Do you consider Matthew Stafford a Damn Good Dawg or just a talented guy who spent three years in Athens? (Associated Press)
As the NFL teams take their pick of the best of the nation’s college football players again, Dogs fans’ thoughts naturally turn to a year ago and UGA’s $41 million man, Matthew Stafford, going first in the draft.
Yes, a year ago the considered opinion of the NFL brain trust was that Mark Richt’s program had produced the nation’s best quarterback, which pleased most fans in red and black. And yet Stafford doesn’t seem to hold much of a special place in the hearts of a lot of folks in the Bulldog Nation.
My son was commenting the other night on the frequency with which you see Georgia fans taking shots at Stafford, who clearly isn’t viewed with anything like the affection folks have for SEC championship winners David Greene and D.J. Shockley or even earlier quarterbacks like Eric Zeier who, like Stafford, failed to bring a conference title to Athens.
Maybe, he suggested, some Georgia fans see Stafford as getting more out of UGA than UGA got out of him. Oh, they’ll cheer for him to do well in the NFL, but he’s not beloved as you might expect a No. 1 draft pick to be.
I’ve said it here before: Stafford and Knowshon Moreno probably were the most talented quarterback-tailback tandem UGA has ever had, but I’m not sure they’ll ever enter the pantheon of Bulldog immortals because they left school early without achieving what the Bulldog Nation expected of them.
So how do you feel about Stafford a year later? If he becomes a big success in the NFL (which might require getting traded), do you think that will add some glow to his UGA legacy?
SEEING RED, BLACK AND WHITE …
Talking to the Lake Country Bulldog Club this week, Richt was asked about the possibility of another Blackout and Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald reports he first took an applause poll of the fans in attendance (more seemed against a Blackout) and then said, “What I’m thinking is if the seniors really want one, we might do it, but they’re going to have to earn maybe making it to Atlanta or beyond to get a Blackout,” Richt said.
Which sounds like an entirely reasonable response, the key being if they earn it.

Do you ever want to see those black helmets again? (Brant Sanderlin / AJC)
But Richt went beyond that and raised the possibility of black jerseys (or, gulp, helmets) just becoming another rotating part of the Dogs’ uniform wardrobe, much like black uniforms have for other UGA teams, including basketball.
“What I’m thinking about doing, and it won’t happen this year,” Richt said, is “it wouldn’t be a bad idea if we have red, black, white jerseys and maybe a red helmet or maybe another color helmet, I don’t know, black helmet. And then just say this is part of what we do and then maybe make them match. Not to save them for any one special game. … I think just winning games is the most important thing.”
Well, he’s right about the winning, but I think perhaps he’s on to something with demystifying the black jersey by taking it out of the “special” category. And after all those years of watching that clip of Herschel run over Bill Bates, I’m sure I’m not the only fan who’d get a kick out of seeing the red britches again. (Though definitely not with red jerseys and helmets.)
I also liked the black britches a few years back with white jerseys and red helmets, but not with red jerseys. And the black helmet? I’m not so sure about the black helmet, which I doubt would have won over many fans even if the Dogs had somehow managed to upset the Gators last year while wearing it.
What do you think? Would you favor the Dogs mixing it up a bit in their uniforms, or would you prefer to stick with the tried and true standard uniform of red helmets, silver britches, red tops at home and white jerseys on the road?
TALK ABOUT BAD TIMING …
Two thoughts on Trent Dittmer’s arrest this week in Athens for public intoxication:
First, if you consider the home page of a newspaper’s Web site to be the digital equivalent of the printed paper’s front page, it’s amazing to me that anything to do with a walk-on backup punter who’s never likely to grace the field in a game could be considered front page news, even an arrest.
And second, we all know that college students are prone to do stupid things from time to time, especially related to drinking. But how clueless does a young man have to be to go out and get drunk, get in an altercation and get arrested the same week one of his team’s quaterbacks has been publicly humiliated and kicked off the team for an alcohol-related incident?
Sounds like it’s time for one of those team meetings.

Matt has more talent than all the other qb’s and it showed and the NFL agreed. and as great as he is and moreno, football is still a team sport and those other guys had a alll around better team and were full of jrs and seniors which moreno and stafford didnt really ever have.
as far as the uni’s,,you cant really screw up red , black and silver they all look good.

Not a dig at ya Bill because I love your take on everything going on with Georgia. If I could recommend another topic to write about, how bout a game by game break down of how 2007 would have turned out with the 2002 or 2003 defense? The best parts would probably be lighting up LSWho? and then the Buckeyes!

Matthew & Knowshon did not have the help on the field – from players & coaches – that they deserved for the talent they possess. They did all they could for us – can’t win a national championship with just 2 players. I hope they both excel in the NFL – on the field & in their wallets.

Oh, what a day it will be today!! I cannot wait for the Tech Nerds to show up on our blog tonight and tomorrow ranting about their “success” in the NFL Draft tonight. It makes me smile just thinking about it!!!
Come on Techies!! Let’s hear your denial!!! Please include ANY 8 of the last 9 scores of the State Championship game held the Saturday after Thanksgiving with your rant!!!
I’ll get you started with one…….. {{{{{30-24}}}} Now it’s your turn! But remember!!! you must include 8….. not just the score in 2008.
Finally…. I would like to congratulate the Dawg Nation for having more fans show up at our Spring Game than the average attendance at a regular season home game at Bubba Dudd stadium.

Staff and Moreno had great individual stats, and got Georgia to a a pre-season #1 ranking and a #3 finish in the nation. Both went in the 1st round, so you can’t blame them for leaving early. Plus, Richt wasted a year with Moreno because he misjudged his talent early.
If we would have handed the ball to Moreno more, and thrown less interceptions with Stafford, richt would have a national chasmpionship. Of course Willie’s D didn’t help a lot either.

Richt ought to quit worrying about uniforms so much and concentrate on winning more games and improving homeboy’s coaching abilities. I said last season and still say now that one of the main reasons, although not the paramount one, that Stafford left early was probably because he did not think it would do him any good to hang around homeboy for another year. Why waste time?

I like the traditional uniforms, but I do agree that if we’re going to where alternate jerseys/pants (keep the red helmets no matter what, that is our identity), they need to be more of a regular occurence. We shouldn’t wear uniforms to get players excited; the opportunity to play big time college football should accomplish that end. I say wear uniforms that look sharp, shelf (donate to a highschool maybe?) the dorky Grambling helmets, and quit worrying about the damn laundry all the time.

Stafford was UGA’s best QB ever. He came in during a transitional period and really was not to blame for why the entire team did not win the SEC during his 3 years, despite having a stellar sophomore year. I also like his continued compliments and promotion of the Georgia program and his appearing back on the sidelines several times last season.

Stafford and Moreno were great for Georgia but did let down a little in 2008. However, that was not totally their fault. Our wonderful DC did not do his job of coaching the defensive talent that he had and he failed again in 2009. Hence he was fired. I am looking forward to seeing the coaching talent we have on the defensive side of the ball at work this fall. I think it will be tremendous and UGA fans will be both surprised and proud.
However, we are going to have to deal with the same issue on the offensive side of the ball if Bobo does not step it up. Last year could have been different had we figured out before the 5th game what the correct offensive line alignment should be. Likewise, we had issues with the defensive coaching abilities and we struggled. But Bobo and Richt seemed determined to put Cox in the spot light. Why did Gray not play more or not use one of the redshirt QBs more. If you have a player that is supposed to be a star – he needs to play early. Redshirt is useless if he can go pro – see Stafford and Moreno. Moreno was redshirted – imagine him playing his freshman year.
We need to focus on running the ball and have an Alabama offensive type year. Of course, I don’t expect our defense to be as good as Alabama’s was last year but if we have strong improvement on D then we can make large strides this year.

Stafford and Moreno ditched out on the expectations… expectations that were unrealistic. I don’t think they deserve discredit because they didn’t play for teams like the others. Even Zier playing under Goff played on a team. From the outside looking in, mind you, Stafford and Moreno just didn’t appear to be on a team. They were really bright stars in a collection of individuals. It wasn’t just the QB and RB that ditched out. Everyone ditched out, got kicked out, or injured out. I think it is all on the coaches. Richt deserves some criticism here. I will always suspected that his support staff were a bunch of bickering ninnies and ego heads who lacked leadership and destroyed morale. I think Richt responded to the criticism. He is a good HC, who has been willing to learn and make changes. But, hey I have never set foot in the locker room. There just seemed to be a lack of chemistry in ‘07-’08 and ‘09 was a rebuilder. It happens.
Stafford and Moreno will eventually be recognized once we are over the disappointment of the not #1 season. Look at their stats.

I would hate to see UGA turn into an Oregon corporate uniform circus. It really DOES work for a team like Oregon, but UGA should stay somewhat traditional. (we don’t have to be exactly like an Alabama or Penn State, but let’s keep it within reason). That said, even a team like Florida has switched up the helmet in recent years, and as long as UGA sticks to the basics (red, white, silver, and black), a few color combos would not kill me. AND, although I think the blackout against Auburn was amazing, more often than not it is special when you see the Dawgs kick some tail in the good ole red jersey.

It was a proud day for all Dawg fans when Stafford was selected #1 overall. That being said, he will never hold the same place in this fan’s heart as, say, Greene or Shockley, who both brought an SEC title to Athens. No more gimmick, jerseys. Please. The Dawgs wear red helmets, red jerseys and silver britches. CMR needs to focus on better ways to motivate his players for big games rather than dressing them up like science fiction characters (see last season’s debacle against the Gators, who looked like a women’s softball team in all blue). If he sees the need to shake things up, why not put Uga in a black jersey? Just not the players.

First of all, Stafford was the most physically gifted QB to ever attend UGA. He was also an extremely smart QB (he could read defenses and make the appropriate pre-snap audible better than just about anybody).
Some complain that he wasn’t a vocal leader ala Tebow, but there is more than one type of leadership. You can go out, hoot and holler, which works very well for some people, or you can lead by example. Stafford was one of the latter. He went out there and played to the best of his ability week in and week out.
So why all the (unfair) Stafford hate? Well, he left early for the NFL, which, whether they’ll admit it or not, othered a lot of people, which is selfish on their part. The man played hard and played well for UGA those three years (helping us win the Sugar Bowl and finish #2-3 in the country [depending on which poll you follow] in ‘07), but some people think he “betrayed” UGA somehow by going pro. Yeah, he didn’t win an SEC title, but if you think that was all his fault, you’re stupid.
Did you see the defenses he had at his back? 07’s was decent at best, and 08’s was just plain bad (you should never score 42 points in a game and LOSE, especially when you have a 16-point lead at halftime). He also didn’t have a heckuva lot of receiver help until ‘08. Receivers alone were the reason we lost to South Carolina in ‘07. There were about 3 or 4 TD passes thrown INTO THE HANDS of receivers, who promptly dropped the pass, Coutu also missed a mind-boggling 3-4 field goals that game. I could go on for hours about the ‘07 team but I won’t.
The ‘08 team, offensively, had everything you need to win a championship. Defensively, they sucked. 49 points to UF, 41 points to ‘Bama, 38 (or so) points to UK, 45 points to Tech, 38 points to LSU. Need I say more? You can’t win (or compete) for a championship with a crappy defense.
To conclude, he is one of those legendary UGA QBs. And I think his stature will only increase with time. Stafford was lucky to have the opportunity to play for Georgia, and Georgia was lucky to have the opportunity to field a player of his caliber.

I like the black helmet, I just don’t like the red face mask. A black or white face mask would make it look better. As for Stafford and Moreno: I feel that fans didn’t get the time to truly embrace them and they left school with people asking “what just happened here?” Shockley and Greene were both in the program for five years each. So, we got see them and know them a little more. Also, it didn’t hurt they won SEC championships. Moreno was the most exciting, relentless, and overall most talented RB I’ve seen at UGA. (I didn’t see Herchel really, but I saw all the other good ones post Herschel.) Losing him hurt more than losing Stafford to me. He would have made Joe Cox seem like a better QB.

He showed true grit last year when he came back into the game while hurt. I think he has earned the respect of his teammates & coaches, and hopefully Detroit fans. I don’t understand the negative vibes for Stafford. Yeah, he got more out of being at UGA than the team achieved on the field, but I’m not sure that was his fault. He played and tried to win every game, but a rifle can only do so much. I thought Bama was going to kill him in that massacre in Sanford Stadium.

Mythoughts on the uniform issue:
Many of you have referenced Oregon and their mix-and-match style: They can do that because the owner of Nike is an Oregon grad and the Nike headquarters is in Eugene, and he basically gives them new uniforms each week while also using them as a blank canvas to test out new ideas. While that may work for Oregon (sometimes I love their uniforms and sometimes they are ghastly), I don’t think we should have any kind of similar mix-and-match uniform, no matter how awesome I think the black jerseys looked with the silver britches and red helmet.
Nearly all of the most respected programs in the country (Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, SC, Penn State, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, e.g.) have a traditional uniform that doesn’t change week-to-week, year-to-year, or even decade-to-decade, and that includes the trim as well as the color combinations. It’s a brand, and you know exactly who it is the second you look at them. The traditional Georgia uniform, with the silver britches, red jersey, and red helmet with the black and white “G”, is currently like that. Anyone who glimpses at a Georgia uniform knows exactly what team it is for without even having to see the “G” on the helmet. That level of tradition and iconography can only help in marketing the program and recruiting the right kind of football players.
Second, on a more practical level, I think we could spend the money better elsewhere than just to appease the football team’s and the fans’ sense of fashion. Do you have any idea how much an extra set of jerseys, an extra set of pants, and an extra set of helmets would cost each year? Tens of thousands of dollars easily.

Stafford is one of my all-time favorite Bulldogs. Great arm, great competitor. Those who say he didn’t bleed red and black don’t know what they’re talking about. If he was only looking out for his pro career, he wouldn’t have sacrificed his body to make that touchdown-saving tackle against Michigan State in his final game.
You can’t hate on him for leaving early. The point of going to college is to prepare you for your career. If you can get $41.7 million guaranteed, you’d be a fool not to take it. Greene or Zeier or any of these other “true Dawgs” would have done the same. So would I, and so would you.

Georgia missed their best chance with Stafford and Moreno to win the SEC Championship. No excuses Dog fans. You know you coaching cost you a championship. The best you can now hope for in the next 3 to 4 years is the chance to get smoked (again) by Bama in the SECCG.
I think they should wear yellow. The way they gave up in the Tennessee, Florida and Kentucky games last year was hard to watch. Richt should have been fired after the Ky game.

Bill, as much as i hate it when you ask what we think, i have to weigh in on this one. I have no love for these guys. Mainly because of all the hype that was built around these guys. These two were the ones we all had been waiting on to lead us to the promise land. All along the notion of everyone was just wait til MR gets his players in here. And what did we get for it?? Nothing. Sure we got a trip to the Sugar bowl two yrs ago but no championships of any kind. As long as i can remember….uga fans(myself included) have always thought how much better our players are than other teams. And year after year…we keep getting our hearts broken.
I want players like Sam Bradford. He stayed for his senior season. He would have been a 1st rounder last year. He’d have gotten the big bucks. But he said he had always wanted to be the QB at Oklahoma and thats what he wanted to do. I know these kids are looking to make millions in the pros but as a loyal UGA fan i’m here to see our team excel and win championships. Give me players who want to be here because they want to be a DAWG. Having #24 and #7 set our program back 3yrs.

Football is about championships. From high school to the pros, teams play for championships. Greenie and Shockley led UGA to championships and Stafford didn’t. Yes, we had a terrible DC while Stafford was here (Shockley had Martinez too) , but Stafford had a hand in some of that with his interceptions (some for TDs) in big games.
He may one day be the best NFL QB from UGA, but he’s got a long, long way to go to catch Fran Tarkington.
And, he will be admired and liked by most Dawgs, but just not as beloved as some others who led UGA to greatness.

And he did just that. Also in the process….all of the jive dancing on the sidelines and the discipline problems started about the same time. My favorite in 08 was Thomas Brown and i would take that kid 7 days a week over Knowshon. And i’d take a David Greene and a DJ Shockely 7 days a week over Stafford. When you think about it, finding fault with Stafford and/or Moreno for leaving early with some unfinished business, while adoring Herschel when he did, virtually, the same thing. Sure we got a NC with him – but that was in ‘year one’, we wanted more, and by damned we’da probably had it if he’d hung in for another one. Of course, I blame Donald Trump and Jack Manton for all that – and the money, of course. And saying that Stafford and Moreno was the best ‘QB/RB’ tandem Georgia ever had? Sure Buck might not have been the gunslinger Stafford is, but we are talking about a ‘tandem’ here ain’t we? No way that the combination of the latter is better than the former. Ask the fans who they rather have back – in their prime.
As for the unis, please, lets don’t be an Oregon with a different combination every week – even if Nike were to pay us to do it. Don’t have problem with the red pants with the white tops – like the Tennessee game in ‘80 – but never again black pants and red tops like that game with Florida where we looked, and played (football), like the Redcoat Band…love the band mind you I just don’t want to be reminded of that game.

Let’s get back to the traditional.. where do you get white pants being traditional?
Silver Britches were an innovation of Coach Wally Butts, who took over as head coach in 1939. The handsome pants, complimented by a bright red jersey, made for a striking uniform. Through the years, fans referred to the Bulldogs’ silver britches in their chants and on banners, but the phrase really caught on in the early fifties with a cheer, banners, and colorful vests that proclaimed ‘‘Go, You Silver Britches.’’ Coach Vince Dooley re-designed the uniform when he came in 1964 and used white pants; however, he re-instituted the silver britches in 1980 just prior to what turned out to be Georgia’s national championship season.

the difference between greene and stafford is greene elevated the program, and stafford was expected to win everything. Stafford has an arm from god, but greene had the best touch. Moreno is awesome, I don’t care what anybody says. I saw that guy make something out of nothing more then anybody. We should have bought him a house to make sure he stayed one more year haha. Everybody needs to get off of willie also, in 07 we were winning all those games because of his defense. Howard started going on that sack party, and that’s what we lost in 08 and 09. We have an attacking defense now, good running game, and the once the QB gets some confidence in him we will win the NC.

Stafford is a victim of circumstance here. CMR has been a much more relaxed coach over the past 4-5 years vs his first 4 when he had a genius defensive coordinator. There’s zero doubt that Stafford is a much better QB than Green was (absolutely no disrespect intended because I love David Green) but the fact that the defense was so awful during Stafford’s tenure in Athens, it depleted his legacy because of the overall non-success of the team. UGA didn’t even play in a conference title game during the Stafford years and that’s no fault of his. Players are remembered, and in most cases undeservingly, by what the TEAM did while they were here. UGA won an SEC championship and played for another during Green’s tenure. UGA won another SEC during Shockley’s tenure. But not once did UGA even play for one during Stafford’s because the D just plain sucked. Sucks for him because he could have won a couple of titles at other programs but his loyalty to UGA kept him from achieving it. But oh well. Kinda hard to feel bad for a 41 million dollar, #1 draft pick from the great UGA! Peace and chicken grease!!!

Damn, if these guys need to be motivated/rewarded by uniform changes, then there is a problem. Anything other than the traditional uniforms shouldn’t be a “regular” thing. Poor decision, bad timing, stupid thing to do… yes, no doubt. College kids and MANY adults can’t handle alcohol… a few drinks and reason is GONE… at that point nothing else matters. Stafford underachieved in Athens. Especially with Moreno lining up behind him, they should have won more games. His relatively low completion percentage and relatively high interception ratio (both bad stats considering he’s a #1 draft pick) added to his less than 3 year “career” in Athens tell me the fans are correct to place him beneath Shockley, Greene, and Zeier.

I love the idea of alternate uniforms instead of the blackout approach. It worked great the first time & as an introduction of alt unis to the program under CMR. I love some of the throwback ideas that have been posted for the Fran era, others I’d like to see are unis honoring the 1942 & 1980 NC teams. My though is that those should be special occasion unis. We should keep the black jerseys, maybe add a silver one, defiantly add red, white & black pants. The alternate pants should mainly be worn on the road. Some practical ideas for that are; all white when it’s hot on the road then red or black pants when it’s cooler. I’m not opposed to alternate helmets but the unis all need to match up & look good, that red face mask wasn’t a good look. Also CMR is right if we go with alt unis we just add them & don’t make a big deal out of it. However if the players are just clamoring to wear a particular look, I love the idea of them having to earn the right to ware it.

Stick with the classics. Richt should worry a bit more about winning games than the jerseys. The blackout is a great idea, but only for a special occasion, or when the players really deserve it. UGA fans are proud of the tradition of the school and football program, so keep honoring that tradition by sticking to tradition.

Fact is, if you don’t win a title, or don’t stay 4 years and try, then you are just another passer-through. Greene, Shockley, Lastinger and Belue will forever be hero’s to the Bulldog Nation. Zeier, though he didn’t win a title will be as well because he honored his agreement with the program and played 4 years. Look at david Pollock. 3 time All-American. Could have been a first rounder but stayed to win a championship, then went pro and still was a first rounder. He will forever be a Bulldog legend. Not Stafford or Moreno

Hurts as a Dawg to say this, but Stafford had so little “heart” compared to Tebow. Tebow willed that team to win, and Matt would just come off the field and hit the bench. Yes, I think Matt wanted to win, but the QB is the defacto leader of a team. I also think more than anything that Willie Martinez really cost Georgia the last two years more than we will ever know. Our DB’s never, ever near a receiver and shoulder bumping for tackling and close to NO pass rush ever.

By the way, those silver “britches” with the red jersey may have been “introduced” by Wally Butts to UGA in the ’50’s, but they had been, and still are, a staple at Ohio State long before UGA used them. The head coach shouldn’t even be thinking about changing uniforms and breaking traditions until he can establish a new tradition of beating Florida.
I have been a Dawg fan since I was born. Yes, we have seen different variations of Red, White, Silver and Black, but the changing mid year as a gimmick to “reward” the players is a joke. The players are rewarded with an education, should they chose to accept it. How about they reward us with hard work, respectability in their community, and exceptional performance on the field.
I for one think the black helmets are awful. Should the team decide to go in a different direction with the uniforms, so be it, but bending over to the wants of fickle 19 year old is absurd.
Look at Tech’s uniforms…those are hideous.

We do another uniform change and come out with a black helmet and pants against Florida and what happens? We get blown out again. And now we’re talking about more blackouts and uniform changes? This is surreal.
Let’s try winning some games and beating the Bammers and gators of the world again before we start talking about stuff like uniform changes, blackouts, and such.
A poster earlier noted that all the national traditional programs have and wear the same uniform for years with virtually no changes. Michigan, ND, Bama, Nebraska, OU, Texas, Ohio State, Penn State especially, USC, See something here? These are all traditional powerhouse programs that don’t do the uniform gimmicks. And for the most part most of those teams mentioned above are still in the national discussion every year.
And one last thing. The blackout failed miserably and then when I watched the seccg last year I noticed something interesting. Those new fangled gator uniforms. How’ld that go for Florida? The team that once again went for the gimmick uniform in Florida once again got pounded by the team that wore its same ole traditional uniforms in Bama.
The uniform gimmick has worked consistently for exactly one other team: Oregon. And the reason it works for them is because its not a gimmick. They’ve been changing their uniform up so often and for so long that its part of their tradition. Its what they do. For us lets try winning some big games and getting better and beating the heavyweights like Bama and Florida before we worry about some dang uniforms and blackouts. Enough already!

Patrick,
Richt is 3-1 not 4-1 against Bama with his 3 wins coming over Bama teams crippled by probation. Even LA-Monroe and the Mississippi schools were beating Bama in the early 2000s. Its not as if beating Shula coached Bammer teams playing with half a deck is a big deal.
As for winning 3 of the last 4 against them they can just as easily say they’ve won 4 of the last 7 against UGA. And then they can say they own the overall series lead by double digits 11 games.
You would do well just to ignore rabble rousers like Toga.
Last, no one cares that Richt was beating weak Bama probation ridden teams 7 and 8 years ago. What does that have to do with here and now? What does it have to do with the current direction of the UGA program?
If you want to live in the past and compare records vs the Bammers it is an argument you cannot win. They have more of everything. More national titles, sec titles and division titles, more overall wins, head to head they own UGA, more bowl wins, etc. Just give it up and ignore folks like Toga.

I would have to agree with an earlier poster on the why’s Knowshown and Stafford aren’t beloved in Dawg Nation. The expectations were extremely high and we touted ourselves bigger than we were. Obviously, I have talked at length about the terrible O line play over the last 4 years. When was the last O lineman/TE’s actually drafted in the NFL? 2006 Pope TE (3rd rd) and Jean-Gillis G (4th rd), 2007 Milner TE (4th rd) and Shackleford T (6th rd), 2008 Chester Adams G/T (7th rd). Everyone touted the strength of the Offensive Line and it is quite evident that their is not talent, skill or a lack of coaching consistency up front. Having said that, the Dawg Nation never gave enough credit to Moreno or Stafford for their ability to make up for the vast shortcomings along the offensive front. If Moreno was not as talented as he was, we would have been horrendous running the ball and Stafford despite his shortcomings would not have been as successful of a passer without his talent. Year after year we talk about the strength of the Offensive Line and year after year no one hones in on that being the issue. Yes the defense had lots of issues… yes we weren’t super deep at the Wideout positions but everything starts up front on the O and D lines. Our O line never started up and thus last year you see the end result.

Moreno deserves to be loved by the UGA fans for his hard work and hustle. He got gipped by the coaches when he was redshirted the first year. Otherwise I imagine he’d have given us three great years, not just two.
Stafford really does kind of just fit in the middle. He is appreciated, but he didn’t have the very same connection with fans. Partly because of not winning SEC like his predecessors, but I think moreso because his nature and demeanor didn’t draw as much attention. He was solid, but not legendary in the college game.

Ditch the black helmets unless your match ‘em with black facemasks, a la the Atlanta Falcons.
Wear ‘em only for home blackout games , with the black jerseys and silver britches. Now THAT would look sharp!
Other than that one game a year, though, I’m all about tradition. Good grief with all the mixing and matching of uniforms. You don’t see ‘Bama, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State doing this sort of gimicky stuff. In fact, I think what so many fans LOVE about college football IS that’s its so rich in tradition.

Patrick and Ron Roberts,
Richt is 3-3 against Saban alltime. One of those games was against Saban in his first year at Bama in 2007. This was a mediocre Bama team that finished 7-6 and had jr and sr classes decimated from probation. Richt’s stats against Saban and Bama are skewed by probation weakened Bama teams. That is my point. Also, Saban has won 2 bcs and 3 sec titles in 8 years of coaching in the sec. Richt has won how many bcs titles and sec titles in 9 years of coaching? 2 secs and ZERO bcs titles? Is that right?
My other point is that Richt did well in the early 2000s when Bama was down and when Florida had Zook. What has Richt done in the last 4 years in his own division? 10-10 against the sec east including 2 losses to the mildcats? Are you serious?
Fact of the matter is that Richt did well when the sec in general and Bama and Florida in particular were in down years with loser coaches. Things have changed in case you haven’t noticed. Its not 2002 or even 2005. Its 2010 and Richt’s established program in year 10 is on downward trend. 10-10 in the last 4 years in the east division proves it.

Now it’s Dittmer! Excuse my racism, but when will these white guys stop embarrassing this team? It’s like they never learned to drink in the white ghettos. An educated black friend tried to help and what did he get?-a punch in the mouth. What makes these white guys so aggressive when they drink? Does it take an act of Congress? Oops…forgot that most of them came from the same degenerative racial background. These kids are an embarrassment to other well-mannered black members of their team. The racial disparity seems to be growing with the hard-working achieving black players doing what is right for their NFL careers while the white players seem to be interested only in cutting lawns for the rest of their lives. Don’t get me wrong. They come from athletically disadvantaged lives and it’s inspirational to see them attempting to lift themselves up…literally. They are trying to go beyond their European ancestor’s despotic brewing heritage to take their place among the black achieving community, but I guess it’s just in their genes. We know how the Native Americans tried to take advantage of them by using this flawed characteristic , but we know now how the whites twisted historical perception. They ramble around at all times of the night, drinkin’ their hooch and emulating their idols from the NFL. Of course they accuse the police of racial profiling, but we know that’s not true because a black cop lost his job trying to help a liquored-up white NFL player. They even have white power groups that feel they are superior to the God-fearing hard-working black people, but that was nipped in the bud by a NY black congressman who pointed out that if the last President was any indication of white superiority then we don’t have anything to worry about. When will these white players ever learn?

All this blame on the defense, How many 3 and outs did UGA have agianst GT in the 3rd Qtr.? UGA had 2 or 3 3 and outs and 2 turn overs in the first half against Bama during the black out game.
Was this Stafford and Moreno’s fault or Bobo and CMR? IMO if Stafford was one of the greatest at making the reads which, every one of his coaches think he is, he either did not execute the throw or Bobo had the wrong play in as the next option.
Either way yes the defense was bad, but special times and offense did them no favors. If Stafford had Greene’s defense, I doubt the team would have an SEC title and I would not blame Stafford.
I’m hoping Grantham raises Bobo’s game. I do not want to see a Dawg run out of Athens but the past few years have not lived up to what they could.
Also CMR lost alot of my respect last year in Jax. Yes winning is what matters put the extra time in a game plan, calling plays, sitting in position meetings not uniforms.

Staff has no legacy at Georgia as far as im concerned. He only won one big game and that was on Knowshons coat tails. Hopefully the days of soft UGA qb’s are over and they will be treated like the rest of the players. Look at Stafford last year in Detroit he was in much better shape than he ever was in Athens. Let the qb’s spend some time with Gratham and get them tough and get them stronger , ther not kicker’s Bobo. And the uniforms are bogus they fire up the other team just as much if not more , I knew the game in Jax was over when we came out in gimmick uniforms. Thats my thoughts

I never said Richt sucked. I’m merely making the point based on division stats that the program has sunk lately, especially in the last 2 years. And forget about Saban for a moment. Meyer owns Richt 4-1 with several blowouts. Even the Zooker won 2 of 3 against CMR and he is now 2-7 against UGA’s biggest rival. Sorry but there is no lipstick you can put on this pig. Everyone remembers Richt whupping LSU 45-16 the year after LSU whupped UGA and won the national title. So what? They traded butt whuppings. What is your point? Mine is that Richt has not won a bcs in 9 years while Saban and Meyer have won 2 each in lesser time. And Meyer has won 2 in a mere 5 years while Saban won 2 in 8 years after taking over major rebuilding programs. Bama was abysmal when he took over and LSU had 8 losing seasons in 11 years when he took over. Richt at least inherited a steady 8-3 program every year. Big differences.
And what is going to be your excuse for Meyer and Florida in general owning Richt. Richt is 2-7 against UF and 1-4 against Meyer including several blowouts? I can’t wait to hear this next bit of babble from you.

One more thing, Anonymous… in the last four years Richt took the ‘Dawgs to a BCS game, finished #2 in the nation, has beaten Florida (soundly, too, WITH Tebow on the field, I might add). He HAD the best team in the nation in the eyes of most fans that year, when it was all said and done. No biggie; he’d ALSO have had a shot at a BCS title (I believe) were it not for D.J. Shockley missing a game (vs. Florida) where we STILL almost won the game despite having to play our 3rd string QB that year; and his first 1-loss campaign came in one of those (now) “fluke” years where twoi teams actually managed to go undefeated going into the bowls.

Stafford and moreno I feel like have a different legacy. I think Moreno is the second best RB ever at UGA. I think stafford is probably the most talented qb ever at UGA, I don’t think he was the best qb though at UGA. That’s the difference I think, he never lived up to his potential. Especially when Greene did better then anyone ever thought and in one year as a starter shockley did what was expected. I think that is why many people don’t feel as much love for stafford, although as mentioned earlier with a better defense who knows how many championships UGA may have had.
As far as the jerseys, I like wearing different colors, and I know the players like changing it up. I actually liked the black helmets, I just didn’t like the red facemasks, go with a black facemask.

See, Georgia ALWAYS has Florida, Tennessee AND Auburn every year. You have Auburn (when they’re occasionally good) and LSU (when they’re now occasionally good) and two lousy MIssissippi schools and an Arkansas program that’s actually bitten the Tide once in awhile. By the way, when’s the last time Miss State U. beat ‘Bama? Been fairly recently, hasn’t it? Who’s worse – Kentucky or Miss State, the last 4-5 years?
See, it could go on and on; but it’s absurd to.

Stafford was a great athlete, but not a great leader. He knew very early that he was headed to the NFL. It’s hard to make a kid care about losing when he know’s he’s going to be a millionaire. It looks as if a lot of the drivel put here by staunch dawghaters seeped into the consciousness of Dawg fans. Stafford didn’t come back for his senior year, nor did Herschel, and you can blame neither one. Staff won just as many SEC titles as Payton Manning, Eli Manning, and many others. He’s been back to UGA functions, and he definitely showed cajones by winning that game in which he was hurt. I also remember him making tackles and giving effort after turnovers. Tackling Eric Berry in the open field is no easy feat. Knowshon was great and would have been even more spectacular with a big, senior dominated line. That’s something neither of the two got to play behind.
UGA needs to leave the unis alone. They are a classic combination.
Do Athens cops get some special bounty for busting UGA players and fans? I’ve been to Auburn, Florida, Florida State,Tech, and Bama games and have never seen so many people hallsed and cited for even the most minor offenses. Ron Roberts,
Enough with the koolaid. UGA was not the best team in the country in 07. Lost to an unranked Carolina team at home and got blown out by UT. And lets not forget that Vandy beats you if they don’t fumble going in for the td that woulda put the game on ice. Championship teams may lose as LSU did on the road in triple ot to 2 bowl bound teams but championship teams do not get BLOWN OUT. LSU also beat VT which ended the season 4th or 5th in the
nation and beat em 48-7. LSU also beat UT and did it with a backup qb. LSU deserved it plain and simple.
Also, you come up with the excuse that UGA lost to UF cause Shockley was hurt but conveniently ignore the fact that Tebow was playing hurt in 07 and that UF had 3 key Defensive lineman out for that game. Typical excuse making by dog fans.
How2fish,
Sportsmanship? Teaching young men how to succeed? Are you serious? After all the soulja boy dancing on the sideline when beating AU, the piling on in the end zone in the UF game? All the other unsportsmanlike penalties in the 07 UF game? The 21 UGA players that have either been arrested or cited by the police in the past 2 years. Surely you jest. You guys are wayyyyyyyy ahead of everyone in the Fulmer cup rankings. No one is even close. Isn’t there a dog player getting arrested literally every weekend it seems?
REALDAWG,
Saban is bolting after this season? Really? Why didn’t he take the USC job or the ND job earlier when they opened up? What’s that? He’s going back to the pros? After taking a million dollar pay cut from a historically plum Dolphins job to go back to college? Sorry dude but his NFL bridges are burned. What’s that? Urban Meyer is leaving? Sure buddy. A 12 pt win over UF is not a SMOKING. Now 49-10. That is a true A$$KICKING SESSION. 41-17 now that also would be a buttkicking session. ULM? They must be pretty good. I just looked it up. Turns out they beat Bama by 7 that year while UGA beat Bama by 3 in OT. Apparently ULM is better than Georgia. Isn’t that a hoot!

Interceptions. what do Shockley, Stafford and cox have in common. they all gave up a pick-6 in a big game. There is a pass that UGA calls with a receiver out to the side with nothing and no one behind them except green. I know that opposing backs just lie in waiting for that play. Run the tape on every pick six. What play is being called? Scratch off the play book.

Stafford and Moreno left early and did not win any championships. They chose the $$$ before winning anything. However, if they had ANY defense in 07 and 08 we win back to back NCs. Those offenses in 07 and 08 were the best in the SEC regardless of what stats say. They will never be loved because they left early. I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t feel compelled to stay in school if someone offered me 41 million just to sign my name.

Not saying that UGA deserved to go to the NC game more than LSU, but had they played LSU in the SEC CG, UGA would have almost without a doubt been the ‘07 NC.

DawginJax is absolutely right. Our red jerseys and helmets are a brand that we should stick with and be proud of…just like other perennial and traditional football powerhouses. The black jerseys were awesome at the Auburn game, I will admit. But fundamental football must be the Dawgs’ focus before any more gimmicky uniform changes are made again.
Surely our new defense and QB don’t need more “juice” (to quote CMR before the FL bashing last year) for this coming season.

Walker, Greene, Pollack and Shockley are beloved because they were warriors who brought it on every play and players who led their teams to titles. Staff and Knowshon were like that in 2007, which is why great things were predicted for 2008. Unfortunately, the defense was subpar that year, and there was poor leadership on the 2008 team, which led to an underwhelming performance on the field. Stafford and Moreno, for all of their talent, seemed to lack to chip-on-the-shoulder fire of 2007. They almost seemed to be going through the motions at times, biding their time until the NFL came calling. Losing to an inferior Tech team was the capper on that disappointment of a year. I think that Stafford and Moreno will always be respected for their ability, but they will never hold the stature of the aforementioned foursome because of their failure to lead when it was their turn to do so.

Nothing wrong with black helmets as long as they’re properly co-ordinated with the rest of the uniform. Black pantas, white jerseys, and black helmets are OK now and again. Black helmets with the silver britches and white jerseys are fine every now and then. I wouldn’t try a different combo and I’d keep it to a game or so a year. Tradition never graduates, though, so stick to it in the main…

I liked stafford he scared me though sometimes with some of the throws he made wish he would stayed. If the pros wanted him that bad then if he had stayed the money would have still been there maybe more. Zeier played on a team that did not have as many talented players he played his heart out & never gave up a tough stong QB smart too like stafford. Stayed to finish school & to work on his arm he said it was not ready for the pros & despite the team he played not having the most talent he never gave up & really liked his teammates & coach Goff also he was the 1st QB to really air it out Dooley liked to run the ball not throw. as always very often EZ also set several records & beat them Greene finally beat his record it took a long time though & EZ is back at UGA in the radio booth with SH so glad he is back! wish stafford all the best in the pros. Even as everyone sang Matt Stafford’s praises, I felt he never really bled Red and Black. He bled dollar sign green. He merely chose UGA b/c the program offered him what he needed as a stepping stone to the NFL. To “live on” in the hearts of the Bulldog Nation you have to show some loyalty which was never seen from Stafford.

Stafford’s ok in my book. He was a gunslinger on a team that had a poor defense. Put him on a team with a Van Gorder D and he would have won a SEC title.
He would be more highly thought of if he had stayed for his senior year. He was probably smart to go ahead and leave since WM stayed. A redshirt year would have put him on this year’s team with a veteran OL and a new DC. What might have been.

Had Stafford and Moreno had a decent defense, like Greene and Shockley both had in the 02 and 05 seasons, they would have won a championship. We wouldn’t have given up 35 to UT in 07, 49 to UF in 08, or 45 to Tech in 08. Not their fault that they can score 30 on Bama and still lose.
I’m proud of them either way. They can’t make a team great, only the offense.

I really don’t give a damn about arguing whether Stafford/Moreno loved Georgia, deserted us, etc. I’m concerned about winning the SEC (we enter our fifth season without having won the East) and then the BCS championship. What’s that? We need to focus on those goals even though they are distant now. Who knows?
Maybe I’m wrong but I find CMR to be one of the most enigmatic coaches ever. Here he gets his butt kicked in over a four year period and he’s talking about uniforms? You could fool me but I thought that winning was the primary concern, not fashion. And the reality is that I would love to see us wear Oregon-like uniforms only if we are in championship games. I want to win.
Now let’s get back to winning football. I hope we win this fall but I’m not optimistic. CMR doesn’t have it as a HC competing with the likes of Saban and Meyer. Deal with it because it’s the truth. You delusional people are still talking about what? The first five years? Our great “leader” persisted with CWM as DC for another year after five games in 2008 where the D gave up 30 points or more. Do you know what other business that would have tolerated such mediocrity?
This is the weakness of CMR. I think most anyone would have canned Willie after such a pathetic showing on D. But we shouldn’t forget that the vaunted offense of Stafford and Moreno were shut out against Bama for the first half. Florida picked Stafford to death on the way to a romp. Oh, you have to have the D but IMO it has always been CMR’s offense where there’s the trouble. And please Lord, tell CMR to be HC not OC although I think he feels the heat and believes he can contribute by overseeing his choice for OC, Mike Bobo. Ugh! Bobo is a young coach and is out of his league as OC. CMR is going to try and force that one too. It’s his nature. Look at the record. It leaves me breathless. Lest you forget, he took Fabris back after he went to Oklahoma. And he couldn’t control Fabris with those directional kicks. And CMR was the HC. What does that tell you? He’s a weak guy stuck in the mud. But Damon’s got him by the cajones now because Damon stepped up with the bucks and got the man Richt wanted. Now what’s the excuse? That’s what Damon is going to ask too.
I don’t know any of these people personally so I have no animus. I just see the results.
CMR’s record is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He had a great first five years and a horrific four years. At best he has two years if things don’t improve dramatically.
We’re an also ran with the likes of Saban and Meyer. People can talk about them all they want. I’d take either one over CMR in a New York minute! CMR’s destiny is a ministry somewhere and I don’t say that sarcastically. It seems to me that is his real love. Soon he will have enough money to follow his heart. I wish him God’s speed when that day comes.
Prove me wrong CMR. The field is yours.
And now the excuse will be a rookie QB running the show. Last year it was Joe Cox who our coaches said would be “fine.” They lied to us because Joe was far from fine. Valiant but not fine.
And pray tell, who is the backup? Logan Gray ain’t in the hunt. So if Aaron gets hurt, we’re in a heapa trouble. And if it’s Logan, we’re in a heapa trouble.
If we set to achieve mediocrity, we’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams!

Junkyard Dawg, your son is right on. Stafford never gave his heart and soul to UGA. UGA was a finishing school for him…prepping him for the NFL. As for the uniforms…there should be no change. Teams with long lasting tradition don’t change their unis. Think Ala, Mich, SCal, TN, OSU, Penn St, et al. The only reason to follow Richt’s suggestion is for the increased jersey sale revenues. If UGA is gonna do that they should just wear all black with a big Nike swoosh on their helmet.

I appreciate the job that Stafford did for us; however, I would like to submit a little bit of information that you might not be aware of. For the past fifty one years, every SEC championship team that UGA has fielded was led by a Quarterback who was a Georgia native:
1959- Fran Tarkenton
1966- Kirby Moore
1968- Mike Cavan
1976- Ray Goff, Matt Robinson, Tony Flanagan
1980 & 1981- Buck Belue
1982- John Lastinger
2002- David Greene
2005- DJ Shockley
All Georgia natives; All SEC Champions.

What is it with him? Is he in such a hurry to get it all out before he forgets what he wants to say that he can’t stop? Has he been around too may of those ‘fire and brimstone’ preachers, you know the one’s that make a noise like Monica Seles when they take a breath? My SERIOUS thoughts on mix and match uniforms.
THE RED BRITCHES – were used from the first road game of 1978 through the first road game of 1980. That is why Herschel was wearing them when he ran over UT’s Bill Bates in his freshman debut. Before that time, Georgia was still using WHITE britches for both home, and road games. The red britches were used to add some color to the road uniform. So until the team starts wearing WHITE britches again at home, I guess the red britches are out, except for an occasional “through back” uniform scenario. The same thing goes for the black ROAD britches.
THE SILVER BRITCHES – Coach Dooley reintroduced the silver britches at the first home game of 1980 the week after Herschel debuted against UT in Knoxville. They have been used for both home and road games since that time. I have no problem with that as long as they have the metallic sheen finish. Those are what I call “REAL” silver britches. The flat gray/ khaki britches look like dingy white practice pants. If they are going to wear silver britches, wear SILVER britches! If not, go back to the white britches at home and the red ones on the road.
THE BLACK JERSEY – So, the black jersey got its cherry picked. Well guess what? So did the red one and the white one as well. The only thing that will make the team invincible is the player inside the uniform. The black jersey and red helmet is the best combination of school colors the team has ever worn for a home game. When it is combined with REAL silver britches, it is a great looking uniform. It should not be abandoned, but should be used at least once a year. How about Senior Day since it was the seniors of 2007 who inspired its emergence?
THE HELMET – Throughout its history, Georgia has never worn black helmets until the Florida game of 2009. Personally, I did NOT like them. If Coach Richt felt that a change was needed, he should have used silver with the oval black “G” with, or without, a single WHITE stripe. That, at least, would have been a return to an old tradition. I was in Sanford Stadium during the old silver helmet / silver britches days. I didn’t care for them then, and I would rather not see them today because “silver” is not a school color. If there is any one component of the uniform that should never be changed, it is the current style red helmet. When Coach Dooley gave us that helmet, he gave us an identity that we never had. With that helmet, the entire Bulldog Nation of that day experienced a, somewhat supernatural, collective sense of impending greatness. While wearing it, the team reached the very pinnacle of success and they will again. Any change to that helmet, creates nothing more than a cheap imitation that compromises our identity and adversely affects any “mojo” associated with it. In college football, the team’s helmet is the most recognizable element of the uniform, and its identity is a testimony to the school’s tradition.
MATCHING UNIFORMS – On the field all players should be dressed out the same. As far as the team wearing either all black, or all red uniforms I vote NEVER!

black helmets? way too much like the Falcons!
blackouts and uniforms don’t win games; determined players do.
drunk and disorderly? send ‘em packing. its college ball.

I’m only luke warm in my respect for Stafford. I agree, he got more out of UGA than UGA got out of him.
As far as uniform colors, I’m a traditionalist. Stick with what works and what represents the image of UGA. I conjure up silver and red at home and silver (or white) and white on the road. Leave the helmets alone. “GO YOU SILVER BRITCHES”!

Stafford did get more out of UGA than UGA got out of him – he grew up. He takes responsibility for his new team’s success. When he popped his shoulder out last season for the Detroit Lions, he bypassed the team doctor after getting it fixed, coaches, etc and went back to lead Detroit. He started at UGA as a marginal leader at best. Towards the end of his tenure there, he was the undisputed leader.

Bill,
These unbelievably childish blogs, that empower the lunatic fringe, were not around and/or fully up to the sickening speed of today’s blogs when so many of the players to whom your son may be comparing to Stafford vis a vis him taking more shots than them. So, it is not a very fair comparison in general and none of the others was a #1 NFL pick. These members of the lunatic fringe so empowered by your very blog, and other blogs as well, are a very weak source on which to base a coherent debate about any person or thing.

Stafford never won anything at UGA. David Greene another UGA flop that never ever took 1 snap in the NFL, David could not make the practice squad.I hear Greene is better at selling insurance than playing football! Shockey just always standing around holding a clip board, handing out Gatorade on the sideline. Eric last time I saw him he was crying face down in the mud, after UF beat UGLY.

Techie, a great coach in Korea, Mr. Win Some Soon can coach your team. It’s doesn’t need much to coach (mostly oriental) engineering students to play the nerd ball.

Keep the Red guys, that’s UGA’s color!!! In my opinion they need to go back to a deeper red and back to the silver pants. Loose the black jerseys and helmets, they’re just not Georgia.

Consider this. A few years Mr. Average Fan will see Fla. score in a highlight film against a Black hat and black pants team and will think it must have been Montana State or Jacksonville State. W’ere off the hook!

No SHow and MS did not deliver anything for UGA. Yes, they were not helped on the field by the ever lousy UGA D. Now, both are gone and TG & Greyhound.
The Florida game the year after we handled them pretty well, UGA and MS and No Show stunk up the place. MS with his horrible throws and under throws when he had MM streaking wide open for any easy TD in that game and with No Show’s horrible FUMBLES in that same game, they will be remembered.
When a kid turns pro, I say good bye. I am a UGA COLLEGE FOOTBALL fan, not NFL fan, so when they leave, it is bye bye. Take the current 5 UGA kids or 8 now, that will sign pro deals ……………..what did they ever do for UGA?? This is the major problem for big football schools that can recruit. Can the Coach motivate them and develop a system that their respective talents can thrive in?? THIS is where a coach becomes great or just really decent. With the drop off in quality on UGA’s team last season ………….it did not come close to being just fair to decent. Decent is the Cap One Bowl or the Outback or Cotton. Fair is the CHi Fil A or the Gator. The Weedeater is bordering on we are bottom feeders and “let us make a change” and we did with the D coaching staff.
CMR is really decent ………. BUT can he go higher?? This year is very, very important to have a 10-2 type of year …………or a Cap One or better. That is just the way it is.
Go Dogs.

Please stop worry about the stupid jersey colors and worry more about winning. I am a UGA alum (graduated in 95) and I am honest embarrassed by the fact that we are even talking about this. Win a national championship first then talk about what color you want to wear. Hard work + talented players + good coaching win games, not color.

as for Stafford and Moreno, they are just kids…they learned that it’s a hard thing to live up to expectation…they did their best, and had they had a better performance from their teammates, this item would not be a topic of discussion…as for the uniforms, I am of the opinion that only the helmet need remain constant…the helmet is the UGA identifier…period

I agree that Stafford has failed to make it into the pantheon of beloved players, but I disagree with Bill about Knowshon. He might not be in the tier with Herschel, but he is certainly in the next tier with TD, etc.

I don’t hate the black jerseys, they are kinda cool and we should break them out once in a while. How about on the road?

I don’t like any significant change from the classic red jerseys and red helmets. The truly elite programs, Bama, Texas, SC, Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State don’t have fad uniforms that change all the time. I think when a team enters Sanford Stadium they ought to see red helmets and jerseys and think oh $#!t, here come them Dawgs.

If they win every SEC game this year, then I say let them wear purple jerseys and green helmets if they want to. But, until then, stick with the standard uniforms.-AGREE!
