I am a die-hard UGA fan and can honestly say this team and coaching staff is the biggest joke I have ever seen. They play with no heart or smarts AT ALL…EVER..and they are in the worst position of ANY SEC team going forward. Teams make needed CHANGES (just like Tenn, UF) and until UGA realizes this– they will continue to be a joke. CHANGES! ADJUSTMENTS! Do UGA coaches know what this means?? If I am a recruit born and raised in Georgia, NO WAY IN HELL do I even consider going to this lousy program. Recently, it’s a place to go if you want your abilities to go down the drain and hopefully you can still get drafted and have actual coaches coach you up. This isn’t all about the coaches either, the players have less heart than any other team I have watched this bowl season. I am always one to support but this has almost become comical. Richt just sits there like he could care less — I could care less what his overall record is, he is a joke and they will continue to be terrible until CHANGES are made. Thank god it’s the off-season!

Some random thoughts as I sit soaking wet in my Memphis hotel room:

I’m going to end up driving 800 miles round trip to see UGA kick two field goals?

I knew when we kicked the first field goal instead of going for a touchdown on 4th and inches that we would lose the game.

I like how A.J. mailed it in. He didn’t even try to catch a pass thrown more than 6 inches away from his body. Good riddance.

I don’t know what Murray’s problem was, be he looked terrible all day.

We run the ball on 1st and 25? Really?! That alone should get BoBo fired.

Why do we need another year of the CMR regime, when the handwriting has been on the wall for some time?

I’m completely and utterly embarrassed by our performance. McGarity, suck it up and make a major move.

One of our crime-prone not-so-smart players (Caleb King I’m looking at you) should go slap Stacy Searles right in the mouth. I wouldn’t bother studying to stay eligible just to run behind that set of turnstyles either.

Our O-line cannot even scratch the varnish on their helmets unless they fall over their own fat butts and bump a rock on the field.

That was one sorry performance by the offense. Murray played poorly and his teammates didn’t help matters. Even AJ Green dropped an easy pass at the end of the game. I agree, the chop block by Sturdivant was horrendous. The play was completely on the other side of the field.

As to the decision to kick the field goal in the first half, it was a standard approach for most conservative coaches. You take the points when you have the opportunity. Especially after a lengthy drive. On the other hand, it pretty much sums things up that we don’t have enough confidence in our offense to pound the ball for a first down. We showed no imagination in the game from our offense. The game was boring.

One comment on the season: we got screwed by the NCAA on the AJ Green penalty. Given the outcomes of other NCAA violations, there is no way, AJ should have been suspended for four games. Two would have been appropriate or three at most. I hope he takes the opportunity to redeem himself with UGA fans by coming back for one more year. He is one of the all time greats and we will miss him.

Thank goodness this dreadful season is now finally over. Things WILL be better next year; they have to be. If not, well, the answer is clear (and will go unsaid here).

Congrats to UCF. Jeers to the puppies. UGA is an embarrassment for the SEC. Everybody in the conference was sad to see UGA beat GT and become bowl eligible. 6-7 is an embarrassment! I am so glad Coach Richt is staying. Can’t wait for the annual butt kicking in Jacksonville.

Last Monday after Tech lost there game, a uga fan came on a discussion about how Tech needs to change things and made a commit saying .. I know we’re bad but at least were not that bad losing to a team like Air Force. After reading that commit, I replied back and said you haven’t played your game and you could have the same record we do; so be careful what you say!!!!!! NOW I’M SAYING…I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!! The only thing that you’ve done; you beat us by..( really just one point).

When our top receiver gets hit out of bounds right in front of our coach (no flag), and all Richt does is put his arm around the ref to talk nicely to him- you know he’s lost the fire. Richt is a good coach and recruiter, but we need to “outsource” the passion. Ideas?

Richt should be fined $500,000 for gross incompetency for calling for the field goal on the first drive rather than going for the first down on fourth & inches at the 2 yard line. That one call set the tone of “playing not lose” rather than playing to win. On second thought, make the fine half his annual salary.

Kicking the field goal set the expectations for the offense and they managed to live up to them.What a vote of confidence sent by CMR.Even Lou Holtz was saying it’s time for a change on offense.Very disappointing seasons for both major in-state schools.Hopefully 2011 will bring improvement.HNY.

I am 66 and went to my first game in JAX in 1944. This is the most disappointing team I can ever remember. How any of our players can get drafted is beyond me. One the one hand, I want them out of there, particularly the sorry line. On the other hand, I think Green and all the others need to man up and announce that they have let the school down accepted scholarship money that they did not earn and are all coming back for another year to get it right. As sorry as I am to say it, if I am McGarity, I face reality and fire Richt. This is not just a college football failure. This is deterioration at a high level. At least Texas can look forward to a #1 recruiting class. Crowell should come to UGA and start Day One.

I have stuck by CMR all year, and I would be happy if things could have worked out to keep him here for a long, long time. However, the situation with the program has devolved to Goff level performances. Lack of leadership, lack of inspiration, and lack of success. First, Mike Bobo has to go or be demoted immediately. I don’t mean in a month; I mean on the flight home. Second, CMR really needs to decide if he is in it to win it. Going for a field goal against a conference USA team on the one yard line is a joke. Lastly, it is time for the offensive line to get some coaching. Five years ago, I thought CS was awesome. Now, I am convinced the O-Line is the most disappointing part of a horrible season.

Coach Richt needs to go. Giving him another year is just delaying the inevitable. If we do have any talent on that roster, he and his coaching staff cannot possibly be expected to suddenly figure out how to develop it. It would be best for everyone involved if we just go ahead and take our medicine now.Get Kirby Smart, Harbaugh, somebody and let’s start over. I have a feeling that today’s loss pretty much sealed our fate with guys like Ray Drew and Isiah Crowell anyway.

Oh, and Marcus, please shut up about Aaron Murray. Yes, he played poorly today. But he is not the reason that UGA is 6-7 this year.

The Dogs looked uninspired and down right out-manned on offense. This team is better then their record but 6-7 isn’t the norm and disappointing. UGA must do something about offense before next year or it will be Coach Richt’s last. Simply pathetic offensive display. Players looked lost and completely unprepared. Offensive line couldn’t put a hat on anybody. Running game was pathetic. D was ok.

Bill serious question, did Bacari suffer a concussion in the GT game. Remember when he made a big hit and tried to run back on the field and fell flat on his face? If he did have another concussion when is he going to be recommended to hang it up? The kid tackles scared on 50% of his opportunities. Plus some major health risks

I feel bad for UGA. You can see that UT, ARK, UA, AU, SC, KTY, MISS ST, are all on the rise while GA is falling apart. I just don’t understand it. Is it as simple as the former D coordinator at GA was just that good? GA D improved this year but their O line and RB play is just putrid. 4th and inches, at the opponent’s two yard line. If the coach has so little confidence in his offensive scheme, and offensive players, that he can’t go for a first down, or the touchdown — well, that speaks volumes. Richt apparently has little confidence in his offense, or his OC. Why should anyone have any confidence in him? Why would heralded recruits want to come to a program where coaching is sub-par? 2011 will open with losses to Boise St and South Carolina. Georgia football is a sad affair. The decline continues with no end in sight. The shot of Kris Durham crying after the game is iconic now, and represents our status in the football arena. Thank goodness it’s just football.

Not blind enough to actually think we lost the game in the 1st qtr because we didn’t go for it on 4th and short. We are a play or two away from winning every game this year. Our offense has been dynamic all year and Todd has made tremedous improvements with our defense from game to game. If I were the AD I would be considering contract extensions not a firing.

UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!! This performance was a disgrace especially in the fourth quarter. I think I just jumped on the fire Mark Richt bandwagon. Something is terribly wrong with our game preparation and seems CMR doesn’t know how to prepare this team for four quarters. I’m sick of hearing FINISH THE DRILL, this bunch doesn’t have a clue. I really don’t think things are going to be any better next season. A change is needed now. I hope McGarity can see this before we waste another year.

Richt is SET financially for life after 10 years of spectacular salary at UGA- so No feeling sorry for the “nice Guy”. Not to mention the contract buy out! Move on NOW, why make the program so unattractive to a decent coach with another bad year in 2011 just to save some buy out $?
Bobo is way over paid for his lite experience, and average results. In this economy, this work performance really stands out as a huge failure and makes those working with great experience and results that are underpaid because of the economy angry.

We have all the 4 and 5 stars yet cannot beat a team that’s lucky to get one or two 3 stars a year. Most of the stars come in wanting to know what’s in it for me. No team mentality.

The DB coach is not doing much better.The Buck stops with Richt. It Is now time for to totally revamp the entire coaching staff. This is a complete 180 degrees about face for me. With due respect to the loss to GT, 08, & to Col. this year, The loss to UCF is the worst loss & the most unecessary loss during the Richt Era. No way were they even close to being as talented as the Dawgs. The Dawgs were rested & healthy & should have slaughtered UCF. It Is now time for a change.

My question is where does Georgia go from here. Who could possibly be the right guy?

Jon Gruden – No way in the heck he would come to Athens

Kirby Smart – This would be a gamble but could turn out good since he has the Saban’s blueprint. Yeah, he has never been a head coach but Dan Mullen wasn’t either when MSU came calling and we all know how that’s turning out.

Chris Peterson – The whole Dan Hawkins fiasco at Colorado scares me but didn’t we lose to Colorado?

Dan Mullen – Now this would be a huge change to his spread offense.

Brain Van Gorder – He would really bring defense back to Georgia. Look at how pitiful they have been with out him. Not to mention the success the Falcons are having this year.

Jim Harbaugh – I think he is seriously the next Michigan coach.

Mike Leach – I like Leach’s offenses, but he doesn’t care too much about defense.

Derek Dooley – This would be a dark horse in my opinion. Derek Dooley didn’t do too bad if you ask me for his first year at Tennessee. You have to consider that the players on his team have had THREE head coaches in three years. He was robbed of the LSU and NC game. He did much better with Tyler Bray at quarterback. I think Tennessee will win the east next year or finish at least in second. I think Dooley would be good for Georgia because he is someone that is young as has fire in him. He also grew up in the Georgia family and has passion for the Dawgs, something CMR simply does not and will not have.

Totally Embarrassing. Time to replace Ritch or I would assume no one will be watching the dawgs in the future. He is not the 7th highest paid coach in the country to be leading us to no where. I have no confidence in his passion or ability to lead the team. Time to clean house and start over. Tech fans are sure consumed by UGA. At least we went to Shreveport last year and won. You need to worry about your own pathetic program. You guys have a losing season this year too and it doesn’t even seem to bother you. Instead you take the time to come on a UGA blog and try to bash us. What the hell did we have to lose even if we didn’t make it? It’s not like we were playing for anything that mattered. Richt was showing absolutely no confidence in his team. I highly doubt it is for the lack of funds, but if so… I will gladly step in to fill Mike Bobo’s tiny shoes next year FREE OF CHARGE. Blind I am, but even a man at such great disadvantage can put together an offense with more dimensions than Bobo. True, I am advanced in age, but my war stories will inspire more passion and fire in these kids, something that is desperately needed before we can call ourselves a team.

In a traditional sense, insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. In my sense, it is defined as allowing Mike Bobo to run our offense. 1st and 25 is not a time to run. Statistically, you have better odds of winning the lottery three times in a row. On the flip side of statistics, 4th an Inches is a very safe bet, but we have decided to settle far too many times this year. It shows ZERO confidence in 11 of your players and that sticks with 20 year olds far longer than one play. We lost the game at that moment.

As one Christian to another, CMR please stop using our program as a testing ground for unprove/untested OC’s and DC’s. Top flight programs are the destination of the top coaching talent in the nation, not the leaping board. It is time to bring in an offensive genius… if Weiss was/is available why was the call not made by us???? Why are we always looking back saying what if or why not? We have the talent, we have the facilities… now we NEED you to do what is right – Hire the right coaches for us to succeed or step down because you are unwilling to do so.

I’ve always been a huge Mark Richt supporter, and still am. But even I have to question not going for it inside the five yard line on 4th and inches against a defense that hadn’t slowed you down the whole drive. I think that sucked a little juice from the offense and probably made them think that the coach had no confidence in their ability to get two inches. But that was only one mistake for Mark. It’s up to the players to perform, and for the rest of the game, they had plenty of chances. Games aren’t won or lost on one mistake. There is 60 minutes of play and each team gets ample opportunity to make plays. Give credit to UCF. They had nothing to lose and were ready to play. One other point that I think Georgia has to improve on…You have to get the ball to your best player. And that didn’t happen tonight. A.J. Green has to get the ball. He has to. Throw to him. Throw to him. Throw to him. Go deep. Do something. But get A.J. the ball. Very disappointing. I give Mark one more year to turn it around. But even I would have to search for a coach if things don’t get drastically better in 2011.

I am very disappointed with the outcome, but all anyone is wanting to do is fire Coach Richt. He has the best record of all the past coaches at UGA in a 10 year period. Yes we should of gone for the 1st down, it could have set the tone for the game. We DO NOT have a true stud RB, our OL had flashes of success but it was not what it was suppose to be. No matter what all the so called coaches on these blogs say about our defense, it did show improvement in certain areas, against the run it was very BAD. In order to have a good 3-4 you have to a 350lb NG & 2 or more 300 plus tackles. There does need to be some changes, OC is a good start. But if the OC is gone, who could and/or get. Also I would like to talk about noise(less) at Sanford stadium, in the 70’s & 80’s opposing teams did not want to play BETWEEN THE HEDGES. Now they look forward to playing there, NO NOISE. I started going to games in the early 60’s & went to school there in the 70’s, with less seats in the stadium it was louder than it is know. Our players feed off the noise, it gets the coaches pumped & the recruits hear it & they want to play in Athens. Other schools in the SEC make a whole lot more noise then our fans do. All our fans want to do is complain about CMR & our players. Well I hope Coach Richt is back & I am ready to get hammered about my comments.

UCF Grad, Dawg Fan here…bitter sweet game for me. O line really blue it allowing two back-to-back sacks by THE SAME player in THE SAME SERIES! Aaron Murray….you’ve gone all year WITHOUT wearing gloves….DON’T START IN A BOWL GAME! Who on the coaching staff thought that was a good idea? Washaun Ealey has not legs…the boy can’t keep his motor running and doesn’t have half of the balance Knowshon did. Defense played a decent first half, but were man handled in much of the second half. The 2007 or even 2008 UGA team would have hosed this UCF team.

I’m glad we lost. This way it forces the weakness of the program into the spot light so substantial changes have to be made. I hope those changes occur and next season is drastically different. Go Knights! But more so….GO DAWGS!

Bobo’s game plan was again exposed when he ran 3 straight times in the 3rd and punted, then passed 3 times taking a grand total of 10 SECONDS OFF THE CLOCK on another.

We’re in a hell of a situation now with the apple dumpling gang for a coaching staff, an annually underachieving and undisciplined (and I might add coddled) football team, a Georgia fan base seemingly content with mediocrity, and our hope of signing targeted and much needed recruits quickly fading. Next season, unless there are major changes, will be a disaster. I can’t take another season like this. For the love of God McGarity make a change now. Richt must go and the sooner the better.

Everything you said is on the mark. Our kickoff receiving team also allowed a TD on the opening kickoff– thankfully called back. B. Smith ran a kickoff back what– 5 yards? Trinton Sturdevant was guilty on the chop block. Demarcus Dobbs was offsides– twice! Rambo stood there while a UCF RB ran right by him on one play. Murray and those gloves– what’s up with that? He stunk it up after the opening drive. Too bad CMR had NO backup QB.

Richt HAS to go NOW! I enjoy hearing my pastor on Sunday but I don’t want to pay $50 to watch him coach football on Saturday!

Dawg fans are about as smart as Bobo’s play calling. Just think, if Richt goes for the 4th and inches early in the game, and, UGA wins on a last second field goal, then, Dawg fans are claiming they are #1 and have turned the program around by beating O’Leary’s Knights.

Dawg fans then claim, they will beat Boise State to start 2012 and win the SEC thus play in the BCS National Championship game. Then, Richt can land a lifetime $10million a year contract.

in the “big picture”…football is a passion, but, really-let’s face it-long term, the emotions of short-term losses, failures, etc. fade away. I do not excuse the total destruction of our once heralded program.

Years past, we had lesser talent who played with more passion under the leadership of passionate coaches. Think about Dooley/Erk Russell teams: often lesser talent, but more passion from players who didn’t need to be “baby sat”. I dare say, sometimes teams win in spite of their coaches. During Mark’s earlier years this was the case because he inherited good players.

What UGA needs now is a “George Patton”, kick *** field General, not some arm-chair Washington based bureaucrat who really doesn’t understand that we’re in a “war”. We don’t need any “community organizers” to lead our “troops” while we’re under siege…think about it..

Our institutions of “higher learning” are now nothing more than an integral part of the social engineering machine which attempts to fix the symptoms and not the problem. Let’s be honest…follow the money; after all is said and done, “the root of all evil, is the love of money”.

Richt appears to be doing things to make it easy for McGarity to fire him. Why would you drive 95 yards and settle for a field goal. It was the 1st quarter in a meaningless game. If you are a top recruit, be honest, would you commit to this disaster of a program. This decision needs to be made now and not after next year. If we have to start over, lets get it done now to prepare us for the future. They had four weeks to prepare for this game and it looked like they started preparing on Thurday.

I am afraid that UGA hurt it’s recruiting very bad last night. The 4th and inches field goal would tell any recruit, what kind of coaching to expect on the offensive end. I have a lot of respect for CMR as a man and he used to have good judgement, get fired up and be an inspiration to his players. Now, I believe, he really would like to be terminated from his head coaching job as he knows he doesn’t have that fire needed anymore. No person in thier right mind is going to walk away from 3 million a year, no matter his desire, or motivation. It is up to the Athletic Director to make the change and we just have to eat up the pay out money. If the situation continues as it most likely will, he will lose a lot more booster money than the payoff he would pay to let CMR go and hire a new coach. One has to question keeping CMR, in keeping his OC alone, but when you see a coach not even able to get fired up, in a bowl game, no matter it’s importance, you can feel it is time for a change. Do you think that the team feels any confidence in the OC, much less the head coach sticking by him? Most of this teams problems can be attrbuted to poor conditioning, poor offensive game plans, uninspired coaching, and poor discipline. If there are no changes made soon, this year will look like a success compared to what is in store for next year. I am a UGA fan till the end, but I was kind of hoping the end would be when I kicked the bucket; Not while I was still alive and watching my dogs play like the end was already there for them. Come on folks in the Admin. of UGA, I am 62 now and want to see a good UGA team before I go. It is a good thing I have many more interest in life than football played by my team. Would be a very long year if not.

I know last night was a heartbreaker, but cheer up, there are some things for dawgs to celebrate this season.

1. A drunken, whoring athletic director.

2. Twelve players arrested.

3. A player suspended for violating NCAA rules.

4. Winning the Fulmer Cup for the most players arrested.

5. Winning the title of #1 party school (i.e., the most drunken student body in the USA).

6. A sleazy assistant coach who razzes opposing players, unethical coaching conduct in violation of NCAA rules.

7. A super sleazy head coach who thinks he’s a saint, but recruits thug wannabes, gangbangers, and illiterate morons.

8. A 6-6 record despite having a team full of 4- and 5-star recruits.

Really something to be proud of!

I watched the game on TV like most of you. UCF was playing the game with passion. UGA showed up and played.

This is the exact thing that happened to GT against Air Force. AFA played with a passion and Tech just showed up and played.

And that is about how both teams played this year, just showed up for the game and played. Fulfilled the contract, so to speak.

Tech’s problem is not enough really talented players. And when a team with average players just shows up, a loss occurs.

Georgia’s problem is a really talented team that plays with little passion. We all know UGA should have beaten South Carolina, Ms State and Florida this past season. But they did not.

We all know UGA should have run the table against its non conference opponents. But they did not.

Auburn was a better team than UGA and that loss was a given. But no other loss by UGA should have happened. But the losses happened.

If I had the answer I would right a book and retire a millionaire. But I do not have the answer.

Right now Ala, Aub, Fla and LSU are the cream of the SEC crop. UGA is in that mid-tier group of KY, Ms State, SC and UT. It appears KY, Ms State, SC and UT may be moving up. I cannot say that about UGA this morning. They appear to be on the way down.

And I find that sad.

Has Beens – Some here would say I’m not a true fan because I want MR fired.

As long as MR is at UGAG Georgia will win Nothing! That is nothing more than a Fulmer cup championship.

How sad that the team I have rooted for since I can remember has stooped to such a level of non-relevance. Even during th Goff years there was excitement and imagination. Now theres Nothingness as far as the eye can see.

I think its great that UCF came out and played their hearts out and won. To all you boneheads, thats how its done by a real HC. O’Leary got his team ready to play and play they did. Give credit where credit is due! Whens the last time you saw UGA play with that much heart and passion? I say not since Pollack and Greene were here, and they were recruited by Donnan.

I am boycotting next season and every season after that until we hire a NEW Headcoach.
We are embarassing to watch, and I will gladly use my time on my Saturdays to enjoy other activities, golf, camping, fishing, etc.
And to the yahoos who keep ranting about “We run this state”, you are a total embarassment to our University.
When you beat your rival, GT, in football, you shake hands and walk proudly with your mouth SHUT.
George O’Leary did us a HUGE favor by beating UGA yesterday; blessing in disquise.
Now Greg McGarity needs to step up to the plate and hire a new headcoach, NOW, not next year.
Coach Richt has been a great coach for us and we owe him thanks, but his time has come…

I give UCF credit for the win. They don’t get the recruits that UGA gets but they play hard and with passion.

UCF likely would have won the BE this year and played OK in the Fiesta. BE had only 1 team ranked WV (# 22) and that was before their loss to NCSU.

You see, the difference is this. Tech and UGA finish their seasons with the same record, but Tech fans have hope that their coach can actually turn things around. What did Spurrier always say? “He gets all these 5-star recruits, but doesn’t do anything with them.” Imagine what CPJ could do with those 5-star recruits!

Thuga had no business being in a bowl game with a 6 and 6 record in the regular season. One of those wins was against Idaho State, one was against Vandy, one was against the Vols, and one was because Tech’s field goal kicker missed an extra point. same problems for 4 years now. The team looks alot like the Alabama team under Mike Shula, flat with no emotion or sense of urgency. Always on there heels waiting for someone else to make a play. Time for big changes cause it’s not about to get any better.
Also, Bicarri Rambo is pathetic and that offensive line is clueless, weak, unathletic, and absolutely got manhandled yesterday. Georgia nation better get ready cause allowing these problems to go unfixed will take an additional 3 to 4 years to fix even with new coaches.

Guys, all coaches say they wouldn’t leave thneir current coaching job to take another university’s open position. What are they supposed to say? Yeah, I am coaching here today waiting for a better offer to take? Do you think Urban Meyer said he would take the Florida job when he was coaching at Utah? No. But when Florida came and offered, he took it.
There are plenty of GREAT coaches out there that UGA could hire. The TCU’s, the Boise’s, the Utahs, that have great coaches that will some day leave for a bigger program because they cannot compete with money, tradition and SEC conference that a school like UGA offers.

The worst “play” of the game was the calling of a time-out–with the clock already stopped-on UGA’s last drive of the game. This is terrible coaching. Another time out was called, with the clock stopped, on 4th down–didn’t we have a call ready for 4th and 7 or so—all the above with less than 3 minutes to go??? Would Mike Smith have gone for it-4th and inches? One TV commentator said “kick the field goal” to get any points because it’s a bowl game. A UGA football team should say “we are UGA” and these points aren’t essential in the first quarter. A lack of effort.

I have supported Richt against family and friends for the last two years. I have gone from a supporter to a “fence sitter”. Bobo and Searels need to go NOW. If Richt will not make the change, then he will have to go now. If Bobo and Searels are gone, then Richt would have a 2011 to show improvement with a new offensive and defensive coordinator. Face it..UCF had a 11 win season. Whether or not your team is in CUSA, SEC, ACC, or whatever FBS conference, that is an outstanding feat. UGA has a fine football history and you should all be proud of that and quit whining like babies. UCF is a young and hungry program that will continue to get stronger and stronger. GET USED to it! In FL there is UCF, USF, FSU, Miami, UF, FIU and FAU all FBS programs. UCF lost to KSU on the final play of the game, bowl team. UCF lost to NC STATE on the final play of the game, bowl team. UCF lost big to Southern MISS a team UCF should have beaten, bowl team. UCF is the 2nd largest university in the USA…In the only other meeting between UCF and UGA, the ref gave UGA the game.. the payback was worth waiting for. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN… keep you heads up UGA will be fine, but keep an eye on the south there are a bunch of teams in FL waiting for you!

Coach Richts only hope is to land an amazing recruiting class on national signing day. Contrary to belief , Georgia is not getting a top 5 recruiting class every year. Look at last year on scouts.com Georgia’s recruiting class was ranked 21st! And on ESPN it was ranked out of the top ten. Even when Georgia has had a top 7 recruiting class its still ranked like 3rd or 4th in the SEC. Georgia needs a number one recruiting class with immediate impact players! Coaches are as good as there players. Ask Urban Meyer and Gene Chizik…Georgia is letting too many great recruits go to Alabama , Florida, Auburn, Tennnesse and everywhere else.

I’ve been watching the UGA football program slowly implode over the past few years. Just when I thought they had hit bottom they once again proved me wrong.
I may not have the X’s and O’s knowledge that the objective blogger’s have but I know krap when I see it.. It’s painfully obvious that Richt has totally lost control. He’s a fine man and devoted christian but that style simply does not work with the vast majority of UGA ’s self-centered jocks. If you choose to recruit this type of athlete you must demand discipline, performance and instill a degree of fear in your coaching philosophy.. I’d don’t need to list the SEC coaches that successfully use such style.
One more year will not begin to solve this problem. Richt has lost the respect of the majority of the players. They have given up.On top of that his excessive loyalty to the coaching staff and certain Seniors has gotten the program in the horrendous shape it’s now in.
Richt must go and the new guy must clean house. That will not reverse the program overnight. We need to brace ourselves for a slow resurrection.

coaching didn’t lose this game. coaches coach, players play. QB looked real great, didn’t he? having to wear a glove because his hands are too small and can’t grip a cold ball because it’s too slick. holds on to the ball way too long. teams are only as good as their QB’s and Defense’s.

I have loved and supported Ritch. I still like the man greatly and have wished for his success. But it is time to move on. He needs some time off from the game and he and his coaches have looked for the last 2 years. The DAWGS have become a below average team and an embarrassment under his leadership…actually and possibly the worst team I remember seeing my 35 years of watching the dawgs…just one disappointment after another. Insted of him being compared to Dooley…he going to be remember along with Golf’s era before it is over…in the meantime, UGA football will be a lost cause for ever how long Garity and others allow this to continue. All the best of Ritch…but I have no confidence anymore.

Our future lies in beating powerhouses Buffalo,Florida Atlantic,North Texas,Charleston Southern,Georgia State,Coastal Carolina,New Mexico State,Appy State and adding some real lightweights like Agnes Scott,and Columbia college for women. Forget Kennesaw State as it has a Dooley tradition. Pass on the Citadel as these cadets have too much heart.

Marcus- Yeah, Murray didn’t look great in that game. He may not have beaten a team w/ a winning record, but he still put up great numbers over the whole season, & he didn’t have many bad games this yr…even in most of teh losses. He’s only a Fr., & he did have good games & beat 3 bowl teams. I know he & UGA didn’t look good yesterday, but maybe if the rest of the team (mainly the O-Line & RBS) were as good as teh were supposed to be….it wouldn’t be so hard for him to do it all.

I am writing this for my own sanity. I am not into blasting young kids; however they are not being given the direction or support needed to achieve the success we have come to expect from our program. It is quite apparent there is a “Disconnect” at the highest level in this program and either Mr Richt is either not sincere with his comments and/or is not capable of continuing to direct this program. To provide real leadership there are expectations that must be met.

EXAMPLE: What kind of leadership does it provide to our players when so little confidence is shown in them that we will not go for a 4th and inches attempt so early in a game.

As I prefaced this is to save my own sanity and I have no other issues with Mark Richt but believe he has not displayed the ability to produce a program which meets my expectations. He appears to be a great person but I do not believe he is the right “Fit” for our program. I wish him the best as I do not know what the future may hold for him, but I personally can not continue the year long anticipations and disappointments that have become a recent hallmark of the Mark Richt “Era”. That all being said I feel much better…….GO DAWGS.

First, to all the Tech fans on here giving us grief, come back when you can beat us. Second, to the folks criticizing Murray for a bad game, get a grip. This kid has been a warrior all year. Third, to anyone criticizing any of the players, take a look at the video of Chris Durham leaving the field and tell me these kids didn’t want to win this game. This year is squarely on the shoulders of the coaching staff, not the players. What message do you send to your team when your coaching staff decides to kick a field goal on fourth and inches from the three instead of punching it in. Football is not a chess match, it’s an aggressive, collision sport. Until Coach Richt figures that out, we will continue to lose games that we shouldn’t or win by razor thin margins. Richt has a great overall record and he seems to be a truly good man, but he does not have the aggressiveness and go for the throat attitude that it will take to be a truly dominating head coach in the SEC. Keep the faith Dawgs and let’s hope for the best in 2011.

Bobo cant call plays…with 4th down and their 2. We should have showed the power I and slid the tight end out into the end zone for an easy pass…would have been an aggressive play call that should have set the tone for the game…He is way over his head..

Not only did the team live up to Richt’s total lack of faith in them on the first drive…Richt and Bobo did the same thing right after our first pick. Bobo called a play action pass that was blown up setting up 2nd and 23. At which point Bobo totally gave up on the drive. Calling our predictable draw play that goes no where on 2nd down and the all too obvious screen pass on 3rd and forever that also fails to gain any yards. The coaches quit on the drive. If they can quit why can’t the players? Lead by example.

The same thing happened at the end of the half. Instead of driving as hard as we could to get in FG range (with a kicker that can hit from 50+, no less), we call a running play where Ealey is tackled in-bounds. So we let the clock run out. This lack of effort at the end of the half has happend in many games this season. Again the coaches quit on the team,

If he coaches try and make something happen on every single play…maybe the players would start playing that way! Instead the message our coaches send is “If any of you make a mistake and we lose yardage, this drive is over.” No wonder when things start going bad they go very very bad.
