A week wearing the noncontact jersey

Big Bad Bruce, indeed. (University of Georgia)

Big Bad Bruce, indeed. (University of Georgia)

I’ve been out of commission this week battling a big, bad kidney stone. If you’ve ever dealt with that, ’nuff said. Hopefully there’s now light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

Even while hurting, I got a kick out of the reaction my UGA shirts drew at Piedmont Hospital, from the orderly on the elevator who lamented how the season has gone thus far to the urologist sharing skybox gossip from the win over UT.

Anyway, I’m catching up with what’s been going on and am pleased to see what a good-looking dog Uga VIII is, and of course I’m concerned what Caleb King’s stupidity is going to mean for the Dogs’ season. The Kentucky game already looked tough and it’s likely to make the difference between UGA keeping its bowl streak alive or not.

Time to step up big-time, Washaun Ealey.

I won’t be making it to Sanford Stadium Saturday for the Homecoming game against Vandy (the brothers will be using my seats) but I’ll be watching and will blog.

So feel free to keep the football conversation going. …

Seem like Washaun is trying to get his yac on (yards after contact). I’d rather see him blow by people than focus on breaking tackles for now. Get your yards, 5, 10, 40, then if 3 guys gang up on you need to wrap up with both hands and end the play.

Ealey needs to get his swagger back. If he rips off 5+ every carry, and puts both hands on the ball–no mistakes, do dat nuff times, and da defense gets all down and all, then you can break some big runs.

Ealey really gives Georgia the most swagger when he’s running his mouth. he needs tog et the team jacked up, get the O-Line jacked up, then start ripping on some runs. I’m ready to see Ealey run with swagger again.

6:47 pm

Best wishes Bill, getting back to 100%. Now to the RB situation – Why are coaches stuck on this redshirt thing? I understand there are limited circumstances where this is the right move, but not in most cases – and almost never for a running back.
Think of it this way – if the guy is any good, he will only be there 3 yrs anyway. You will only waste a year (perfect example – Knowshon Moreno) if you redshirt him. And its not like you are not going to sign another good RB in the next 3 years! It just doesn’t make sense.
In this particular case, its a slam dunk. Carlton Thomas is simply NOT a major college RB. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THIS? Play Malcome. He could have already helped us. He has to be a better alternative than Thomas.

The juice disolves the stone to a passable size the olive oil lubes the tubes so it will pass easier. Do this and save thousands of dollars in Dr. bills it really works anyway it can’t hurt to try, it worked for me. Go Dogs Go Stones

Am I the only one who wishes we would run the PISTOL with Aaron Murray in the SHORT SHOTGUN and Washaun close behind him?… We could run it SPREAD with 4 WR, SLOT with 3 WR and a Big Tight End, or my favorite, BIG with 2 WR and 2 TE.

Can someone forward this to Coach BOBO! C’mon Coach…. USE YOUR WEAPONS!

We Need FASTER DEVELOPING PLAYS… QUICK PASSES and RUNS that EXPLOIT the HOLES in the DEFENSIVE SET.

ALLOW MURRAY to FACE THE DEFENSE and READ the WEAKNESS. CHECK to RUNS and HOT PASS ROUTES against the blitz. HE IS A GREAT, INSTINCTIVE QB with A GOOD ARM and GREAT LEGS!

I FORMATION PLAY ACTION on 2nd and Long requires MURRAY to TURN HIS BACK to the DEFENSE… THIS CREATES SACKS and INTERCEPTIONS and takes WAY TO LONG TO DEVELOP against SEC DEFENSIVE BLITZ schemes. When they BLITZ, they STUFF the RUN and KILL the PASSER… AND our MAN has his BACK to the DEFENSE and CANNOT SEE the HOT READ.

Break it out on the GATORS! GO DAWGS

Someone else may have posted something similar to what I am posting here, so apologize if this has been hashed out already:

The Dawgs may have recruited well under Richt the last 5 years, but a huge percentage of those players have not been on the field for UGA due to what I have begun to call “UGA brain Injuries”. This is when for one reason or another a players stupidity keeps them out of the lineup at UGA. call it a mental injury rather than a physical one.

The offense in particular has been hard hit by not fielding anywhere near a complete team because of the UGA brain injury phenomenon. Ironically, the offensive line is exempt from this situation and has underpeformed significantly for other reasons that are unknown to me at this time.

Receiver: AJ Green missed the first 4 games and was a huge distraction to the program. He missed this time due to mental injury. Who among us wouldn’t have given AJ $1,000 cash to not miss the first 4 games this year? When you consider the donation and ticket cost it would have been a wise investment. T. King was suspended from the team for the first game due to UGA brain injury syndrome. UGA was already a little thin in PROVEN depth at WR, but if you take the top two WR’s off any team and then factor in some injuries ON TOP OF the brain injuries at WR, UGA was missing significant playmakers at the receiver position. This situation was made worse by UGA just recently realizing we have two of the best tight ends in the country and that they are actually eligible to catch passes. Somehow the TE’s have escaped UGA brain injury syndrome.

Runnning Back: Virtually our entire backfield has suffered brain injuries this season. With the top 2 RB;s suspended for games during the first half of the season, it is lucky that UGA has not suffered serious (non brain) injury problems at the position on top of this. Caleb was having one of the best games of his career at UGA when he layed the ball on the ground killing a sure win by UGA at Colorado. UGA may have recruited well at this position, but the players aren’t available to play either because of suspension or being benched for game losing turnovers.

QB: UGA lost one of the two QB’s competing for the starting job to a career ending brain injury (at least at UGA). This may have been a blessing in disguise because Murray has exceeded most of our expecations and really played well enough to win in every game, but the SC contest. I believe that having all the summer reps and preseason reps and practice reps has helped him develop more quickly. If Zach hadn’t suffered a UGA brain injury, he would have had to split those reps and Muray probably wouldn’t be as good as he now. Of course, we don’t know how good Zach could have been, but I’ll take Murray going forward.

So basically UGA brain injuries have kept us from being able to play our top WR’s and RB’s which are key positions in every play except the QB draw. Add to this the underacheivment of the OL and our coaching staff forgetting we have TE’s on the roster during the first four games and throw in 3-4 gut wrenching costly turnovers… and it is no wonder the offense is not clicking.

@ cj_nc_dawg: great point about running less out of the I formation and more out the shotgun or the pistol. it’s clear our OL can’t hold blocks for long enough or drive people downfield far enough to run successfully out of the I. we still need to run out that formation enough to stay credible with play action (which has been working pretty well as murray has gotten quicker with his reads), but i definitely think that quick hitters, traps and draws, and more diversity in terms of our formations will definitely help the running game. i’d like to see washaun or maybe logan gray back in the wild dawg some more this week, too; if it weren’t for procedure penalties, we would have had some success with that against SC. go dawgs!

Let me get this straight. UGA is supposed to provide HOPE and free education to those who like yourself found growing up in some other country is not as good as growing up here. We are to provide in-state tuition to you’ll even though you are not even citizens of this country, let alone my state.

At a time when we are out of work, you should instead be allowed to take our jobs, get paid in cash and pay no one any taxes. But, you can send your cash back home in your case to Brazil. Instead, I am paying half my salary in taxes. This, so that, you can have babies with prenatal care provided free to you in our hospitals.

In the meantime, our own children in our own state who are every bit as smart as you are, are not guaranteed a seat in our own colleges I pay for, such as at my alma mater UGA. This so that you can be, yet here you are for a decade now in my country and at 24 do not have a college degree as I. Now, we are changing the rules so that you cannot attend public colleges paid for by me. I don’t care what your sexual preferences are, so why through that in my face too ?

Get a job. Have half your taxes taken away by the IRS and file your Taxes April 15 like all the rest of us. This is a melting pot from all over the world, and then there you are wanting free hospital care for the likes of you, pay no IRS taxes and oh yeah without a job provide you a fee education at public universities now too so you can become the first Foreign Born President of the United States.

Thank you for your bizarre nonsensical positions on every point of the compass Felipe Matos.

BS CMR

Tavarres King wants to drive around Athens in his 5-ton truck the sole purpose of which is to get drunk with 7 teenagers. He dupes DONTAVIUS JACKSON, whom you NEVER GAVE A SHOT TO CMR, into driving so that Tavarres doesn’t get the possible DUI. 1-game suspension is PUNISHMENT ?

Bill I hope you are doing better on this crisp Saturday morning. If someone has never had one they can not even imagine the pain. As on poster said earlier, “Been there passed that!”. Hope your brothers enjoy the game and the introduction of UGA VIII.

The blog masters really should allow an edit option after a post for at least 5 minutes…….one not on.

DawgNation,

Yes, it is a really sorry piece of software.

It replaces AcessAtlanta’ every more sorry piece of software.

Both have had the 1 issue that no one can log in and then post (and like you say edit.)

This, then, makes it worse : anyone can post as if they you

AND

anyone can post as 1 person and 2 seconds later as someone else

Get well soon Bill! We need the Ealey that ran so well late last season. Murray is a playmaker. Let’s roll him out and keep him in the spread so he can see the field. Hopefully AJ on the field opens up single coverage fro T King and Durham. GO DAWGS!

The dog has more brains than Ealey and King combined.

And that’s not saying much. :-)
