A week wearing the noncontact jersey

Big Bad Bruce, indeed. (University of Georgia)

Big Bad Bruce, indeed. (University of Georgia)

I’ve been out of commission this week battling a big, bad kidney stone. If you’ve ever dealt with that, ’nuff said. Hopefully there’s now light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

Even while hurting, I got a kick out of the reaction my UGA shirts drew at Piedmont Hospital, from the orderly on the elevator who lamented how the season has gone thus far to the urologist sharing skybox gossip from the win over UT.

Anyway, I’m catching up with what’s been going on and am pleased to see what a good-looking dog Uga VIII is, and of course I’m concerned what Caleb King’s stupidity is going to mean for the Dogs’ season. The Kentucky game already looked tough and it’s likely to make the difference between UGA keeping its bowl streak alive or not.

Time to step up big-time, Washaun Ealey.

I won’t be making it to Sanford Stadium Saturday for the Homecoming game against Vandy (the brothers will be using my seats) but I’ll be watching and will blog.

So feel free to keep the football conversation going. …

Feel better soon, Bill, and I hope these Dogs don’t give you any reason to be hanging off the edge of your seat, but for some reason, Vandy and Kentucky look a bit more formidable than in years past.

Seem like Washaun is trying to get his yac on (yards after contact). I’d rather see him blow by people than focus on breaking tackles for now. Get your yards, 5, 10, 40, then if 3 guys gang up on you need to wrap up with both hands and end the play.

Ealey needs to get his swagger back. If he rips off 5+ every carry, and puts both hands on the ball–no mistakes, do dat nuff times, and da defense gets all down and all, then you can break some big runs.

Ealey really gives Georgia the most swagger when he’s running his mouth. he needs tog et the team jacked up, get the O-Line jacked up, then start ripping on some runs. I’m ready to see Ealey run with swagger again.

Feel better soon. It’s funny when there is not a post that is negative about something…..there are not a lot of comments….lol. I will use this time to say. I support CMR. Do I agree with Bobo all the time. NO. Do we give up too many big plays on dfense. Yes. If I had a son playing football would I want to send him to UGA. Yes. I trust CMR. He is good man. He will turn things around. Go Dawgs. It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldawg.

On the kidney stone, been there and done it….if you have not had one, do not wish for one. Stone free for awhile, but concerned about UGA as a team. Source says it is tough, and as Vince said, between the ears is where it is occuring….hopefully, we can get the next two, but just cannot trust this team at this time..

Hey Bill, demerol for everybody!!! Doc once said I had a kidney stone. After 30 painful days waiting to pass it, I went to a urologist who found it was bladder cancer! All better now.

UGA VIII looks like a DGD.

Bill,

My condolences on the kidney stone. I’ve had two in my lifetime. Probably the most pain a man can feel. On my way to the hospital during my passing of the last one, I asked my wife to kill me so the pain would go away. We’ll miss you on Saturday. HBTD

I have solved the problems with this team!!! The AD needs to put a pack of Black Cat firecrackers up the coaches and players butts to motivate them. Bobo might could use a cattle prod and while at it pop Richt six or seven times with that rascal.

Play Malcome!

October 14th, 2010

Best wishes Bill, getting back to 100%. Now to the RB situation – Why are coaches stuck on this redshirt thing? I understand there are limited circumstances where this is the right move, but not in most cases – and almost never for a running back.
Think of it this way – if the guy is any good, he will only be there 3 yrs anyway. You will only waste a year (perfect example – Knowshon Moreno) if you redshirt him. And its not like you are not going to sign another good RB in the next 3 years! It just doesn’t make sense.
In this particular case, its a slam dunk. Carlton Thomas is simply NOT a major college RB. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THIS? Play Malcome. He could have already helped us. He has to be a better alternative than Thomas.

When I heard Richt was going to put Munzy in at RB I almost soiled my shorts. This proves Richt either doesn’t watch video of games, or Ken Malcome has a boil on his sack and can’t run. Munzy at RB is like watching watching a 50 year old white guy trying to carry the rock. It makes absolutely NO SENSE.

Get well soon, Bill. (Who needs a Hallmark card with talent like this.) Uga the VIII has a nice ring to it. We need Peter Noone to record a song dedicating the new Uga. Let’s hope Uga the VIII ushers in a new reign that begins with ruling over those low life gators.

ouch. get well, bill, and keep providing grist for the mill. always read your column.

hope washaun has a good game and gets some confidence this week, because we’re going to need him down the stretch if we want to get to a bowl. he did last year, and that gives me grounds for thinking he can do it again. i remember massaquoi had a tough sophomore year (lots of costly drops in ‘06) but came back and gave us a good junior year and a fantastic senior year. so don’t give up, washaun, and we won’t give up on you! go dawgs!

@ adam: i understand that damian swann is going to commit soon, but i’ve heard rumors that have him going both to georgia and alabama. it’s pretty clear we need him more than they do, but it’s also pretty clear that they’re better than we are. so, i don’t know how this turns out. i am pretty sure he was leaning georgia before our season went in the toilet and fans went berserk, but no idea at this point. lowndes25, you out there?

Here’s a home remedy for those stones that really works take a lemon squeeze it out into a glass add one shot glass of olive oil and chug I know yall tailgaters can chug. The juice disolves the stone to a passable size the olive oil lubes the tubes so it will pass easier. Do this and save thousands of dollars in Dr. bills it really works anyway it can’t hurt to try, it worked for me. Go Dogs Go Stones
