Putting a UGA slant on all these coaching changes

Will Muschamp, huh? Like just about everyone else, I didn’t see that coming. It’ll be interesting to watch what having a former Dawg in charge in Gainesville does to the rivalry.

And if Muschamp manages to lure Kirby Smart away from Alabama for a lateral move as defensive coordinator, as rumors have him trying to do, what would that say to Mark Richt, who was unable to do the same with Smart last year? Think that would get Smart drummed out of the Georgia Lettermen’s Club?

It’ll be fun to see where Gus Malzahn winds up, too. And how long Dan Mullen remains at Mississippi State.

Meanwhile, what did you think of the UGA team of the decade they announced Saturday night? Do Ben Jones and Clint Boling from the underperforming current offensive line really belong on that list?

So there’s a lot to talk about and you can continue to do that here, even though I’m on vacation this week. The Blawg will return next week. Until then …

Ealey is the poster child for the thugs and morons recruited by Mark Richt.

Add Green and King to that list.

Coach,
Better get one of these openings. Your work in Athens is complete. You have demolished the program. I do not care who is coming next year to suit up in the silver britches. They will be transmogrified by your crack staff into less than they can be at another football program. Plus they will need time to acquire a taste for alcohol, drugs, parking deck sprints, and jail. Enough work on their immortal souls, please. Never saw a football program that should be located in the school of divinity before. Let’s get you, Bobo, and the ADD ball players GONE. I withdraw my support. Why cannot you just see the light. There is no gimmick to success on the gridiron.
Aw Shucks, Coach, please get out of my life. Let me ,once again, look forward to SEC Football with hope.

Richt finally has the second coming of David Green in Arron Murray, calm and cool, Grantham will be in the second year of the 3-4 and have a little more success, I only pray our “vaunted” offensive line finally lives up to the hype with 4 juniors returning. Muschamp is inheriting disarray, no qb, no HC experience,(his own problem), and an FSU program on the rise…DAWGS WILL PREVAIL IN JACKSONVILLE IN ‘11

So What?

I never cared for the guy when he WAS a Dawg. One of Ray Goof’s pets. Just another reason to be a Gator Hater.

This ‘entitlement generation’ of Bulldog fans make me want to puke. You think that just because an 18 or 19 year-old drops a ball from time to time at a critical juncture, then that damn head coach must be at fault. Personally I’m damn glad Mark Richt is our coach and believe that he will have us back to the point that even the most knee-jerk, reactionary, hun-yuks, Johnny-come-lately, Dawg Fan will be begging for a spot back on the bandwagon – and sooner rather than later.

As for Muschamp and, perhaps, Smart, at Florida, the pressure’s on him. Florida fans are no different than most others – if their guy hails from one of their bitter rivals, then they’ll pull the trigger quickly to get rid of him is he doesn’t win big now. Particularly if he loses to Georgia next year, and maybe Tennessee and, again, to FSU…then you’ll see how quickly the ‘Fire Will’ sites will spring up…and Will will be wishing he was still ‘in waiting’ back in Austin.

Serious Dawg fans need to start organizing and demanding that Richt be fired. Otherwise, sports writers will be asking the same question this time a year from now.

Richt represents mediocrity. Saban represents excellence and championships. Richt simply isn’t in his class, nor will he ever be. Richt would have to be incredibly lucky to win the division, and the odds against him winning the SEC championship would be at least 50:1.

Those are the simple facts, and there’s no amount of enthusiasm or cheerleading or Top 5 recruiting classes that can get around it.

As they say in poker, “Read ‘em and weep.”

Vandy just announced that James Franklin (assit. Head Coach – O.C. Maryland) will be their new head coach. It would be nice to see Vandy come up and thump a few heads. It’s probably going to be a little tougher coaching in the SEC than it was in the ACC. Good luck James. GO DAWGS!

How many players did you say were on probation?

There were a lot of things for the dawgs to celebrate this year. Let’s see…

1. A drunken, whoring athletic director.

2. Twelve players arrested.

3. A player suspended for violating NCAA rules.

4. Winning the Fulmer Cup for the most players arrested.

5. Winning the title of #1 party school (i.e., the most drunken student body in the USA).

6. A sleazy assistant coach who razzes opposing players, unethical coaching conduct in violation of NCAA rules.

7. A super sleazy head coach who thinks he’s a saint, but recruits thug wannabes, gangbangers, and illiterate morons.

8. A 6-6 record despite having a team full of 4- and 5-star recruits.

Really something to be proud of!

Silence in the court

December 19th, 2010
12:23 am

Attention, everyone, especially dawgtards. We will now observe a moment of silence in memory of Saint Jan Kemp, who exposed the shameful practices at UGA that were initiated and carried out by slimeball Vince Dooley. Dooley’s image as a coach and a nice guy were forever shattered during the trial, not to mention the one million dollars that dawgtards had to pay Saint Jan. These practices of recruiting morons and coddling them for four years, them tossing them out like garbage, are still going on, but at least the world knows what’s happening in Athens now.

And now, the moment of silence…

Thank you, you may resume your normal activities now. For dawgtards, that usually means having another cheap brand of beer while wondering how long your last unemployment check will last.

the name of the game is recruiting, then coaching them up.Muschamp now has his chance. He’s earned it.After all,if Mack Brown had retired after this past seasonMuschamp would have taken over, and not a word would have been said about his head coach experience. He could be Zook, or he could be Stoops, or somewhere in between, but he’s earned his chance.

Well all the comments wishing the “best” for Muschamp and Smart are nice, but the real issue shows up when you see that UGA is rated about 16 -18 on recruiting reviews. That is the real issue, how do we improve without getting good players.
I have supported Mark Richt, but as many are saying is that 1 or maybe 2 years to get back on track in the SEC is about all that I can support. Cullowheedawg
