The Junkyard Blawg will be back late tonight with commentary on the game. (Johnny Crawford / AJC)
Since tonight’s game between Mark Richt’s Georgia Bulldogs and Paul Johnson’s Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets doesn’t kick off until 7:45, it will be quite late when I get back from Sanford Stadium and my initial post-game Blawg goes up.
So until then feel free to comment here on the game, whatever the outcome.

Talley, why don’t you stick to football and not insult people. I am quite sure you have your own physical flaws that could be ridiculed. Oh no, you’re probably an Adonis…guess you will have to look that up, though! OOPS…I just insulted your intelligence. So sorry.

This was a pathetic showing at best! Two weeks to prepare and this is the showing of our defense? 400 and something yards rushing? Are you freaking kidding me? It took me 2 seconds to figure out we need to load the box. I’ll gladly trade salaries with Grantham! Bobo? Good grief! Richt for allowing this or not having the sense to correct it? A bigger good grief! We do not deserve to go to a bowl. If it weren’t for the Seniors, I would think Richt would show some class by declining an invitation. It would save every UGA fan some money! Maybe I just expect too much! As much as I hate to say it, we are nowhere near a respectable football team! I am very upset over this! What’s the solution? When does it get better? I’m getting so tired of “wait til next year!”

Where was Rodney Garner during the defensive strategy meetings? He could have showed Grantham the formula for shutting down the triple option. We contained it nicely last year. Was Garner asleep during the meetings, or does Grantham have so little faith in anything Rodney has to say that he ignores him, because this strategy was PATHETIC.
If we’re going to compete next year we need a Mount Cody in the middle and our outside guys need to be big strong and fast. We don’t have anyone on our DL that is tailored to run the 3-4. They’re all week, small and quite frankly suck. Our LB with the exception of Dent are also too small and too week. They can not get off of OL blocks… they’re getting crushed on outside runs.
Richt must make some significant moves with this coaching staff. Here’s what must be done and I don’t care if Crowell likes it or not.
1. Rodney Garner – Fire, our recruiting classes have been slipping and his coaching across the DL is insufficient.
2. Bobo – Demoted to QB coach. We need to bring in a new OC.
3. McClendon – Fire, if he can’t teach our backs to hold onto the ball and stop from running up the backside of our OL then we’ll get someone else who can.
4. Van Hallanger – Fire
5. Stacey Searles – On notice. He has one year to turn this OL around, or he’s gone at the end of next season.
I don’t want another 6-6 season, period.

Am I the only one that’s noticed Murray is only one TD away from matching the single season passing TD record? Not bad for a freshmen. He might end up one of the best that’s ever played here, but morons are bashing him. Unbelievable.

dawgfan: I know where Murray is and thank God for him! This kid is the real deal! He has to get tired of knowing he’ll have to orchestrate at least 35 per game so we”ll have a chance. His back must be killing him from carrying the rest of the team!

Murray is one of the few bright spots on this UGA team. I’m going to break it down… if your name is not on this list it means you suck and should free up a scholarship:
These are the guys who have the mojo going forward, everyone else is a waste of space:
1. Aaron Murray – total stud, hell of a first year.
2. Orson Charles – tremendous upside
3. Cordy Glenn – best guard we have… by far
4. Ben Jones – excellent center
5. Trenton Sturdivant – should be solid next year
6. Tavarres King
7. Marlon Brown – He’s going to be an impact player next year
8. Jarvis Jones – He’ll be a beast next year. (Richard Samuel, jury is still out for me)
9. Brandon Boykin
10. Alex Ogletree
11. Brandon Smith
12. Justin Houston – he just barely makes the list. Way overrated… his motor doesn’t rev a third as hard or fast as Pollack’s did.
13. Blair Walsh
14. Drew Butler
15. Washaun Ealey – barely makes this list (King is a flop)
Sad isn’t it? We are thin boys, very thin.

Marlon Brown is a bust, Houston and Boykin will be in the NFL next year, T King is a servicable SEC WR at best.
I pray to sweet baby Jebus that Miami goes after Richt hard.

Murray choked again in the 4th quarter.
On 1st 4th & 2 inches, failed to get 2 inches to convert from the 4 yard line.
On 2nd 4th &1 on the 18 yard line, fumbled the snap, for a 2 yard loss.
Also, only completed 1 pass in the 4th quarter.
Lacks poise, not good under pressure, not the guy you go to when you need a play in the 3th quarter.
Ealey & Houston were both amazing.

Dawgs win. Check the playcalling dummy. Murray played pretty darn good. Bobo choked in the second half. Dawgs win. I think you must really be Zack Mettenberger. Anybody that thinks Murray is bad or a choker is a complete idiot.

Murray 15-19 273 yards. three touchdowns, zero interceptions. Shut up Marcus. Dawgs win. Four incompete passes the whole game.

It’s a win. Defense needs a lot of work. Murray played great. Bobo’s playcalling in the second half was a mystery, as usual. He went away from what was working in the first half and took the ball out of Aaron Murray’s hands. Kept Tech in the game when they were obviously unable to defend the pass.
Marcus=Frank for sure...

Yea, he just changed screen names but is still spouting the same stupid garbage. He forgets that someone tells Murray what plays to call. That’s the moron in the 4th qtr.

Defense was horrible on both sides. However, we are actually worse because we know what play is coming next and still can’t stop it. We gave up more points to Tech than Duke! That’s not good.
Murray is the real deal, despite the moronic observations to the contrary. However, without AJ and Durham, next year may actually be worse. We simply won’t have a real threat at wide receiver. Must find a big-time running back and at least one stud receiver before next season.
Now, the most disappointing part of this win: we are dumber than dirt! Sure, I know we failed to make any meaningful adjustments on defense. Plus, when we finally did stop Tech, we come out with a 7 point lead and immediately go into our typical offensive shell by running on first and second down and putting the offense in a 3rd and 9 bind. Just plain stupid, especially when you consider Tech’ total ineptness at defending the pass. But the real evidence of just how stupid we are is not simply taking a knee with 85 seconds left in the game! We could have run the clock out! We should have run the clock out! We gave Tech the only chance to win when we ran it in for the last TD. That is inexcusable!
I guess we should just be thankful that Tech is absolutely terrible. What worries me more than anything about our future in football is “There ain’t no cure for stupid” and we are clearly stupid and seem to be getting stupider with each game.

We still need a Defensive Coordinator! A DC makes his money coaching the big Games! Every big game we have played this season the opposing Offense has had their way with us! We cant stop the pass and we cannot stop the run! Until we get this Defense fixed! UGA will NEVER win the SEC!

I believe Warner Robbins High School could beat this version of the dogs. If McGarity has any stones at all he will do something positive. Like:
1. Sending CMR to the “U”
2. Sending Granthum to the unemployment line.
3. Sending BoBo to Mars, where he will never coach again.
4. Forbid any gangbangers from being recruited. Any such recruits will result in the recruiter being send to Alcatraz, one way.
If McGarity does nothing, he will be the most unpopular AD in the USA.
