-1 in the conference at the start of the season? And yeah, I’m high on Murray on QB, I know the inconsistency can drive you crazy at times, but the kid has talent and he throws a boatload of TD passes, we need him to play at a high level in the SEC championship game, because we aren’t going to run consistently on either LSU or Bama, the chance to won the game is big plays in the passing game.

Big Bad John is too negative. We actually won the South Carolina game 42-17. But we felt compelled to give them 28 more points at no charge. A championship is a championship. I don’t care how people rank the East. Just a few years ago folks said the West was the weak sister.
The Junkyard Dawgs are back!!!!! Defense wins championships. Teams used to hate coming into Athens ’cause they knew they were going to get beat up. I hope that aura has returned. Erk would be proud.
But now, it is REALLY time to focus. I do not want to see bugs coming on our boards for 364 days crowing about their 2nd win in last 12 years. Beat Tech. Exterminate the bugs. Stuff that ckicken wing offense. Hit that QB so hard the first time they run the option that we know the pitch man is going to get it after that. Knock him into the lousy seats at the North Avenue Trade School. THIS is the most important game of the year. We cannot go into the Dome to play for the championship of the best conference in football after losing to a mid-level team from the Almost Competitive Conference (which but for Va. Tech. would lose their AQ BCS status). Especially the bugs.

I give the credit of an SEC East Championship to CMR and to our new Athletic Director for holding our players and coaches accountable for their results and their behavior on and off of the fied. Finally, we now have a very disciplined team, as evidenced in our reduction of penalties and in our turnover ratios. Also, our sense of urgency has skyrocketed as compared to last year or the year before, and this fact is very evident when the camera focuses on the sideline and you see CTG chewing tails after we give up a TD on a very short field. Also, CMR has a tremendous amount of nervous energy as compared to last year. You can tell that he actually has a pulse during a game, and I am very glad to see the excitement that this year has brought to our team and our fans. I too have concerns about our inconsistent QB play, but I truly believe that yesterday can be attributed to the RB position, as a large part of pass protection depends on how well the RB picks up his blocks. I would like to give a shout out to the young man for stepping in and performing very admirably by gaining over 100 yards and for taking some tough shots and never quitting. That walk on is a very tough kid. Pound for pound, I believe he is one of the toughest players on our team. I wish Malcombe would step up and take advantage of his opportunities. Nevertheless, it is very apparent that CMR should focus heavily on the OL and RB positioins in this years’ recruiting, as we have zero depth at either position. Several years ago I blogged that I was very frustrated at our recruitment strategy, because we seemed to place too heavy of an emphasis on the skill positions and not near enough emphasis on the trenches. The last two years have been better, but our coaches must continue to address both the OL and DL if we expect to win championships year in and year out. Great job CTG! For what it is worth, I told my son you were the man before you were ever offered the job. Hey Bama’s vaunted defense gave up 302 rushing yards to GSU yesterday, so, so much for Mr. Kirby Smart. Grantham just brings that edege to the stadium that any defense needs to lead them. CTG has addressed the type of personnel that he needed and he has fully installed a very effective 3-4 defense that is arguably one of the best, if not the best in college football. Now, if CMB can learn from CTG and address his weaknesses in recruiting and in making in game adjustments, watch out! UGA will be contending year after year. Please go out and sign a couple of solid backs, but most importantly, sign some hogs up front that has skill and an upside for improvement. I love UGA and I am very grateful for these 9 victories; I will be pulling for you guys very hard for these remaining 3 games. Aaron, come on dude, settle down and go out and show everyone that you are the real deal. If we are to run the table on our remaining games, you must step your play up. Stop playing scared! You appear that you are playing not to make mistakes, and this approach has you on your heels and makes it appear that you are aiming the ball. Go ahead and cut loose, and realize that there may be times when your top backs are not available. Those times require you to step up and take the team and put them on your back. I knew when I first saw you in your first Spring Game that you were the real deal. You have the quick release and you are elusive and have good speed, but you also get mental blocks that prevent you from being at your best. Stop worrying about making mistakes and just go out and play and have a good time, and I guarantee you that the stats and the wins will continue to pile up. CMR thank you for staying the course, and thank you for being a great role model for those boys. CTG thank you for all you have done. You have restored repectability to our defense in a very short time, and I am no longer embarrassed to look at the stats on Sunday mornings. CMB you can do it. I know my previous statement is true, because you have game planned and done it many times in the past. However, you must have a solid plan B and plan C if plan A is not working. This is an area you must improve in and you will be one of the best OC’s in country. Congrats to all of you guys and to your team and keep on working and believing. You guys can run the table! My son and I will be with you as you continue your quest to revitalize our beloved UGA Football Team!!!! God Bless!!!!

Oh yes, Toccoa is absolutely right. We did get the shaft in 2007, and we will get it in 2011. Alabama / LSU are the darlings of ESPN, thus Herbstreit and the gang will lobby like hell for either one of these teams even if UGA wins out. The same rules dictating who plays in the NCG that were used in 2007 will not apply in 2011 if they will benefit UGA!!!! We need a playoff!!!!

We won.
I hope we learned a few things in doing so.
What’s to learn?
Bobo needs to improve a lot, or he needs to be fired. This seems obvious, but one wonders if Mark Richt has a clue. Bobo could benefit by hiring a good peewee coach to teach him the basics of play calling, and how to adjust during the game.
Our head coach better figure this out, and soon.
Our defense is darned good, but we aren’t good enough in any area of the game to dominate if the other phases of the game are entirely not clicking. As bad as Kentucky is, we dodged a bullet.
Our coaching staff (read Mark Richt) managed to have our team in position to win the East. Well – let’s be honest – a very, very weak East, and we had considerable help getting in position to win. That’s commendable, as winning always beats losing (see 2010).
It’s always nice to win, but…
Our coaching staff also managed to have our team somehow come out unprepared to beat a crummy Kentucky team, and lucky to win.
Lucky to beat Kentucky!
We’ll take the lucky, ugly win, but we’d better learn from it.
Fact is Tech will beat a Georgia team which plays like we played against Kentucky. To beat Tech we have to get first downs, and touchdowns, and keep Tech’s offense off the field.
Any West champ will stomp a Georgia team that plays like we played Kentucky.
We are in danger of losing the next three games we play, unless somehow Bobo gets it together, and unless Coach Richt finds a way to motivate his team. Richt does not claim to be a motivator, and who can claim Bobo is likely to be able to adjust fast enough to deal with game and personnel situations?
Do I still think this Georgia team can beat Tech, and the West champ, and win a bowl game? Yes!
It’s not the players I’m concerned about. It’s our mediocre head coach, and his lousy play caller.
There are plenty of years when all the following teams are as good as they are this year, or better than they are this year: LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, and South Carolina. Where would this Georgia team rank were that the case?
Go, Dogs! Beat Tech!

All you arm chair QB’s who think you got all the answers about Georgia ,their offensive coordinator and their QB are really full of crap. Many of you have NEVER even played football or know how to even set up an offensive game plan. If you are true Dawg fans you wouldn’t constantly be on this blog being so critical of the Georgia football staff and their decisions….fact is they’ve won nine games in a row…nine…and have a shot at winning the SEC Championsip. That’s something ten other teams wish they could say.The dawgs aren’t perfect but they play together as a team and win.You idiots who constantly spew your BS and point fingers all the time are either Tech fans,or fans of other teams ….but clearly not true Dawg fans…..if you are please take you self centered BS and go support another team…..we don’t need you!

Certainly, on a day when the Dogs’ offense was again missing its top two running backs, its offensive line regressed and its quarterback at times looked like he was throwing with his eyes closed, the defense was definitely the difference in clinching the division title against Kentucky….
That pretty much sums it up….as opposed to bashing CMB. It’s not CMB’s fault that Crowell went down on his second run and that Murray had an off day. Absolutely tough as nails to have a run game without any RBs. The old saying is true, gotta run the ball and stop the run. Sure, Harton filled in admirably; but no ’starting’ RB available. That alone spells struggle on offense. Add to it that our QB was merely good but not stellar and you have a recipe for making it tough on any offensive coordinator. Perfect play-calling? Not by any stretch. But CMB kinda had his hands tied a little. And the fact that Kaintuck came to play. Great effort on their part.
I just spent an hour looking at articles, blogs, comments for Okey, Okey St, Texas, and Clempsum…and a LOT of those fans sound just like some fans on Dawgs’ blogs; wanting to fire coaches. Amazin’.
All that said, great win…and great to be SEC East Champs! Now let’s get ready for the North Avenue Trade School!

Ok you’re right, Jborodawg — it’s really hard to call plays when your top three RBs are down. That’s obvious. It’s also obvious that when that happens, you probably don’t want to run your fourth string 160 lbs RB up the middle over and over again. It’s called adjusting. BOBO gets paid a lot of money to figure out how to adjust his gameplan…he just doesn’t do it well.

Where are all the experts that didn’t want Murray to do anything but be a game manager? I believe some statements were that you didn’t want him, nor need him, to do anything other then be a game manager! Just hand the ball off, do it the “Georgia Way” and run the ball, and then don’t do anything stupid! Hand the ball off! The boy has proved that he can make things happen in a hurry. The kid doesn’t quit, he gets up time after time, err I mean sack after sack and delivers.
I guess everybody on the team hates him and has no respect for him, right and they won’t make plays for him.
The more you try to show your knowledge of the game, the more you prove that you don’t know squadoosh!!!!!!

Kentucky held LSU to 348 Net Yards, Kentucky held UGA to 317 Net Yards without our starting RB’s, LSU’s Defense held Kentucky to 155 Net Yards, 89 of that was rushing, UGA’s Defense held Kentucky to 165 Net Yards, 23 of that was rushing, I still believe with our Defense, UGA can play with anyone.

I don’t agree that Bobo had bad game. He called plays that had receivers running open on short, medium and long routes. Murray simply could hit them. When they catch one of his passes, they have to make adjustments. He rarely hits anyone on the run. For the life of me I don’t understand why the other quarterbacks never get a look.

Which of the teams ranked ahead of us do you guys think should be behind us? I think we’re ranked about right, in the middle of the 9-2 teams.
Could we maybe, on a good day, when our coaches don’t call dumb plays, and when we don’t drop the ball, beat any of the teams ahead of us? Yes, I think we could.
Would we be very, very likely to beat any of them easily? Have any of them played easier schedules?
Let’s bring them on, and see what we can do. I think our team might be up to it, but doubt our coaches have the moxie, and the right stuff.
If we win out, we’ll be well within the Top Ten by year’s end. Right now, we’d get too big a head if we were ranked higher, and we shouldn’t be anyway.

Bobo is never consistant thats the problem
Just look at the games we played this year and there has been only 2 games that our offense was worth anything against lousy competition
People on here want to bring up no skill guys or no AJ Green. Well AJ Green played in the UCF game and for some reason Bobo didnt utilize that
But hey Bobo did a fine job calling plays in the UCF game.
My favorite was 4th and inches inside the 10 yrd line and we didnt have the guts to go for it
He did a fine job with Stafford Moreno, Mo mass, and Green on the team in 2008 especially when he couldnt call a scheme to get a field goal against them in the first half. FL that year was another great game he called right
You people want to say a win is a win.
Yep it sure is and with that attitude Mike Bobo will continue to not beat a good team
Oh and Les Miles has gone for 4th downs 80+ times. Any wonder why they are probably going to play for their 3rd NC in the Richt era

The AP Poll is a little screwy. How does USC beat Oregon but still trail them in the Poll? How does Stanford rise above Oklahoma State after beating a poor Cal team by 3? Oklahoma St was on the road against the odds of a terrible ordeal and lost in OT. UGA is about right where they should be also, but some voters really lack some common sense it appears.

bilbo799…point taken…except for the fact that it’s not just up the middle over and over. We (Bobo) tried off tackle, sweep, etc. Up the middle is a perfectly good run play IF the line opens a hole. Also actually a good play because those big ol D linemen sometimes have a hard time finding a little guy like Harton. I think most of us realize that the O line has had their ups and downs this year. An INT from the QB and two fumbles from the RBs weren’t CMB’s fault. Just saying I don’t blame him for all our woes on offense and I’m not quite ready to fire him. I trust CMR on that.

Some of you guys need to change your allegiance to some other team. Us Real Dawg fans don’t care much for you. All I hear is how bad Bobo calls an offense, but think about how many OL are down this year, and how well would anyone else call an offense with the 4th! and 5th! string running backs? And after the 3rd string back goes out (for stupidness) after you have your game plan in place. uk wasn’t stupid; they realized we had no running game so they dropped back into coverage and dared us to throw it. And Murray did a good job, although I will admit his deep passes seem to be a problem.
I love Harton’s heart, but that dude is just too small. And Malcolme better step it up in practice this week. He should be starting over Harton. However, I don’t think he can pass block very well. I don’t remember seeing him in on the passing plays. Sort of hinders the play-calling and makes you predictable when he’s in there. Harton threw some pretty good blocks. Might be time for Thomas to go. Who knows? Maybe he’s been the problem from the start. He was around with Ealy and King; maybe their “disease” rubbed off on him or something. Lord, please heal Samuel next week!!
Congrats to the D. Grantham is the man, pulling the team out of the fire like Van Gorder used to. I’m afraid that someone is going to steal him next year. Hopefully he’ll keep doing stupid stuff (choke sign, arguing) to make people afraid of hiring him as head coach and we can keep him awhile.
If our OL can hold together we might have a good chance against LSU (or Arkansas), but I’m really looking forward to the future. Looks like all the pieces are in place to compete for SEC titles the next few years.
Was proud of the way the OL bucked up in the fourth quarter though. Looks like the S&C change is working out well. We’re wearing teams down in the fourth instead of the other way around.
Not even worried about Tech, don’t think their front seven can handle us, even with Harton running. uk’s front seven is FAR better. And I think Grantham is going to be prepared this year, especially with better personnel to put against them.

Georgia didn’t play their best game but still should have scored maybe 10 to 14 point’s more. Instead of blaming our offense I would rather blame Kentucky for rising to the occasion and stopping us. Players like Danny Trevathan , a linebacker out of Florida that was recruited as a 2 star. Thank God he is a senior. I don’t know how many tackles he made but if it wasn’t for his great playing we would have scored 10 to 14 more point’s easily. I bet this gut is a 1st round more worst than a second round draft chose.

Criticize Bobo and Murray all you want and show your ignorance further. Any time your offensive attack is made one-dimensional it allows a defense to sell out. Of course your QB is not going to fare well when there is no major RB threat to concern yourself with. The real question of the day today is; are we now also without a high caliber running back to face Tech? Run down Tech all you want but any reasonable judge of college teams would rate Tech above Kentucky and without a threatening running game in the quiver we barely took Kentucky. Is Carlton Thomas history? Crowell looked comfortable with his spot on the bench. Was it pre-ordained? Samuel may be back for LSU or Arkansas but at who knows what strength. The Tech game is next up and may not have conference influence but it certainly has poll and bowl influence. We can’t go into it with a one-dimensional offense.

It takes a lot more than Jarvis Jones. All the other team would have to do is double team Jarvis and that would neutralize him but they can’t because the other defensive players have their own problem’s with other Georgia player’s. No, the reason our defense is doing so good is because Grantham is teaching them and they are running the 3-4 defense very well as a unit. Not very many missed assignment’s this year.

Nobody on here has been more critical of Bobo than I have. If he was any good as a Coordinator after 5 years he would have had more than one interview to go to a Pro team or head coach at the college level but CMR has made it pretty clear that Bobo isn’t going anywhere by his non action against him. Bobo’s wife is Barbara Dooley’s niece and Mike Adam’s likes him a lot. Surely McGarity see’s that we can do a lot better at the offensive coordinator’s position but with Bobo being one of the best DGD’s in the business moving him to just Quarterback coach probably want happen. So, that means CMR and Grantham’s defense will have to take up the slack.

They are well aware of the difference in talent by paying your defensive coordinator $750,000 per year verses your offensive coordinator only $400,000 say’s a lot. But, CMR is big time into loyalty to his coaches and nothing will change unless McGarity get’s involved and he has already said that he will not have a say in what CMR does with his coaches. It’s become apparent that the only way to get a great offensive coordinator in here is to get rid of CMR and for me that is not an option. I like him a lot and with everything going on at other school’s right now I’m glad we have him as head coach.
What McGarity can do is hold CMR accountable and I think that is exactly what he is doing.

I guess we don’t have much choice, but I cringe everytime Harton gets in the game. He’s so small, that CB can flip him with an arm tackle. If he has to be the #1 RB then the Dawgs have reason to worry against GT and have no chance against LSU. Count on at least two fumbles a game from him. BTW This is no knock on Harton’s desire. He’ giving it everything he can. Just way too small and frail.

Okay. We have a good shot at going 10-2. We have the SEC East title. We will likely be in the top ten come tomorrow morning. We had a starting tailback that is injured again, and his backup can’t obey the rules. Our senior wideout had three drops, by my count, when he was open. Our tailbacks (third and fourth teamers) had three fumbles. The quarterback had trouble hitting open receivers by his own admission. The line, a strength all season, had an off day. This is all Bobo’s fault? I suppose it was also Bobo’s fault that the stadium was only about 75% full at kickoff, and never totally full, for a game that decided whether we win the East outright or not…making it a fairly important game. If So Carolina, Bama, Auburn, pretty much any other team in the conference had been playing for a chance to go to the Dome, the house would have been packed well before kickoff, even with the students’ being gone. I’ve been a Dog ticket holder for 27 years, we have many great fans. We do not, however, belong in the same league as LSU or South Carolina when it comes to fans. Our team and coaches deserve more. Be at the Dome early, and stay for it all!

Agreed, he is small, a touch smaller than C Thomas. He also had over 100 yards on a day the line didn’t bother to block for three quarters, and he’s playing because the two primary backs are A) made of glass and B) unable to follow team rules.
I would like to see what Boo can do, he’s a big strong guy. I’d rather see Samuel back for the Championship (never thought I’d say that) and would love for Crowell to mature some.
IMO, Thomas has been a distraction long enough. Time to waive bye-bye to him.

Yea – UGA has really done something “special” – They only played and beat the worst teams in the SEC – Just look at the combined conference records of the teams UGA beat – and most those teams UGA just barely beat.
Ole Missy 0-7
Missery St 1-7 (only win against 1-7 KY Jellies)
TN 1-7 (only win vs 2-6 Vandi – in OT),
Vandi 2-6 (only wins against 0-7 Ole Missy and 1-7 KY Jellies
KY Jellies 1-7 (only win against 0-7 Ole Missy)
FL Fakers – 3-5 (only wins agastin 1-7 TN, 1-7 KY Jellies, and 2-6 Vandi)
The COMBINED SEC record of these 6 teams is a PATHETIC 8-39. And then top is off with your toothless non-SEC games against the “mighty (not) Coastal Carolina and NMS.
And you dawg fans are HAPPY and PROUD of yourselves for this???

I would like to see what happened to your team if you had to play Arkansas (like SC had to) or AL or LSU. But of course you STILL LOST against SC and were embarrassed on national TV against BSU – who even TCU beat.
But the only reason you guys won the SEC East is because the other teams you beat sucked a lot more than you guys – it’s that simple.

I’m thinking “Frostproof” has outlived his usefullness with the Dawgs. Three suspensions this year translates into transferring to Jax State for 2012. And, I hope we have three RBs coming in next year…IC1 doesn’t look too durable. I hope we can teach LSU (or Alabama) the meaning of respect.

Agreed. I think we have to tie our wagon to Malcombe at this point. Maybe Samuels can make it back for the SECCG. I’m not counting on Crowell at all. This is his first “true” injury and considering the time he has missed with the normal bumps and bruises associated with playing football, I don’t expect him to give us anything the rest of the way. Hope I’m wrong.

Jeff Foxworty is not a College GRAD at all. UGA fans think Kim Bassinger is a UGA GRAD not true. here is what happened to JEFF from his own Biography. You UGA fans are STUPID. i had this same argument over Bert Reynolds on Thur. or Fri…………………..Foxworthy planned to follow in his father’s footsteps by majoring in computer technology at Georgia Tech and working at IBM. Yet he discovered that he gained more enjoyment from making co-workers laugh than working with computers. He eventually quit his job to devote his life to being a comedian. With the support of his wife, Pamela Gregg Grethe, a former actress he had met during one of his shows, he went on the road, laying the groundwork for his later success.
JEFF was like MOST Tech freshmen. they never make it because they don’t deserve a TECH Diploma. UGA fans and Students have no concept of that.

Im very proud of the Georgia Football team. They could have thrown in the towel and felt sorry for themselves after the two loses to begin the season. Sorry we cant win every game by 30 points and the offense has a off day and most people on here want to throw murray and bobo to the lions. But last week everyone was praising and saying all kinds of good stuf because we actually play our best game is all phases. That really goes to how much of a true fan you may be. Every football is different for what ever reason and there are plenty of them. Guys keep working hard at it never quit on a play good luck in your next to games. I for one are very proud of this team win or lose the next two. well only thing i have left to say is LOVE IT UP HERE AT COLLEGE MOMA, SEND US SOME DAMN MONEY

I am laughing harder at the bloggers arguing over famous alumni than I ever have at Foxworthy’s limited repertoire. Famous alums? Really? Are you so disappointed in your own existence that you live associate a fellow alums’ success with your own?
Oh, UGA is the only school to have the Fulbright, Truman and Rhodes scholars in the same year…therefore I must be a genius myself! Yowsaaa !!

Me? I’m excited that we’re in the Dome in a few weeks. I would extend a hearty invitation to the local Tech fans, hoping that both of them would come and enjoy the SEC Championship game but it’s a sellout, which is something that Tech fans don’t know much about.

To all you clowns who think Murray needs to be rep;aced because he was off his game yesterday, I remember in 2004, the Dawgs drubbed LSU, and the following went up to Knoxville, and Greene was as flat as a pancake. He could not hit his receivers, and Tech won the game, which by the way was the tiebreaker for the Division Championship that year. I heard no one calling for his head then, so why are all of you wanting Murray out now? At least he kept working and finally found Brown open in the end zone to ice the game. Brown said later that he ran the wrong route on the play, and had to get back to the right spot in order for Aaron to find him and make the catch. . Good teams find a way to win when things aren’t going just right.

Murray did not look good, but that was largely because UK plays a bas-nickel D, we had no run game, so they were barely putting 6 in the box in the first half, and the OL regressed significantly after playing BY FAR their best game of the year against AUB.

“Am I the only one who hates the BCS?”
Huh? That is like asking “Am I the only one who hates getting stabbed in the stomach with a rusty knife? It seems like everyone around me whole-heartedly supports getting stabbed with a rusty knife. Is anyone opposed to the obviously majority pro-stabbing position other than me?
