Ray Drew is the latest to say he'll join the "Dream Team." (Ray Drew)
Our Chip Towers reports five-star Thomas County Central defensive end Ray Drew announced this morning he’s going to become a Georgia Bulldog.
Perhaps some of those snarky folks who laughed at Mark Richt’s “Dream Team” gambit are taking it somewhat more seriously now.
Snagging Drew is a biggie not just because he’s rated a five-star player, but because Georgia badly needs talent on its defensive line. Now if UGA can get another stellar DE, Asheville’s Jeoffrey Pagan, who recently decommitted from Clemson and is reportedly favoring the Dogs, plus sign junior college nose guard John Jenkins (who won’t announce until Feb 5), Todd Grantham’s 3-4 will be looking a lot more formidable.
And then, of course, there’s still running back Isaiah Crowell, who’ll make his decision public on signing day on ESPNU.
The Dream Team is far from complete at this point. But it’s closer to reality than many ever thought it would be.
Assuming these guys all sign on the dotted line, is that enough to elevate the Georgia program back to the elite? And can it be done in the 2011 season — in other words, are the Dogs likely to actually get turnaround performances from that many true freshman players this fall against SEC competition? What do you think?

We are going to be loaded on the D line if we can add Jenkins.
Look back at last years class and we had 2 4 star DE’s
Add 2 more 4 stars this year and 1 5 star and we are looking at an aggressive rotation on the line and or some hybrid moves of DE’s to OLB a la Justin Houston. This is awesome… 1 down 4 more to go!

Some of these guys are probably ready to play and will make Georgia better. A true freshman can make an impact in the SEC–look at what Lattimore did for SC. My worry is that we’re going to let all this talent go to waste by not using them well and not coaching them up to be the best they can be individually and as a team. It’s all up to the coaches now.

UGA fans, what more does CMR need to do to gain your lost respect and admiration? He is on the verge of having his best recruiting class PERIOD!!! Quite a statement considering where we were 1 month ago. He is shutting down the state of GA and doing all the things we want him to do. Now, the most important question, what will he do with these recruits? Will he coach them up or down? My vote is for UP.

Richt needs to tell every one of his players that they will have to earn their playing time/starting positions. If the true freshman is better than the senior, the freshman starts. PERIOD! That’s how every successful coach operates and CMR should be no different.

Great recruiting class but all those folks saying we’ll be great or elite next year are smoking something funny. History has shown that a recruiting class does not have a great impact their freshman year. We should realistically be looking for marked improvement in 2011 and greater improvement on 2012 IF these guys can be coached up, something which has been suspect for the last few years between the hedges.

Not ALL of these guys are immediate impact players but will all make an impact in 2011. Drew, Jenkins, and Crowell are starters THIS year and likely EARLY in the year. However, the class we are putting together proves one thing more important than ANYTHING. Mark Richt wants it again. I like what I am hearing and seeing right now. If we finish this “Dream Team” like I think we will, then YES it will put UGA back in ELITE status.

If UGA lands Jenkins and Drew and the Pagan young man, with signed contracts, what will happen with Abry Jones and DeAngelo Tyson and Kwame Gathers and Bean Anderson?
I know for a TRUE frosh like Drew or Pagan to be an impact player ( lineman) is tough. Now, I do think John Jenkins will be an impact IF UGA can get him.
Would all of these names be reshuffled and the starters emerging? At any rate, UGA ought o ahve TONS and TONS of D line depth as a result ……………. IF we land Pagan and Jenkins. Wow! This has never been the case at UGA in my 50 years of following UGA ball.
I also love the corner back depth emerging now at UGA with two committs. B.Smith and B. Boykin will have some quality corner back company with Swann and Mitchell. Wow!!

For all the non-believers get off the jock straps. We will get Crowell, Jenkins, Turene or Staley. These cats probably got tired of hearing about their State school and wanted to bring UGA back to the forefront. Will everybody in this class play NO, but we will play(3 starters)at least 8 of these guys next year and i hate it for everybody who tried to talk reckless about them DAWGS. This will be a top 3 class full of talent on both sides of the ball. Ask yourself “why are they going to UGA,” then understand they are representing their state with PRIDE. WAtch the speed we have on defense next year and watch the depth pile up. Everybody needs to stay in their playbooks, stay out of the Bars, work harder than every other team in the country and make these SUCKA NON-BELIEVERS respect the greatness that is about to come out of UGA……..Look at the 2000 Florida St. offense and 2002 Georgia offense and lets get back to the business of dominating on offense. Bobo this is your life and you better make good use of these athletes….Coach Grantham i know you have a smile on your face right now. Assuming all these guys sign on the dotted line, is this enough to elevate UGA back to the elite? To answer your question, Bill, I don’t think we will know that until they play the games. I believe it was the Bear who said, “The best thing about a Freshman is he becomes a Sophomore.” In other words, no one knows what these guys are going to do on the field assuming they make it to the field. I have been following the DAWGS longer than most of these bloggers have been in the world and I can say a lot can happen between now and next September. God forbid, but how many highly recruited guys have come in to the program and had serious or even career ending injuries before they played a down? Obviously your question is hypothetical or you would not have asked it. So, hypothetically, I do believe these guys that have committed (assuming they are everything they are hyped up to be and we all know that is not always the case either), can be difference makers and get the program back to elite status. I have not seen any of them play outside of Drew in the Army AA game, and NO ONE could block him. Will that translate to the college level? I would like to think so, but then again, only time will tell.
Now for the bashers that are sure to arrive, you will say that Richt can’t “coach em up” and so they will only be mediocre. But I remind you that Richt is averaging around 10 wins per year, has won 2 SEC titles and played for a 3rd. So I believe the guy can coach and I do not believe he somehow forgot over the last few years. I have argued before that the majority of the problems we have had the last few years was due to poor execution, not bad calls. For example, against USCe how many missed tackles did we have that allowed Lattimore 180+ yds? Look at the film and you will see the defense in position on many plays, but missed the tackle. Bad call or poor execution? Likewise, against ARK how many blown coverages did you see? I saw at least 3 that went for long TD’s. Also, against USCe when and where did we fumble? Against Colorado when and where did we fumble? I could go on, but you should get the point. Yes, some calls, both offensively and defensively were baffling. But when you evaluate the total body of work you will see a missed block, dropped pass, missed tackle, or blown coverage, that cost us a big play.
Well, you argue, “Richt won those titles with Donnan’s recruits.” That may be partially correct. But if it was ALL due to Donnan’s recruits, then why couldn’t Donnan win big with them? Don’t get me wrong. I believe Donnan was a fine coach. But the best he could do was about 8-4 and not even sniff a title. So, bash all you want; criticize all you want; call me whatever you want (I’m a big boy and I can handle it). In the end I will support coach Richt, his ENTIRE staff, this team, and ALL DAWG sports until I take my last breath.
One more thing: Don’t get too excited about this class at least until Feb 3. How many times have we been excited about a player or signing class only to see some defectors on NDD? Everybody hang loose and remember this football stuff is just a game. While I am an avid supporter and College Football lover, my life does not depend on the signature of an 18 year old kid or his production or lack therof on the gridiron. Lighten up. Life is much too short as it is.

I would love to see the glum UGA hater’s faces on signing day. They live to hate UGA because they are jelaous. If …………. If ………….If the haters are honest, they now have to BOW DOWN to the UGA Brand. Why?
UGA has undergone tons of negatives like the UCF game, another loss to Florida when they were set to be done in and no major SEC wins in several ( 2 ) years and rumors swirling about one coach or another. Right?? We all agree that it HAS BEEN very negative about all that says UGA. Damon Evans and his panty raid, etc.
Well, um, ah, how could UGA land such a fantastic class if they did not have that TRADITION AND BRAND RECOGNITION?? HMMMMMMMMMMM?
Enjoy it now …………..haters. UGA 4th ONLY to Alabama and the REAL USC and PN State in bowl wins. Bama has 37, USC with 32 and PN Sate with 27 and UGA with 26.

Check and see how many UGA players are in the NFL since 2002. We put players out every year and will continue to do so. 3 potential first round picks this year, Boling, Green and Houston. Green was the only one close to 5stars. Caleb King needs 2 adjust his attitude and do his schoolwork, this dude had problems in high school with grades, and Ealey needs to get like Garrison Hearst and become a monster in the weightroom. they are serviceable backs and they can still help UGA next year. #3 and #4 need to lead by example and become beasts in the weightroom, classroom and on the football field.

All this class does is increase the heat on Richt for 2011 to win at least 9 or 10 games.
Johnson on the other hand is losing recruits Tuitt and Jackson and talking out of both sides of his mouth about “honoring your commitment”. I guess that honor stuff didn’t apply when Tuitt was committed to ND and Johnson was begging him to come to Tech.

Grantham is cleaning up in the recruiting. This is an excellent sign because recruiting on that side of the ball had really fallen off. So now you have 2 of the top 5 CBs, a top 10 safety, a top 5 rush DE, a top 10 strong DE coming in plus they are in the lead for a top 5 Strong DE and the top JUCO DT. Add to that, Rashard Samuel and Jarvis Jones coming in at LB from Redshirts, and Grantham has reloaded VERY impressively.

When has the Georgia football program been elite since the 1980 season, the term elite is used way to much these days. How about lets win the mythical recruiting title first, then beat Florida, win the SEC East, win the SEC Title Game, and represent the SEC in BCS Title game, and win that game. Then we will have the right to say our program is elite and join other SEC teams who can say it and deserve it.

GT joe,
This was debated on another blog yesterday.
My opinion is that Johnson has his own set of rules that apply toward any kid who has committed to Tech. Once you are committed, he expects no more visits. That implies that the other coaches don’t entertain the recruit.
Flip it the other way thoug, and Johnson says the rules don’t apply to him. Tuitt had told the ND coaches he was committed. Johnson knew that. Why didn’t johnson say to Tuit “you publicly de-commit from ND and we can talk. Until then, you are ND.”
That is my point.

With this type of recruiting success, if the Dawgs can win 8 or 9 games, be competitive throughout the season, and show to be ‘on the rise,’ Richt will stay. You don’t want to cut your nose to spite your face. But, that will bring the pressure to 2012 to win 10+ games.

People weren’t laughing at that. That happens every year. It will happen again for the next 50 years. People laugh because one, calling 17 year olds a dream team is corny and creepy and two, it doesn’t matter. If UGA lands the top 100 recruits in America they still won’t even win the SEC east.

It is hypocritical for Johnson, given his policy, to entertain a committed recruit. He should have said to Tuitt “de-commit, then we talk”. Otherwise, he is playing by his rules to his advantage only and saying to he!! with everyone else.

Georgia would have won 9 games with either Mettenberger (I’d like to have seen him suspended for 2 games, no kicked off), Mason or even Logan Gray at QB. Murray was simply ineffective against any decent team, went 0-6 against teams with winning records.
3 weaknesses of 2010’s team:
1- poor QB play against good teams
2- poor runing attack
3- poor run defense
It remains to be seen whether Lemay, Ealey, and Ray Drew can solve those problems.
No Jenkins yet, no Crowell yet, no Pagan yet.

Georgia will start out 0-2 but will improve as the year goes on. They will show enough progress with some unexpected wins and some competitive losses to save Richt’s job for one more year. Then, we’ll have another year or mediocrity followed by another year of mediocrity. By the way, do you realize that this “top-five” program has averaged only 8.5 wins over the last 30 years? Where do we get the idea that we are elite? Never have been. Top 25 consistently? Sure. Top 5? Get real !

hypocritical to entertain a committed recruit? Every coach in america does it.
It’s really very simple: if a recruit is still visiting, he’s fair game. If a GT COMMIT is still visiting, he’s fair game to any other team, and therefore not a true GT commit, and GT can’t hold is scholly for him.
Again, CPJ isn’t mad at a coach for entertaining (because CPJ does it too), he’s mad at the recruit. If you say you are a commit, and GT is holding a scholly for you, then don’t visit other schools!

The Dream Team idea/goal was a good one and I think Richt has been successful in pursuing it. But you cannot ignore the following: 1) How many of these incoming freshmen are going to be starters? One or two, perhaps? 2) How many great recruiting classes have we had over the past five years that failed to produce a single SEC East Title let alone an SEC Championship? It is one thing to sign a recruiting class of Dream Team caliber. It is quite another to coach them into a championship team. There is nothing in the record to suggest Richt and his staff are capable of doing what needs to be done to the the “dream” into a reality. And you of all people should be immune to the Siren’s Song of Mark Richt & co.

I’ll say one thing for this class of recruits…..to commit to UGA this year, after the worse season in recent history, with absolutely no recruiting momentum from the year before, with all the negativity this program/staff is wading through right now, puts these young men very high in my book.
More on the topic: I think the real question is what effect will these guys have in 2012, when I think the real acid test for Richt is going to be……have UGA competing for the SEC.
All that is required in 2011 is solid improvement, and that can be done with the existing roster, by solving some identifiable issues in the spring/summer. Any contribution from this class is just bonus. Thier contribution probably have more to do with enthusiasm, than results.

With what we already have plus Crowell and Jenkins and a few more it will go down as one of the great recruiting classes ever at UGA. But that’s just part of the team. Now the coaches have to come around and show they belong on top. CMR needs to get involved in the play calling again unless he hires a co offensive coordinator that can help Bobo when there is a lot of pressure during a game. Bobo should be made recruiting coordinator , that’s where his value is.
Hiring a great offensive line coach is very important and to get a great one from the college ranks or the NFL you may have to make him co coordinator so you can justify paying him what it will take.
Do these thinks and prove to everybody that the DREAM TEAM will not be wasted and UGA could build a top 10 program that will last for years . One that the top recruit’s can’t wait to sign with every year.

Amen brother.
AltamahaDawg: I’ll say one thing for this class of recruits…..to commit to UGA this year, after the worse season in recent history, with absolutely no recruiting momentum from the year before, with all the negativity this program/staff is wading through right now, puts these young men very high in my book. More on the topic: I think the real question is what effect will these guys have in 2012, when I think the real acid test for Richt is going to……have UGA competing for the SEC….”
Amen again. We’re lucky to be having a top 10 recruiting class with all the negative comments from “fans” in these AJC articles/blogs. If UGA had fired all the coaches and/or made all the suggestions posted here, we’d be lucky to have ANY recruits.
Don’t forget Dawgs fans, this is just recruiting; don’t mean a thang unless they pan out and play up to the billing. It is good to have top players coming in; just don’t expect anything until they get on the field. Please don’t talk NC. First order of bidness is beating Boise St.

CMR has stated on several occasions (usually when he didn’t get the player he wanted, like a cry baby) that he “wouldn’t have a player on his team who switches his decision after verbally committing to another school”. Well – once again – we may catch CMR lying again if Jeoffrey Pagan, the No. 4-ranked defensive end in the country, who de-committed from Clemson picks Georgia instead. Let’s see CMR tell BullDawg Nation that he will NOT take Pagan. CMR Lied again.

I think this: A lot of these recruits seem to be talking to each other, making their own decisions yet working in concert with each other. Besides the obvious talent level of this class it seems they have something of a TEAM concept.

Crowell won’t pick Bama because he would ride the bench for a couple of years. Bama already has the top signing class and they say it is way better than # 2 Texas. So, Crowell plays as a true freshman @ Ga. Most of these 4 and 5 star freshman will compete for starting time…that’s why they signed with Ga.

Stop looking at it blindly and be honest. How many of these kids are going to make an impact next year as a true freshman??? While Lattimore did have a HUGE impact on S.C.’s success he was the missing piece. They’ve always had a good D they just needed somebody to take the pressure of Garcia.
The Dawgs need everyone of these “dream teamers” except for Rome to come in and make a difference next year and that’s just not realistic. It’s awesome that we are signing these kids, don’t get me wrong, but we are at least a year if not two away from these kids making a big impact. Not to mention Richt has averaged a top 10 recruitng class over his tenure. There is no shortage of talent in Athens.

There has to be talent and a lot of luck to get to the top. Just look at the last five teams that won and ended up number one in the country and you can pick out at least two or three games that could have been losses. You have to have the talent, but you also have to have a lot of luck to get there. Not saying UGA will ever get there, but it all starts with talent and coaching. Truly believe the coaching will be there this year and hopefully the talent is well on the way as well.

Bill, Drew doesn’t play offense. The class sets up nicely, but only by looking at each unit can you really determine whether you have a dream team or not. If you land Antonio Richardson, and move Chris Mayes to offense, then you can rightfully claim a dream team, otherwise Uga is once again woefully short on talent on their offensive line, and if Bama can point this out to Crowell, he should come our way. Hello, recruits are 18 years old, it is ok to try to get together a rallying cry for a recruiting class. He is more offended by Dream Team that he was by CAM’s many adventures and Auburn’s pay for play.

In 2006, Stafford and Moreno turned into great players. But, NaDerris Ward, Brandon Wood, and Akeem Hebron were 5 star players . And neither of them ever started a game. Fellas, If you were Crowell would you run behind these softies UGA is bringing in? Ya’ll are so blindly loyal you can’t face facts. But for XzavierWard, they’re a bunch of marshmellows. Crowell needs to be advised to take the emotion out of it and go where he’ll be able to run behind the best guard in the conference, none other than Westlake’s CHANCE WARMACK. After Sturdivant and Glenn graduate next year and Harmon loses his eligibility, who’s he going to run behind? Benedict? Against SEC defenses? Crowell knows better than that. And with Joe T. now involved, who do you think “Old School” is going to recommend play, Watts Danzler or Xzavier Ward, if they’re competing for the same position? That’s easy to answer. Crowell needs to be made aware of what goes on over there and come to a real football team, THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE, who BLACKED Y’ALL OUT.

And before you make any other stupid remarks about UGA,s recruiting class, you might want to examine what Tech has gotten so far this year.If tech. is such a hotbed of great football talent, how come none of the top instate recruits have even mentioned tech. as a possibility. Of course you will fall back on the education requirements, but we all know the truth about that as well. My guess is that you will not have to worry about a one point loss to UGA this year or for at least the next three years. Not gonna be even close during this time, as you will lose substanially. The only thing I can not fiigure out about you GT, is whether you are a SNERTF (snot nosed egotistical rotten tech fan) that is actually over the age of 16, or if heavens forbid, you actually attend tech. and really act this childish all of the time. But no matter, you will continue to show your childish mannerisms so I just suggest that all the DAWG fans ignore as I will now do. You are just not worthy of any more space on thisw blog.

Stronger. Faster. Better. Plain and simple. You may grow more of them in GA or FL, but Alabama makes them into champions. Your pathetic sports programs and even more pathetic fanbases don’t even compare to the tradition and history at the University of Alabama. Vince Dooley? Richt? Are you kidding? 1 championship in nearly 70 years makes you one thing: insignificant. You can recruit all of the touted players you want. Have fun finishing second in the SEC East, kids. Easy how2fish, first we have to get some coaches who know how to develop a “championship” type team. It starts with dominant “physical” play on the lines of scrimmage. A “committed” running game to compliment the passing game. Remember, even though we have a “solid recruiting class” don’t forget the type of game, and game plan, we’ve seen from these coaches through the years. I want to be cautiously optimistic, but I’m a realist. Now if we can get the Fridge, I think our chances get exponentially better.

Grantham might be able to coach on defense, but last year made it difficult to judge. I’m confident that a talent boost, even if raw talent, will improve UGA over last year on defense. As much as UGA has already had, the Dawgs found ways to struggle on offense in about half of the games they played.

Recruiting CLASS ranking don’t mean squat. Only thing that matters is plug your holes with big time talent, and get the 2 or 3 guys that can be game changers.
Look at the SEC over last 3 seasons and you see 3 things going on:
1- QB who beats good teams (Newton, McElroy, Tebow)
2- Strong running game (220-280 a game–Auburn, Alabama, and Florida)
3- Strong rush defense (less than 100 a game)
Auburn got above average rushing yards because of dual threat Cam Newton, good QB play in big games at big times against big time teams, and great run defense primarily because of Nick Fairley.
Florida, same story, different QB in Tebow.
Alabama got it done with 2 power running backs, a QB who was his best against the best teams, and a run defense that was stout, to go 14-0.

Well WDE, your team was 8-5 in 2009 and 5-7 in 2008. Those are normal seasons for Auburn. Your team had a good year in 2010 in a down year for college football as a whole so don’t go thinking that your program is that great. Now how many years did Mark Richts teams win 10 games or more? The answer: 2001 to 2008. thats 8 years. Auburns done nothing like that.

Bill, I believe it can be done. Look at Dyer at Auburn this past season and Latitmore at South Carolina. Put Drew on one end, Jenkins in the middle and Crowell at RB, yes it will work. Plus if all the TRUE freshman come in with a mind set that they are competing for playing time then that will elevate everyone performance level. Need two more Jenkins and Crowell. Yes will get done, the team is ready to take back the East and the nation.

WDE types fast and loves to provoke. just ignore him (though i appreciate your comments about our recruiting class, WDE–very classy. you’ve got a great class this year, too, as i’m sure you know). let’s be happy about getting ray drew on board and ignore the haters; we don’t have much to talk trash about anyway.
now, to answer bill’s question: we still haven’t even signed the two players who are likely to make the biggest immediate impact, so it’s very difficult to say. assuming we land crowell and jenkins, i think they — along with malcolm mitchell at WR — will have an immediate impact. i also think ray drew could be effective as a situational player, and that nick marshall or damian swann could conceivably make a splash as returners or on special teams. i doubt we’ll get richardson so i won’t speculate.
does that get us back to “elite” status? hmm, that term is vague. i think the momentum from this class definitely helps, and there is a lot of energy in the program right now. our conference schedule is favorable. i think that IF we stay healthy and IF we land a couple of impact recruits, THEN the ceiling for 2011 is 10 wins and a trip to atlanta. there are just too many questions (personnel at WR and LB, S&C, finding an OL coach) to be able to reasonably hope for more than that.

I definately think we can compete this upcoming season for the SEC championship. Why not? If CMR will just let these recruits come in as freshmen and make a difference then I see no reason. Plug Jenkins in the middle of the defense and it becomes instantly better as a whole. Plug Crowell into the starting RB position and let him haul ass. Drew will be an OLB according to what I read. He could become a starter. See? Each recruit has a chance to make an impact. This class is going to give us depth that we’ve never had before.

if crowell signs, and stays healthy then he will play early, and then more and more as he learns the offense. this is simply because he is eons better than anything uga has at the rb position. jenkins should play alot from day 1. i’m sure they will still rotate at the nose, we will see if he is the starter. the question to me is not so much which freshman will help next season as it is which freshman will help in the first two games? (because that could be the season). it’s a great recruiting class, but they are still freshmen in the sec (boys among men).several of these kids will letter on special teams, and situational packages as the season goes on. several willl be redshirted. i see crowell and jenkins as the only immediate contributors in the two deep lineup. but they could have a huge impact….godawgs

But it appears that pay for play is a habit at allbarn. 93 and coach dye left the team with probation. And yes I know nothing has been proven now. All barners regurgitate the Cam didn’t know answer. He did nothing wrong. We’ll see. After all he is trying to manage Cam’s try outs for the pros and not letting the real agents and scouts handle it. So, Cam didn’t know?? Yeah right! Having been critical of Richt for much of the last two years, I’d have to say I’m pleasantly surprised thus far. He’s worked hard on this class and if he can sign all the verbals and close the deal on his last few targets he will have made a great first step towards getting the program back where it should be. If Richt can do that, keep them out of trouble, make them stronger, and coach them up, he may indeed be able to turn things around. Bottom line I’ll just say this. First the first time in a long while I’m feeling it! Now if we can just convince Big Ralph to move to Athens, I’ll be downright giddy!

WDE needs a date somebody please help him. We have had enough of him tonight.

SanDiegoJackett,
We could loose our first and 2nd string and still beat your crappy program. Your on the wrong blog to be trying to talk smack. Come to think of it I don’t think there are many division one schools you could run your mouth to. Nice try though, you little Tech fans are funny.

I doubt any of these “Dream Teamers” will see action on the field this year except the practice field. That is the way Richt handles the program.
Really??You do realize Renny Curran,Orson Charles thats just to mention a couple who were starters as true freshmen,Matthew Stafford the list could go on and on.

Tech Fans – How can you get on here and say anything negative when UGA owns you on the football field the last ten years. Richt may not can coach, but he can definitely beat GaTech each year.
Go Dream Team – UGA Rocks – Richt with his non coaching ability has had a better won loss % than Hall of Fame Dooley….He has had a team finish number 2 that should have been allowed to play after New Years for number 1 instead of playing Hawaii.

What’s this coach them up talk ? 5 years ago we never heard this tactic. You get enough quality self motivated players, you will have a great team. I don’t think Hershel, Jake, Knowshon etc needed to be “coached up” Another excuse for not evaluating the hunger of players.

Tman,
A team suceeds when you have a leader, not just a bunch of self motivated players. Not exactly sure what you mean about evaluating the hunger of the players. You could take 85 super 5 star players and not win a thing, if they do not have a leader. That’s why they call it a team, I.E. team work. It has worked pretty good for the military, since long before there was anything such as organized sports. Shoot, sometimes, although in much rarer cases, it almost work in our government as well.

Let’s add Crowell, Pagans, Jenkins and Richardson to our Dream Team. We need Vaughters, Dickson and Turene to also join us in Athens. We can sign 28 and two count against 2010 totals so we can have all of them sign. Go Dawgs!

Tman coaching them up has nothing to do with motivation. However a lack of quality coaching can lead to less than optimal results. See our last two seasons for example. We had the talent .. we just didn’t coach or lead it very well

UF senior cornerback Janoris Jenkins cited for pot
By Robbie Andreu

Florida senior cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been cited for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana by Gainesville Police.
Jenkins received the citation after officers observed Jenkins attempting to roll a cannabis cigarette in the bathroom of a downtown night club (Status Nightclub) on Saturday night.
The possession charge is a misdemeanor. Jenkins was arrested, but he signed a notice to appear and was released. He has a Feb. 17 court date.
Jenkins is the first UF football player to get in trouble with the law under new coach Will Muschamp. There were 30 arrests of UF players under Urban Meyer (2005-10).
“We are aware of the incident with Janoris Jenkins and will handle it internally at this time,” Muschamp said Monday.
Jenkins recently announced he was returning for his senior season after considering leaving early for the NFL Draft. Some were predicting he would be a first-round pick. He underwent shoulder surgery at the end of the regular season and has not been able to work out.
This is Jenkins’ second arrest since he’s been at UF. In May 2009, he was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of affray for resisting arrest without violence. Jenkins claimed self-defense, saying he was trying to protect himself during a group altercation downtown. He said someone he did not know tried to steal a chain he was wearing around his neck.
The State Attorney’s Office dropped the affray charge due to lack of evidence. He signed a deferred prosecution agreement and his record has since been cleared of the charge.
Meyer suspended Jenkins from the 2009 opener because of the incident.

CMR is back to his bag o’ tricks. “Dream team.” “We have a top tier recruiting class.” And on it goes. I’m waiting to see the arrest reports start like past years. Then the excuses. All of this to delay the inevitable. How much is riding on this dream team? Millions…………
