What worries you most as the Dogs head to Knoxville?

The poor play of Georgia's offensive line in pass protection is affecting Aaron Murray (Associated Press)

As the Bulldogs prepare to journey up to Rocky Top, what worries you most as a Georgia fan?

Is it the loss of ace pass rusher Cornelius Washington, who might have been expected to apply considerable pressure on Volunteer QB Tyler Bray? Are you remembering how Kellen Moore picked apart the Georgia defense when he wasn’t under any pressure?

Are you fretting about the continuing special teams problems and wondering just what Mark Richt’s going to do if a game comes down to the choice between going for it on fourth down or calling in Blair Walsh and the field goal unit?

Does the fall-off in offensive production in the second half over the past couple of games worry you the most?

Or is it the shaky play of sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray, who threw three more picks Saturday?

Actually, I think most of Murray’s problems, and perhaps even some of the second-half offensive slump, are a result of what worries me most about the Dawgs right now: the poor pass protection by a spotty offensive line that’s overworked because of a severe lack of depth.

It looked to me Saturday like maybe one of the reasons Mike Bobo got conservative in the second half and didn’t make as much use of the spread (where Isaiah Crowell appears to be more effective since he thrives on space) was because he was trying to protect his quarterback with more blockers in the backfield.

In addition to getting sacked a couple of times by the Maroon Bulldogs, Murray was hit hard several times in the first half and he never seemed comfortable in the pocket after that. In fact, a couple of times he seemed so uncomfortable that he hurried passes when he didn’t even have to. Bobo also had Murray rolling out more, which doesn’t appear to help the young quarterback’s accuracy.

And remember the last time this OL played before a really noisy crowd, in the Georgia Dome, and all those false starts? Neyland Stadium will definitely be just as loud, if not more so.

So that’s what concerns me the most as the Dogs head to Knoxville: the deficient OL and the effect it’s having on our quarterback and playcalling.

How about you?

I hate to say this but the only way we win this game is that Murray is on the sidelines……there is no way we can win with his usual play…….remember, this is the dude that made all his fancy numbers against losers……HE STILL HAS NOT BEATEN A TEAM WITH A WINNING RECORD…..

Murray and his interceptions worry me the most. Then Walsh and his kicking inability as of late, along with it being a night game in Knoxville. It could so easily go the way it’s usually been. Hoping for better though, and we have got to contain TB.

I’m with you Luke.

Mason will be wearing Tennessee orange next year. Mettenberger will be playing in Purple and Gold.

Georgia will be winning games all over the place, except in Red and Black.

Thanks Fancy Pants Richt.

It isn’t Murray it is the general coaching and state of the offense. Even Stafford never tossed under double digits INTs a year.

So our main worries are:

1. The guy on sidelines leading the team (because he has lost his edge and looks lost)
2. The guy calling the plays to get points (because he’s the Tecmo Bowl of FCS OC’s)
3. The guy leading the offense on the field (because he has a penchant for giving the other team points)
4. The guy that kicks for points
(because he couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat)
LOL, no Georgia will be fine, riiiiiight.

What a joke.

Other than being in Tenn, nothing worries me. All we gotta do is continue playing great D and run the ball well. Unless Murray goes out and plays Tony Romo bad, Tenn is not that good. It may look like a similar score to the last 2 weeks, but we’ll handle our business.

The thing that actually worries me is this offense which seems to shoot itself in the foot at the most inopportune times, game after game and season after season. We have something going or a player is doing real well and the next thing you know they go away from what is working or pull that player out of the game. Coach Richt and Bobo do not seem to understand except at the QB position that you stay with what is working until the other team stops you.

TODD no wat for UGA not to make it to the DOME.
Florida has @LSU, @Auburn, UGA, and @ USC
USC has @Tenn, @ Arkansas and Florida
UT has UGA, LSU, @ Bama, USC, and @ Arkansas.
UGA has @Tenn, Florida, and Auburn.

UGA has no problem getting to the DOME. Winning in the DOME will NEVER Happen.

I REPEAT….Aaron Murray! He has yet to beat a team with a winning record! He has yet to have a game winning 4th quarter drive! He locks onto his choice receiver from the snap and never looks at the secondary routes! He has yet to win a big game!

Mason should have played the entire fourth quarter last week.
Also, why do we have a 280 pound fullback and can’t make it third and inches?

Skokie Dog

My worst fear is that the score is close near the end of the fourth quarter, and U.Ga. has the ball inside the Vols’ 20 with a few seconds left. (Stay with me here…) Coach Richt sends Blair Walsh in to hit a chip shot, the ball is snapped, then Barbara Dooley leaps up in the crowd behind the goalpost, rips open her blouse to flash Blair, who spits the bit, sailing the chip shot wide right, and he never recovers from this horrible experience. At the postgame press conference, he tells reporters that missing another field goal is “no big deal” (he got that line from Aaron Murray, remember?), but he can’t get the sight of topless Barbara out of his head, so he’s never able to kick again. Oh, and U.Ga. loses by two points. That possibility worries me.

It looked to me like Crowell hurt his ribs again in the beginning of the second half against Miss St. He winced and kind of grabbed at them and then looked like he realized he would be pulled from the game if he let on. He was then out for a while and Samuel and Thomas got the majority of the carries. He came back in but was ineffective and didn’t seem to be running as hard. I think they need to get him more toss sweeps as his speed and his cuts are where he is most dangerous. I’d like to see Samuel go back to Linebacker and give more runs to Boykin and B. Smith as a changeup and give the defense something to think about. My biggest fear is Tennesee dropping the little 5-7 yard passes we seem to have a hard time covering and then breaking one!

Coaching,coaching,coaching..! Or the lack of it when it comes to big games. It seems more and more that CMR just does not know how to prepare a game plan or prep the team , when they go up against the over 500 teams in the SEC. Not to mention the fact that Murray is not too acurate. And by the way, Walsh has developed a severe mental block for kicking ball thru the uprights. Other than that, what could go wrong on old rocky top?

Still@theBAR

SCREWED out of a Title shot? You didn’t play for the SEC title cause you didn’t EARN IT. So, how could the Dawgs play for the MNC? That year you lost to USC and the VOLS. Could that be who the dawgs lose to again as well this year?
