Stuck at work and I could only watch sporadically on TV, but what a great win for the Dogs at the Steg. Travis Leslie was unreal. And what has been evident in the two upsets and close games Georgia has played this season was driven home today: This is a very well-coached team. Once Mark Fox gets more talent in Athens, watch out!

I’ll be the first one to tell you that I’m a fair weather fan when it comes to basketball… but right now it’s fun as hell to watch the Dawgs and the Hawks.

Am I missing something? Wasn’t yesterday the 1st conference win and isn’t their overall record like 8-8? I guess we don’t have very high expectations on the hard wood.

Mr. Evans, great hire!!!! I liked him before he ever coached his first game, but now I love this guy! Mr. Evans, go ahead and lock this guy down for a long time, and he will bring championships to Athens. Here are UGA’s most critical needs in basketball and football.
Football – Indoor practice facility – We have got to keep up wtih the Jones if we are going to continue to recruit in the top ten every year.
Basketball – State of the art arena (I believe Stegman will be renovated by the beginning of next year, but don’t stop there; find other ways to improve) – We have got to keep up with the Jones if we are going to get top players to come to UGA. Also, fan support is a must.
We finally have a credible DC for our football team, now all we need to do is finish this recruiting year on a strong note. We need a couple of hogs on both sides of the ball, and we need to keep Da’Rick.
I love what is going on in Athens. Great job by Mr. Evans, CMR, and CMF. Lastly, let’s not forget that our baseball team is going to make a lot of noise this spring. Coach Perno is fantastic!!!! Go Dawgs!!!!

it’s amazing what a good coach can do….mark my words…Fox will reveal Felton as a horrific coach…..the dawgs have clue now…they can play with ANYBODY….

Why did you people not realize at the time of the hire that Mark Fox was a good hire? It seems that the problem that these kids have had is the lack of coaching prior to his hire. Yes, we need to keep some of these in state GA BB players, and they need to go to UGA. I am curious about how the recruiting class will be this year. The guy knows HOW to coach. Let’s get some higher rated guys in here and UGA BB will definitely be in the main stream of College BB.

Great win. As a dawg living in Reno I watched Coach Fox consistently do great things with the Wolfpack (UNR) out here and knew he’d be a great hire for the Dawgs. The Dawgs usually have some talent but not near the level of some of our SEC competition. We needed a coach that could get the most out of the talent he has and that’s exactly what Coach Fox is all about.

for uga to be a force in the sec coach fox will have to make a statement to fact that he’s going no where and he’s not interested in going to another school period and he’s here to make uga a basketball power.uga officials have to give him reason not to leave. give him what he needs to make this happen. good kids will come to uga only if they know the program is dedicated. uga has the coach now it’s up to the school.

Look at it this way, they started the SEC schedule against the 4 ranked teams, and did much better than anyone would have expected. Improving every week, and schedule gets more favorable going forward.

It’s Final Four or bust now –although I hope we’re not next season’s pre-season #1, we all remember how that turned out for the football program –I don’t think we’ll ever recover from it either.

This season is essentially a recruiting tool. Hopefully, the results pay off in some of the bigger talents picking UGA.

He hasn’t had a full season yet and he’s already a million times better than Dennis Felton.

I was disappointed that the students refrained from chanting “Who’s Your Daddy?” as the hillbilly fans left the game early. They missed a golden opportunity.

It’s not North Carolina or Duke, but a decent win I guess.

The Men Dawgs are the type of team that bother the bigger fish in the SEC. By that I mean they get up for the Big Ones but can’t muster the same ‘high’ for the rest. That just won’t do. Play UK good, beat UT but lose to bottom tier programs. It boils down to every Dawg does have it’s day…In the Lady’s game, the rage was beating the Lady Vols on your floor but little to zip on the following game that resulted in a loss on your court. The Lady Vols in turn went to LSU and won. One game, one win here and there isn’t front page news. It’s Dawg food for the masses. Continuity is what makes champions. Fox has the ability to get ‘em up but to sustain that drive means personnel. I think he gets that rolling eventually but not this season, at least not yet…

Hey, Gen Neyland, did you figure that out all by yourself? Fox gets three to four good recruits this year, and you guys just may find yourselves struggling to keep up with us. As long as you guys keep that AD you have, look for the continuation of UT’s current misfortunes. By the way….whose your daddy?

Congrats to the roundball dawgs. Well done. We didn’t expect much from this season and literally every single victory is a bonus. I didn’t know who Mark Fox was when he was hired but as a reasonble fan I said give him a chance. We will have to see how the season finishes out but so far great job working with what Felton left him. Kudos to the kids buying in and playing hard this year. A lot of them could have walked but instead manned up. Keep up the good work.
