In a complete turnabout from the lame spot for UGA that ran during football telecasts last season, a group of Bulldog alums have put together an awesome new film that will debut during the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.
The 30-second promo is being previewed on a special Facebook page.
The theme is that you may leave the University of Georgia … but it never leaves you.
And it has music by Athens’ own R.E.M., too.
If you’re a Dawgs fan, it’ll definitely give you goosebumps. Time to ring the chapel bell!
UPDATE: For those who don’t know, the song is “Oh My Heart” from R.E.M.’s most recent album, “Collapse Into Now.” On the band’s official website, manager Bertis Downs said of the video: “The enthusiasm of the filmmakers, the resonance of the song in the film, and the band’s love and respect for Athens — those were all factors in our decisions. As alumni ourselves, we’re proud of the PSA and feel the song really complements the film’s emotion and imagery.”

Read Columbus Dawg’s last post and look at the spelling errors, punctuation errors, and sentence structure. Do you understand now why UGA alumni and fans are ridiculed for their illiteracy?

Don’t mind SAWB. He’s a Techie who’s just overwhelmed by the thought that there are millions of UGA fans who didn’t actually attend school there. It’s quite a contrast to Tech, whose football program has 0 fans who didn’t attend school there.

But as I’ve said before, if we lose some games anyway (and we know we’re going to), I’d just as soon they be against Boise and Tech, since both of those will be a big deal to the alumni.
Boise because it’s a national TV spot and to a Mountain West team, and Tech for the rivalry.

No, I am not a Techie, but a long term UGA ticket holder. While I have met many alumni at the games it seems like it is a very small percentage.
If they really want to warm my heart how about images of some guys with carpenter cracks struggling with an ice chest up the hill in the east end zone to sit on the old railroad tracks. How about a picture of drunken fraternity brothers fighting each other all with plastic baggies full of bourbon stuffed in the pants.

Jealousy and envy are powerful emotions, but why get so caught up with UGA, especially since as a Bama fan, you have much to be proud of with your football program at least. Why the need to bash another school? Celebrate your successes, and don’t worry about the Dogs.

UGA has never left me, but Richt left me about 3 years ago. Been waiting on that bell to ring since the Bama beatdown in 2008, and the Tech embarrassment the same year in Athens. UGA tradition will be back in a big way as soon as Richt and his B.S. leave town.

Moondawg i know, but the definition for insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. By that definition, Richt, Bobo, and the majority of UGA fans that post their B.S. on this blog are insane. Also, a history lesson for UGA fans. Dooley won 3 SEC titles, and 1 N.C, and it was 20 years before UGA won another SECC. That means UGA fans and bigtime boosters excepted mediocrity for 20 years. Richt has won 2 SECC Championships, none since 2005, so the way i see it, the UGA fanbase and big time boosters will give him 15 more years of his mediocrity until it’s time for them to get angry. Talk about insanity.

When did you and moonbeam ever really follow the Dogs. If we end 6-7 again its time for a change but the season is getting ready to start we have a new vibe going this year..relax and enjoy the ride it might amuse you.
